pizza *black* - wtf???

I think I was thinking place and block and somehow typed black.

And I proof-read it. Honest.

It's late. I average five hours kip per night. I need 6-ish. Brain = fried.

Urgh. At least I might bag the top of the new page and feed my ego in the process.

You're right he's not camping, but I see no reason why he wouldn't be able to handle the task of camping in a cabin in the woods. Last time I checked he was pretty smart man. I bet he knows how to fish too. When he asked Morgan about the retreat it wasn't because he didn't know what a camping retreat is, it's because he wanted to know exactly what they were doing on this particular retreat because he was trying to determine how the unsub was going to poison them.

Finally, we're just having some fun in here and nobody is serious about the things they're throwing out there. Lighten up and toss some fun ideas of your own out there for why Hotch is running around in casual wear with a beard. It's all in fun. The real reason will be disclosed soon enough.

TG tweeted a great picture of him and JM. Instead of Tweet The Feet Tuesday, he labeled it Tweet The Beard Tuesday. Personally I love the look, but I happen to love the clean shaven suited man look to so it's all good for me.

I just don't see Hotch as a wilderness person or camper. Besides, Jack is only five years old, he will probably turn six a week or two before the premier of the new season but I think that is still a little young for camping. Another year or two and maybe joining the cub scouts before going camping.
I think that Hotch is in New York on an undercover assignment and needing to look scruffy in order to infiltrate the gang or group that Doyle or whomever is heading up. He is trying to get his team back into shape.

Teresa H. said...

christy,
I have no idea about whether Hotch knows about camping, until you mentioned it I had never even thought about it, but he just might be out trying to live up to Haley's request that he do some fun things with Jack. Granted there are other fun things he could be doing.
Blimey's post reminded me: I will be in NYC this August, don't even want to think about the temps.
I'm going to a production of Macbeth that is really amazing. I have already seen it 3 times here in the Boston area a couple of years ago. It's called Sleep No More. It's the story of Macbeth with a Hitchcock/1920's,30's aesthetic. There is no dialogue, the whole thing is interpreted through movement/dance. There is music and sound effects. It's wonderfully creepy. It's staged on 6 floors of an old warehouse and is totally interactive. The audience moves around the building
which has been converted to partially represent an hotel from the 20/30's following an actor/character or just hanging out in one of the many rooms which are all meticulously detailed stage sets of their own. I played pool with one of the characters on one of my visits. You, the audience member exploring these rooms might be the only action, you can let your imaginaion go wild, which considering what I read here is no problem for the TZ's. Some rooms look like scary wards in an old psychiatric hospital, another might be a nursery with an empty cradle, or an office with all kinds of interesting things on the desk. Each time I went I saw something different. The withches are fantastic as are all the characters, the actors are all so athletic and move so beautifully. All the audience members wear white masks which adds to the athmospherics.
The production originated with a British theatre company called Punch Drunk and they are involved in this production.
If you get a chance go see it.
You can check it out on Google.
I'm so excited, I can't wait.

That's the spirit! I like it. : )

Perhaps Hotch grew the scruff because he was ready to get out there and date. He knew Rossi could pull the ladies so he thought he would try some facial hair too.
I know it's lame but hey it's hot as Hades here.

Velandra said...

I think Hotch and Reid made a bet that they both lost, hence Reids hair and Hotchs beard. Yes highly unlikely I know but it could happen.

Teresa: my husband looked at me last night and told me to go to CVS for the choc. Apparently I've been in my CM bubble and lost touch... Also hot as Hades us putting it lightly, I feel like I'm suffocating everytime I walk out the door.

Velandra said...

I meant is. Sorry didn't proof

gubegirl said...

Teresa H. You're right, that's lame but, hey, I have no brain cells that work when it's hot & humid, either-hah! It's under 80 here and the humidity has dropped. Quite nice if you would like to visit, you are welcome:)

If Hotch got lucky enuf to get a date, I have no doubt he'd be shaving his face 10 minutes before he walked out the door because the man is meticulous. The beard is def OOC but it is tantalizing us because we are such Fanatics...we think we must know everything all the time!

BTW, play sounds wonderful.

I think christy z's idea that he could be undercover is a good one...we want to know that Doyle is going down like, ASAP. If Hotch helps make that happen, I'm OK with it. Prefer Morgan because I think he and Prentiss will get back on track faster, but I'm sure that it will all work out. I haven't seen any close-ups, but Blimey's geologist description turns me off totally.

Erica looks quite petite between Garcia and JJ, doesn't she? JJ looks so slim and beautiful, she is a doll.

Now, the Gube with some facial hair, that's a dif story. He had just enuf in Monte Carlo to look REALLY good and it goes with his touseled hair look. But, he shaves and puts his tie back on for the read-thru, because he IS the Gube and that's the Gube look - dressed as a child by his grandma (LOL) who passed all his Grandpa's clothes (sweaters & purple scarf are his fave) to the Gube when he died...they're in that tiny closet in that tiny apt he lives in with the ghost of the director who hung himself in that very closet. Oh, my. I am recanting this all as I recall it...starting with the orig.
S-1 DVD extras to last month's ghost story show. Oh, my. I have managed to spook myself. Poor Gube. No wonder he works so much...he tries to stay out of the apt and on the road whenever poss. Afraid to add to his wardrobe for fear he will have to open the closet door to put new clothes away....Poor thing, he really needs to come stay at my place so that I can keep him safe...

Is Rossi looking more salt & pepa the way we like? Such a dear but elegant looking man...love him. I don't want to pinch his cheeks but I still love him. Heck, I love them all.

OK, you guys, that's all. I really do have work to do. You are all too irresistible to ignore. When I scroll down and see a hike in the # of posts, I go "Whee!" and jump right in. What is the matter with us???

Teresa H. said...

We is just having some fun with our fellow CM nutters. I'm the same, I was all excited when I saw that the posts had really jumped this evening.
OK back to the grill and dinner.

Teresa H. said...

P.S.
Yes, I think Rossi/Joe is a little more salt and pepper, looks so good.

Velandra said...

Gubegirl/Teresa: I would have to agree w/ you guys that there is def. something sexy and distinguished about a man w/ a bit of grey. I wouldn't mind seeing how TG looks w/ a bit of grey.

CMFAN11 said...

@ Teresa H.

Thanks for stereotyping us Texans lol I'm completely kidding promise, just think it's funny everyone from other states think we're all cowboys/cowgirls lol

BTW: Your actually pretty correct, since there are more rural communities and counties in TX than alot of other states.

Ok back on track.....I think it would be awesome if Hotch is undercover to infiltrate Doyle's gang. But just to further discussion and throw another idea out there. Wouldn't Doyle know whp he was since he knew what all the team was doing the night he met prentiss at that table w/ coffee? And gain an irish accent? lol

My major is International Studies so it deals w/ studying terrorists, economics, cultures, politics, languages etc so that's where I get my reasoning.(Once again not out too offend anyone, just offering up some more ideas to discuss.

Does anyone know if TG is a native Texan? I'm curious bc he doesn't have an accent at all lol.

O lastly, it's GREAT having this blog ALL to OURSELVES. Are ya'll planning on discussing ep 7.01 here or moving 2 the new thread that might be here for it? lol

Eleven said...

I saw that pic of JM and TG and thought the former looked a bit...orange (only the face). Blimey, have you been feeding him some of your pumpkin cake? I like tg's scruff but can come up with no interesting reason for it. Maybe Morgan punched him and he's trying to hide a bruise? Ha. But his expression - i think that's tg being tg - goofing around per usual.

If undercover - why not try the corsette look, eh? He has been there done that. The very thought makes me laugh - Hotch U/C as a woman :-O

Eleven said...

CMF11 - TG is from Charleston i think (?). Poss his wife's family is where they are now.

Teresa H. said...

CMFAN11,
As I was writing that about the cowboys I was thinking "this is a bit of blatant stereotyping" and I was wondering if you might have a reaction. Please forgive :(
TG is actually from Charleston, SC. There's an episode of Dharma and Greg where he speaks with a southern accent, I think it's somewhere in S2, it's on YouTube if you were interested.
It is fun to hang out here and chat. When it comes time to discuss 7.1 I think this thread will be way too far down the line, but I say let's worry about that when the time comes.
I did suggest that if ever the crazies come back and try to mess things up for us on another thread we call for help by writing in TZ and then come back down here to our hidey hole. That's if Jill does not shut us down for going way off the mark.
By the way Jill, I hope you're getting a little kick out of our silliness :)
Thanks again for letting us go on.

Thomass is not Texan, he was born and grew up in Charlston South Carolina. His wife, Christine, is native to Texas and they live there to be close to her family. He didn't mention it this year but last year he twittered about going to South Carolina and swimming in the ocean at Hilton Head.

Teresa H. said...

Eleven,
Yes, I think that was definitely TG under that scruff in that particular photo. Not as attractive close up I thought.
Oh, how bad am I, how can I say that about our lovely man?
And yes, I believe his wife grew up in San Antonio.
Night night all.

christyzachman said...

Accidently hit enter, but there is a book that is published yearly and most research libraries have it. It is a book of all books published that year and there is also a book of all books still in print in a particular year. Many libraries use these reference books to purchase for their collections.
I find it fascinating.

christyzachman said...

I noticed the first half of the comments were published. I was talking about that I seem to elaborate more on knowing Tom's life and it may look like my obsession is more stalking but I have a degree in History and have learned about doing research and looking for information about people. Many people do the common ways but there are other things to look at. Many in the research libraries and foundations around. They have to be forthcoming in their truth to the knowledge. I was talking about the Fisher King, when Reid asked Garcia if there was a database that listed all of the books published in a year. There is nothing on-line about that but there is a more that is published and sent to libraries for research and they also use them to determine what books to add to their collections that year.

CMFAN11 said...

@ Teresa H: It's completely cool! Don't sweat it fellow TZ/CM fanatic.

Us Texans are just very prideful about our state, so it's kind of a knee jerk reaction lol. But I wasn't meaning it at all rude towards you so don't worry bout it ;)

That's not 2 say that other states in the US aren't great either tho.

Why in the world are AJ cook/ KV in a mansion? I cannot wait 2 see how this location has 2 do w/ ep 7.01. Maybe it's ambassador prentisses?

Also thanks for answering my question about where TG is from guys, my curiosity is now satisfied lol

CMFAN11 said...

O I almost forgot.

Ok Hotchettes here's another one since I don't kno as much bout hotch since I am a straight guy and pay more attention 2 JJ lol

Does hotch have any undercover background experience? I don't think he does does he?

I would really like 2 learn more about Hotch/ Rossi's past and Garcia's since they've taken a back seat 2 the rest of the team in past season's.

Eleven said...

Dunno whether hotch was ever u/c, CMF11, but the way they've developed his backstory he might have been an u/c president or an astronaut or James Bond's arch enemy.

Teresa, TG unattractive? Shocking! tsk tsk (i kid of course). (meanwhile, i've finished another book - have you read 'a short history of tractors in ukrainian'?)

Teresa H. said...

Eleven,
No, can't say I have read either "a short histoty of tractors in ukranian" or a book written in ukranian called " a short history of tractors". LOL
The first title sounds very funny, the other option I'm afraid would be beyond me. Let me know and I'll check it out.
Talking about books: I recently read all of Armistead Maupin's books. He wrote the "Tales of The City" series, the first 3 of which were made into the TV series. (For those who don't know TG played a nasty character on that series.)
I love them, I had never heard of Maupin before. Being obsessed with CM/TG is actually educational.
Re. the face fuzz:
Perhaps Hotch has been on retreat for the past 4 months, dealing with his grief/guilt and reassessing his life. Growing a beard was therapeutic, a way to separate from the stern, shut down man he had become. Not sure how they find him or why they interrupt his time away.

CMFAN11 said...

@ Eleven:
Haha right? He could really have done anything considering we know bits & pieces of his past. Which are not correct time and age wise 2 say the least lol

Here's a spoiler from Ausiello:

Question: Do you have any spoilers on Criminal Minds, specifically regarding A.J. Cook’s (JJ) or Paget Brewster’s (Prentiss) returns? —Valerie

Ausiello: Not only is JJ back, but she gets a promotion! And re: Prentiss, much of the team does not handle finding out that she is still alive well, especially Dr. Reid, who feels betrayed.

gubegirl said...

You're kidding me! Reid? Our sweet and soft hearted Reid? No way! THAT will be a surprise. It sounds like the writers are trying to make some changes to surprise us...make us sit up and take notice?

Better this way than to bring in the refreshments...I mean the replacements, so I will take it:)

Hotch: beard

Morgan: not angry re: Prentiss (?)

Reid: feeling betrayed (when have we ever seen him act like that?

JJ: tough (er) (OK as long as she is still JJ as we know her - that's what we have been missing...)

Off to walk dogs and jazzercise.

Later, guys.

CMFAN11 said...

Thanks for the spoiler SF.

Although I don't consider that a promotion bc she was already there equal. I think of it more as a opportunity to showcase different talents, well newly acquired talents lol. I'm interested 2 see how she does and I'm glad the team will be upset and it won't be bland and predictable and automatically be ok.

Eleven said...

Sf, resident investigator extraordinaire, thank you once again! But somehow i'm dreading any badly handled drama on screen. Hope they don't drag things out. You know what'd happen if Reid is angry with Prentiss/Hotch/JJ - more of 'i hate this character for the way he/she behaved towards x/y/z'. Much of S6 lacked subtlety and the reaction from the fans has also been extreme sometimes, don't you think? Really don't want them to go down that road again.

Gubegirl - Reid - poor thing - has had too many betrayals. Think it has all added up and he is feeling overwhelmed (not that any of them has had an easy life).

Teresa, haven't read Maupin - should check the tales out then? tg obsession being educational - HMMMM (nope, not going there).

Have a Beauchamp Day everyone (or not)! sleazy ^*(&-&*

sf81387 said...

I think that it would be okay for them to be upset when they first hear the news, because it would be upsetting at first. But I think that most adults in a job like theirs would be able to come to grips with why things had to be the way they were fairly quickly so I hope they don't drag this out beyond the first episode.

I also don't want to a bunch of ridiculous melodrama over this. There are fans who want so badly to see Morgan punch Hotch over it. I don't ever want to see that. It would be too sad. They are too good together for something that hideous to happen.

Dayne posted a picture of Morgan in what looked like a court room yesterday. He appeared to be all alone at the defense table. Hmmm....

Blimey Limey said...

I reckon we're safe here from the nutters. People like that are seeking instant gratification, so are more likely to go for the threads near the top which are discussing hot off the press CM issues.

We're lurking way down the blog, tucked safely out of the way and unless they've got the brains to check the changing number of posts on each thread I reckon we can stay undercover. My undercover beard ain't growing though! ;-))

@ CMFAN11:

I think it was San Antonio where those 3.5lb cinnamon rolls were on that TV show. They looked fabulous!

The closest I'll get to those babies is at the Frontier in ABQ, I'll be needing the energy to Break Bad! Blame Gubegirl for her recommendation... ;-))

@ Gubegirl:

Trust me, if that fur doesn't get shaved off TG's face by the end of the week he'll be contractually obliged to buy one of those stupid hard hats and go wandering around the countryside (admittedly with the San Andreas Fault nearby you can't get much better) brandishing a hammer and collecting random samples of rock which all look identical. ;-))

@ sf81387 & Eleven (the latter dead/alive/cryogenically frozen...):

I'd suspected Reid would be the one to take Prentiss' return hardest, based on:

1). Previous abandonments such as his by father & Gideon (the latter being probably more of a perception on Reid's part).

2). The way he was so upset when she "died" - and then there was that later scene where he appeared to have been 'scriking in the bog' when Morgan walked in.

** The first person to translate that beautiful bit of language gets TEN Limey Points! Ha! **

The undercover thing sounds plausible, it would certainly explain the face fuzz - although the walking boots and outdoor clothes still scream Rock Hound to me.

I'll start working on a better theory - although being undercover or CBA shaving while suspended are my current favourites...

Blimey Limey said...

@ sf81387;

Agreed. I'd like to see some members of the team being understandably angry - to varying degrees - but fisticuffs aren't necessary.

gubegirl said...

Blimey, you are so funny, I wish you were visiting SD-we would s-o-o-o have such a blast! I would spring for the Patrone and we would have the best girl's nite, ending with our watered-down margaritas (after a good soak in the jacuzzi) in the recliners in front of CM reruns, picking them apart, in between mopping up each other's drool!

I am trying NOT to 'resemble' that Rock Hound title: when I was a kid in Tucson, I was a total rock hound and collected "iron" with my little magnet, keeping it in a coffee can. My cousins and I would compete to see who had the most, and whoever was losing, would throw up their hands, proclaim that iron was useless, and go sift in the desert for sand rubies!

Oh, those were the days!

I say, we send CMFan11 out to scout the Gibson household to get the scoop. Mr. Mrs. Gibson prob'ly skype in the eves and CMFan11 can peek thru the windows to spy on her, the way the Gube and JJ did on Tobias Henckle (sp?)in Revelation.) Wouldn't you jump on that assignment, oh, token TZ man??!! LOL

I still can't see Reid getting angry at Emily; I get that he would feel very hurt but he is too gentle a soul too stay angry. Just mho.

sf, I love that you are feeding us these spoilers. Why would Morgan be at a defense table? You think re: the "why we killed Doyle" situ?

Are you saying that you are reading somewhere that there are people suggesting Morgan might try to punch Hotch out over the Prentiss secret? How immature are these people?

I say we stay in this "hidey hole" as long as Jill will allow ...there is no way I want to deal with these ignoramouses. This is the only place I blog so maybe I am naive, but why would you want to subject yourself to that kind of s--- if you can come here and brainstorm, bounce ideas off ea. other (in between recipes!) share the news and more importantly, SHARE THE LOVE of our CM family. Geez. It never ceases to amaze me that there are such loonies out there but I think that being able to post anon. encourages it. Texting, social networking, etc. allow people to be so impersonal and they have become downright ruthless, saying things that they were never say face to face or if they were having an in-person convo. It has become too easy to say whatever, with no thought of accountability or consequences.

I hate that part of it altho' I have to admit that if texting went away, I might not talk much to my kids - hah!
But I draw the line at Facebooking, etc. Also, because I do not have the time and it is such an addiction!

Gotta hit the showers with my sweaty dancing self. Have a great one, y'all!

sf81387 said...

Why would Morgan be at a defense table? You think re: the "why we killed Doyle" situ?

Well supposedly in the first episode there is a Senate committee investigating a case that the BAU team botched so I'm going to guess that it's Morgan's turn to testify to the committee.

Velandra said...

I'm w/ sf and Blimey I don't want to see Morgan punch Hotch. I also don't understand why any fans would want to see Morgan resort to anything so juvenile. He is a proffesional FBI agent and the thought that he wouldn't be able to grasp that what was done had to be done is beyond me. I'm sure he'll be upset and maybe wonder why they didn't trust him enough to tell him. IMO though (and hopefully the writers) he'll be mature enough to deal w/ it understand and move on.

CMFAN11 said...

WOW! They have SOOOO much going on in 7.01. Between flashbacks, going to court, a senator investigating them, killing doyle, brinigng back JJ & Prentiss. And explaining how to get them back in a good realistic way that makes sense, the writers better have put EVERYTHING into this episode.

How in the world is it possible for them 2 fit the groundwork for the trial/investigation of their messed up case, and get prentiss and JJ back AND kill Doyle in a way that makes sense?

Ugh the suspense is killing me.

I'm thinking the trial is for the screwed up case bc doyle has 2 be killed in ep 7.01. But you never know with the writers so it could be a trial for killing Doyle.

@ Gubegirl:

Unfourtanetly, San Antonio is about 3 hrs away fom where I am so no luck there sorry :). Also Texas cops are hardcore and will pull you over for the smallest things so it'd be hard 2 get past them lol stupid Nazi's lol

@ Blimey:

Good for you! Glad you enjoyed it, hope your enjoying your trip and TX if you stop by on your trip 2 the other side of the pond. Try our TX steak and BBQ if you get a chance.

Blimey Limey said...

It sounds like 7.01 is going to be a packed episode - I hope everything fits in, but isn't too rushed or jumbled. It's quite a tall order, but muchos respect if they pull it out of the hat.

I think MGG's apartment ghost is on "vacation" - my freezer turned itself off from the INSIDE tonight. You have to press a button right in to turn it off - and it had been. It's quite tricky to get to, so it can't be done accidentally. Seems to be working OK now. Weird!

@ Teresa H:

Meant to say your play sounds like good stuff - Shakespeake minus dialogue means I'd actually stand a chance of understanding it!

@ Gubegirl:

Ha! Wish our second year geophysics (compulsory module = bleugh!) lecturer had looked like TG avec beard. We'd (well, the all girls and one lad) would have been yelling MOOOOOAAAAARR at 9am on a Wednesday morning, instead of taking in magazines to keep us amused/awake.

Nothing wrong with the occasional spot of rockhounding - as a kid I remember being very impressed with a most boring chunk of rock I'd brought back from Switzerland purely because it was from an altitude of over 10,000 feet. Still got it somewhere, I think.

And... one day I *WILL* have kitchen worktops made from Shap granite!

@ CMFAN11:

Send some Texan cops over here - they'd soon sort the place out!

11 days to go until I cross that little Pond. If you see a mad woman looking in puzzlement at the big yellow thing in the sky while a cinnamon roll dangles from her mouth - that'll be me!

However, all I'd need to do is master the accent and y'all would never know.

**Evil laugh of doom**

Yeah, it's gone midnight - again.

Yeah, I didn't go to sleep before midnight yesterday either.

Urgh.

CMFAN11 said...

Good luck blimey, although it takes alot of exposure to gain a believable, genuine southern accent, especially Texan. lol think of it like learning a foreign language lol hahahaha

BTW: You've GOT to stop by the TX Roadhouse, it's the biggest steakhouse around and any near BBQ restuarant, and it'd be wrong of me not to tell you 2 try Tex-Mex it's awesome! lol

I forgot to add to my previous post tht I'm DYING to know how they do all this in an hour time limit!

Impress me CM, writers, crew, producers bc if this daring full episode doesn't work out and the team doesn't have contionuity from last season's storylines I will be highly pissed off.

Velandra said...

Your all right that's a pretty tall order for 7.01. After the debacle of last year I'm wary (at best) that they can pull it off (believably). Then again maybe I'll be happily surprised. I'm exhausted so best I can do right now is agree. I'm sure tom. After some rest and coffee I'll have a couple of my own opinions to share. Until then night y'all (figured it'd be ok to get in on the Texan thing too?)

Teresa H. said...

Just got home and having fun reading all your posts.
Blimey, I'm assuming bog means toilet or as our US cousins here call it bathroom. Although I get away with "loo" all the time.
I don't remember the scene where Morgan finds our lovely genius hiding out there. If I'm right it's a bit of a cheat, if I'm wrong then it's embarrassing
The picture definitely looks like it's in some kind of hearing. I immediately assumed the investigation into the botched case. I'm assuming (again) that the botched case is the whole Prentiss/Doyle debacle. Perhaps there should be an investigation by a committee of concerned fans into the bothced writing of S6. Who wants to chair it? No, let's be done with it.
Oh, poor Reid. I can understand why he might feel betrayed and I think he would be the one least likely to understand that this is the way things happen sometimes in jobs like theirs.
I could understand Morgan getting into it with Hotch, but hopefully stopping short of fisticuffs. Could not imagine that people would be gleeful about it though. But considering some of the attitude we've seen lately it's very possible. There have been some tense scenes, small power struggles between them before. Then, because I saw it recently, I remember that scene at the end of the S4 opener where they have a conversation about trusting each other.
But really I want to see this over with soon. I wouldn't even care if there were some continuity gaps, they would not be the first, in the interests of getting us back on track.
OK off to check out what CM delight is on TV, have you noticed I checked in with all of you first.

Velandra said...

Blimey: crying in the toilet...... Do I get the ten Limey points? I'll split them w/ Teresa since she got the bit about the toilet right :)

christyzachman said...

I disagree about the problem with the case, I don't think it has anything to do with what happened to Prentiss but is a completely new and different case. They discover her being alive during the case which could be why it became a problem. They began to focus on her rather than on the true victim and unsub of the case. Of course, Reid is most upset, he was most upset when learning of ther 'death'. He didn't get to say goodbye. He has lost many in his life and is upset at the loss of her and that he couldn't say goodbye and tell her how he feels. I am not surprised that he would feel most betrayed and upset by the decision to kill her off and not inform him. The young man is extremely sensitive to that.

CMFAN11 said...

Yes of course velandara! Your welcome, to join in.

CMFAN11 said...

I just hope they can pull it off and didn't set their sights 2 high. That's a high standard 2 try and pull off after the screw up S6 was.

Teresa H. said...

Velamdra,
I think the Blimey points are all yours. I ignored the "scriking" part and went straight to the potty talk so to speak and I did not know the meaning of "scriking".
Watched the 2nd half of a CBS rerun, too much Seaver for my taste and on ION is that awful one where the unsub is disembowelling his victims and then making them clean up. I know it has a great Hotchalanche and then there's the bartender with whom Reid has a little something, a bit inappropriate but nice to see some acknowledgement that he's not just all brain. There is some life south of his cranium.
So I'm off to dreamland. G'night.

CMFAN11 said...

Oops I'm such an idiot lol the "mansion" well at least what I thought was is actually a court room at a more thorough glance. And apparently the team is all there 2 testify. Also, I think that the case will have 2 do with Doyle and prentiss. But I can also see that the team might have screwed up a case bc they found out about prentiss.

Also I can't believe I'm going 2 say this but after catching the last 30 minutes of the stranger I kinda miss Seaver. Gahhh what am I saying lol maybe she could just guest star in one episode later in the season and never be seen or heard from again.

Although I really disliked her character and still do. She suprisingly kinda grew on me. But please CM producers ONE ep is enough, I don't want her 2 b a regular again. I won't be happy if they make that mistake twice.

gubegirl and Limey: Took the EC to Scrabble club tonight and it got rave reviews. One of the girls asked to take the leftover home.

Thanks for the spoiler sf.

I always thought Reid would feel the most betrayed by the Prentiss situation but I've also always thought Morgan would come to grips with it the easiest since he was undercover himself. He knows lies have to be told and he also lied to his aunt about his cousin's death so I think those things would make this easier for him to accept.

Hello my fine furry friends!

Ehhhhh, i think i might be guilty of putting the 'Morgan punching Hotch' idea out there (well, at least on this thread - not gone anywhere else). I promise you i was joking (hunting for a reason behind tg's fuzzface!!). Think it would be asinine if the writers make the Morgan character behave that way. He may be hotheaded but he is mature, intelligent, sensitive and perceptive.

Teresa, that scene at the end of 'Mayhem' is one of my favourites b/w the two characters. It's tense, yes, but also revealing. A few seconds at most, but captures the essence of the two men and their loyalty to each other.

And what is the caption you're ref to, TH? i can't check Twitter right now and if you don't tell me now i'm going to cry (sniffle).

You're a riot, Blimey!

Teresa H. said...

OK Eleven,
The photo shows Hotch on a 2 way radio, face fuzz, bullet proof vest and all, standing in a rugged landscape with what looks like a military tent behind him. TG's caption is "NO, HALF Pepperoni, HALF Anchovy". I think I got it right.
Now I really have to go. Putting the face on takes longer every day.

Eleven said...

:-D :-D TGfTG indeed. Thanks T! and have a good day ahead - yeah, i think i've started to dread seeing myself in the mirror in the morning. one of these days i'm gonna scare myself.

Velandra said...

Eleven(in all incarnations): it was a interesting theory. I believe there are probably a few Morgan crazies (i.e.) the ones from the other thread that probably wouldn't mind that at all. I don't think Morgan would ever do anything so childish. I agree that he is usually sensitive, sweet and incredibly loyal. I say usually b/c last season he was just angry. I also would never go for anything that would mar TGs lovely face.

I don't think the case the Senate committee is investigating has anything to do with the Prentiss/Doyle stuff. They are going to show the case they botched via flashbacks so I think it's just another one of their cases and for some reason things went bad for them. I think the botched case most likely has everything to do with why they've all been off doing other things though.

The picture of TG is interesting. The big military looking tent behind him, the two-way radio he's using and the almost desert like conditions around him make me wonder where in the heck he is. Also his Kevlar vest doesn't say FBI on it.

According to one of the make-up gals the beard will be gone after the first episode and yes, he is still the Unit Chief.

There really seems to be a lot going on in this episode. Any chance the premiere is going to be 2 hours?

Here's a couple of pictures from yesterday. The first one is a very nice team photo one of the crew tweeted and the second is the photo of TG on the radio in the desert-like setting. Not sure if the link for the second one will show up though. It's kind of long.

Yep I agree SF. Do you know if they'll be showing flashbacks 2 get prentiss back? Since your such an awesome investigator.

And they should totally have a 2 hour Season premiere. It'd be awesome and they could work out alot of kinks in their storylines more effectively and take care of alot of unresolved storylines/issues.

Cmfan11: about your Seaver guest star ep. Please no.... I had enough Seaver to last me the rest of my life. No matter how much time passes her character will never be believable to me. Also I've never been a fan of her acting style. That said if you must see her I guess I could live w/ it, only for a one ep. guest star though :). Speaking of Seaver RN was on the ESPYS last night. That was the last thing I expected to see.
Why do the Emmys keep overlooking CM? Ideas anyone?

CMFAN11 said...

@ Velandara:
Yea I agree w/ ONE, and she never set foot on a CM set again. And only ONCE and as a GUEST STAR. Definitely not a regular.

That's what I ment by my previous post about her. I don't want her as a regular again. My psych can't deal w/ that again. I LOVE the cast the way it is NOW. There's absolutely no reason to dig up her as a regular again.

BTW: I'm not yelling at you when I caps stuff. I'm just using it to make a point just incase someone important in the CM production or writers doesn't get that idea at alll.

Honestly now that I think about it, it wouldn't be that wise for the producers and writers to do that bc it'd piss fans off. No reason to bring back those crazy Seaver fans to this blog lol or worrying if she'll be a regular again.

At Teresa h:
Ordinarily I could care less about award shows. I just saw an article and realized she wasn't nominated so I wasn't happy. But like you said screw award shows they have us great fans instead. Although I don't get why they snub them tho? Any ideas ppl

Criminal Minds apparently too violent for New Zealand viewers. Can you guess which two episodes from season six were deemed by the Broadcasting Standards Authority to be too violent for the 8:30 PM timeslot?

http://t.co/9gCVXMC

CMFAN11 said...

"Rememberance of things past" & "Devils Night"?

Check mate Sf lol

They do need 2 tone dwon the violence. "The Thirteenth Step" was waaaayyy 2 graphic.

I hope they don't show the unsub's face till the end when the team figures it out next season and it's also less violent.

sf81387 said...

I think the fact that Criminal Minds doesn't candy-coat the violence is what sets it apart from many other procedurals. It's a very dark, violent and disturbing show that showcases the very worst of humanity and I wouldn't want them to ever change that.

However I do agree that there were times last season when it went beyond showing the necessary twistedness of the crimes to give the episodes the desired affect and ventured into sensationalizing the crimes to boost the ratings.

The violence got a bit gratuitious at times last season, especially the victim being burned alive. That along with lengthy car chases and things going boom all over the place was part of them attempting to attract that younger demographic they're so hot for.

Hopefully they will back off of that and just continue to be dark and disturbing and violent, but not excessively so. I really don't want to ever see the show get lighter.

Velandra said...

The thirteenth step wouldn't happen to be one.... Would it? There where more people dead before the opening credits than in a whole season of CM.

CMFAN11 said...

Yea I don't either. I'm glad they've been realistic about it and I don't mind it being graphic. But "The Thirteenth Step" crossed the line.

I want it to go back to season's 1-5 of showing the crimes, serial killers etc. It was just right then. Last season went a bit over the line. But I forgive them lol

Blimey Limey said...

It's Friday - and I'm still awake! It's only a matter of time before I crash into that wall.

And... I'm feeling generous, so it's Limey points all round. Had an amusing hour with the techies at work today looking up geeky stuff on youtube a la Nyan Cat and similar - hence the good mood.

I'm going to learn to knit, just so I can make myself a Nyan Cat scarf!

Scriking - a random NW English word that's so random not many people in my corner of NW England use it. I understand the term thanks to work colleagues from elsewhere in the region, but don't actually say it.

Bog - They say you can judge a nation by its slang. Seeing as we have numerous unsavory terms for getting drunk, throwing up, the toilet (including bog!) and all manner of bodily functions, it doesn't really say a lot about the nation. Dirty little island indeed!

The clip in question was after a briefing where it was suggested the unsub was schiziphrenic ("Friends like these" - I think, off the top of my head). Reid was sat there looking really edgy and Morgan had noticed. A few minutes later Morgan walked into the little boys' room (see, I can do polite) to find Reid washing his face and still looking edgy. They had a chat about Prentiss "dying" and the headaches.

There was a clip on youtube with which I refreshed my little brain.

There was no direct evidence to show Reid had been scriking ;-)) but I took the implication to be that he was struggling to keep a lid on his emotions so disappeared somewhere more private to regain control. I could be wrong, but that was how I read it at the time.

That's why I reckon Reid will be "off" with Prentiss when she returns - he probably felt/feels guilty for not doing anything to help when he realised something was bothering her, and now will find out he's been carrying those unnecessary feelings around for months.

@ Pat:

There's no such thing as too much EC - I've bought in the ingredients I was lacking so I can make one this weekend to take in for the gannets in my department next week. Marvellous stuff!

@ Teresa H:

I looked at the links. More quality photos of Hotch - although anchovies?! Urgh!

Actually, I was well impressed TG mentioned Tubthumping (top tune by Chumbawamba) - my footie team used to run out to that back in the day. AND one of the band members calls herself Alice Nutter (after a 17th century witch)! Yeah, Nutter can be a surname - which is rather unfortunate; I recall reading somewhere most Nutters changed it to Nuttall when the modern meaning took off.

@ sf81387:

I agree about the violence, and I'm a hardened veteran of all manner of TV shows and films. Less is definitely more. It's like the scene in Reservoir Dogs where that bloke gets his ear cut off. You don't see it happen, but your mind fills in the blanks - that's what made it so disturbingly effective. I also agree with Velandra - The Thirteenth Step was way over the top - worst CM episode ever, imho.

I. Will. Sleep. Before. 1am.

Goodnight, y'all...

Teresa H. said...

I'm certainly one who votes for less violence. Less is definitely more. I like the creepy lead ups to violence, we know something awful is going to happen, we perhaps hear the scream, the pleas for mercy, the thump of the blunt instrument, the squishy sound of the knife. What's up with my mind tonight? Then perhaps a glimpse of the actual violence, or a scene with a bloody body part. Creepy and dark will go a long way in setting the scene. Then let me see/hear our team do the psychological profiling, thats my favourite part, the exploration of the mind of the unsub. Each member of the team contributing per their expertise. That tension between understanding this evil/sick person but being determined to stop them. Then follow the leads to save that last victim.
We have had some episodes where we meet the unsub early on, some where we have to wait longer. There have been good and bad episodes done both ways. We have had unsubs played by name actors, I'm thinking of David Carradine, Jason Alexander, Jackson Rathbone,
these were all great episodes IMO. These actors did not outshine the team, which for me is of prime importance and even though we knew the unsub from the beginning there was still lots of tension and suspense.
Then there was that awful "13th step". I did not recognise those actors but I believe they were "names" but in this one the team took a completely back seat and there was no point in profiling, there was no secret as to who they were. Neither was I a fan of the two Tim Curry episodes, he was good but again his character overwhelmed the story. It seems to me this is all about the writing, with good writing and remaining true to the characters there can be leeway and you can play with the formula a little. If the writing is bad, the team is not showcased either in the expertise or in their moments together then the story fails to engage me. In that case not even a whole 42 mins of Hotch dominating the screen would do it for me. Well, maybe one episode but then we'd need to get back to balance. LOL

Good Fri. morning everybody.
Watched a wonderfully creepy CM last night where the unsub was embalming his victims to preserve the memory of his nanny whom he may or may not have killed. Great Edgar Allen Poe quote then at some point we see the team going up to a suspect's door in the rain with big balck umbrellas, they looked like scary bats. Wet got some funny team moments in the break room checking horoscopes. The "splenda" comment from Prentiss and then where she turns her back but we know she gives them the finger. Loved Reid's face when she's mad at him for giving them her birth info.
Yes, the essentials can be captured w/o going overboard.
Loved Reid also in his tweed jacket with the purple scarf.

Teresa: Great ep. It does have some really great moments. I also love Mercedes McNabb (last girl kidnapped) as I was a big Buffy fan in my teens. When I read your comment this a.m. And read nanny I auto. thought of grandmothers ( that's what my son calls his grandmother) I was like he wasn't kidnapping old women who looked like his grandmother and got quite confused. Then I realized my mistake. I think it was just a bit to early for my brain to function but I had a nice little laugh over it.

@Nickname, just catching up with this board:

I hate being told what to like, and having to be force fed it, while what I actually like is being shoved in a corner somewhere away from me.

Couldn't agree more. It's especially pernicious with a programme such as this where you'd have to hold serious doubts about the show makers' strength of mind / ability to stand up to the internet fans. Mass acceptability is no good guide creatively.

UK viewer

Eleven said...

I'm just curious - how is the opposite true? Pandering to the 'minority' views (whatever that means) is not by definition creative. Just because fewer people like something does not automatically make it a better, more creative, choice. I think most of us are populist or not depending on what/who we like and whether they are considered popular or not(popular taste does not have to be bad, nor does it have to be right).

We all have our pretences one way or another :-)

Anonymous said...

For the writers to bow to no view but their own would be the ideal. You can steer yourself to some extent by imagining an audience, but IMO it's wrong to take notes verbatim from internet fansites, which seems to be what has happened. That's not good entertainment (let alone art) even for the people who are getting exactly what they wanted. If there's no resistance and nothing external at all in the quality of the conception, it may as well be a masturbation fantasy. TV dinner. Slack. Easy to hand. Nothing in it.

I expect next season we'll see Hotch in trouble, Hotch being stoic, Hotch in romance, Hotch at the beach, Hotch with everything. Why not, when this is what the show has paid through the nose to secure?

'No Hotch No CM'. It's the other way around, isn't it? All Hotch and No CM. Season 5 the re-run.

I'm sorry if I come across as disillusioned about this show, its makers, the spirit of the support, but that's accurate to how I feel. Even just in behavioural terms, I don't like to see the 'loyal' fans' unpleasantness being rewarded.

Two or three last little matters, three Rs (Rossi, Reid, ridiculous hope) are holding me to the show but I doubt the writers care about the same things. I don't even know why I'm posting here. For sure I predict to be met by posters telling me what 'we' want, what 'our opinion' is. The consensus rules but you might not like it as much as you hope to.

Teresa, Velandra - are you talking about the epi with the psychic? Probably have got it completely wrong - haven't caught a Minds episode since ... i can't remember! Shameful.

Planning an evening of nostalgia with uni friend - there shall be more bombay sapphire/cheapest rum, '60s' music/rebecca black and some rilke/my poems - which of course will end in three (possibly human) beings, resembling things the cat brought in, passed out on various pieces of furniture. Saturday morning we'll swear off alcohol for life.

Teresa, I believe they are talking about "Cold Comfort" and yes that's the one with the psychic that Rossi has no tolerance for. I love the look on Reid's face when the suspect says, "I'm not the only one in town that likes to crack open a cold one."

According to one of the crew members "E!" is supposed to be on the set interviewing the cast today. I'll keep my eyes peeled for that. : )

Oh and the last I heard Jill was headed to Los Angeles to hang out with the cast and crew and deliver birthday cakes so my guess is she's doing pretty great right now (at least emotionally). : )

I feel like you might be a bit prematurely pessimistic about season 7. We have heard little bits and pieces about what they have planned for season 7, but seeing how little of what they had announced for season 6 did actually end up on-screen, I would take these pre-season predictions with a grain of salt.

And that we might get more Hotch than last season doesn't mean it will be Hotch here, Hotch there, Hotch everywhere. But there are some issues that have to be resolved before it's too late to be believable. And I don't read from it that other characters will be ignored. Hopefully, no one of the characters will be ignored. Reid needs more screentime than in the last two seasons and please, please, please Erica and whoever, give Rossi a good story-arc. Long overdue.

" 'No Hotch No CM'. It's the other way around, isn't it? All Hotch and No CM. Season 5 the re-run." Hotch is a part of CM. So, no Hotch, no CM. At least not the one most of us fell in love with and want to see. It was TG's contract that was in limbo for so long. Had it been Shemar's contract, we would have stated "No Morgan, no CM". As it happens, that was part of the slogan until Shemar signed his contract before the season finale. Fans were just voicing their opinion on the whole contract situation.

Plus, some fans just have their deal-breaker. The point when they lose interest because the show isn't anymore what it used to be. Some people left when JJ left, some when Prentiss left. Some people would leave if Reid left, I would have left if Hotch was out. That and if CM ever goes the "Without a Trace" route and has the team have romances with each other left and right. *shudders*

Eleven said...

"I expect next season we'll see Hotch in trouble, Hotch being stoic, Hotch in romance, Hotch at the beach, Hotch with everything."

I've also mentioned Hotch in a corsette.

We have seen Reid in trouble, Reid being a genius, Reid in romance, Reid at the beach. We have seen Morgan in trouble, Morgan being hotheaded, Morgan in romance, Morgan at the beach.... It would be terrible if the show went that way (for some of us it was S5 that was awful; for some S6).

UKV, there's only a handful of us here this late in the thread (not all of us here are Hotch fans - not even half of us actually)- we're hardly the majority! And most of us do like a good mix of all the characters. If you do see some Hotch bias on this thread, then it might be because this started as a tg thread 680 comments ago.

The writing worries me, though. It has been reactive, far too yielding and too afraid of showing any character in a way that may be construed as remotely negative. God forbid they do something wrong, something human. I understand where you're coming from - it would be an ugly thing if it became the hotch show but for me it would be equally ugly without him. I always thought what separated Minds from the other series was tha it was far less 'showy' - i see signs of that happening.

Anonymous said...

Luna, it's the whole thing for me. I don't want Hotch gone from the show -- didn't want his fans to meet that 'breaking point'. It's more that all the indications are the writing team has given up the ghost. Every decision they made last season, good or bad, was reversed by the close to meet exactly the requirements of the fans. In particular Seaver was hounded out with incredible ill will. I hated that. All moral sense, and feeling for the actor, goes against it. But the pattern of season 6 makes me nervous about how far the writers will go for an easy ride.

I hope you're right that there will be some balance in the storylines but as I say that hope feels self-definingly barmy.

Elevenses, I don't see Hotch bias latterly on the thread. It's the whole shebang. This is the cider I've pressed from last season. I'm sorry that I spat out my bad feeling in response to your post.

Hotch in a corset is bizarrely something I would like to see.

The writing worries me, though. It has been reactive, far too yielding and too afraid of showing any character in a way that may be construed as remotely negative. God forbid they do something wrong, something human.

This wins a cheer. There's something polarised about the characterisations. Almost as if the good guys have to be angelic to balance out the deep evil of the bad guys. But the characters are so much more interesting when there are shades of awkwardness, badness, mistakenness, confusion, PMT (or do you call it PMS?), hubris, arrogance and stupid human longing for what you can't ever have. And that's just Rossi!
:o)

For me it was No Hotch/No Watch and he isn't even my fav MGG is. Just for me they are family and you can't just replace one and expect it to be the same. It would be the same to me if any of the characters are replaced. There where always whispers of JJ/ Prentiss coming back so I hd on. If that had failed to come to fruition I would have stopped watching b/c to me the team would have become a unrecognizable shell of it's former self. That is just my opinion though. As far as the Seaver thing goes I have never liked RNs acting style but the reason I didn't like her on CM is b/c her character was so unbelievable. She didn't fit IMO and everytime she was onscreen it was like nails on a chalk board. Again just my opinion. I'm beyond ecstatic we have our team back now hopefully the writers won't go the same OOC unrealistic way of last year.

Eleven said...

I think it was the overemotional response of fans on the verge of losing him altogether ;0)

May i say something about Seaver? This urge to make people seem angelic was what did it. They didn't try to PG-13 everyone in the first 4.5 seasons (you and i disagree here UKV), no not even Reid (remember snappy Reid?). Even Rossi, ugghhh, seems like he is ready to pontificate these days - not smoke a cigar and drink whiskey and not look all 'cute' - uggh.

UKV, you probably missed my post above the one in which i addressed the usual suspects (Teresa, Gubegirl, Blimey, Velandra....). I responded to you first - i use the 'don't engage' policy with disagreeable people, not the disagreeing ones.

Hi, guys. Sorry I have been AWOL. Eleven, I can't keep up with your AKAs, and I esp don't like it when you're dead. Try to stay here with us live ones, OK, buddette?

Living in a house with 3 tails is wearisome. Stella, the new pooch, is adjusting well but is a wild child. What can you expect from a 1 y.o. terrier? Dukie, the chihuahua, is learning to put her in her place when he is tired but she still wants to play. Growling to defend his food bowl and rawhide chew has become the norm. And Bella, the cat, is damned tired of being locked up in a bedrrom upstairs and has taken to whining - alot. Have my workshop here tomorrow and working on the menu, setting up, and hiding a few things out of the way is about all I can manage:)

OTOH, did fit in the better part of "Soulmates" last nite while trying to "organize" my office. Aside from the slicked back hair that Reid was sporting in that epi, I like that one. Maybe it's the novelty of two otherwise-incongruent neighbors getting together so randomly to commit such horrible acts, good profiling on the part of all or the music of Tom Petty playing thruout, I like it and have seen it sev. times.

Thank God Reid stopped with the greaser look. I like a little hair in his face, softens that baby face whose cheeks I would so love to pinch...
a-a-h-h-h- I digress, as usual...

Velandra, dear, I'm 100% with you, GF; as much as I love our geekster, I could not watch if Hotch or a couple others were missing because it's the team in their entirety that I love...they balance each other oh-so nicely and it would be all off-kilter if they are not together.

But they are. And I have high hopes for this season and I do not care to harbor negative feelings about something that may or may not go well because we have been thru a year of hell and it just doesn't get any worse than that. We'll have the strength to walk away should we see these signs again and we will move on.

ITMW, I want to think positive. I am the optimist and so far it has worked.

But I would miss talking to each other! The pen-pal friendship has become the main reason I come here now, done here in our "hidey hole" as I believe Teresa so aptly put it, all with one common love: CM and all things CM.

sf: Thank you for your steady stream of spoilers, and I shall be watching here to see if you get news enuf in advance to let us know to watch "E" because I would not catch it otherwise.

CMFan11: Would appear that you're slightly AWOL yourself, buddy, I totally understand. ' Hi' anyway. Hope you are staying cool down in that hell-hole..oops...sorry, my daughter is visiting her hubbie's Texan family as we speak and she says it has been 100 degrees and very humid. Not like sunny, breezy so. Cali. We should all be so lucky, huh?
We pay mucho sun-tax to live here, don't you doubt it for a minute...

Blimey: I can't believe you are still taking EC to the worker bees. Geez, woman, how shall they subsist in your absence? They will be knocking you down at the door when you return to see if you have any of that 3.5 lb. cinny-num left!

UK viewer: Chin up. We're here for the fun AND the fanaticism. If that's what you're looking for, welcome!

OK, I must sign off and get my shower so I can leave home:) Cannot hang around and talk all day altho' it is a lovely thought. Haven't we learned to entertain each other well?

We're our own booster club, don't you think? I love it!

Also I'd like 2 think CBS knows better to not mess w/ us this time around. And not make a single mistake.

And u hope they realize 2 use the team as a whole more this season and make up for last season's mis-haps.

Also I'd be completely bummed if it got canceled after this season so let's not even think about that. I'd miss my CM pen-pals.

Evening all.

Can't beat a refreshing post-work snooze on a Friday afternoon/evening!

Yeah, I hit the wall.

@ UK Viewer:

Long time, no hear. Interesting that whenever you grace a thread, the sun disappears and it chucks it down - literally. You've jinxed the weather again! ;-))

I agree about season 7 - there's the hope it'll deliver what's currently being promised but the worry it'll be a load of (insert appropriate adjective) like much of season 6.

I think Hotch needs to be higher profile at times (e.g. the fallout from Prentiss emulating Eleven and coming back from the dead) but the writers need to go back to the good old days - where an episode could be character centric yet not push the others to the periphery.

@ Eleven & UK Viewer:

Good point about the team usually being shown as being almost angelic to counter the bad stuff. They're human - we all have a dark side to some extent (**rubs grubby little mits together**) - maybe we could occasionally see this? I don't mean Reid sacrificing goats and eating babies. I'm not sure what I mean, but not *that* level of dark. Urgh, help me out someone!

@ Eleven:

Enjoy your night on the sauce! A friend came over last weekend, we drank two bottles of wine (I hate wine - always have done!) and various other stuff between us and I could still feel my kidneys 36 hours later. I can honestly say, I prefer a nice cup of tea these days. Lightweight alert!

My WMD - that'll be my devastating beauty and wit. ;-)) Can't believe the countdown has progressed into single figures. AND... I've just been on the Target website and made a shopping list - need to have my "survival kit" ready before heading out into the desertified boonies! There's a beast of a store half a mile up the road from my first hotel - most convenient.

@ Gubegirl:

Don't know how you cope with twelve additional furry legs in the house - one cat is plenty enough for me. I'm almost wishing for winter (??!??) because at present it starts getting light here just after 4am and he seems to think that's the time to wake me up for a "cuddle". 12 lbs** of Garfield clone (he's actually a large cat, rather than fat) stood on your sternum when the hour still says four is horrific.

** Metric for cooking, imperial for bodies!

At work I'm getting hassled for goodies every day at the moment! On Friday I've got to make a white chocolate cheesecake (recipe below) for a retirement lunch.

I'll need the energy - then got to drive three hours south to my parents' place after work to deposit the cat (Dad's ecstatic - I don't think), then on Saturday get the train (urgh - Limey trains - full of mingers and weirdos) back north to Manchester where I'm staying overnight at my best bud's place. Either her or her fella will drop me off at Manny Airport on Sunday morning and then it's hasta la vista dirty little island for a few weeks! Am suitably chuffed (happy) Virgin now do twice weekly from Manchester to Las Vegas - saves a trip down to the Big Smoke which is a trauma in itself.

Recipe - you may need to google certain things and work out an American alternative, not to mention converting the grams.

Choccie digestives are my favourite biscuit (as in cookie - not lumpy thing smothered in gravy) btw.

Base:

250g crushed chocolate digestives
120g melted butter

Mix and press into base of an 10" tin, then chill until set.

Cheesecake:

180g melted white chocolate
300ml double cream
125g full fat cream cheese (a la Philly)

Mix it all together with one of those trusty hand-held blenders, then spoon onto base and chill for at least 3 hours.

Topping:

Press blueberries into the top in a pretty pattern of your choice.

Hope Jill's enjoyed her cake run - piccies would be good, if possible! ;-))

UK Viewer,
It's good to see your name here again. I agree with you, I don't want to see the writers writing to please the fans, even those of us who post here. I know what I like and who my favourite characters are, fessing up that Hotch/TG is at the top of the list.
Eleven, (in whatever form)
have I mentioned that before?
And I will continue to say what I like and didlike but that's just my feelings/opinions about the show/the characters. I really don't expect or really want it to influence the writers. When Jill says that the writers read this blog I'm not that interested. I'm here because I'm enjoying the back and forth between the people here who while having different opinions are having a blast talking about our favourite show. We can safely be nuts about CM and not have to watch people rolling their eyes. And we keep each other going through these summer doldrums w/no new CM.
I really want to see the whole team interacting and the writers being able to keep the balance between the unsub/crime/team interaction/creepiness/victims. Keep the writing true to the characters, show us that you know them.
As far as S7 is concerned, I'm in a wait and see mode and having fun here in the meantime.
And I would love to see more Rossi, they have a wonderful actor and a interesting character, hope they make better use of him.
Sorry for all the slashes, it's late and I'm tired/lazy/done in. LOL

Just finished watching the finale of "Friday Night Lights." Super show, five critically acclaimed seasons, several Emmy nominations (I think best actor or actress last year, maybe win(s)- can't 'member... nominated again this year for best drama, best actress and actor...and NBC cancelled it. So we got a 90 minute wrap-up. Excellent show but obviously not a money maker and on Fri. nite at 8 PM, (used to be 9 PM) just couldn't hack it. A real shame.

Which brings me to CMFan11's ? why isn't CM getting any Emmy nods? Excellent show and acting, and consistently high in the ratings even and NADA. A real rip-off; after watch FNL finish up tonite, makes me sad for CM as well. You wonder why other people aren't sitting up and taking notice of such quality TV...such great acting.

TG def should have had one; I don't know how it works with ensemble casts for sure, but thought PB could be considered as the Desperate Housewives have been - sometimes 2 or 3 in one year.

'Course, MGG was excellent in Revelations and gave an Emmy-deserving performance but maybe no one knew the show well back then but us crime procedural geeks.

I am rambling. I am tired. I am sad. I am going to bed.

Nite all.

christyzachman said...

Why don't some of the best shows get emmy noms because most of them do not deal with T&A but more with brains and strength of character (ethics). There are not very many screaming people and foul language and cheating on partners or spouses. There is no specialty type of adoptions and young children to supposedly entice people and make things funny (in some peoples opinion). Most of the shows nominated have characters of questionable ethics and poor language manners. They are often rude and many of those who vote for emmys I think are not interested in good quality and ethical behavior but silliness and stupidity and violent bursts against those they love. I guess that is why I don't really care if someone has an award or not.

CMFAN11 said...

Prolly bc they think it's "graphic", "violent" and "disturbing". Notice I put quotes bc I think they're over-reacting. And it prolly doesn't get a nod bc it doesn't have an agenda to push behind it's episodes.

Isn't it ironic that they'll vote for the almost porn like tv trashy shows, but not the good ones w/ good stories bc they're "too violent"? I think PB deserves a nod for "Lauren" and TG should've gotten one for the last foyet episode when hayley died.

Blimey Limey said...

Morning all!

@ CMFAN11:

Cheers for the piccies. Bacon icecream?? The mind boggles. Reminds me of the chocolate flavoured crisps (as in chips!) which failed spectacularly over here a while back.

That's about the fourth photo of JM I've seen where he looks like he's "been Tangoed" (from an advertising campaign for an orange flavoured UK soft drink - people turn orange). Can't see him using fake tan so perhaps it's dodgy studio lighting? If there's fluorescent light with no natural light I look yellow, so maybe?!

@ Teresa H:

I agree that the writers shouldn't pander to every whim of the viewers, but last season (as a whole) wasn't great, especially when compared to 1-4. That needs to be regained, at least they now seem aware of that; but how the writers et al choose to reclaim the glory days is entirely up to them. If they read this, great; if they don't, great. They'd probably think we're all barking mad anyway! ;-)) I agree with everything you said on the rest of that post, btw.

The cheesecake is to die for. I also do a nice baked choca-mocha version which has crushed Oreos as a base and a probably even more horrific calorie content! Must root out the recipe for that little beauty.

Over here the word "cookie" denotes a larger chunky biscuit containing nuts or choc chips or raisins/sultanas which has that nice cracked surface. I make butter choc chip shortbread cookies, to call them biscuits would be inaccurate because they're not small and plain. However, if they lasted long enough they would be stored in the biscuit tin - rather than the cookie jar!

@ Velandra:

The hideously pink uber-trolley case is on the spare bed, ready to be semi-packed this weekend. Got loads to do so have holed myself up for the weekend and won't be leaving the house in true social leper style!

@ Gubegirl:

Seems CM always misses out on TV awards. How TG didn't get one for his performance in 100 - I'm still gobsmacked. Uusually I can distance myself from what's happening on screen - the person is really acting, the body is made from plastic, the blood is watered down ketchup, etc. But, during *that* scene where Hotch was in the car talking to Haley... I actually thought it was real. That's how bloody brilliant his acting was - he actually convinced me it was happening. From literally the first second, you knew it was going to end badly, and how the episode was strucured captured it perfectly and really ramped up the tension until the inevitable happened. Chilling.

Agreed about MGG in Revelations - another amazing performance, especially since at the time he could have been considered to be a relative unknown (I mean compared to older established actors).

The kettle and teabags are calling to me with their seet siren song. Laters, y'all...

Ooooh - sf81387 is God's gift to scoop! Muchos respect to your Garcia-like abilities to hone in on these pictorial gems.

You can get bacon icecream over here at poncy restaurants. Give me Ben & Jerry's PHISH FOOD any time!

That's definitely Hotch sans face fuzz in the background on Garcia's photocall - I assume for the opening sequence??? Maybe the geologist label didn't sit too comfortably, so the fur had to go?

As for the dusty looking location where Hotch seems to have pitched his tent... it's actually quite scenic. I've been doing Streetview reconnaisance north of Pasadena and the scenery is stunning. Am looking forward much more to going there than doing the Hollywood stuff. I'm only planning on having half a day actually in LA - and the main reason behind that is to see JM's star and toast his good health with a crafty Patron! I have no intention of driving in the city centre so will be able to indulge in a wee tipple. Every time I see LA traffic on TV my palms start to sweat!

Eight days to go (six if you count leaving Limey Mansions) and I've had a lovely day so far packing everything I can which isn't clothing, lounging around and am now about to put coloured circular stickers on various maps so I don't get lost! Don't want to take wrong turns, end up in dodgy-looking neighbourhoods and resort to doing illegal U-turns less than an hour after getting through US immigration.

Not that I've ever done anything like that... ;-))

I rewatched "Haunted" yesterday and noticed JM was very orange in the face there too. And it wasn't a studio shot either, but outside. I recall that some of the actors did have an "orangey" touch in season 5, the women too, regardless of who did their make-up so I don't know. Maybe JM's natural color just goes best with orange make-up?

As for beardless Hotch: Count me in on those who's glad it's gone. It was interesting while it was on, it will sure make for a very interesting storyline in the premiere, but I'm glad I have MY Hotch back. And while TG looks still hot with a beard, I think he looks better without, and yes, I admit, I watch CM for the eye-candy too. *blush*

I agree with those who say that it's not necessarily for the best if producers strictly follow the wishes of the majority of fans. Problem is, if the majority is repeatedly unhappy with a show, they'll switch off eventually, the ratings will go down, the show will be cancelled. It's my impression that many of us only hung on to the show by a thread, ready to move on if things kept on going the direction the show took last season. I'm not against changes per se. I'm just against changes for the worse. Which I think season 6 was. They tried something new and failed, IMO. Seems like the majority of fans didn't like season 6 and I personally don't think it was "creatively refreshed" in any way. So I see nothing wrong when the producers take a step back to the original point first and see how to refresh the show from there.

@ LunaM:

Perhaps they used the wrong shade of foundation on him?! There's often an assumption if you've got olive/darker skin you need *much* darker foundation. My Dad's got the same colouring (must be the Italian genes) and never looks orange. Admittedly, he wouldn't be seen dead near make-up. ;-)) Am most envious of his year round "tan" though - I look like a freshly dug-up corpse in winter!

And there's nothing wrong with appreciating the aesthetic qualities of the male cast members!!! Apparently - not that I ever would. It's all about the drama. Hmmmm.

While I think the writers need to do their own thing with season 7, they need to learn from the copious mistakes made during season 6.

* Too many we-know-whodunnit-from-the-start episodes.

** Too few scratching-my-head-half-an-hour-through-because-I-still-haven't-got-a-bloody-clue-whodunnit episodes.

** Characters often OOC - new writers need to hole themselves up for a week with pizza takeaway menus, numerous tubes of Pringles & whatever their beverage of choice is and WATCH every previous episode in the correct order and make notes. Many employers send new recruits on training courses - consider this the training course from heaven! So, where do I apply?

** I think the PB/AJC/RN has been discussed to death. Nuff said.

** If it ain't broke, it don't need fixing. Nobody needs a degree in nuclear physics to understand that little concept!

@ Teresa H:

I googled the restaurant, it's actually not too far from where I'm staying and the food sounds pretty good! Wonder if they need a kitchen worker? I do a mean spicy sausage gnocchi concoction and my tiramisu is the best this side of Milan. I have a colleague whose parents are Italian and he says my tiramisu is just as good as the one made by his aunty in Naples. High praise indeed eh?

@ Velandra:

I bought the large uber-pink case so it will be easy to spot on the carousel - I've got a smaller paler version for going to Europe (yeah, I know... we like to maintain a safe distance!) which works a treat. All the teenage girls look enviously at it - all I need is a small dog to dress up and carry round in a handbag, peroxide my hair and I'll be well away.

Actually, the US spelling color makes more sense - no reason to put the U in the wrong place! Apparently we favour (favor?!) the French spelling influence - which I'm sure Syd will be pleased to ecoute!

(@ Syd: Ou est tu, ma cherie?!)

Those wide roads are perfect for "certain driving manoeuvers" - check both ways, no other cars and - most importantly - no cops aaaaaannnndd, swing that steering wheel to the left and gun that gas pedal! See, all I need to do is master that Texan accent and y'all's will never know! ;-))

Right, I'm off to adorn the last two maps with colored (damn, I'm good!) stickers. Laters...

I don't want the writers to write to please the fans but if reading our well thought out reviews, based on long standing fandom, gives them pause for thought then I'm all for it. And of course we are only concerned with dramatic/artistic issues, never anyhting as superficial as the hunkiness of our lovely guys -and for CMFAN11- girls.

Just back from yoga during which time, Bella the cat, had the run of the house for the first time in TEN days while Stella the Wild One, stayed outside, staring forlornly in the kitchen slider. Course she was startled to see Bella gazing at her no matter which door she decided to peek in! Good way for them to get a tad closer but still be safe while sizing each other up.

Listening to the Gin Blossoms whose concert we will see on 7/30. Never have but love their 80's sound.

Also seeing Train and Maroon 5 this Friday - whoo-hoo! Love them both.

Sure hope CM uses established and not all self-composed music in Season 7. I would think that this would be a plus for recognition plus reign in the younger set who always have an ear out for that newest indy music.

Call me Fantini, Mancini (???) and whomever, I will work for free...:)

Maybe they could have student shooting and we could use Foster the People's "Pumped Up Kicks" or something apropos but I still love the recent ditties from 30 Seconds to Mars, Amos Lee and Scars on 45s that could be considered.

Gotta run errands, Have a good day everyone!

Need a fix!

This time next week - assuming the plane takes off on time - I'll be halfway across Wyoming!!! Am definitely getting more and more excited by the second. Ha!

@ Teresa H:

Hope you enjoyed HP - I can honestly say I've never read any of the books or watched the films! Not sure why, because most people I know love HP. Weird (me, obviously).

A friend of mine got caught speeding in Florida many years ago (she wasn't used to such a smooth, quiet car - so thought she was doing the limit). As soon as the policeman heard she was English he let her off with a polite warning, but she watched the speedo after that.

Also, my friend's boyfriend ended up facing two guns when he got pulled over somewhere remote (in Washington State or Montana - I think) and did what the Limey plod like you to do... get straight out of the car! As soon as they realised he wasn't American everyone had a good laugh when they told him to keep his hands on the steering wheel if he ever got stopped again. I get this lecture regularly, bless him.

@ Gubegirl:

Hope the furry stand-off soon comes to an end and peace reigns once more!

Adam Levine (sans tattoos). Mmmmm. Wouldn't mind seeing him playing an unsub next season. Even if his acting's rubbish, us ladies can appreciate the eye candy! ;-))

TWO ECs are cooling on the side in my kitchen. A big 'un avec pecans for the gannets in my department and a little 'un sans pecans for my allergic to nuts Source and his pecan loving department.

I need to keep my Source VERY healthy because my broadband was finally upgraded - turns out it was delayed because they were doing network improvements - but while the line settles the speed is all over the place. It's fine for surfing, but downloading S04E01 of Breaking Bad tomorrow may not be feasible.

No Breaking Bad = I'll break bad!

Sorry, no scoop. It's the weekend. : )

TG did post this close up of his face for the fans that kept nagging at him to take a picture of his shaven face. It's really, really close. LOL

http://yfrog.com/kjkennj

Oh, and some fan read him the riot act over posting some little cartoon that said "Note to Self: Self does not want any more notes. F*ck Off

Apparently it wasn't very nice and she was shocked because she didn't think he used language like that and felt like he could've found a nicer way to tell his fans how he feels. LOL

WTF? It was a cartoon picture he posted. I don't think he meant it as a message to the fans and she didn't think he used language like that? What is she, a ten year old child with a crush. Fans and their entitlement issues never cease to amuse me.

Pet peeve of the day. I wish they'd stop associating that 51 year old actor that married the 16 year old with LOST. He had a teeny-tiny part in LOST and one that hardly earns him the the honor of being associated with the show. He's probably better known for his role in "The Green Mile" and I hate seeing the show that will always be the most fabulous show ever in my opinion attached to that wierdness.

I'm off to see Harry Potter!

I didn't realize I am 3 yrs behind in Breaking Bad! Obviously, I will not be able to catch up anytime soon, but think I may tune in to the premiere this wk. to see how I like it before I spring for S 2 & 3 or even watch 1 that I already bought.

Have S-1 of Justified (not watched it yet) and always liked the look of Timothy Olyphant-did you see he is up for an Emmy?
I like eye candy as much as you, Blimey, girl, and will miss Kyle Chandler on FNLites alot. Good that we're only 9-10 weeks away from S-7, CM, S-6, Dexter. BTW, Mireille Enos, the female detective on The Killing is up for best actress.

Do you believe this? I am happy, I love FNL and The Killing and the acting is tremendous, and they totally deserve their nominations but how ITH is that right when CM has never, in 6 long seasons, gotten a nod for anything other than maybe lighting or sound effects a yr or two back? Really p---es me off, because they are some of the best TV has to offer. Must be politics or some crap, because it's just not right and you have to wonder WTH the decision makers are watching. Gr-r-r-r.

I must be growling after hearing the dogs fight over rawhide chews for days...wouldn't have anything to do with things just not being 'Justified':)

Looks like TG needs to buy a new razor - unless Hotch subsequently decided he prefered the geologist look and is trying to regrow the fur??

Can't believe that comment about the spoof post-it note - some people really need to get out more. Does she (has to be a she) not realise it's a joke and even if he has a potty mouth (embrace it, sir - haha!) he's an adult. If he didn't give a stuff about his fans, would he be posting photos of his mush (face)? Bet it gave TG a right giggle - in a macho blokey way, of course.

Hope you enjoyed HP, btw.

@ Gubegirl:

I'd leave BB tonight as it's one of those shows you really need to watch from the beginning. The main character - Walter White - is now a VERY different man to when the show started and there's a lot of complex subplots, which are easy enough to follow if you've seen the previous episodes. I assume AMC repeat earlier episodes? It took me about 2-3 episodes to get into it, but once I did I was hooked. Also, season 1 only has seven episodes because of the writers' strike - 2 & 3 are 12 or 13 each. Can't wait for my ABQ BB geek tour next month - I'll get some cinnamon rolls from the Frontier to give me lots of energy!

Yeah, that'll be the only silver lining when I'm back in cold rainy England in September, the prospect of lots of good telly - to source for myself assuming my broadband is settled. BB binge and then CM & Dexter being top of my list.

Couldn't watch episode 3 of the Killing on Thursday, so will have to watch the repeat on Wednesday. I'd usually watch online on 4OD (Channel 4 On Demand, in full), but see above about my internet. If it's not sorted soon I'll join your pooches in the snarling competition.

@ Velandra:

Ha! Speedos are known as budgie smugglers here - you may need to Urban Dictionary that little gem we nicked from the Aussies!

My friend did mention the bikini top combined with a pair of Daisy Dukes attire may have also played a part!

*Note to self: buy bikini & DDs and hope the cop likes brunettes carrying slightly too much junk in their trunk.* (And I don't mean after a big spend at Target).

Right folks, I'm offski as it's nearly Monday. Enjoy the rest of your day - looking forward to an eight hour time difference next weekend, a valid excuse to stay up "late".

G'night y'all...

So I have an idea for an episode in the place of my Seaver episode bc I DON'T want her EVER coming back 2 CM bc I don't want the writers tempted 2 bring her back as a regular.

Anyways, I was thinking either JJ or Garcia could have someone stalking them throughout the season and leaving little tid-bits about it each episode and it comes to light at the end of the season for a good season finale.

Just a thought, I wanted 2 c what my fellow TZ's would think or have any other ideas 2 elaborate on it.

Levine: I keep hoping one day I will walk into the yoga studio and he'ss be in my class sitting there in an oh-so-flexible pose and I'll be able to slap my mat next to his...I'd put up with the tats for 75 mins any day...

Stella is way mellow today compared to prev wk. Don't know if it's the heat or that she got enuf of a look at Big Bella (our cat is HUGE - when she stretches out, she fills an entire stair on the staircase, which is why I tore 3 ligaments in my ankle almost 2 yrs ago when I tripped over her with my laptop open on my arm, talking to tech service on a cordless phone in my other hand...)

Whatever, It's nice not playing referree or racing upstairs to see what the elephant sounds are up there.

Teresa: Thnx for the KC Super 8 tip. Must see this ASAP. If it is avail on Netflix, will see it really soon! Oh, my, he is you guys' equiv to Hotch for me. Have loved him since "Early Edition" (the newspaper arrived the day before, accompanied by a very large orange cat) about 15 yrs ago...I'm dating myself...ck out his eyes; both he and TG have great lashes, esp bottom ones, almost look like they have eyeliner on...makes me so jealous..:)

Velandra: Yes, I have very eclectic taste in music. My nephew was the first to tell me that about 3 yrs ago, when he picked up my iPod and saw the John Mayer was listed along with the BeeGees, MatchBox Twenty and Coldplay. I don't see that as being weird but I know others do raise their eyebrows when I talk about new indy artists and my 19 y.o. has no clue who I am talking about. He finally caught on to Adele about a month ago but he was the one who suggested I have "Pumped up Kicks" for my ringtone even before I had even heard it...he said, "Mom, this is your kinda music..." Got the ringtone a couple days later and will be on the lookout for a dif one sometime before Sept when this one is "stale."

It really throws him for a loop when he sees me watching the CMAs or something to see Lady Antebellum or Keith Urban (now THERE is a hottie!! Oh, my!) Country is not what it used to be...really like lots of it.

CMFan11: Are you suggesting that RN become a stalker of Garcia or JJ, they show next to nothing of her thruout and then have it come out in the season finale? Not sure if she will make a good stalker but she may feel she has reason to be...no further comment.

How hot is it there? My daughter said 101 again where she is. Yuck-o.
Try to stay cool.

Wish my kids were still young enuf to need me to drive them: would have gone to the Potter movie. D. Radcliffe is a cutie patootie, hottie-in-the-making, also with great eyes...

Oh, would you pls go get some work done? She sighs and slowly spins the chair around to return to the kitchen peel potatoes...oh, and is that the dinger for the laundry going off??

I hope we get our original opening theme music back for season 7 and not what we got last season with the "bells and whistles".

CMFAN11 said...

Haha no actually I'm not but wouldn't that be an awkward twist?

Actually I was saying instead of having a episode w/ RN returning have a mini- story arc throughout the season of someone from either JJ's or Garcia's past stalking them throughout the season.

CMFAN11 said...

Or RN could stalk them and be an antagonist. But we wouldn't see her till the season finale. Then there could be a catfight btw JJ and Seaver and JJ could kick her ass lol

Sorry ladies, had 2 have my fantasy come out 2 keep up w/ y'all lol

Velandra said...

Awkward..... I think not. Maybe she feels J.J. " stole" her job and decides that she wants her job back along w/ J.J.s life. Seaver then goes all single white female on her. Oh the endless possibilities. The only prob. W/ that scenario is I don't want Seaver to come back..... EVER

Teresa H. said...

CMFAN11,
It's fun to see you having fun with your fantasy, but please no catfights.
Not sure I would want the theme of a stalker throughout the next season, would rather not see another drawn out story arc. However it might be good to see the team come to the aid of one of their own who might be in danger.
How about Rossi? We've already seen all the others except JJ in that situation, but she would be too easy really, there would be no conflict, how could you not want to rescue her. With Rossi it would be a bit more nuanced, I'm sure he's got a few skeletons. Remember that episode where he went back to his hometown and his buddy was obviously a mobster. Not that I would want another multi-episode story, but we have had good one episode stories about team members at risk: Garcia in Penelope; Morgan in Profiler Profiled; Reid in that episode with the anthrax and of course in
those two great early episodes (ok more than 1) of which I cannot remember the names. Hope that does not disqualify me as a TZ.
That might be one way of Rossi's past coming back at him and we would get to have more of a focus on him.
Sorry CMFAN, not the girl centered idea you were looking for.

CMFAN11 said...

Velandara you rock! I totally agree I wish that could happen but I highly doubt it will :(

Velandra said...

Teresa: those two Reid eps are still two of my favs to date. They're called The Big Game and Revelations. MGG was amazing in them. Did you notice he was wearing mismatched socks in the ep. I also loved James Van Der Beek (I remember him from Dawsons Creek) talk about range. I saw him as three diff. people. Quite the departure from sweet little Dawson. I also loved the music in revelations. Rolling Stones and Band of Horses, I thought it fit perfectly. Sorry this is one of my fav eps to talk about.... Can you tell. Lol

CMFAN11 said...

Teresa H:

I agree although it's nowhere near my fantasy it would make a very interesting storyline bc Rossi is so well put together and the father of the team and most experienced profiler. Mayb one or all of his ex-wifes could kidnap him? Lol

gubegirl said...

Velandra, Teresa: Do you guys remember ever seeing an interview with the Gube about taping Revelations? He was recanting how they were on location in some remote area of LA and that it was really cold and he needed to be barefoot in several scenes with Van der Beek as Tobias, his dad and Raphael.

On top of that, I think there was a scene in the same epi (where Tobias transported him to the cemetery(?) and MGG had to lie on the floorboard of the truck/car and was all balled up and really miserable. But as usual, our good natured geek was laughing while recalling it.

Have little doubt that Rossi has a skeleton or two in his closet, along with the four (?) wives. Can't wait to "meet" an ex-wife - there MUST be some case/opportunity we need to see. And how come he is married that many times and still has no kids but appears quite fatherly? Going to have an estranged one like Gideon did?

Oh, I wish those writers would call...aren't we just filled with good ideas? LOL.

Have a good nite y'all.

Like your fantasy, CMFan11, dream on buddy:)

For those of you in LA/ Cali.

According to some website I just read they are filming around valley street in Santa maria if I got that right?

Obviously I wouldn't kno my way around Cali but I thought if y'all could find out where that is if anyone is there someone could take some pics of the team filming on set lol

gubegirl said...

As I recall, Santa Maria is north of Los Alamos, prob'ly a couple hours north of LA but close to the 101.

Not anywhere close or I'd be there, CMFan11. Now start talking north
San Diego county, and I'll grab the camera and video and be on the fly, like fast!

Too bad only half dozen of us are using this thread or maybe somehoe would be closer...on second thought, no let's not press our luck, we are enjoying this "hidey hole" and like having it all to ourselves.

I'm sure someone will tweet something and sf will "sniff" if out and direct us accordingly and/or Jill will post anything she gets - hopefully, she'll get some good ones of the b'day celebration!

I'd like 2 c if JJ has any skeletons in her closet. That could be a very interesting episode. Also I'd like 2 see more about Rossi's past bc he HAS 2 have skeletons in his closet. Lol

Hello! When did I last post on this blog? Possibly only a coupla days ago but it sure feels like longer! You've all been up to lots of good things it seems - taking care of tails, watching HP, recommending HP, posting fun links, sniffing out scoops, etc.... Me, I think if I were a man I would be sporting the scruffy tg look without tg's looks (does that make sense?). Have sworn off alcohol for life. So obviously I have nothing positive, negative or otherwise to contribute. Dunno if it was the hangover, but tg's super close-up was a bit scary - the twitpic of our girls was darling - and the reaction to the 'note to self' cartoon was silly (and if it was one person - really we should just yawn, shrug and forget about it - and if you're me, yawn, shrug and pass out under the office desk). I think I have much to say about violence, the CM intro theme music, awards, even the make-up...but passing out under the desk sounds like a better alternative at the mo. Catch up with you soon….

PS: Rossi was working on wife no. 4 apparently - so married three times. Has potential for some funnies (although could actually turn out to be sad). Gubegirl, he did say something to hotch about not having kids - when they went to interview an abused wife accused of killing her husband (can't rem the name of the episode). Somebody with the exact convo? it was lovely.

I like the idea of Rossi being in danger. I was thinking of that guy from the reckoner, I can't remember his name, Sean I think. He killed the killer at the end but he might blame Rossi for the guy killing his boss and the man he looked on as a father. I must admit, I'd rather never see you know who again.

Have a great week.

Just watched Omnivore on ION. One of the murders supposedly takes place in my town, Needham MA. Funny, it looks nothing like it. And while it's a great episode the few Boston accents that they try are just awful.
I love the scene with Hotch and Rossi where Hotch is feeing guilty about not having caught the Reaper the first time. I remember from a special feature on that DVD one of the writer/producers saying that Hotch's tears were not scripted. TG was so good in that scene,so was Joe.
Is it the case that Hotch was the only man, besides himself, that Foyet stabbed?

Velandra said...

Theresa: yes other than himself Hotch is the only other man he stabbed, he always shot thr men. I live about 20 min from needham and your right it looks nothing like it. In my opinion it really doesn't look like Ma. at all. The Boston accents were horrible but I've noticed in most movies or tv shows unless the actor is from Boston the accent is pretty bad.

Teresa H. said...

Velandra,
Yes, I wish they would just not try to do the accents.

LunaM said...

I am confused. TG is supposed to be on his way to Switzerland with his daughter to attend a charity golf tournament.

Does that mean another Hotchless episode? And already in episode 2 of season 7? I'm kind of frustrated right now.

The TX accents are actually pretty accurate lol. I hope the whole team is in ep 7.02

sf81387 said...

Is it the case that Hotch was the only man, besides himself, that Foyet stabbed?

No, he just spent more time with his knife with the younger women, but he wasn't picky about how he killed any of them. He stabbed the old man in the car in the heart and shot his wife in the head.

My post-hangover thoughts on violence; so beware!

The change I've noticed over the past two seasons is that the dead body/ies has/have become more like tropes to get to an end, an almost immaterial piece of the puzzle. Now, what I liked about Minds in the beginning was the empathy they tried to create between viewer and victim. It tended to be more about loss, the absence of life, the cutting short of possibilities - thus there was an underlying thread of sadness and they used the marvellous actors they have to highlight this sense of loss, to bestow something more than mere acknowledgement on the fact of violent death, something stolen, as it were, from life. They didn't have to dwell on these things - it seemed effortless. Now the visual stylisation takes away from this depth, makes death less significant and the viewer less sympathetic. So much background music (as I have said before, I do not mean the songs they use - just the incidental music that tries to tell us how we should feel), visual stylisation, makeup even (too much this past season - really we're ok with our heroes and heroines showing signs of age - that only adds to their looks imo - plus the heavy makeup makes them look too well put together when perhaps they shouldn't all the time) - I find that these things have detracted from what made CM different from the other American procedurals. It was, and should remain, serious and retain the gravitas that has separated it from the plethora of cop shows out there without becoming preachy and exhaustingly dark. Slowing down or toning down does not have to mean 'boring' - as we all know so well, even clowns can be boring and they are hardly toned down. Easier said than done, of course, but requires some thought…

And I think now that I have my favourite cast back together (while I wish it could have been different for RN), I don't even want to ask myself what I want out of S7 or indeed what I don't want. I am ready and willing to sit back and see how it all unfolds, and if it is anything like the first 4.5 seasons I shall be inexplicably happy :-) So BRING IT ON!

Teresa - Omnivore is just as good now as it was when it first aired - one of those special ones for me. I wouldn't know about accents, though.

LunaM - I wouldn't mind a Hotch-less episode as long as the writing's good! We hated his absence because, first, he hardly had much to do for most of the season and, second, the episode itself wasn't too well wrought. If the writing improves (and I hope and pray that it does), I don't think a Hotch-less episode would be quite as disastrous as it seemed to so many in '25 to life'. And happy trip to tg and aggie!

This is so beautifully said. And so true. The rest of your post too. TPTB should read this. You put into words what many of us have felt was right with seasons 1 - 4.5 and wrong with everything after but couldn't really put it into words. At least I couldn't.

"LunaM - I wouldn't mind a Hotch-less episode as long as the writing's good! Sure, for me there was more wrong with "25 to Life" than just the absence of Hotch. The writing is key. Still, I'm not keen on a Hotchless episode, or a Morganless episode or any other character. Can you imagine the uproar if we had a Reidless episode? Finally, we have our team back and it's only the second episode and already one is missing? And where will this stop? We've already had a Hotchless episode last season, maybe we will a couple of episodes without Hotch this season? Who's to tell if this is the only Hotchless episode? Maybe we will have other characters missing in episodes. And Hotch is missing out at a very very crucial time too. JJ returns and has to be reintegrated into the team. Emily is alive and Hotch and JJ will have to deal with some fallout from the other team members.

Erica Messer promised us more Hotch this season than last season. It certainly doesn't look like it at the moment.

Anonymous said...

So annoyed that Thomas is going to a charity golf game. I thought the fans made it clear we wanted more Hotch in season seven. I really thought we were heard with our grievances. Plus he is making more money now so someone in charge should have enough sense to see how important he is to the show to actually use him unlike last year. Just so annoyed.

LunaM said...

I just read that Jill tweeted Hotch will be in 7x02.

Luna, Luna *slaps self* just try to not always be so rash.

I don't know how long this tournament will take, I guess it's only three days or so? So likely there's still enough time for TG to shoot scene for 7x02. So, all is well.

CMFAN11 said...

I'm sure if Hotch is gone in 7.02 that somehow it will integrate into the storylines well. I don't think they'd be dumb enough to screw with us again.

Also I'm guessing alot of this drama might be taken care of in the first episode. Maybe hotch is under investigation or taking Strauss's job 2 some extent.

Hoping for more scoop - it's about time they threw us another bone to chew on!

A golf tournament in Schweiz? Is it a course with a very steep gradient?! Hope TG's remortgaged his house - the exchange rate is dire, everything is despressingly expensive and anything more than a week means you have to think about selling organs to fund the rest of the trip! Last year was my last visit for a fair while unless things improve. Hope he enjoys the Rivella, rösti & schoggi - the spawny devil...

@ Velandra & Teresa H:

It really annoys me when they (i.e. TV shows in general) get accents wrong. I pick up on it on UK TV, but am not au fait enough with American accents to notice. Over here, we have a TV presenter called Loyd Grossman who's from Boston and when he first started appearing regularly on TV in the 90s we were all really confused by his accent, as to our generally uneducated Limey ears it doesn't sound like "typical" American. I recognise NY, a general southern drawl and I'm sorry to say the rest sounds pretty similar to me!

**Cowers and waves white flag**

@ Eleven:

Glad your head's better! ;-))

@ Gubegirl:

BB season premiere was fantastic - started off tame, a shocker near the end (it was really grim, and that's coming from me!) and a nice little twist right at the end. Am now dying as I won't be able to catch up until September, unless my hotels have AMC on Sunday nights!

Right, more comments later - I'm working upwards from the bottom until I reach my last comment previous to this. Laters y'all...

Velandra said...

Anon: I think your being a bit unfair to TG. He does have a right to spend some time w/ his family. Yes he did get a pay raise but that was long overdue IMO. Granted in 25 to life his missing presence was incredibly evident but I think that was due to underpar writing and bad storylines. There have been eps in the past such as "A Higher Power" in which he was only in part of the ep but it was still good. I think it really goes to show the diff in writing between now and then. Also last season even when Hotch was there he wasn't. Hopefully if there are any Hotchless eps this season (cross fingers there wont) they will be done in the way of past seasons.

Eleven,
Your post was very eloquent. I don't think I know the show well enough or am enough of a writer to know for sure that what you say is true. ( I will for sure be paying close attention from now on) But the sense I have is that you're correct. There was empathy/identification with and feeling for the victims in the earlier episodes. Also with the unsubs as uncomfortable as it was. I just am not sure I can articulate how exactly this was done. Thank you for putting your thoughts on that out there.
If the episode is well written then I have no problem with Hotch not being on screen. I believe the issue is more what they do with him, or any of the others for that matter, when they have him.
An episode can feel Hotchless, 13th Step for example, if they don't write the character well.
Blimey,
Unless you're staying in real dives my guess is that AMC will be available. Hope so.

Cking in por un momento; another crazy-busy week!

I'm sure that TPTB will not allow TG's golfing absence impact the show; he may have to put in extra hours or whatever but I don't think that's unheard of in their business. Glad he shaved because he is WAY more Hot-ch-like :) smooth-faced. Gotta love a smooth face. M.m.m.m.m.m.

Blimey: Sure you are crazy by now in prep for the big 'cation. Don't forget your laptop and your chargers, GF, and I will say a prayer that wherever you stay has AMC.

Speaking of which, did not watch BB but did return the $19.99 copy of S-1 to Target because I was able to get the duo pack of S-1 & 2 for $29.99 and also S-3 for $29.99, also at Target so now I am all set. Gotta love a deal, huh, and Target is full of 'em esp if you get the extra 5% off for having a Target card!

Watched part of Demonology and most of Omnivore last nite...both great epis. Love Prentiss and Rossi and her opening up to him and her sensitivity to her friend's untimely death. Also her own vulnerability.

That whole Foyet business was really complicated and I had forgotten some because "100" kinda overshadowed everything for me with TG's acting and losing Haley. That b----rd was one really sick man...all that cutting of himself to further his evil desires and biting himself until he bled in jail; what a freak. Must be really hard to have to be close and personal with these monsters and makes me wish all the more that we get to see a little love this season. All the players SO need it and as best I can tell, JJ and Garcia are the only ones getting it. Other than Reid's mom who doesn't really count because of her being so schizoid, none of them have much of any support system at all let alone a romantic relationship. Well, like I said, would love to see/hear about someone on the team getting some love.
No soap, just a little hint or an occas happy face & a sentence or two first thing in the AM at the round table would do it. That's what I would want for any member of MY family so I guess it follows that I want it for the CM family as well.

Gotta get some work done. Later...

Velandra said...

Anon: I apologize if I came off a little harsh that was not my intention. We have been promised more Hotch and more Hotch I'm sure we will have.

Eleven: as has been stated by others before me whT you wrote was quite eloquent and IMO oh so very true.

Blimey: pretty much all decent motels/hotels have AMC so you are on luck.

Gubegirl: how goes it w/ the furry ones? I have only seen one ep of BB a year or two ago but I was so intrigued It still pops into my mind to this day.

Well Ashes & Dust just came on. One of my fav Hotch eps. So I shall bid you all farewell for now

Wow, the TG drama on twitter was a bit over the top. Fans bombarded the cast and the crew with tweets wanting to know if TG would be in 7.02.

Thomas Gibson usually plays in at least one charity golf tournament every season and he doesn't get removed from episodes to do it.

The actors don't work every day of the eight day shoot and perhaps this episode is just going to be Hotch-light or they're going to cram all of his scenes into a couple of days worth of work or a combination of the two. Regardless, does it matter? Is ranting and raving and freaking out and begging for information from the cast and crew going to change what happens in the episode they're working on today?

Anyway, just thought the drama was a bit out there and am feeling a bit ashamed to be associated with the CM fandom at the moment.

However, there is a very cute picture of Shemar with the young guest star of 7.02 that made the search through all the tweets worthwhile. Look how cute! : )

http://a.yfrog.com/img740/7042/ai1hs.jpg

Eleven said...

Thanks SF for the lovely piccie of Shemar and the little guy. Really cute! And Shemar in whatever court scene he was shooting is looking fab in that grey suit and dark tie! But he'd probs have to wear bunny ears and bunny slippers and paint his face orange to look anything less than gorgeous. Damn him!

Re the other issue i think it's time we stopped being so afraid and therefore reactionary to what was going to happen on screen. I don't mean less passionate; just a little less intrusive because these guys work very hard and deserve a little break. Plus, i suppose the debacle of the past season has made us almost rabid. Because TPTB made such a monumental mess of things, we now immediately associate these little things with dark conspiracies and malintent. As long as we know that our beloved cast is being treated well, i think we can live with a Hotch(or any charac)-light/less episode or two. It doesn't mean that they're being let go. It's the perpetual sword of damocles that has been our undoing. Think it's time we sat back and put some much-needed distance between what we want and what we're likely to get - without losing any of the excitement and joy we derive from all the parts that make Minds what it is.

Thank you everyone for reading my comment on violence. I feel passionately about the subject and fear that we are becoming increasingly desensitised to death and the pain we are capable of inflicting on another human being. It should still make us angry and sad, jolt us out of our haapy or numb comfort; it is too big to be glossed over and prettied up. To quote Roth - "the end is so immense, it is its own poetry. It requires little rhetoric. Just state it plainly."

Again, writing, writing, writing. That's going to be MY mantra this season :-)

Teresa, don't worry, i understood what you meant. Moreover, i am not even saying i'm right! It's just what i have felt about this past season (and a half). I also feel that good writing can transcend the medium it primarily uses - in this case the visual medium, and if the dialogue/narrative is weak, one is liable to fill the void/weakness with superficial mimesis (just a lot of people doing things for the sake of doing them - so that there is, merely, something to see, some action because the dialogue, narrative and the pure poetry of the most genuine actions/images are not strong enough).

Sorry if i have gone off on a tangent, yet again!

I agree we need to step back a little and give them room to tell a story. We are over sensitized -- we got used to watching the perfect show with the perfect cast, and it was as if a boulder suddenly crashed through the middle of the series, leaving us wondering, WTH was that? Despite all that happened, there are signs that some sanity has been restored to the proceedings, and I'm hopeful.

As for the issue of violence, the dark nature of the show has always been its potential undoing. It would be so easy for the material to become exploitative and repellent by its sheer intensity. The reason the show has thrived is because the perspective has so solidly been on the side of the victims and the white knights who save them. If we ever were asked to feel for any of the unsubs, it's been because they've been victims themselves -- mentally ill, abused, in some way unable to help themselves. Last season violated that feeling by wallowing in the depravity of people like the faux Bonnie and Clyde or Travanti's Alzheimer's sufferer. CM at its heart is actually a fairly idealistic show, with a bit of an epic sense to it, not a cheap thriller.

RMF said...

Oh my.

I've always said men shouldn't wear pink shirts, but....

Eleven said...

RMF, yes, yes and yes. A sense of the epic, so true! That's why i guess it hurt so much to see all of them flounder and fail trying to achieve that perfect balance. If a sense of morality or righteousness is old-fashioned or boring, then i love being old-fashioned and boring.

Ahhhhhh PINK....that man is distracting me from my contemplation of the universe and of the utter mess my house is at the mo.

LunaM said...

Again, Eleven put it best. Yes, I think that many of us are a bit gun-shy from the mess that was season 6. Therefore, every time we hear something that seems to contradict what we want for season 7... we get upset, or, in my case, a bit rash. *hangs head in shame*

I felt really sorry for the guys on twitter. I read some of Anna Fleiner's tweets and the poor woman seemed to have been bombarded with questions about TG. I didn't add to that though.

I don't know, maybe that's something CM's new offical twitter account CM_SetReport could be for. Tweeting something like "TG isn't on the set this week because he attends a charity golf tournament, but he'll be part of 7x02" - or something along those lines. I mean, next time they'll have an episode in which one of the team members is missing, I'd like to know in advance. Part of the offense "25 to Life" was - apart from the dismal writing - was that we were led to believe we would see Hotch and Jack (Cade Owen was announced to be in that episode and wasn't he even listed in the opening credits?). Many of us looked forward to that and then we got NOTHING. I felt cheated. To this day, I still think there have been scenes shot with Hotch and Jack, but for what reason ever, they have been cut from the final product. All of this left a very bad taste in my mouth and maybe that's because I overreacted a bit yesterday. :)

One thing to add, because it's long overdue I say this: I applaud TG for being this generous person and attend charity events even in the middle of his time- and energy-consuming job. I hope he and his daughter have a wonderful time and a safe trip home.

Syd, good to know :-) tg in pink has been known to alleviate certain maladies (including toothache a little bird told me) while triggering others (such as dehydration, insanity and PTSD).

CMFAN11 said...

Ok so I completely agree w/ yalls posts about the violence and having 2 resort 2 showing more of it means a lack of writing. Also I think it's crazy for people 2 freak out 2 the extent they did on twitter if TG isn't there (I really can't say anything bout TG in a pink shirt tho, that's y'alls territory I'll worry bout JJ lol)

Is TG wearing pink in the episode? Does that mean he's getting happier? Well hotch at least lol.

Did y'all see Covert Affairs on USA last night? It was a freakin sad episode. I had a tear coming down my eye and I'm a straight Texan guy ( I say that bc absolutely no guys cry down here lol) it helps make my point not out 2 offend anyone.

Eleven said...

CMF11 - why is it so hard for ya straight guys to appreciate male beauty? Can't get my hubs to comment on any of my crushes (although i have v few). Women find it much easier to talk about women, don't you think? Yep, i love my Paget and Kirsten and AJ and can appreciate it when they make you chaps go craaaaaazy :-) (no, i don't think hotch will be wearing pink - the pic is of tg in switzerland)

I don't mean to offend you - i'm just curious. Hubs hasn't been able to come up with an answer yet, nor does he want to be caught dead in pink (well, his wardrobe is pretty much grey, black and navy). Hmmmmmmmmm

sf81387 said...

Women find it much easier to talk about women, don't you think?

Oh boy do they and most often not in a nice way. Women can be so catty. I think it would be weird to see a group of men sitting around discussing how tacky some guy's tie is or how fat those jeans make him look. LOL

Please guys don't ever change. I love that they don't act like women. : )

I agree Hotch wouldn't wear pink. The wardrobe people say TG is very picky about what Hotch wears and I guess they really had to push hard to get him to agree to let Hotch wear some combination that included shades of purple one day. LOL

Eleven said...

I was talking about great women like us, SF ;0)

CMFAN11 said...

Honestly for me in my life it just makes me uncomfortable 2 talk about another guy like that. Although I do think there is a double standard, if that's what your getting at I agree. It's a guy thing kinda hard 2 explain lol

LunaM said...

But the pic of TG in a pink shirt was a private pic. He was TG, not Hotch, or do I get something wrong? I thought it was a pic from his trip to Switzerland.

Would Hotch wear a pink shirt or tie? Likely not, and if he did, he would get dirty looks from Rossi and Morgan and knowing looks would be exchanged between our ladies. LOL

Too much to do… too little time… Am having half an hour of t’internet before I crack on with the mile long list I’ve made!

@ Eleven:

You summed it up perfectly – who said hangovers were a bad thing?!

The violence issue… Less is more. However, there was a scene in the latest Breaking Bad episode (anyone who saw it will know *exactly* what I’m talking about) which was horrifically violent. Even “it’s only ketchup and water” person here nearly fell off her seat. It was spot-on for the episode, and usually the extreme violence is fairly sporadic so when it does happen it’s highly effective.

@ Sky:

Agreed 100% about the opening music – they made it sound really harsh last season. Why? Probably for the same reason the AJC/PB fiasco occurred – i.e. pointless…

@ Teresa H:

Definitely agree we need to see more Rossi next season. One of my colleagues is a fellow CM junkie and this morning we were discussing how we need to know more about his backstory. There’s been the odd snippet, but not enough over the best part of four seasons. I like the idea of his past coming back to bite him on the arse – not in a angsty way, but making for a good episode or two while uncovering a few skeletons he may have lurking in his closet.

Re: Hotels. Not in true road trip spirit, but I’ve made reservations at “reasonable chains” & a couple of well-reviewed B&Bs. I’m too snobby to stay in a flea-pit, I don’t do tents & if I was staying in rough places I’d have incessant earache from my mother! ;-))

@ Velandra:

My colleague said she’d watched Revelations on TV last night. She was also asking about when they’re going to wrap up the Reid’s headache storyline. We reckon it’s a manifestation of stress, she was saying she thinks Reid’s more empathetic these days (not that he wasn’t before – she meant as his social skills have improved) so therefore becomes more emotionally invested in the cases – where before it was as if a case was more like a puzzle he could use that big ol’ brain to solve. After Revelations he knew exactly what it was like to be on the other side.

Will check for AMC, ION and A&E at each hotel ;-))

@ CMFAN11 & Gubegirl:

Maybe there could be a case where Rossi’s got himself into a spot of bother and they need some info about his past to help with the profile… and who better than a former Mrs Rossi, or three?

@ sf81387:

Cute photo! Yeah, some people take stuff way too seriously. I’m going to sound a bit of an arse here, but we’re all intelligent, rational adult individuals on this (not so) little thread. Not everyone's like us!

@ Syd:

Ahhh, ma Cherie! Tu as mal a la dent?! Je deteste beaucoup! Erm… I’m out of Francais – hope it’s better now. ;-))

@ Gubegirl:

On the subject of eclectic music tastes, I’ve been burning compilation CDs to take with me. Can’t be without some quality tunes in the middle of nowhere! Might try the radio in towns though.

How’s the furry zoo? Has a truce been called yet?!

Four days to go! I’m taking a netbook so I can access email/facebook/google maps/this blog/anything else I need.

Target is fab – but all too easy to get lost in! After I’ve dumped the junk from my trunk at the hotel, I’ll be heading half a mile up the road to the massive Target there to get new junk for my trunk. Lots of water, chips (of the crisps variety!) and plain cookies to make up the rest of my desert survival kit.

@ Pat:

My cat sulks when I go out for too long so I dread to think what he’ll be like after I’ve abandoned him for the best part of six weeks. :-((

Right y'all, chores to do. Laters...

Blimey Limey said...

Last post was too long, so had to cut & paste:

I assume if TG is going to be in episode 2, his filming will be condensed into however many days necessary so he can go and contend with the erratic weather & mosquitos en Suisse. I don’t know if the route’s still current, but last year I had to do some research for something & I know Swissair (**rolls eyes**) fly (flew?) direct from LA to Zurich, so he wouldn’t have to waste time on transfers if he was on that flight. I reckon he’s still looking too skinny, a few days of delicious Swiss cuisine should add a few lbs. Works for me! :-((

Interesting shirt - pink has been really popular over here for 3 or so years, but I'm still not convinced. Pink pyjamas/socks/tighty...pinkies (?!?) are another story though! ;-))

Blimey Limey said...

@ Luna M:

A pink shirt in Switerland would stand out - it's neutrality all the way there. I love the place - as well as Germany and Austria. All very civilised.

Good on TG to add a splash of colour, although I agree Hotch wouldn't be a pink shirt kinda guy. White and blue - safe colours!

In less touristy places (e.g. Zurich) everyone dresses in very neutral colours, everyone blends in and wearing a bright red top is not a good way of blending in - as I found out after being stared at as if I was a circus freak for a whole afternoon in the aforementioned city. And it rains - a lot. Must be bad if a Limey whinges.

In tourist hot spots (e.g. Luzern) anything goes, so wear brown if you don't want people to assume you're a tourist!

However, and I digress, I do have photographic evidence of a Swiss train running five minutes late. I was taking photos of the information display as evidence while the locals looked at me (again) like a circus freak, but being Swiss they were far too polite to pass comment! And I wasn't wearing red that time.

Ha! Anything to get out of vacuuming...

sf81387 said...

But the pic of TG in a pink shirt was a private pic. He was TG, not Hotch, or do I get something wrong? I thought it was a pic from his trip to Switzerland.

Yes, it's a personal picture and a nice one at that. He looks good in pink. : ) We just figured Hotch would never wear pink. He's such a standard black and blue alpha male that he'd never consider wearing something pink.

@ Blimey:

I like your idea waaaaayyy better than my previous one. I think it'd be cool if us fans could all post our ideas for the characters/ storylines etc. Then someone who knows somebody important involved w/ CM could take them 2 the writers and they could pick one idea 2 use for storylines and use tid-bits for each character that some of us fans would like 2 c

But only in 1 or 2 episodes

sf81387 said...

CMFAN11,

While I would agree it's always fun to put forth ideas for the characters, I'd never want to see the writers use any of them. I've read enough fan fiction to know that there's a reason why that sort of thing should ALWAYS be left up to the professionals.

JM did tweet the other day that we might get to meet one of his ex-wives this season though so maybe something from his past really is going to come back to bite him in the ass, but it'll probably be something along the lines of them having a mutual friend that's a victim or something like that.

CMFAN11 said...

@ Sf,

Lol gahhh your always right ugh lol I'm just kidding.

I completely agree as usual.

FYI: Thanks for serving as our token investigator for the show and having foresight for my ideas so I can better adapt sometimes. lol I'm glad your such a TV expert :)

Please submit an application to be a fan advisor for the show it would be much appreciated by us TZ's.

So you think that could get outta hand? I'm honestly curious bc all of the TZ's on here are the ONLY intelligent non-crazy fans that I can actually talk 2 without feeling crazy for being obsessed w/ a show bc all of y'all are so rational.

Good afternoon buddettes and buddy-token male:)

Been taking off a couple hrs ea day and putting Stella the dog out while Bella the cat gets the run of the house. Bella is always back in her bedroom when, or shortly after, I return so am unsure what goes on thru the glass sliders (3!) so they are def getting to see ea other lots -but from a safe distance. Stella is having accidents that I don't appreciate since I just had carpets cleaned but hope the trainer can help with that Sat. when we have our first lesson. Beginning to think she was abused because she has def abandonment issues and is insecure. Licks our necks like crazy as we sit to put our shoes on and goes nuts when it's time to walk - biting her own leash and hauling Dukie the chihuahua out the door as if she were walking him! All in good time, I s'pose.

Blimey: Glad you are getting things in order and as detail-oriented as you seem, sure you will do great. Can't believe you would strike out on your own for such a trip - I would wimp out, but heck I have always had either hubbie or S.O. to travel with. Took a couple trips with my sis but most have been family vacations. I envy you for getting to call all your own shots and do your own thing!

Try to hit a Trader Joe's. Great little import grocery chain that has the coolest food. Lots of almost-homemade cookies, crackers, snicker-snacks (as my dear mom would call snacks)The employees will give you the best customer service ever and will recommend great but cheap wines and alcohol (another specialty!) and they're just a great fun place to food shop, if you're a foodie like me. We had their 'wine crackers' last nite while scrapping and again with coffee this AM - excellent! Just a tad sweet and watch that you don't take more than your 11 crackers/130 cal. or you're in trouble!

Love the Weight Watcher giant latte ice cream bars (90 cals) unsure if you will be able to store them in a freezer but Target (& some grocer's) has them and they are a real refresher when you're in the heat but want a coffee fix - yum! If/when your cousin(s?) is/are along, you can polish off the box in a day or two:)

Hope to catch a CM rerun after yoga tonite; dvr guide more accurate this week than in the last few weeks but still don't totally trust it and get my hopes dashed when it's wrong! Hah! The small things in life, huh, they're so important to us geek-freaks. Right now, everything for this eve says "TBA..." A--a-g-g-h-h!
Going to do yet another reset NOW!

I happen to love pink shirts. But it takes a guy with not only alot of confidence but also the right coloring (colouring!) to get away with one. My hubbie has had several..back when his hair was more red from being out in the sun playing tennis, it was not a pretty sight. Dark hair looks much better, I think. Bet TG looks good but my computer won't go there - may have expired. Damn....

Later, y'all.

Forgot something important (to me!) If it's music or CM, it must be important!

Dancing to a 'Westlife' song, "Don't Get Me Wrong" in Jazzercise. Opening vocals sound scarily like John Mayer.

Found out they are an Irish boy-band and wondering if any of you are familiar? Liking this song so much am considering getting a CD of theirs. Liked what I heard when I you-tubed a couple others but that's from 2008 and there are sev earlier albums that did better.

Am also loving 'Hey. Mama' by Mat Kearny: really great up-beat ditty that's great to dance to. Tough to sit still while listening to this one.

Any feedback, esp re: Westlife, would be appreciated. Thanks!

Lol gahhh your always right ugh

I am not! You take that back! ; )

I don't think there's a right or wrong it was just my opinion as always. I think it's fun and it's easy for us to come up with ideas for the characters, but I'm guessing if we had to actually come up with a creepy case of the week to go along with that character's story and find things for the other six characters to do and keep it all contained within 41 minutes of air-time we'd find that maybe it's not so easy to get those character back stories in without overshadowing the case of the week and neglecting the other six characters. : )

CMFAN11 said...

Lol I agree. I just hope it isn't TOO character centered, and goes back to basics and focus on the brilliance of our agents and not 2 much character drama like last season.

I wonder who's comment got deleted? Newbie maybe?

Someone is taking a virtual walk of shame right now.....lol

PS: thank you Jill, Moderators, other blog owners for allowing us 2 discuss CM-S7 here.

Your warning is duely noted, although I doubt we'll have anything 2 worry about bc we're all very civil.

Hello ladies and gent-not-in-pink! I like your ideas for Rossi - I'd actually love the encounter to be humourous with lots of eye rolls and snarky comments. There's a reason for the three marriages to have failed, eh? I agree i wouldn't want the writers to be influenced by our story ideas (we're nuts without a doubt), but i wouldn't mind if they took some of the overall criticism about music, violence, tone, etc, to be taken into account ;0)

I have some travel plans, too, in August. Prolly a week in London and then a couple of weeks in Chile! Work related; so not sure how much of the places i'd be able to see :-( Excited, sorta....

Gubegirl, good to hear your stories of Bella and Stella (which makes me want to listen to 'Stella by Starlight', although associating a quadruped with it may not be the brightest idea!). And maybe Westliife should ask MGG to sing along with them....

tg's latest tweet - ha! "Owen Wilson is the best Woody Allen since Woody Allen” And MGG is the best MGG since Chuck Norris..."

CMF11 - i'll agree for the mo that it's a 'guy thing' and leave it at that. Hubs, however, is not getting off so easy.

Catch up later, my loves!

Question:
When it says "comment deleted by author" does that mean by the person who posted it or by Jill/one of the moderators? I've always assumed it means the former.
Gubegirl,
I'm Irish but all I know about Westlife is that they're "an Irish boy-band" and that they used to be hugely popular and by all accounts pretty nice "lads" as we say in the auld country. I'm way too old to really know anything useful about them.
Agree with sf81387: fun to have ideas and propose them here on this forum but I don't want the writers writing to please me or anybody else. Moreover it's a whole lot of fun to imagine visiting the set and contributing in some way to the show, let's stay with the fun of fantasy. Let the writers know their characters, their history and stay true to that. Does not mean there can't be development/change just let it be in character. And I like that new Twitter account that CM has. Keep bringing us those gems.
and CMFAN11, yes it's fun to have this civil forum where we can go a little crazy.
Just watched the S4 finale, #2 of the Pig Farm, what a wonderful, scary episode. Both actors who played those brothers was so good. The paraplegic eliciting absolutely no sympathy and the big guy, who did the kidnapping and killing just breaking your heart.
I remember watching a special feature about The Goobie Awards and you see him walking in the background still with those overalls on. Those squealing pigs put the wind up me every time.
Hotch really does not blink, he was so cool with Foyet at the end, showed absolutely no fear. I'd love to watch the next one but I'm much too tired and don't want to end up falling asleep on the couch.
Hotch looks so vulnerable in his hospital bed with that gown on and having to say goodbye to Haley and Jack and he still tries to keep it together. They really should have let him have some kind "dealing with it all" ( as I said "too tired") rather than shutting down emotionally in S6 and becoming a cariciature. Now I'm repeating myself, again, and becoming boring.
G'night all. As they say in Spanish "Que suenen con los Angelitos". May you dream of angels

OOOh Eleven, just read your comment after posting mine. Almost 30 years ago now I lived in Chile for a few years, interesting times, as the Chinese wish goes and a beautiful country. That's how I know how to wish us all sweet dreams.

CMFAN11 said...

Wouldn't it be crazy and completely awesome if Strauss WAS one of Rossi's former lovers/ex-wifes?

O so many thoughts to go with no CM connections :(
Lol

I'm really wanting some more snarky Rossi comments. Smartass characters are always unique w/ a good backstory 2 explain that trait in their personality.

Eleven said...

Teresa, can't wait to see that beautiful country! Apparently our office apartment has an ocean view :-D ok, i'm not going to get my hopes up (calm down, Eleven, and call Hotch).

And i love love love the Foyet arc for tiny little things, even more than for the EVENT of Haley's death. It revealed so much about all the characters, esp. about Hotch - Omnivore's "I'll tell them you're sorry" (the conspicuous omission of "i had no choice") and Rossi's "That voice in your head, it's not your conscience, it's your ego", 'To Hell..." "sometimes the day just ends" (and the entire quote at the end for that matter). "...and Back" - "What's Jack going to remember about me in ten years?", "outfoxed" - the walk down the prison corridor - i could actually feel Prentiss's fear and hear Hotch's heart beating against his chest and in his ears, and of course, finally, "100" - JJ and Will at the pharmacist's, all of them with Strauss and Morgan hauling Hotch from Foyet....(and Reid's incredible strength and the absence of frills throughout the episode). Oh and also, in "100" the way Hotch looked at Morgan when the latter said "I'm so sorry, Hotch" - almost as if to ask 'is this really the end' - and the tears not just the mourning of Haley but of, perhaps, two decades of a life shared.....I've made myself weepy now :-(

Will remember to dream about Angelitos, Teresa!

RMF said...

I'll bet Strauss was the one that pushed for those workplace anti-fraternization rules because of Rossi.

One of my favorite things in the Hotch arc is Prentiss hovering over Hotch after they had had such a rocky beginning.

CMFAN11 said...

@ RMF:

And I think it's awesome how he was overprotective of her during the Doyle storyline.....that will hopefully end quickly, eloquently, and have continouity from last season, but at the same time not overdue it or spend to much time taking care of those loose ends unraveled last season.

Damn I'm good w/ my metaphors tonight! lol Good night & God Bless guys....i'll catch y'all later.

PS: If ya'll come up w/ any new storylines/ character ideas/ spoilers.....please feel freee 2 let loose discussion eases my impatience for September 21st being seemingly a world away lol
