well...I've got to wait til the end of the week for my dvd's as that's the quickest Amazon can get them to me!!! but I know already that my fave bits will be the extras at the end, I know I will love the stuff the KV has done because she is such a wonderful person, fun, bubbly...and I'm sure she has something informative and interesting to say. I will also love any 'behind the scenes' stuff as I always like to see what goes into the making of my fave tv show or a film etc. I can't wait til the package arrives...but guess I'll have to be patient!!

BTW for any UK readers...I've checked again with 2 major outlets (virgin & HMV) re the dvds in the UK, and they still have no release date...i'm guessing Feb 2008

We watched it last night or rather very, very, very early this morning. I loved the extras. They were even better than the season one extras and I didn't think that was possible. You and Kirsten.....I yipped. Ed was so great. The out-takes were amazing. I almost wet myself.

P.S. Was I the only person at Walmart waiting for the clock to strike midnight?

Anonymous said...

Abbey- Heck no you weren't the only one. We left the dorm at midnight and stayed up all night.

Anonymous said...

Amazon should have delivered mine by the time I get home from work. I might just be coming down with a cold and need to leave a little bit early...lol.

I loved them, I would have liked more outtakes but I'll take what I got...My friend and I watched them and she got so into it!

I had to put off getting my S.2 DVD's because of my infamous university costs. I'm very upset over this, as I was really looking forward to sharing the experienc with everybody, but priorities got in the way.

Maybe I'll get them for Christmas, who knows.

Hope everyone enjoys them though, they sound fabulous.

Kim MacMillan, Please speak with Jill about this issue and lets see if it can be resolved.

It is awesome. We have watched it twice already. Jill and Kirsten!!! So cool. The whole thing was worth the wait.

The Gube was precious. It was awesome. OMG so good.

I didn’t have the money to buy the DVDs either, so I went out and sold a bunch of my DVDs and all of my Playstation games this morning, and then ran over to Best Buy where the CM Season 2 dvds are on sale for $40, as I just HAD to see the extras. LOL!

I loved the extras! In Profilers, Profiled I especially enjoyed listening to what MGG and Ed Bernero had to say. Listening to Mandy made me sad as I always wanted more backstory on Gideon and listening to him only made me realize that now I won’t ever get it. The Physical Evidence was gross, so I didn’t really care for that one. The Behavioral Science one was really neat, and I think I could listen to that one writer all day long, as I just LOVE his accent. LOL!

The gag real was cute and of course the Meet Kirsten Vangsness was really neat too. I thought the deleted JJ scene was fine, but I’m glad that they didn’t use the one between Morgan and Reid, as I didn’t really feel comfortable with it.

I SEE JILL, I SEE JILL!!! Congrats Jill on making it into a Hit Shows DVD set!!!

By the way, has anyone found the Easter Eggs? I'm dying to find the Gubie awards!

I just wanted to add that I thought it was really awesome that the powers that be took the time to recognize the blog and even talked about the fans and putting things into the show (Ed called them cookies) that most people wouldn’t recognize, but that would mean something to us diehard fans. Ed and everyone else are soooo sweet and very good to us fans! I also liked that they used the photo of Jill and Kirsten in the first featurette. It’s the photo that I always picture in my head when I think of Jill.

I know the blog question asked us to tell what our favorite part of the extras was, but I have a real problem deciding on just one. I liked Profilers, Profiled because it talked about the characters that we all love and I found Behavioral Science fascinating because it talked about the actual profiling and had actual profilers in it, and I also enjoyed the one on Kirsten and the gag real, but if I absolutely have to choose just one, I’ll go with the Behavioral Science featurette, because it was both very interesting and it had a new interview with Mandy.

With regard to the gags, there weren't a whole lot, but I really enjoyed watching the ones they had, especially those with Mandy and Shemar and the practical jokes on Shemar were funny. There were a few really short ones though that I didn’t quite understand, but maybe that’s just me being slow to get the joke.

Oh, I also forgot to mention previously that Kirsten has a REALLY adorable dog! And it was Simon Mirren that has the beautiful accent. I just love dogs and accents. LOL!

Awesome. I am so in love with these dvds that I may wear them out watching and rewatching them. I don't even know my favorite parts yet but Ed, Kirsten and Jill are right on up there.

Love it! Still watching.

Anonymous said...

Shemar is hilarious. They are all so great. Sad to see Mandy. I love them though.

Mine is in the mail. When I read me e-mail and saw it had been shipped. I screamed!

Raphael0877 said...

I couldn't stand the wait, so I went out and bought a copy; I'll give the one being shipped as a Christmas present!! I absolutely loved the gag reel. I was crying, it was so funny; I loved the scene in the woods when they scared MP and SM (don't want to give it away.) I'm watching the videos right now; the only commentary I've listened to is the one from "Revelations." My favorite thing after the outtakes. I can't wait to watch the rest and listen to the other commentaries - I love to hear the insights of the actors and others involved in the show.

Anonymous said...

My favorite part of the extras was when Matthew says, "He is schizophrenic and a drug addict, WHOO HOO GO REID!" That had me on the floor laughing.

Anonymous said...

I can't find the Gubie awards either!! Help please!

The commentaries were great. I loved them. This is like Christmas in October. We waited so long but what a great night this has been watching and taking it all in.

CM is the best!

PS. Jill and Kirsten.....I wanted to cry I was so happy to see the blog but that is the address to the website. Was there a mistake?

GOOBIE AWARDS:

it's the invisible-until-you-find-it button that will be above or to the side of the buttons on the special features menu.

Anonymous said...

My set is in the mail. Got an e-mail from Amazon.com that they are on their way. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Anonymous said...

I waited all day on pins and needles at work. At 4:50 I started calling around to see who had it. Didn't want to waste another minute driving around town looking for it. Found it at several places, but Barnes and Noble was already sold out!!

I'm going to enjoy savoring every moment!

Anonymous said...

OMG the part with Gube and Mandy on the teeter totter and the playground. OMG it was great. This is so incredibly cool. I don't know what part I like best. I love it all.

Anonymous said...

I think I missed something because I don't see any interview or funny scenes with TG. Did I miss an egg or something.

The bloopers and cut scenes were SWEEET! Loved them but we need more of them next year. Maybe a disc worth. lol

Shemar rules the sun and stars. The man is just the bomb.

Anonymous said...

The blooper reel is really funny. That is my fav part. These dvds are pure gold!

Anonymous said...

I wanted to just die laughing at Kirsten and AJ and the playground was a hoot and the cut scenes were wonderful and the interviews were awesome and I could go on and on but then I would not have time to watch some it again before bed. This has been a great day. Whoever said that was right.

Anonymous said...

I wanted to kiss the UPS man on the lips and he was really ugly. I snatched that box right out of his hands and ran for the dvd player. Jill and Kirsten! Okay the blog being included was just so cool. I loved it. I loved our cast and Ed before but man I love them so much more now after those interviews and the commentaries. The bloopers were so funny. The glasses one had me rolling. I loved Kirsten. Is she not the coolest human being on the planet or what!

Anonymous said...

The season one dvds were great but these were even better. Our last look at Mandy and it was playful and fun. Ed was his normal amazing self and the out takes were great.

I love amazon.com and I love CM.

Anonymous said...

My favorite was when they scared Shemar in the woods. The gag reel was top notch. More please. We need like a mid season dvd set that is just deleted scenes and gag reels. We all tape the episodes. I guess I should hush. Without the episodes we would not have the comments. I am so glad that this exceeded my wildest expectations.

When Ed talked about doing something extra for the fans I wanted to cry. It was so sweet. And Jill!!!! Nobody deserved to be on the dvds more than you did. You work so hard on the blog and promoting the show and I am sorry I woke you up this morning. I forgot the time difference. Please forgive me. I thought everyone would be up in the middle of the night watching them. My oops.

Anonymous said...

The real profilers were very interesting. I enjoyed listening to what they had to say about profiling and that our show is very accurate. Great day today.

Anonymous said...

I thought the insights about the episodes were captivating. I love the process and listening to them talk about all of that was the best part for me.

Criminal Minds is the best show on tv. Is there some way we can mail a set of these dvds to all the Nielsen families. If they watched the gag reel they would love it.

I am so happy. Tomorrow we have another episode. This is like bonus week at work.

Anonymous said...

Okay.......I can't find the egg or eggs and I am almost in a panic. Somebody has to have found them by now. Please advise. Mandy on the playground was a great way to remember him in association with the show. What a special memory to have as a fan. I think the dvds are great but I need THE EGG!

Anonymous said...

Kirsten & AJ are a hoot. You can tell they have lots of fun together on the set. The look on Shemar's face when they got him was worth the entire price of the dvds. The playground was brilliant. The commentaries were better than I expected and totally had my on the edge of my chair listening. The gag reel was great but we all always think they could be longer. The cut scenes were good and if MGG is not the cutest thing in the world then I don't know what is. We deserved these great dvds. It was a hard summer. This was a great way to make it up to us. I love them.

Anonymous said...

I still have not found the egg eitehr...yes anon I realize it is the invisible till you find it button..but I can't find it. Please help!!!

Lee

Anonymous said...

I can't find it either. We need to get the BAU to help us track down the easter eggs!

The commentaries were exceptional. Everything I have seen so far has been marvelous.

Anonymous said...

I am going to get dressed and run out to Best Buy before they close. I am not going to wait two more days for amazon. I cheaped out and didn't pay for the express delivery. I deserve to have to spend the extra bucks now but I can't wait.

Anonymous said...

Ooh ooh ooh. Before I hit the hay just let me say this. On the gag reel, the scene where they show Shemar dancing with all the women, its a scene from The Big Game. I'm sitting here watching thinking, "okay so whats funny about this, I've seen this, I'm confused." Then all teh sudden I'm like, "OMG he is freak dancing a GUY!" I just died laughing. I love this show!

Hotch to JJ: What's the new case?

JJ to Hotch: There are 14 million Criminal Minds fans searching all over the the US and Canada for an easter egg.

Hotch to JJ: Why is this a case for the FBI?

JJ to Hotch: Do you know how bad it is when 14 million avid fans are pissed off?

Reid to JJ and Hotch: Research has shown that a tv show fan looking for invisible easter eggs can be very hard to deal with. We better step in Hotch and help them find their egg.

Anonymous said...

Profilers, Profiled was excellent. Loved it. Gag reel was exciting. I loved the playground action.

I gave up on the egg a few hours ago and just sat back and enjoyed the listening to the interviews.

Loved Kirsten's section. Our buddy.

Anonymous said...

Elaine: I love it. LOL

Paget to Reid: Is there really studies on fans and eggs?

Reid to Paget: Yes there are. I thought that you would know that since we are a nerd.

Paget to Morgan: What do you think we should do?

Morgan to Paget: Lets stay out of the woods or a bear might get us.

Anonymous said...

You gals are so funny.

I like the balance of the extras. Fun stuff but also interesting behind the scenes information. Did I miss Hotch because I don't think I saw TG at all? Maybe he is featured in the missing egg. I haven't had the time to look for it. I wanted to watch and hear what they had to say about Revelations, which by the way was great.

Anonymous said...

My favorite was the playground scene and the sillyness between Mandy and Matthew. Precious.

Jill- I tried to vote in the dvd poll and it froze without taking my vote. Could you check the poll please so I can vote?

It was great.

Anonymous said...

I loved it all. I don't have a favorite. It was all so wonderful.

Alright is it just me or do they not do Thomas Gibson any favors on this show? He is NEVER in the interviews, never in the DVD's...I sometimes wonder if he is just literally NO FUN or what. I mean he did Dharma and Greg so he has a sense of humor. But he never shows up in any publicity stuff and I was just so surprised to see none of him on the DVD's. Does the man ever laugh or does he take himself WAY too seriously? He has a huge fan base that would love to see a bit extra of him now and then.

Lee :(

respectanimals said...

I was a little upset that Thomas Gibson wasn’t featured on the extras too. What’s up with that?

As far as his not promoting the show as much as some of the others, I am going to guess that it’s due to family commitments. I read somewhere that for his children’s sake his family lives in a different state from where he films the show, so he has to fly home to see his family each week. That must really be hard for him (and his family), so if that means less time for him to promote the show, then I certainly respect that decision. I do remember seeing him interviewed on various news stations in the past though and he's in the photos from press conferences and such, so it's not like he hasn't done any publicity stuff for the show.

"When are you people going to learn? Never play cards with a magician!"

Dr. Spencer Reid is just the greatest character anyone has ever written.

Anonymous said...

Thomas Gibson hardly does any press stuff but like you noted his family lives in Texas so he has a weekly commute. I don't think A.J. Cook does enough press interviews. She is a wonderful actress and it would be nice to know more about her.

My dvds are scheduled to arrive tomorrow. I can't wait.

Anonymous said...

Shemar's little give and take with Reid over Prentiss was wonderful. There was that smile I have come to know and melt over.

Mandy was hilarious and I loved seeing him having fun and laughing especially since we lose him this evening.

The gals were wonderful. Kirsten should be sainted.

Anonymous said...

Jill: I loved seeing you with Kirsten and hearing that they pay attention to what we are saying. Nobody wants the show to suceed more than us fans.

Ed is magic. There was only one commentary that I thought was a bit dry and clinical. They others were exceptional.

The outtakes were so much fun to watch.

Shemar in the dance scene had me rolling.

There were too many things I loved to name them all. Loved it all.

Oahn Ly who was being interviewed when the blog was highlighted wrote "Distress"? I loved that episode. Anyone know why she hasn't written any others? That was one of my favs.

Loved the extras. Maybe the egg was cut? I didn't care. I got my money's worth and then some with this set of dvds. CM's cast and producers are the best and the cut scenes alone were worth it.

The only thing I would slightly negatively mention is the lack of Thomas Gibson. Even if he is running back and worth from home to work whey couldn't they find a time that was convenient for him. He is so vital to the show. But I am really not complaining. Just noting it.

Anonymous said...

I think she is the one who wrote Distress which was very good.

Loved the extras. So good. No egg that I could find but who cares.

Jill, you got an early birthday present with the dvds coming out on the 2nd. Loved seeing you. I loved Ed's cookie fan appreciation.

Tonight is going to be so hard to watch no matter which way they go with the Gideon leaving story and the dvds were a real cushion of fun to have the day before.

Thank you Mrs. Gubler for birthing Matthew. He makes me smile every time I see his cute little Reid face.

Anonymous said...

Great extras. The interviews were the highlight for me. And seeing Kirsten Vangsness, Jill and the blog I visit daily. Made me feel so great to hear Ed acknowledge fans and the blog being there. It is like being part of something special that you really love and it was awesome.

Anonymous said...

My fav was the playground scene...no the scaring Shemar in the woods...no it was listening to Ed talk about cookies...no it was everything. It was wonderful and it was on time and we didn't have the release date pushed back a ton of times like with season one. Loved it all and love CM.

Ed, you did really good with these dvds. You really gave a great pre-birthday gift to our hostess here by releasing them on time! Thanks! But now how do we beat what you did as a gift? I know. Can we borrow Shemar or Kirsten for the day so we can send them to her? Please!!

Anonymous said...

Mine arrived today. And I wasnt home! :( I got a package slip in my box and I know what it is! I'm going out there tonight, for something else, but I dont know if it will be ready for me or not. If not I'm going out tomorrow night after work!

I finally got a chance to listen to the four commentaries. I don't usually get too excited about commentaries on DVDs, as they can sometimes be pretty boring to listen to, especially if they get too technical or just restate what we are seeing on screen, but these were pretty good. I especially enjoyed the ones with Shemar and Matthew! The one with Shemar is much more serious and I found the subject matter very compelling. Plus he had some really nice things to say about Mandy. The one with Matthew is of course on a very intense episode, but they keep the commentary very light, so it's more lighthearted and well...just more like Matthew. LOL! He is so adorable!

Anonymous said...

Does the BAU have a department that deals with people who kill because the mail lady hasn't shown up yet!

Anonymous said...

Love them but want to watch them once more before comenting in detail.

Anonymous said...

I loved the fun stuff but the episode commentaries were the best part in my opinion. I know how I feel when I watch an episode and I know what I see on the screen so it was nice to hear some of the thought processes used to pick and develop the stories.

Great dvds.

I have to go out and get this on Saturday. My mother might flip, considering I'm technically spending my paycheck they owe me without actually having it.

But that space next to my Season One set is getting lonely.

*shoves Spike bust into it*

It'll hold the place until the weekend.

About the Easter Eggs--They are on the special features section and if you have it in your computer, move the mouse around the menu until something pops. On the DVD machine, I hav heard that if you press the "4" or "6" that you can get them. Experiment and see what you find.

there are no words to tell you just how much i agree!

Anonymous said...

Thank you Ed and co. for including the deleted scene from Fear and Loathing. It's a chance to see a rare playful, teasing Reid. That really made this fan a happy camper!!!!!

Anonymous said...

well I always said Easter Eggs were bad for my health...I'm going crazy trying to find the gube awards on the dvd's!!!

Lori...I've tried 4 and 6 on the dvd player, and also moving the mouse on the computer...I've even done a grid search (square by square) and I've still not come up with anything!!!! grrrr....

any chance you can narrow it down for me a little!!

Anonymous said...

I got to the post office 5 minutes before it closed last night and got it! I was so happy!

I've moved that mouse over every square inch of the screen. Nothing. I've watched every little second. Nothing.

Anonymous said...

Well, I'm afraid for the poor Easter bunny if we rabid CM fans can't find the eggs. He'll be in tomorrow's stew if the mystery isn't solved soon! :)
Me thinketh that we're confusing cookies with eggs and maybe mere mortals are not privy to all "extras". Hopefully that's not true cuz it would be fun to see the Gubie awards.

Anonymous said...

I just got mine today and immediately watched the extras since that was the only "new material" I hadn't seen yet. Loved it all but especially the "Meet Kirsten Vangsness" piece and the deleted scene with Morgan and Reid which literally had me laughing out loud! I have to admit the gag reel made me a little sad, watching Mandy who seemed to be having a fun time on the set and knowing what happened just a few months later. The joke they played on Shemar on the set of "Open Season" was very funny, though!

Anonymous said...

Oh yeah, congrats, Jill, on the blog and your pic being featured in the extras! It's so cool that our voice is actually being heard by the people involved with the show!

dearlydead said...

The best of the extras for me was the narration to "Profiler, Profiled." Shemar's comments were very insightful and intelligent. It gave me a great deal of respect for him to hear what he had to say.
-Dee
P.S. Thank you, Shemar! ;)

well Babruin....the easter bunny better start running (or hopping)... I still can't find these darn Gube awards, but I will!!! If they are indeed on the disc I will find them if I have to disect the disc myself!!!! LOLOL

I still can't find the Gubes! Or for that matter- the Easter Eggs- can anyone take a screenshot of it or something? I've tried the 4 and 6 on a TV, and I've hunted literally every DVD- I don't know where they could be if they really are on here. Help!
