Criminal Minds: Here is some overnight ratings info for "A Higher Power" written by Michael Udesky and starring Joe Mantegna, Thomas Gibson, Paget Brewster, Shemar Moore, A.J. Cook, Matthew Gray Gubler and Kirsten Vangsness.

CBS opened the evening with Big Brother 9 at a lackluster (and third-place) 3.4/ 6 in the overnights at 8 p.m. So long, James. But lead-out Criminal Minds perked up to a healthy (and second-place) 8.8/14 at 9 p.m., followed by CSI: NY at an also dominant 8.3/14 at 10 p.m. (All times are Eastern).

“Idol” picked up strength in the 9 o’clock hour, with a 7.0/17, 18.0 million viewers overall. “Criminal Minds” (3.3/8, 13.1 million viewers overall) was on par with its post-strike debut from a week ago while ABC’s “Supernanny” (2.2/5, 5.7 million viewers overall) performed better than NBC’s repeat of “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” (1.5/4, 5.1 million viewers overall).
