CRIMINAL MINDS: JOE MANTEGNA TALKS ABOUT HONORING THE TROOPS

Criminal Minds: This Memorial Day weekend, actors Joe Mantegna (left, above) and Gary Sinise are going to spend the holiday the same way they've spent it for the past four years: Honoring and remembering our country's brave men and women serving in the armed forces with the massive National Memorial Day Concert on PBS (Sunday at 8PM). Mantegna and Sinise are hosting the concert, which will feature huge acts like Lionel Ritchie and Brad Paisley paying tribute to veterans past and present. "The debt we owe to all these men and women, and again it is really our duty as a country to support them one hundred and ten percent," Mantegna tells PopEater about his participation in the event. Criminal Minds - Every Time I Shut My Eyes

Criminal Minds - Morgan Is Knocked Out!

Criminal Minds - Don't Do It!

CRIMINAL MINDS: BEWARE SPOILER ARTICLE.

Criminal Minds article in EW --Criminal Minds finished out its season last night with a scenario that was creepy even by Criminal Minds standards, featuring guest star Tim Curry as a filthy, smelly killer bent on dragging down every life into which he came in contact.

Similarly, American Idol finished out its season with an equally grisly spectacle: the departure of Simon Cowell, with Idol bent on dragging down his life on the show by drowning his memory with mawkishness.

Tim Curry and Simon Cowell — two dead men walking, still able to inflict pain and receive it. Frankly, I wouldn’t have subjected myself to the long montages of Cowell’s greatest hits (his barbs, his lip-locks with Paula, his facial variations on repulsion when faced with yet another dreadful singer) if I hadn’t been forced to switch away from Criminal Minds at a few points in its season-ender.--

CRIMINAL MINDS SPOILER THREAD FOR "OUR DARKEST HOUR"

CRIMINAL MINDS SEASON FIVE FINALE EPISODE

Criminal Minds article about the season five finale: -Bad things happen in Los Angeles when the lights go out.

That was the idea Criminal Minds co-executive producer Erica Messer and the rest of the writers kept in mind when crafting Wednesday's season finale (9/8c on CBS).

Check out photos from Criminal Minds

"The mandate given to me by [executive producer] Ed Bernero for the finale was just to make it the scariest one we've ever done, which is an interesting assignment," Messer tells TVGuide.com. "I started thinking, 'OK we've done 114 episodes: What is the scariest episode we've ever done?' What I realized is, I needed to know what scares me. If I wrote my fear then there will be a truth to it."

So Messer added to that basic fear of the dark some elements of the serial killer Richard Ramirez, known as the "Night Stalker," who terrorized the Los Angeles area in the 1980s. "He attacked people in their homes, and that's where you're supposed to be safe," Messer says. "That's the one thing in this world you can trust, that you're safe in your home, and he took that away from everyone."

The end product is Minds' Billy Flynn, a serial killer who has for years preyed on victims during blackouts. Guest star Tim Curry brings the menace to life, and his casting naturally helped shape the role and the story.

CRIMINAL MINDS: MGG TALKS SEASON FINALE WITH TV GUIDE

Criminal Minds: Matthew Gray Gubler, Dr. Spencer Reid on Criminal Minds, talks about the season finale to TV Guide.

-Like the skilled chess player Dr. Spencer Reid is, Matthew Gray Gubler was thinking ahead when he cut his hair last month (and he didn't do it himself this time).

"Every year, they do these cliff-hangers, so it's like, if you want to change anything, you have to predict it and do it beforehand," the Criminal Minds star tells TVGuide.com. "[The haircut's] pretty good. I like it. It's summer fun."

Criminal Minds producer on spin-off: "Our world just got bigger"

The Season 5 closer is anything but, as the BAU team heads to Los Angeles to trail a serial killer (Tim Curry) who kills in the dark. In keeping with tradition, the cliff-hanger finale (Wednesday, 9/8c on CBS), which also features Eric Close and Robert Davi, involves not just a case, but the uncertain future of at least one team.....more here http://www.tvguide.com/news/criminal-minds-matthew-1018847.aspx?rss=breakingnews

CRIMINAL MINDS IS THE BEST!

Criminal Minds: EW picks this week's episode of Criminal Minds as the best procedural show of the week.

-Centuries from now, when Google Maps is beamed straight into your contact lenses and Apple makes special iBrain implants to give you easy telepathic access to the internet, this week’s episode of Criminal Minds will become the subject of the most popular drinking game at space universities all across the solar system. The rules? Every time someone onscreen acts like the Internet is rape dungeon for pedophile Nazis, take a shot!

The Behavioral Analysis Unit was investigating a string of murder-rapes, and they could only find one link between the victims: They all loved social networks. Everyone in the BAU expressed moral outrage at the bare idea of social networking. “Whose life is so important?” asked Joe Mantegna, sounding just like my grandmother would sound if she were totally lame. more here.....

CRIMINAL MINDS RATINGS FOR "EXIT WOUNDS"

Criminal Minds did very well with its ratings last night:

Fox's American Idol expectedly won Wednesday night ahead of CBS shows Criminal Minds and CSI: NY.

Over 19 million Americans watched as Michael Lynche got voted off American Idol, with a 6.4 rating in the 18 to 49 age group.

Its main competitor between 9 and 10pm EST was CBS's Criminal Minds with close to 13 million viewers, and Modern Family (ABC) attracted more than ten million. By doing so, it tied its previous record. Moreover, the show also earned a 4.2 rating.

No shows really stood out in the opening primetime hour although The New Adventures of Old Christine on CBS did well with over seven million viewers. NBC's Minute to Win It got slightly less viewers but did win the 18-49 ratings (2.2).

The last hour of primetime was dominated by CSI: NY on CBS, attracting well over 11 million viewers.

CRIMINAL MINDS: THANK YOU THOMAS GIBSON

Criminal Minds: Thank you to Thomas Gibson, Aaron Hotchner on Criminal Minds, for the great chat this evening. Please take a moment to vote in the poll. Next week we will be chatting with Joe Mantegna. It's all good!! :)

CRIMINAL MINDS: GREEN BAY PACKER GREG JENNINGS

Fans of the CBS drama Criminal Minds and the Green Bay Packers will see a familiar face on this week's show.

Packers receiver Greg Jennings makes his network acting debut with a cameo appearance as a lab technician during Wednesday night's episode (May 5, 8 p.m. CT). He has a few speaking lines in a short conversation with cast member Shemar Moore (Agent Derek Morgan) in his one scene.

"When you think about a lab technician, you think about the long white coat and glasses and everything, and that's what I was thinking," Jennings said. "But it's more along the lines of me in the (forensics team) jumpsuit, taking the (dead) bodies out.

"When the police discover a body, they call in the lab techs, and they come out, zip the bodies up and take them away. That was me."

Jennings flew out to Hollywood in late March for the filming of the episode at CBS Studios. He said the shooting for his scene took only a couple of hours, and he wasn't expecting the celebrity treatment he received.

He said he was given his own trailer, with "Head Lab Tech - Jennings" over the door. The crew members were all wearing Green Bay apparel during the filming of his scene, and he said Moore was particularly helpful with some on-the-spot acting lessons between takes.

"It was fun, it was fun," Jennings said. "I was going in letting them know this is not what I do. I'm on the football field. That's me, that's my domain. But the cast members were great, giving me feedback. They opened their arms and helped me as much as possible and tried to make me look as good as possible."
