CBS Perpetrates Thursday Win
Crime-drama repeats rule the night

Three solid hours of crime and punishment, all of it the rerun variety, carried CBS to an easy ratings win Thursday night.

CBS averaged a 7.3 rating/12 share in primetime, far and away the best numbers of the night. ABC, 4.8/8, was second in households, although FOX (4.6/8) had more total viewers, 7.23 million to 7.07 million. NBC took fourth with a 3.3/6, and The CW trailed at 1.5/3.

In the adults 18-49 demographic, CBS' 2.9 rating was enough to hold off FOX, 2.8, for the top spot. ABC finished third at 2.4, followed by NBC, 2.1, and The CW, 1.0.

A "Criminal Minds" repeat, 6.5/11, put CBS in the lead at 8 p.m. ABC's "Ugly Betty" rerun was second for the hour. FOX got a 4.1/7 from the movie "Sweet Home Alabama" to finish third, edging reruns of "My Name Is Earl," 4.4/7, and "The Office," 3.6/6, on NBC (which nonetheless had a few more viewers than FOX). "Smallville" earned a 1.6/3 for The CW.

"CSI," 8.8/14, pulled in the night's biggest audience for CBS at 9 p.m. A "Grey's Anatomy" repeat scored a 5.3/9 for ABC, while FOX's movie improved to 5.2/8 and beat ABC in viewers. Reruns of "Scrubs" and "30 Rock" averaged 2.7/4 for NBC. A "Supernatural" repeat on The CW was fifth.

At 10 p.m., CBS' "Shark" delivered a 6.5/11. A "Men in Trees" repeat averaged 4.5/8 for ABC, and NBC's "ER" came in at 3.3/6.
