CRIMINAL MINDS: THOMAS GIBSON MAKES TIME TO GOLF

MOUNT PLEASANT — Actor Thomas Gibson, the star of the CBS show "Criminal Minds" and a Charleston native, will play in Wednesday's Ginn Tribute Hosted by Annika Pro-Am at RiverTowne Country Club.

Gibson, a Bishop England graduate, was rated by Golf Digest in 2006 as the country's No. 2 celebrity golfer, based on his 4.3 handicap index.

He is in town visiting family and called a friend, Mac Frye, about playing golf this week. Frye, a College of Charleston student, is interning with the Ginn Tribute and extended an invitation to play in the pro-am.

Pro-am tee times begin at 7 a.m. Wednesday and continue until 12:40 p.m. Pro-am pairings will be determined tonight at activities that also will pay tribute to another Charleston native, LPGA Hall of Famer Beth Daniel.
