Criminal Minds "Empty Planet" airs this evening starring Mandy Patinkin, Shemar Moore, Thomas Gibson, Matthew Gray Gubler, Kirsten Vangsness and A.J. Cook. Great episode.

This is a great episode and I love Morgan in this.

And Reid's jumper surely deserves some kind of award? Possibly the worst thing he has ever worn.

(I'm going to find out that it is actually MGG's own jumper aren't I?)

Yeah

God I can't remember the outfit, but he does have some bad ones, doesn't he? Reid I mean. I think, unlike the glasses, the clothes aren't Matthews own style, except the socks. When he showed us his closet on the DVD I didn't see any sweater vests, etc. Off the wall question, do you think wardrobe supplies the socks on the show, or does he just wear what he put on that morning?

Lora Lee: You crack me up. This is a really good episode.

Maybe that should be his tagline:

Dr. Spencer Reid and the vile knitwear of justice.

I liked this episode because Luke from American Dreams was in it..but I also remember it didn't have a ton of Matthew..a little but not a ton.

I am looking forward to this one and to the brand new one tomorrow.

It's on at 10 est, right? This is one I haven't seen, because my tape got eaten. So I'm doubling up this week -- yayyyyyyyy! (Does the Kermit the Frog happy dance)

Great big Morgan hugs for everyone!!

I suppose it says something bad about me that I covet portions of Reid's wardrobe.

Especially that olive green velvet/corduroy jacket....

But not most of the knitwear, it's true.

In fairness, Gideon also has awful sweaters! Maybe he's just emulating his role model.

(This is a particularly good strip of caps, I think.)

elizabethbear - I am with you on the jacket. And I can even see the point to the tank tops (sweater vests) - they keep you nice and warm without restricting your arms too much. But the combination of patterns and those jumpers ...

(We should hope for a festive edition of Criminal Minds - bet Reid has a fine collection of Christmas jumpers, with snowflakes and reindeer on them etc.)

I love these caps -- sooo nice! But does anyone but me want to say, "Hey, Morgan, you just contaminated your cell phone."

I should not look at caps. I see too many silly details. That doesn't mean I'm going to stop, of course ...

Great caps!

I can totally see Reid emulating Gideon with the sweaters--they both have some awful ones, although on Reid, they are kind of sweet.

I really hate the red, zip-up sweater Gideon wears--I'd much rather see him in a black t-shirt like he is wearing in some of the caps.

nebula--

I would kill to see the Christmas sweaters.

Actually, the big fluffy "Dad sweater" Reid is wearing in parts of Fear & Loathing... if I had one like that, you would never get me out of it! It looks like Shetland wool.

We need to design a sweater for Reid and beg the lady who did the socks to do it for us.

Mandy does seem to be tormented by bad sweaterage.
I just recently got Dead Like me on DVD and in it he talks about being forced to wear horrible sweaters.
I wonder what it is about him that makes wardrobe people say "hmmmm theres a man that needs to put on a bulky brown sweater"?

elizabethbear - yes, I liked that cardigan. It looks like the kind of thing you wear when you aren't feeling too good and need clothes that hug you.

*coughs loudly* TPTB - can we get to see Reid in a Christmas sweater please? We promise not to laugh

Just remember, in a few years everyone’s clothes will look goofy in hindsight. Reid is actually ahead of his time, and his style will be back “in” before everyone else’s.

I also look at the details in the caps, since my dog likes to bounce in front of the tv at critical moments. Lin, if you noticed the gloves and the cell, did you notice the logos and decorations of various coffee cups? I think Garcia has an old “Far Side”, I cannot read Gideon’s.

OOOoh, good eye! I would definitely agree there's a strong possibility of that being a Far Side mug. Fits perfectly, doesn't it?

I love it!

It's been theorized here before that Reid's put in bulky vests and other sweaters so that he doesn't look quite so much like he'll blow away. MGG is VERY slender, and a bit more clothing up top kind of balances him out.

Of course a Reid ep without any clothing (shower scene? [perk]) would be quite lovely. No need for sweaters there! Or robes. Or towels.... Naked target practice, anyone?

I just like watching Reid - sweater, no sweater - he is just so yummy

I really liked this episode, especially when Reid is reading superfast and the professor is amazed.

Matthew Gray Gubler is such an amazing actor. I just love him.

Lizapest, I remember that part on the Dead Like Me DVD, too! He just isn't a sweater man!

I saw Hotchner smile at Garcia. Albeit a small one, but he does smile every now and then! lol.

I agree, Reid looks sort of cute in some of those sweaters that would otherwise look totally odd! But Reid alwayyyyyyyyyyyys looks cute so I guess I'm biased! haha. I would so knit a sweater for him, really! lol. And I really enjoyed Garcia and Morgan in this ep. Funny as always!

Reid wouldn't be half as cute if his clothes weren't so bad.

Say what you will about Reid's clothes -- at least they're pretty consistent. I love the flashbacks in "Revelations" where we see young Reid and he's got pretty much the same clothes and haircut. He *always* looks as if a neglectful mother has let him dress himself.

Really great episode. I want to adopt Shemar.

Loved the episode. I had never seen it before.

Well written and acted episode. The suspense was high in this one and Shemar is soo the man of the show!

Great episode for sure.

I liked this episode, mostly because of the whole Seattle thing, but I'd like to know why Reid and Gideon spent half the episode in that lady's office.
