Hey, Velandra - this is when we just have to say 'life is beautiful'. Doesn't matter how much ugliness surrounds us. Hope your dinner was fabby!

Been running around for my Chile visa - may have to postpone my entire trip because of that - the UK apparently can handle me ;0)

I wanted to post but a new spoiler says Morgan's going to think Hotch betrayed them. Gah, i just hope that it's not some protracted melodrama. But if it showcases their acting abilities, i'm not complainin'.

See you again soon, TZs, and take care.

Have been out of the loop for a few days. Was in NYC and had a great time. Times Sq. was a bit crowded on Sun but I always love it. Then got to Cape Cod yesterday. I was pretty tuckered out when I got back on Sun night and was going to go straight to bed but just had a quick check and found that ep of CM where they solve that old case that had haunted Rossi. Just love that scene in the prison with poor Reid trying to hide behind the pillar while Hotch slowly takes off his jacket and tie ready to have at that creepy serial killer, a Hotchalanche par excellence! Then the scene as they drive back together. The combination of awkwardness, caring, humour and a tiny chink in the Hotch armour.
Lots of great scenes really in this one: Rossi interrupting Garcia and Kevin; Kevin asking to talk to Rossi "man to man"; the team arriving at Rossi's hotel and not taking "no" for an answer as they have him buy the drinks. I love Rossi in this one, he's the experienced profiler, the sophisticated man about town and the human being tormented by the cries of those children.
In the meantime you TZ's have been busy with recipes, travelogues and a bit of CM on the side. That sounds odd but you know what I mean. Bringing the tally to over 1,000 comments.
Velandra,
What a lovely gesture by your husband! And I see he gets home today or tomorrow, keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers.

Hey, friends from London - hope family and friends are all right....

Velandra - is your hubby back home today?

Teresa - Damaged is just great. Some things still feel a bit odd to me, though - eg, Morgan's reaction to the unsub. Not saying good or bad, but something jars. Can't put a finger on it. Scene at the hotel with Rossi - wonderful - see that's what i keep saying - just because a character is fallible or a tad grey doesn't mean he is any less good or any less deserving of our sympathy. Rossi is (was) an awesome character - he didn't have to become all cuddly to be loved and admired. Now they all seem a bit watered down. Can you even relate Damaged Hotch to the character that occupied the same space as a rookie Seaver, a problem/guilt-ridden Prentiss, a clearly troubled Reid? Ah, miss the good old days. The last few episodes of S6, though, while not great, were clearly getting better. So maybe i'm a little hopeful. That doesn't mean that i'm not counting the days to 21 September (shocking behaviour, hypocrite ;0)).

Ugh. Just when I was hoping that Morgan would surprise us by understanding, since he's been given a taste of what it's like to be in charge and have to make the calls. A snit from him is just too predictable.

OTOH, the whole Prentiss death thing is so OTT that they've put Hotch and JJ in a difficult position to defend. When you can't even take the whole situation seriously, it's hard to accept the necessity of their actions.

CMFAN11 said...

I agree RMF. His character should've grown/ evolved from his previous experiences as a leader.

Velandra said...

Yes my hubby came home today! He's all settled in bed and asleep. Now we just take it day by day. Gubegirl I can't wait to make him your zucchini bread. I'm picking up the ingredients tom. Hopefully it will tempt him into eating something, he has no appetite. You figure after a liquid diet for a week you'd eat everything in sight but I guess not. He ate before he left this am but said it made him a little sick....

About Morgan..... I too would have thought his character would have evolved having been in Hotchs position. He must understand that certain decisions have to be made and it's nothing personal, it's a matter of life and death. I expected him to be more mature than that. Maybe be mad for a minute but quickly come to understand that this was the way it had to be for everyones safety especially Emilys.

Gubegirl: don't worry I would NEVER try to tat up our boy, he is absolute perfection just the way he is. Though I do wish he would grow his hair out a bit even if it only resembles S1 or S2. Just a bit of length, though to me S5 was his hair at it's best. Also I do miss his oversized black glasses (did he get contacts)? It seems as the show evolved he became more what I would call polished nerd. I slightly prefer the unpolished unaware nerdy look of early seasons. He pulled it off w/ perfection. He put the sexy in nerdy...... It seems now he's a bit more couture nerd. Just as sexy but not as unaware.... Though I guess we all evolve through time.

Eleven: I didn't know you went on vaca.? I hope you and Mr. Eleven are having a fabulous time!

Sorry for the long post I just wanted to get it all out while I had a min. :)

Eleven,
Yes I had a negative reaction to Morgan being so rough with the unsub when he had him on the ground. The poor guy was just scared out of his wits. I know he was a big guy but Morgan is one strong dude not sure he needed to be so heavy handed. I also had a hard time with the profiling they did while with the 3 siblings were looking on/listening in. I guess even the good ones are not quite perfect.

Velandra:
Glad hubby is home. Bet you are, too! Just take it slow...the appetite thing is something that takes time - it's kinda like the stomach shrinks abit after sev days of liquid diet and takes awhile to feel normal again.

The thing with MGG and glasses: the specs we have seen are his real glasses. He wears contacts in everyday life and did on the show early on but in an interview said that he had a problem (had no solution or lost/damaged a lens or something) while out on a shoot and had to wear his glasses: that it was not planned but people liked it and he played around with the look for awhile. I like him either way but totally agree that he is way more gussied up than before and it's worked out nicely with the progression of the show: he's matured and we're accepting his "stylin" more than we would have before. It was the "grandpa duds" that endeared him to me so in the beginning.

If S-5 was when his hair was at its longest, I only minded it when it looked straggly and occas (I hate to say this, MGG, sweetness!) greasy. The new shorter cut makes him look like the male model he started as and because it would appear that he is back to taking modeling jobs, maybe it ties in with that?

I love that he has learned how to put the sexy in nerdy as you say. Despite his thinness, even when he is wearing his glasses, he still has sex appeal to me! Not in a brute-tuff guy way like Morgan but is his own sweet and geeky way. Love you, MGG!

Here's the other recipe:

Zucchini Loaves (from Canadian Best of Bridge Cookbook)

3 eggs
1 C oil
2 C sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 C washed, finely shredded, unpared zucchini, well-packed
1 1/2 C cake flour
1 C whole wheat flour
1/2 C wheat germ
1 tsp salt
2 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 C chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans are good)
In a bowl, beat eggs, oil, sugar, vanilla and zucchini. Beating on low speed, adding each of the dry ingred., adding nuts last and then only stirring. Batter will be quite thin. Line 2- 9 X 5 loaf pans that are greased and floured. Pour 2/3 full in each and bake for 1 hour at 325.

There you go, good luck and have a great first nite back at home!
I will be continuing to file my recipes (when will this every end?!) and watch CM reruns unless my hubbie who just had surg for a torn achilles tendon today chooses to insist on history channel or some other silly thing...:)

Velandra said...

Gubegirl: thanks for the recipe. I hope your hubby has a speedy recovery.

Hello!

Velandra - woohoooo to your hubby being back home!! take care you!

Blimey - hope any family and friends in London are ok? The newspapers are full of horror; i can only imagine what it's like to live it.

Velandra - i'm not on vacay. I'm yet to go - probs early Sept, and hubby won't be with me. Work trip. I'll have my laptop with me, though; so should have you guys and Minds for company :-)

MGG - love him any which way. and Morgan - let's wait and see. They've done strange things with his characterisation. I hope the writers get it together. Garcia, too - there's hardly been any growth for any of the characters over S6. So give us something big and complex to bite into!

Happy cooking and blogging and dancing and drooling!

Greetings!

@ Velandra:

Awww, bless! Your hubs sounds like such a sweetie - remembering those rings. Hope he's starting to feel a bit more hungry now, just in time for the zucc-courg-woteva ;-)) goodies.

@ Gubegirl:

I try the z/c veg periodically, but still don't like it - and don't reckon I ever will. Same with olives. Now broccoli, I adore that stuff. Yum! Wonder if you can make chocolate & broccoli cake?!

MGG has definitely been scrubbing up well recently. That Aldo ad was fab - and some photos I've seen via this blog... I'm impressed!

@ Eleven:

Don't even get me started about the scumbags who take, take, take all the benefits (erm... welfare? I think) funded by the taxpayers - and then thank us by smashing up the cities.

And the government recently stated they want to reduce the number of police. Yeah, what an excellent idea. Give 'em all a big fat cigar to reward their inspirational genius.

I have friends from school/university in and around London - including one friend who is a bobby on the beat (police offer on foot) at present. Mind you, if anyone starts on him! ;-))

It's also moving north, and has reached Manchester (about an hour from Limey Mansions). They're smashing up the city centre, which is really insulting after the IRA destroyed it in 1996 and then it was rebuilt so nicely (on the whole).

It's embarassing. CNN news is usually on in the breakfast rooms, English (insert potty mouth adjective) are shown rioting, the Americans shake their heads in disgust and that's my cue to pick up my cup of (English!) tea & slink from the room without uttering a single word. I really do feel quite ashamed, because as usual the scumbag minority give the decent majority a bad name.

Scum... shoot the lot of 'em.

**And breathe**

Told you not to get me started!!

When are you in the UK? Hope it'll all be sorted before you arrive.

@ Teresa:

Glad you enjoyed NYC - I hope to go back one day. Completely mad, but fun. Apart from that August humidity. Think I prefer the SW nosebleeds - which have pretty much stopped, thanks to the Ayr up my snout!

@ RMF:

Agreed - hope they handle the Prentiss returning from the dead thing swiftly and effectively. I think "less is more" - if done well - would be far better than dragging it out a la Reid's headaches. I'd prefer to see Morgan react in a subdued, hurt manner - rather than have a hissy fit. Again, less is more.

*****************

Yesterday I went on the San Juan Skyway, which is a beautiful drive through the mountains in SW Colorado passing through some cute little towns.

Today was amazing - Monument Valley (and Mystery Valley) in an open vehicle. An ambition I've had since the age of 8/9 achieved. Well worth the painful 4.30am get-up! Drove back to Cortez via the Four Corners Monument - my arse is that big it can fit into four states at once - and I have the photos to prove it!!

Mesa Verde National Park for me tomorrow. I bought one of those $80 annual passes, and am already $12 in profit. An absolute bargain!

Nighty night, y'all...

Blimey - i can understand your losing it! And news channels all over the planet tend to focus on the worst as well (i'm sorry but stealing from a bleeding man - god, i just don't have words. Although knowing the atrocities that are committed across our world, this would probs be tame - but again, that other acts might be more heinous does not make this one any less so). Problem is - someone somewhere may have had a reason to start what they did (I'm NOT saying it was justified), but now it just seems mindless and directionless and spawned purely by boredom. Hope you get daily updates from your uni friends (of their safety).

Thanks, Blimey, i should be there on the 3rd of Sept, ceteris paribus.

I've left a comment on the new thread about a tg interview i found and absolutely loved. Very little to do with anything other than Minds so i loved it! Very interesting thoughts from the silly man - suppose the most he has said about one agent hotchner and some aspects about the team and profiling. Sorry can't post a link. Google?

t said...

Eleven,
Have followed up on your comment on the other thread but came back here for the following;
What I really liked about that interview and there's another one now is how articulate he is. I hate to say it but often,in interviews, he's not. I guess this relates to what you were saying earlier about the expectations we have of those whom we admire/are fans of. We want them to be perfect and we feel let down when they're not. I imagine TG as intelligent and articulate and really have a hard time watching a lot of the interviews he's done. Not that he comes across as unintelligent but he does seem to have a hard time putting his ideas together. Of course often the questions he's asked are quite stupid and there are no good answers to them.
I think at one level I feel pain for him because he seems uncomfortable in these situations. In those interviews in Monte Carlo he did seem to be having an easier time generally and having some fun.

Teresa H. said...

After all that!!!
That last comment was me.

Eleven said...

I just checked again and there you were, t/teresa!

It's interesting what you say about tg's seeming inarticulate, but i don't think it's just the questions themselves. I know quite a lot of pretty inarticulate people who are extremely articulate when they write (his chats seem to support that theory). Maybe he's one of them.

Or maybe he really does have a hard time putting his ideas together (ie, he is inarticulate). But the sense i get is that there's usually something good at the end of his struggle to find the right words.

These two interviews, though, were absolutely wonderful. Maybe because he was a tad more relaxed outside the US and maybe for the first time someone asked him thought-provoking questions about the show and about the character. I don't know...i even like a fumbling tg, what can i say it loooove ;0) (actually, come to think of it, i liked his v old interviews with Jon Stewart - "rottweiler? pitbull? ---- collie" ha!). And bless his tweets (he has double-fingeredly destroyed my appreciation of the moon - now i look at it and think 'toenail clipping'. lord.)

Teresa H. said...

Don't get me wrong, I too love him fumbling or otherwise, well you know that already. His tweets are the best.
Hi Velandra hope there are some treats out there that tempt your husband to eat. Thinking of you both and your little boy.

Eleven said...

Oh i know, t ;0) as i was sayin' (and mistyped in doing so) it's looooove....sigh. What is to become of us.

CMFAN11 said...

Spoiler alert!

Ok so apparently Doyle will be in the first episode. Also there's going to be flashbacks and flash forwards in the episode in order to bring prentiss back. Also as the interview up top said "relationships will unravel"

On another note. I would like it if Garcia got really mad and slapped prentiss or something bc it would be a shocker in the opener. Also it would be nice if Morgan gave her a hug and was mature about it all. It would be different and interesting for those 2 characters and unexpected.

Blimey Limey said...

Good evening, y'all...

@ Velandra:

Hope hubby's doing well - have you made the yummies for him yet?

@ Eleven:

Are there any key terms I can google to find that TG interview?! Ta...

The scumbags are still at it - in Birmingham three men were run over and killed by a car when they were trying to protect their property.

Apparently it all started off with the police shooting and killing a known "gangster". His friends & family said he only had a replica gun but hadn’t fired it. It’s all come out that it was a loaded, fully functioning gun (which hadn't been fired). The "gangster" (we have loads of idiots who think they're gangsters, but wouldn't last five minutes in South Central!) was shot twice once in the arm and fatally in the chest. There was a peaceful protest which the scumbags decided to use as an opportunity to cause trouble, steal stuff from shops and generally disgust the decent majority.

I'm not a fan of the dirty little island, but this has REALLY p!ssed me off.

@ Teresa:

I've not seen too many interviews with TG but, like you said, I'd imagine being asked some pretty stupid questions by the press, etc must challenge even the most articulate of people! Like when someone comes out with something so unbelievably moronic you wonder if you've actually understood them correctly, and then you come across as being "a bit thick" (I'm not saying TG comes across as being a thickie, btw!!!) as you take a while to respond. Also, if you're quite a private person, being interviewed must be quite an ordeal.

When I did my Area 51 geek day out a couple of weeks ago, there were a pair of film makers at the Little A'Le'Inn. One of them came over to chat, was most interested to discover a Limey had driven for nearly three hours to get there, and then explained the were looking to do a fly-on-the-wall TV show about said establishment. He asked if I'd do an on-camera interview... the thought of being on TV absolutely horrified me so I politely declined before potentially turning into a gibbering wreck - but said he could quote anything I'd already said. I also got invited onto a prime time BBC show three or four years ago (long boring story) but again declined as the thought of appearing on national TV in front of millions... urgh! I'd babble nervously and make a fool of myself.

Acting is probably different (I didn't mind being on stage in school plays) because you're pretending to be someone else. If the character comes across as objectionable (not that Hotch does) then people should realise it's not the actor's real personality - well, probably! ;-))

@ CMFAN11:

Cheers for the spoiler - they've got one hell of a lot to get into that 42 minutes, let's hope it's done well.

Btw, I was watching Billy the Exterminator earlier - he was in Texas getting eight feet long gators out of people's pools, off their land, etc. The mind boggled!

**************

Off to Grand Junction via the scenic route & the Colorado National Monument tomorrow. Hopefully it'll be a bit quieter up there, too many rude Europeans (i.e. from the continental part) round here for my liking! ;-)) You know it's bad when the Americans are complaining about them.

Nighty night, y'all...

CMFAN11 said...

@ Blimey:

Please be careful if your back in the UK. I'm holding off any trip 2 England. It's last on my list as of this moment. I'll hope y'all get it resolved over there. If your not back yet I hope your enjoying the peacefulness here in the USA. Seeing those riots in London/ Rotterdam are really crazy bc the UK as well as other european countries are usually very civilized.

Also that's funny, you saw that on TV. It's been years since I've seen a alligator. Lol

I also agree let's hope they get resolved in 42 minutes and keep contiuinity with S6 storylines.

Eleven said...

Blimey, yes i realise Duggan may have been the (a) trigger, but now it's just mindless mayhem. Driving over people when they're trying to save their property? Anyway, let's not get into this in this way - it'll only make us more enraged. i'll only pray that things calm down and that people can feel safe again.

Velandra - how are you? Baking? How is your hubs?

Sorry, Blimey, haven't been able to check the key words for the vid on youtube - but maybe just go with 'thomas gibson monte carlo 2011 interview' and check the most recent uploads?

Hubby is doing on. We had to make a "quick" trip to the ER last night but it's nothing incredibly serious. No baking yet but I plan to try and get started tonight. It seems his appetite is returning. He's craving Mexican.... Lol .

Blimey: be safe when you get home. I hope your trip is going great! I caught a ep of hillbilly handfishin once.... Only in america:)

Gubegirl: thanks for taking time out of your day to post those recipes. Hope your hubby is doing better.?

Thanks for keeping me/family in your thoughts everyone.... you guys are the best.

Teresa H. said...

Velandra,
Glad to hear your hubby is getting his appetite back.
Blimey,
You seem to be having a royal good time. I'm sure it must be hard to hear the news from home.
I'm hoping for at least one good ep. of CM on TV tonight. I need a fix.
I was thinking about TG and his interviews and you know there is something sweet about the fact that he's not slick in interviews. Although sometimes he can be charming and disariming all the time saying nothing. I think it's just hard to watch him having what sometimes seems to be a difficult time of it. Eleven, you and I should form a comfort team and fly to his aid. Our rallying cry could be TGfTG, which we could beam to each other and off we'd go.

Teresa H. said...

Just caught most of Mosely Lane. Not one of my absolute favourites but love that MGG got to direct it so feel a certain loyalty to it. I really liked the two mothers, Amy's and Charlie's. And for the first time, after numerous viewings, I figured out where Charlie got the gun. I always thought that was a weak scene, how did he know there was a gun there?
Then tonight I saw that he got it out of her purse. How did I miss that before? Now the ep. about the truck driver looking for a mother for his daughter is on, am not so interested in that.

Eleven said...

Somehow i missed something important!! What's wrong with your hubby, Gubegirl? Hope he is ok?

Velandra - glad it wasn't bad. Take care my dear....(not on hols yet - i hope from the 3rd of next month if the visas work out in time). Although it's going to be a work trip...

Teresa - Mosley Lane was a very disturbing episode and Charlie's mum was so so good - sorry i don't rem. the actress's name. When she talks about waking up in the morning and feeling for just a moment that all is ok and then it all unravels. Beautifully written and acted. And yeah our wonder boy directing it makes it a bit special.

All for your idea of crying out tgftg, but if i so much as see him 300ft away i'm not sure i'd be capable of either speech (rallying cry or not) or thought. Did you see his "goofy smile" tweet? (shakes head for the umpteenth time at tg's 'infinite jest'.)

Oh the interview with Kirsten is absobloominglutely fabulous! what a woman! Incredible she is....

Hope your all having a great fri night!

Had a TG fangirl night last night. Watched random episodes of Dharma and Greg on YouTube and the movie Raising Waylon, not so good but he's just so gorgeous in it I have to get a fix every now and then.
As of yesterday evening the topic on the other thread was favourite episodes of CM. ( Could have changed since) I try to stop in there as well as here. I so appreciate what we have in this blog - this thread esp. but also the whole concept - that I want to contribute to the life of it. Not so well put but the best I can do. Good morning, y'all...

Another check-in, this time from Salt Lake City.

@ Velandra & Gubegirl:

Hope your respective hubbies are doing well and are both being well fed! However, when it comes to the TV remote control it's always a woman's right to choose! ;-))

Okay, here's a couple of things for you to chew over:

Why did Rossi and the first Mrs Rossi (who we'll meet this season) split up?

What does Reid actually get up to when he's not at work?

Maybe we'll find out a bit more in the new season - so it could be fun to speculate now??

Well folks, we joked about it a month ago, but I could've been driving a big black SUV "Fedwagon" around for the next (nearly) three weeks - but I declined in favour of a smaller soccer mom style car (which is really nice).

To cut a very long story short, I was getting fed up of the car I rented in Vegas - High mileage, tracking needs doing, spongy brakes and the tire (tyre!) pressure light had come on twice in the last week. According to one mechanic the right front tyre had been bashed - so there could be a slow leak or the sensor is now faulty. It's obviously been thrashed and treated like crap. Didn't trust it so didn't feel safe.

Went to the rental company at SLC airport who were lovely but due to rental restrictions could only rent a non-Utah plated car to me. After I declined the Arizona Fedwagon and the Colorado similar to the Dodge had already been rented out they called their corporate section and a few minutes later a Nissan** Rogue (love the name!) with a funky cactus Arizona plate turned up. Veeeeerrrrrrrry nice set of wheels!

** You say "Nee-san", we say "Niss-san" - a bit like that red vegetable which is actually a fruit! ;-))

Have a good Sunday...

Blimey Limey said...

p.s. I'll do my speculating today & get back to you (for what it's worth)...

Teresa H. said...

Good Sun. night everybody.
Blimey, I like the look of those Nissan Rogues. Happy Driving. Looking forward to your "speculation"
Gubegirl,
Hope your hubby is recovering from his surgery. I missed that piece of info earlier in the week. I'm sure you're keeping him well nourished.
Perfect rainy Sun. night. Eating some delicious Cadbury's Chocolate while watching an ep. of CM

Blimey Limey said...

I ain't revealing my speculation until others do!! Actually, I have a couple of ideas on each and would like to hear the opinion(s) of others as it may help me to refine my no doubt completely off-target ideas. That's what I like about this thread - we can bounce ideas off each other and it's all very pleasant.

Hope all's good with folks - it's gone very quiet on here. Don't make me start to worry... ;-))

The car is still wunderbar! Apart from when I came out of the nearby uber-Target earlier and found a cart (a.k.a. trolley) had run into it and left a very small dent which I hope isn't visible! I assume the user CBA taking it back to the, erm... whatever the place you leave the carts in is called (!!)... and it rolled down the slope. Lazy git, if I ever catch them I'll make them eat their own spleen! ;-))

Currently watching CM on A&E - it's the episode where the escort is killing rich randy (it's not a name on the other side of the Pond!) old men. Reid has just told Prentiss her brownstone once belonged to a gigilo. Ha! I love it when that madam makes Reid squirm - "What did you have in mind, sweetie?"

So the US version of Cadbury's chocolate is OK? I've seen it in a few supermarkets, but when I read the back and it said made by Hershey's (sorry, but I hate the stuff!) I put it back. I'll buy some next time I see it and sample the goods. My tastebuds are finely calibrated when it comes to my beloved Dairy Milk!

They're now sat around the table - I wonder if it's real coffee (or tea?!) in the mugs? (random interlude)

Going to the LDS library in the morning before heading on down to my stopover in Richfield via the scenic route (i.e. not the building site that is I-15). It'll be fun to hopefully track down a couple of elusive ancestors in *the* place to do it.

Have a good week, y'all...

Good Evening, fellow TZ's. Sorry I have been absent...it's been a tough wk. Husb had surg for torn Achilles on Tues and it's almost (but not quite) as bad as the left ankle he blew out in Jan., exactly 7 mos. earlier, also while playing tennis. That leg has only 30% of strength back in it so being on crutches with a bum leg and now a bummer leg, esp. the one nec to drive, is a real pain in the a--. Needless to say, he is of no help to me with walking Stella, the new-stronger-than-me dog, or anything else for that matter. Altho' he was able to man the barbeque tonite perched on a barstool. He will be in a cast for the rest of the month and then, if lucky, gets to grad to a walking boot. Tough sleeping in a cast, tho'.

As much of a drag this is, we cannot complain when we have friends and relatives with serious health issues such as cancer to battle, so let it be known, I am only slightly hagging (as my mom used to say.)

Had my monthly workshop yesterday and made the stuffed baked tomatoes with my neighbor/new friend's homegrown tomatoes, my homemade French bread, salad and the rasp/lemon curd tart. All yum but had the high maint crowd to deal with: 2 are lactose intolerant so were leery of the ricotta in the tomatoes, another claimed an allergy to Parmesan so leave that off the top of her tomato, pls. Then time for coffee: the pot of high octane (in Canada, we go for the "Kick Ass") that most of us prefer and love to milk down with 1/2 and 1/, well, geez, now they need decaf, and "BTW, brown sugar instead of white and oh: is it organic?" Gosh, and I just happened to have a bag of Turbinado (organic brown sugar) from another recent recipe, so were they happy campers! 7 people here and 4 had "issues."
But they left quite content, with leftover tomatoes, bread and dessert; better for my thighs, right?!

That's all for now, buddettes (you, too, CMFan11) hope that I get the chance to get back on again soon but I am totally wiped out now and must call it a nite, Just cleaned up the kitchen while half watching the CM rerun with the baby/adoption/kill the moms of girls epi.
V-hope that your hubbie is making great progress & feeling well;
BL-glad your 'cation is going so well. Try and ck out St. George: it is the cleanest place I have ever seen & has super nice people.
Pat-You need an easier recipe in your repertoire to sell the players on: go for the rasp/lemon tart: prep 15-20 mins top, looks beautiful, tastes great and do it quick while you can still get raspberries!

All you caring TZ's: thanks for your support and inquiries about my weekend warrior:)

TY, Jill, for leaving us to our own devices: we so appreciate it. Realize we are running our of room but have come to be good at digging so if you are able to leave us alone, well, we'd love that. Hope this finds you feeling well, also.XXOOXOOXX

G' nite y'all!

Just got back from Dr. w/ the hubby, im a bit tired b/c his Dr. Is 50 miles away and his appt. was at 8. Im beginning to hate driving. Everything healing nicely we see his oncologist next week and will find out when he starts chemo.

Gubegirl: glad your hubby is on the mend. Sounds like you had quite the picky eaters over the other night but if anyone can handle it you can. You are the TZs answer to Martha Stewart :) glad you are well though a bit tired I'm
sure, I was getting slightly worried b/c you hadn't posted in a few but I know how busy things get when the hubby is out of commission. Hope all continues well.

Blimey: I know what you mean about the fedmobile or "soccer mom" car. I too was recently faced w/ same dilemma. Ford Explorer or Volvo SW..... I was tempted by the Explorer but in the end bought the Volovo ( i always did prefer foreign cars) and I absolutely love it! Glad your having a smashing time ( did I use that word right?)

Well talk to everyone later, Happy Monday (CM reruns on Ion tonight... yay!!!!) to echo gubegirls sentiment, thanks again Jill your the best. Hope all is going well for you.

I have an idea for an unsub. I'm hoping Blimey will share some of her ideas for discussion after I tell mine lol.

Ok so instead of a prostitute or a terribly racist Texan cop. I was thinking for an unsub that would be original and something rarely found in TX, anyways my idea is of an enviormentalist that takes out oil company employees/CEO's bc he or she thinks that their ruining the planet and are they think they are helping it by killing those employees. Also the unsub lives in the woods and uses horticulture instead of agriculture so it makes them harder 2 find.

Velandra said...

Blimey: your starting to sound like a bit if an unsub yourself.... Making people eat their own spleens... Lol. Now there's an idea for a ep. a unsub that makes people eat their own body parts before killing them.

CMFAN11 said...

I like that idea for an unsub velandara. As long as they didn't show the victims eating their body parts I'd be cool w/ it lol

Teresa H. said...

Remember "Lucky"? Didn't he make people swallow their own fingers.
Not sure if that's physically possible but it was a creepy episode.

Velandra said...

Theresa H. : he actually made them eat fingers from his previous victims. Very creepy ep. I love the end when the priest says god is in all of us and the unsub says so is Tracey. Jaimie Kennedy was very convincing in that role.

Teresa H. said...

Oh yes, it was other people's fingers. Of course, that's one of the things that made it so creepy.

Hello, TZs! Gubegirl, glad your hubby's getting better...TZs' Martha Stewart is a great name! Velandra, good luck for next week...hope everything goes well. God bless.

I'm completely out of ideas, for the characters and the unsubs and everything CM (wow). Could be the calm before a storm, though, if i know myself a wee bit (which i sometimes doubt i do).

Blimey, when do you get back home?

I desperately need a vacation. My mind's all a shambles and has probs switched off completely. Was not feeling too chipper. Read a Henning Mankell - again disappointed. Don't think i'll read another Inspector Wallander - have read 5 and still not feeling it.

Take care, my dears....catch you later!

Evening all...

Currently on a stopover in Richfield (UT) - nice hotel, although no ION on the telly. Off to Springdale via Bryce canyon tomorrow. Luvly jubbly!

My speculation:

Rossi - Depends on whether this ex-wife is the love of his life, or whether that's the woman mentioned a couple of seasons ago. If the former, did she break his heart and so since then he's never allowed himself to fully commit to a romantic relationship for fear of being hurt again?

Reid - I reckon he's more socially active than we're led to believe. I'm not saying he's a party animal, more like he regularly meets up with other "geeks" who share the same interests. Although what those interests could be...

@ Gubegirl:

Your hubby is proof that exercise is bad for you! Sat in front of the TV is far less dangerous. Typical man though, *has* to be in charge of the barbecue! ;-))

You're a saint having to cater for all those fusspots - people come to mine and they get what they're given!! Actually, I do a mean veg lasagne which works well if the herbivores turn up - that's the extent of my dietary concessions. And anyone who knows me knows I view the concept of anything decaf as abhorrent and therefore don't stock it!

@ Velandra:

Glad your hubby is improving, did he get round to having that Mexican food he was craving?

Yeah, "smashing" is good - as long as it doesn't involve rioting! ;-))

Still liking the car - it's much bigger than the Limeymobile but you don't feel like you're driving a tank. I think it's because you see a lot more big cars over here, with our fuel prices (approx $8 for a US gallon = ouch!) they're not as popular on the dirty little island.

Nothing wrong with a bit of psychopathy - and there's something "satisfying" about the word spleen! Like the idea for the episode, btw.

I loved that line in Lucky.
Vicar: God is in all of us.
Psycho: So is Tracy Lambert.

We need more lines like that next season.

@ CMFAN11:

Love the episode idea - that would make a fab episode. It would need to include a 3.5lb cinnamon roll though - death by cinnamon roll. Perhaps we should all club together and make our own crime show??

Btw - I bought Ben & Jerry's cinnamon roll icecream (not available in the UK) - it was delicious and about half the price here. I'm also addicted to anything made from blue corn!

@ Eleven:

I fly out of Vegas on 1st Sep & arrive back in the monsoon (there were flood warnings where I live last week!) on the 2nd. Urgh.

@ Jill:

Hope all's good with you & ta for the thread. Keeping us contained for the benefit of others - good move! ;-))

Gubegirl - I watched my first episode of 'the killing' today - now I can't wait to see the rest of it. I'm even contemplating calling in sick, begging, stealing, etc, so I can watch more of it...at one go. So thank you for the recommendation! (I also watched half an episode of Castle yesterday - half because I just couldn't get through it. Why? Because I tend to compare everything with CM, that's why, and most of the crime series come up short.)

The dark tone of 'the killing' tickled a few brain cells. Do you find that the bodies of the victims shown on CM seem a little too arranged and sanitised? I know that they obviously cannot show too much (and really I don't want them to - the cadaver scene in 'boardwalk empire' nearly made me throw up - if you watch it you'll know what I'm talking about), but I think they (the CM peeps) should desist from showing too much considering that when they try to do so, what they end up showing seems less real than it would if it were left to our imagination (I swear this sentence makes sense to me). Eg, bodies arranged/wrapped strategically so they're not naked (really, they sometimes look as if they're dressed up in plastic bikinis. If only the unsubs were so thoughtful). I'm sorry if I'm making no sense at all! I wish I could put it better - to cut a long (and silly) story short, I don't want our CM to become like the other procedurals, afraid to go places, afraid to experiment, catering ONLY to a particular kind of viewer as it becomes even more popular. Is it a bit stuck - can't make up its mind whether to go the way of 'the castle' or the way of 'the wire'? It was good enough in the first few seasons to just be itself, striking a rare balance between opposites despite how dark the themes were (are?), how tragic the situations. I don't want it to lose its 'heart' to slickness.

And now I'm going to stop with my paranoia :-)

Blimey - flood alert?! Can you extend your trip? Home must sound a bit alarming to you these days—pls take care...

MGG posted a pic of himself on Facebook( and I'm sure twitter)in a cardboard box and SM eating a burrito..... It was adorable!

Howdy y'all, hope Wednesday evening is finding you well?

Leaving Sunny Springdale (in Utah - and a really nice little town) early tomorrow to head up to Tonopah via Scotty's Castle for a one night stopover. Got to skim the top of Vegas, it'll be weird going back as it feels like ages since I was there - even though it was less than three weeks since I left! Am already psyched up for the crazy drivers.

@ Velandra:

Hope hubby's still improving & that life isn't too stressful at present.

@ Gubegirl:

And same as above to you! I meant to mention about BB... you commented a few days ago about the temptation to tune into season 4 to see how bad Walt's got. Don't do it!!! I fully understand how tempting it is, and I'd only missed two episodes when I had the opportunity to watch. However, so much goes on you'd be really missing out. When you see Los Pollos Hermanos, the Crossroads Motel (where the meth addict hooker lives) & Walt's house remember that they were on my ABQ BB geek tour. Looking forward to catching up when I get back and see if there's anything else I recognise.

I did read that they're doing a final season (5) of 16 episodes to tie it all together.

@ Eleven:

I've programmed the Killing in to record while I'm away (if it doesn't work I'll have a psychotic break!) - totally agree, it's highly addictive. I actually quite like Castle as a spot of light relief, although obviously it's not in the same league as the likes of CM, Dexter, Breaking Bad...

I also agree that crime scenes are sanitised on a lot of crime shows and while I get why they do it (e.g. so under 18s can legally watch it) I do wonder if there's a way they could be more graphic, but without showing everything? I don't have a clue about set building, directing, etc - but surely with clever camera angles they wouldn't need to show the crime scene in its entire raw "glory", but we'd see enough to fill in the blanks to whatever extent our warped little minds wished to. I know what I mean by that, even if it comes across as a load of random twaddle!

Ha! Any flooding would have to reach biblical proprtions before my abode gets flooded. A friend posted some photos on facebook a couple of days ago - they're all wearing winter coats and there's puddles all over the place. And they only live four miles from me!

**********

Finally, I realised I forgot to explain what that TV thing was about. I participated in a genetic study (yes, I'm 100% human!) and the firm involved wanted people to go on this BBC show and explain whether the results had affected their lives & whether they now viewed themselves differently. As the answer is an emphatic NO on both counts, I'd have actually been an incredibly boring interviewee as well as a bumbling bag of nerves idiot.

Finally, the Ayr is being a godsend as the snout is starting to grumble again, this time on the other side.

Nighty night...

BL: I was about to ask "Where in the world is Blimey???" ( a'la Matt Lauer, "Today" show annual event.)

Am two epi's into the 3rd season of BB. Wow! I am loving it. So many twists and turns and complications. Excellent acting. Totally new world to me-all this drug stuff.

My 5th season of Dexter just arrived from Amazon yesterday. Makes me crave that man again big-time, also.

Have no time to keep up with all this excitement!

Poking crickets dusted with calcium at the new bearded dragon and determining which lettuces appeal to his palate is my latest project while the son is over moving his GF into her apt at ASU (AZ.) (This was her b'day gift to him.) Ah-h-h this zoo of mine in addition to the man on crutches is about to do me in. Call an avail unsub for me, would you? I think I am near a psychotic break.. maybe I could be the unsub...

wWish I could see MGG and SM in the cute pix, Velandra, but I don't Facebook and refuse to start. Hope all is well at your house. LMK how goes the baking!

Later - all have a good one. (Very quiet here, somebody else write, would you?!)

Ok so apparently Andy Milder from "Weeds" will be guest starring on a S7 episode. As a character who's story will involve a serial killer who takes unusual things from his victims. Also another guest star will be on that same episode, but I can't remember her name oops lol. Where is SF when ya need her? Lol

According 2 boomtron PB is out this season. Which is obviously wrong since we all kno she'll be back lol.

I just hope storylines/ continuity and are Prority 1 and not have 2 many guest stars.

Good evening, y'all,

Loooooooong drive today - over 460 miles from Springdale to Tonopah. The last twenty miles were really hard going - I'd reached my limit!

It *was* weird to be back in Vegas's northern edge for a short while - got quite attached to the place last month despite all the loony drivers! Then had an enjoyable drive into the boonies - I love those long open NV highways where it's like you're in a valley and the mountains rise on each side. Scotty's Castle was really interesting - beautiful interior too. Back in Pacific time - the 25 hour day was a bonus!

Four states in one day (UT-AZ-NV-CA... and back to NV) and this time it didn't involve sitting in the middle of the Four Corners Monument! Off to Tahoe tomorrow via Yosemite NP - another long drive.

@ Gubegirl:

Glad you're liking BB. Meth is relatively unknown in the UK, there's the occasional small find but thankfully it's never really taken off (yet?). When I say I look like a tweaker on my passport photo (seriously, I look so ill!) the Limeys haven't got a clue what I'm on about.

You're very tolerant - there's no way my mum would look after a bearded dragon while I'm away, although my dad would probably view it as being preferable to the cat!

@ CMFAN11:

Oooooh, I love Weeds (another thing I'm missing this summer - it'll be downloading frenzy to get up to date before CM, Dexter, etc start).

Currently watching The First 48 on A&E - one of the cases is in Texas, but as I'd never heard of the place I can't remember what it's called. Haven't seen any 3.5lb cinnamon rolls though!

Nighty night, folks...

Ok so I already posted this on the other thread bc this one was outta pocket. But I would like it if......

Prentiss adopted Declan and got married at the S7 finale. What do yall think about that TZ's?

Feel free 2 elaborate on my ideas lol I love discussing it w/ all of you in this hideout from the rest of the CM world and it's been cool making new friends equally as fanatic about CM as I am. Lol

Goodnight everyone. I love Lucy episodes are calling my name.

Gotta love the classics!

CMF11 - really? You wouldn't want to be the lucky chap yerself? Think they're keeping her single...for you :-)

I've left a rather insipid, shallow and worthless fangirl comment on the other thread (ashamed of hormonal self. MAYbe). Bearded Hotch is just messing with my head i think. Thank goodness it's just one episode. They at least know when to stop with the torture (btw, tg's twitter pic is now bearded as well).

Blimey - to your second-last post re bodies - yep, that's what i think - they should show less so our minds can conjure up all the evil - much more potent than PVC bikinis hiding the naughty bits - this isn't Criminal Baywatch, right? Plus, plus and also - i think they should go a little light on a few things - light, music, makeup (incl. greasy/odd-seeming hair products), pace. Man, am i greedy.

Saw Masterpiece again - oh how i miss that Rossi. So assured! And Reid's excellent, though largely abstruse, Existentialist joke! So much good writing - i'm getting all nostalgic and mournful here. Just little hints of action (helicopter, too!) and a lot of dialogue, mental gymnastics, humour, sarcasm, even a little conflict. Had forgotten the "Jordan attacking Hotch in his office" scene. It was funny, as was the one where Kevin and Pen are interrupted by hotch ("Kevin, (pause) she's busy now (emphasis on 'now'"). Brilliant. I love thee Criminal Minds.

Velandra - how are things? Has hubs got his appetite back? Are you Gubegirl-meets-Martha-Stewart-ing? Take care...

Chirpy-do!

Hello everyone, sorry for being out of touch for a few days. Trying to limit computer time for non essential stuff, I get so sucked in sometimes.
But had to share the following with you.
Had lunch in my dreams with Shemar last night, we'd been on a hike or bike ride or some equally crazy venture, totally platonic, totally cool. Then to top it off, TG was talking about his friend Teresa. Again totally platonic, if it weren't it would be way too steamy for public consumption. Mind you at one point he referred to Mrs. C. and this was also me, LOL, no idea where that came from. But hey, I'll take what I get and be grateful for it.
God he looks good in the promo pics.

gubegirl said...

I knew that pic of the bearded Hotch-ness would get to you guys!

Hah! Wish there were some good ones of MGG or SM for the remaining feeling-very-dry-and Cm-less ones who are not pining away for TG...funny dreams Teresa-you'd better stay here, GF, you do not go to the other thread, do you hear me??LOL.

Hey, budd, CMF11, I love the adopt-Declan idea. It occurred to me during last season because of how good Em was with him, but I have to admit it didn't since. I like it.

BL: I so admire you motoring around our country like you were in your right mind (another one of my mom's sayings) and I am happy things are going well for you. I loved Scotty's castle - I revere OLD. Good that's the directions I'm going...??:)

V: How goes the Baking?? My haridresser texted me 12 times yesterday re: the rasp-lemon tart yesterday. I hope it tuned out OK...she couldn't even find the cookie do' in the grocer's frig... oh my. some of us have issues...

Off to dust crickets, walk dogs and jazzercise. We're supposed to Flash-mob at the local Sonic tonite. Get a visual on that one, TZ's....

TTYL.

Think Shemar's looking good in those two piccies (when does he not?!). He doesn't make me miss oxygen or grey matter, but i fully acknowledge his perfection :-D And you got two sides of Morgan, yo - screaming and quiet, kevlar-shirt-clad and suited. Niiice! Maybe you need a Shemar-Goob wallpaper, Gubegirl (but i don't think your hubs is going to like me v much).

I did not miss your post but because I did not post the day I read it, totally spaced and forgot today when I got on again. I am glad you are enjoying The Killing: I love it and can hardly wait til it comes back. I was totally thrown by the finale and am trying not to think about it because it makes me quite crazy.

This spacing-out thing: Happening to me more and more these days: slightly on overload between trying to keep Stella out of the-man-on-crutches-who-lives-with-me's bed on the floor (he can't climb the stairs right now,)
dusting crickets and picking thru Spring Mix for just the right lettuce for Fergus, the baby dragon, in the son's absence. Yesterday, he ate 5 crickets (the dragon, not my son!) in front of me and was hopping around like he was on speed (Breaking Bad??!!) and this AM, would not touch one, and I am bummed. Maybe he is full? Will be offering the lettuce next and try another cricket.

Tha pics at the top of the blog are nice of Shemar (how could that man not look good? Impossible, I say!) but MGG: oh, sweetie, pls, PUH-LEASE come to my house so I can fix your hair! WAY too short of the sides and flippin' out on top...don't get me wrong, you are still a cutie, but not a hottie when you wear your hair like that!

Other MGG fangirls? Whaddaya think?

I am still lamenting that I don't get to see the cute pic Velandra found on Facebook of both my guys, SM and MGG and that's what I was referring to.

I have seriously thought about wallpapering my office with pics of "my" men: I think I have three mags with Shemar on them, the Juxtapoz and Vanity Fair with MGG plus the Mr Porter spread, my Keith Urban People-Country cover (oh, those BLUE eyes!) and sev others in a folder some where. I figure I could work in Adam Levine's Cancer Awareness poster (tats and all) standing in his nudie-toots (another of my mom's sayings) smack dab in the middle. Nice, huh??

If my office had a door, I would have already done it. But it is an open room off the hall on the way to the main bathroom downstairs so everyone would see it. I could live with that, but the husband could/would not. Esp in his current state. Sigh...

Back to The Killing: What do you ladies who watch (BL?) think of that hottie Joel Kinneman? Those of us who have soft spots for those tall, thin guys...oh, my, as scruffy as he can sometimes look, he is growing on me big-time.

Enuf! Must finish my coffee, feed Fergus and get the show on the road, here.

Have a great day, y'all. U2 CMF11!

Later!

CM binge on A&E tonight - fabulous!

Reid: Grumbles about injured knee.
Rossi: (shrugs) "It's ditch!"
Makes me larrrrrf.

At Lake Tahoe in a basic but clean motel - in Tahoe my budget doesn't go past basic - haha! Very pretty round here but I'm suffering from hypothermia - 60f (15.5c) on arrival at 7.30pm & the owner said it could get as low as 40f (4c) tonight. Good grief, it's warmer in England!

New addiction = strawberry Philly. Manna from heaven (well, the Safeway a few minutes walk away). Wish we had that flavour in the UK.

Also bought some American Cadbury's dairy milk - seeing as it ain't going to melt in this polar region (!!) - not bad by American chocolate standards ;-)) but something's lacking, it doesn't taste quite right. Ours is more chocolately, this is still slightly anaemic - but not as anaemic as the usual stuff from this side of the Pond.

We'll make the chcolate, you make the good TV crime shows - deal?! And then we trade...

p.s. A bearded dragon called Fergus?! Although a colleague has named her new baby bunny Dexter after one of her heroes!

Blimey: Good that we have such sim. tastes: I had strawberry Philly on litely-toasted sesame seed bagels 2 X last wk (1/2 bagel ea. time and only on jazzercise days - that's how I justify!) Yum!

No CM on A&E tonite - we've got those silly storage war shows. Who watches that stuff? Not as bad as Billy the Exterminator or whatever his face is but geez...

I'll take chocolate just about any way I can get it, but yesterday picked up some Espresso Dark Chocolate Beans from my fave place, Trader Joe's. Yum! Strong coffee flavor and 22 beans are only 70 calories - whoo-hoo! I was on a hunt for the Wine Crackers that also double for snacks with coffee. You must not eat them with anything else...they will not taste nearly as good. But they are perfect with wine or coffee, just slightly sweet little oyster cracker size but they look like little pillows. But I am bummed: they have been discontinued! Had to call around and snagged the last 4 bags at a store about 15 miles away but worth the drive. If you are near a TJ's and are a wine or coffee drinker, you MUST ck into these babies: TJ's Wine Crackers in a little brown and cream colored bag by the other crackers.

And BTW, the baby bearded dragon is actually named Ranger (after the NHL hockey team, the NY Rangers, of course, that my fa-in-law used to play for. But I told my son that Ranger sounded like a big dog and this is a 6 inch lizard. He may be two ft. long someday, but now the name does not fit. So, when my aunt called that day, her last name came to me suddenly and it seemed to be an appropriate name for the reptile so I began calling him Fergus. He tips his head and gives me a curious look when I call him that so I think he likes it. (or thinks I'm nuts, but what does a baby dragon know?) I will suggest Dexter, tho', my son loves Dexter as much as I do.

On a sad note: returned Stella the part PIT terrier to the pound today after an especially bad day at training class. Too much mouthing which they advise a "pittie" should never be allowed to do; the "prey" instinct in them is much too strong. Could be really bad news for the cat, lizard, chihuahua and Baby Sophia. Very sad for me and I bawled my eyes out because she was becoming my baby but the pound had told us her mix of terrier breeds was mainly Boston (we had prev had a wire-haired fox and a Welsh.) How naive of me but everyone from the vet to the groomer was suggesting the same and I was becoming more and more fearful. I do not have 40 hrs a wk to train this Wild one and they told me that's what it would take since she is almost a yr and a half old. I will be applying the Lipton's tea bags on my eyes tonite as they are almost swollen shut. I used to cry at Lassie shows so you can imagine how this felt to me. Bella the cat is once again enjoying having the run of the house tonite, that's a good thing. Pls cross your fingers with me that Stella gets a good home with a "single guy who can take him in his truck to work with him every day": that would not be me:(

On a lighter note: I have not posted again on the newer thread but I'm with anonymous on there late today: that sweater is WAY wrong with our new and improved boy, Reid. After seeing him in all the GQ stuff the past sev. mos., the hair and the sweater vest do NOT work for him. He has graduated from looking like the middle school preppie kid and his grandpa - both. Let him keep his mismatched socks, and leave the short sleeves off him but dress him like he is going on 30, as he is on the show. (31 in real life, right? I've lost track now.

Teresa: cked out the twitter pics of MGG: some very cute, TY very much.

SF: We will miss you. When you begin to miss us if we don't begin to hang there, pls feel free to come back here:) I am going to ck out the link you posted right now - thanks!

G'nite y'all.

I have added this box of MGG to my next Amazon order...hope it arrives before S-6 does...:)

God, that kid is so fun, I can hardly stand it. Now my face is hurting as much as my eyes are! He is selfless is in his desire to humor anyone, anytime and I love him for that. Plus he has absolutely no ego How rare is that? Love you, Matthew!

Oh, Gubegirl,
Sorry about your dog. I'll keep my fingers crossed she finds a good home. Glad you found the his twitter account and found it enjoyable.

Sunday night CM binge on A&E. They seem to be having an uber-badass focus - first Frank, now the Reaper.

"100" has just started. I watched online the day after it showed on this side of the Pond & haven't been able to watch it since. Bloody shameful TG didn't get an award for his performance this episode.

Spotted two errors so far:

1). Evilution of Frank: When they were out in the Nevada boonies (ahhhh, heaven) Garcia was given a number to trace - the area code was 303 which is Denver but it was traced to Golconda (in said boonies).

2). Faceless, nameless: When Hotch was asking what the Reaper left he was lying down in the hospital bed, but then in the immediate next shot he was propped up aginst the pillows - with no assistance.

Am loving San Francisco - despite it making England feel warm! I drove in over the Golden Gate, got lost for half an hour (but it was very pretty!), drove down some stupidly steep hills and bagged the second to last parking space at the hotel. The soccer mom car ain't moving until Friday when I head down the coast road to Solvang.

Decided to do all my excursion planning & coast route planning tonight so I can get my CM fix (no Ion - again!) and get ahead of myself. Us ladies are true experts in multi-tasking!

@ Gubegirl:

Sorry to hear about the pooch, but you did the right thing. Sometimes something (be it a person/animal/situation) isn't right for us through no fault of our own, and while it may hurt at first the right choice usual leads to less heartbreak (not sure if that's the correct word) in the long term.

Billy the Exterminator is dire - but quite funny in its novelty value (for me, anyway). I agree about Storage Wars being a load of twaddle, although I like The First 48 and Beyond Scared Straight.

I'm going to email the Philly UK site when I get back and BEG them to start doing the strawberry flavour - I don't understand why they don't as it would go down a treat on those Limey palates (trust me, I know).

Have a good week, y'all...

Gubegirl, I'm sad about your furry friend - hope it goes all right with her. Blimey put it very well...

I'm really glad you found MGG's twitter. I don't follow it as religiously as I do tg's, simply because I'd OD on their niceness if I did, but I do check it out once in a while. Thing is, be VERY careful - you might just fall deeper and before you know it you'll be waking up in the morning with a goofy grin on your face and running to your computer as soon as you're able (Teresa would agree with me I think). It's evil I tell you, quite irresistible :-) I guess all this time I never quite saw celebs in this way before - this cast seems, how shall I put it, normal-ish? During tg's negotiation brouhaha, I think I became a 'bit' (ahem) obsessed with him. Now it's just very nice and amusing to follow his tweets/tumblr - I get a bit of NASA, Sesame Street, Marvin Gaye, CM, shoes/feet/socks and Led Zeppelin all in one place - and I just thank these guys for giving us a bit of their time and shouting out to us when they can.

There's more from gibby and the goob's monte carlo escapades emerging every now and then - can't post the link here I'm afraid (I'll check if I can find it on youtube) but I think those two wake up every morning and pop a few funny pills. MGG said he was distracted by thoughts of shemar's abs and then they called SM when a journo asked who got the most love letters. So tg's on the phone with SM and they chat (it's v early where shemar is) and in the midst of the convo gibby says "so you went home and you're back in Miami? What's her name?". No pause anywhere. And then "it's just us and 65 journalists here…"

Blimey, good spot! We're noticing pillows now, are we ;0) Me, I'm only interested in pillow talk with his hotchness. 100 - haven't seen it in a while. An award would have been nice, but I don't see his perf in this episode as a one-off. Love his whole hotch persona - the little things he does as hotch - the tilt of his head, the smile reserved only for Garcia, the beginnings of all his actions in his eyes and the set of his jaw (before a typical hotchalanche - you can see it in his eyes - rem Pleasure is My Business, Limelight and 3rd Life? And I'm like 'uh-oh'), his very special Jack voice, etc. Anyway I don't understand how they decide these things anyway - is Michael C Hall in Dexter any better/worse than, say, Jon Hamm in Mad Men or Bryan Cranston in BB? It's so contextual, how in the he* do you decide? Apples and oranges to me.

Velandra, how be thee?

gubegirl said...

TY, guys for your understanding about Stella. I am still sad but so less stressed. I did not realize how much stress she was causing me. A 17 day old headache that rivaled Reid's was getting really old.

Feeling better today. Finished BB S-3 last nite. WOW! Do I jump in and try to catch the last few epi's before S-4 is over or wait until the DVD comes out??? Do they ever show re-runs of it? Anyone??

I hate watching the DVD's sometimes because the volume is so poor; no matter how high you crank it, if you are so much as rustling a paper (that would be me, always multi-tasking)you cannot hear the show. What is the deal with that? It's happening on more than one DVD player so I know it's not that.

Eleven, thanks for the tips about the Twittering but I am so OCD if I started, I would not be able to stop. Pls cont. to clue me in when there is something I need to see. My sweet boy in a box was a must-see. I just wonder when he will arrive here? Hope Shemar did not throw his burrito wrapper in the box with MGG; I wonder if he will come postage-due?? I will gladly pay...:)

Working up the courage to go and ck out the youtube of me and my jazz studio's students flash-mobbing at the local Sonic drive-in last Fri nite. People were driving by and honking to beat the band - prob'ly were wondering what all these crazy women were doing dancing almost in the street during the dinner hour?? Actually, it was a blast! At least I didn't eat there, tho' I suspect some did. Lotsa kids, hubbies and grandkids turned out to watch us try not to trip and fall off the curb while shaking and shimmying to Shakira, Christina Aguilera and the like. A-a-h-h, it'll be one for my scrapbook.

Later, y'all. Hope you have a good day.

V, Let us hear from you, we are wondering how you and hubby are doing, GF. When I'm done with the Gube, I'll put him back in the box and send him your way...:)

Ooooh, my poor aching feet. I've schlepped for MILES today, including UP too many of those steep hills - had to buy a large helping of Haagen Daaz (sp?) to aid my recovery - haha!

Bused it into town for a couple of hours this afternoon and had a mooch. Loads of branches of Aldo around - despite MGG looking pretty fine (he's definitely scrubbing up well these days!) nothing will persuade me to buy their uncomfortable shoes again. One pair is unlucky, two pairs say something - and my feet are normal! I also noticed he's wearing matching socks - he sold his soul!!! ;-)) **

Well folks, I have ION on this telly! Somehow missed it last night. "Our darkest hour" has just started - I love the way they imply Flynn has been on a roadtrip - and include some of my recent & future destinations (Grand Canyon... Monument Valley... Reno... San Francisco... Los Angeles...). I could be the next Flynn - beware y'all! ;-))

Actually, on the subject of the great Tim Curry, he does the voice over on the best advert to appear on UK TV in years - if you haven't seen the Cravendale milk cats with thumbs (I mentioned it a while back) it's on youtube. Absolute genius. I like the one for Sears opticians over here - the obviously single woman who calls the cat in and doesn't realise she's actually cooing lovingly at a raccoon.

** Socks - if mine don't match it freaks me out, hence my wide selection of hideous/weird patterned pairs - there's no chance of getting odd socks! (Xmas holly tomorrow, methinks) I bought a potentially fabulous pair in Colorado with moose on them, but one sock has stripes and the other doesn't. It was the last pair and I assumed I'd find some in another gift shop in the area - oh noooooooo, don't think so. I'm lumbered with the dilemma of whether to wear a pair of socks which don't match.

Just remembered - I saw what Reid will look like if he's still around when the show gets renewed for season 17! On the bus back from town to Presidio this bloke got on who looked just like an older Reid, even down to the dress sense (or not!) and the bag. I sniggered into my Starbucks caffeine overload and tried not to make eye contact for fear of spraying my brew over the woman next to me.

@ Eleven:

**preens** - I thought I was waffling again, thanks!

As a pet owner, you have to make decisions about what's best for them as they can't do this for themselves. Sometimes what's best for them may be upsetting for us, but we have to put their needs first (apparently the cat has started waking my Mum up at 3am for attention, if he goes round to my Dad's side he'll be an ex-cat...).

I'll have to look up that interview indirectly involving SM, sounds really funny!

Yeah, I like spotting continuity errors - pillows, phone numbers... you name it and I'll spot it. I'm on a mission now to find more little mistakes - the type which don't ruin the storyline, but obviously result from a break in filming or slightly dodgy "research" (it's taken me a minute to find out 775 rather than 303 is the dialling code for Golconda).

I also agree that TG needs one of those awards full stop, but his performance in 100 was extra-superb.

@ Gubegirl:

Glad you're feeling less stressed - you've definitely done the right thing for all concerned so never doubt that.

Don't know whether you can catch up with season 4 of BB so far. Even if it's on the AMC website this netbook would probably go into meltdown if I tried to watch it. I'll be on a downloading frenzy when I get back to Limeyland.

Is the flashmobbing on youtube?!

@ Velandra:

Hope all's OK - if you get a few minutes t'would be good to hear from you... ;-))

Alcatraz tomorrow for me. Nighty night, folks...

OK, Blimey, you asked for it...
Go to www.ShadowridgeJazzercise.com. Scroll down to Shawdowridge Jazzercise Facebook. Click there. Small pics pop up of our little studio. Scroll down to the "Flashmob" beneath these pics and click there. You will get the very-poor-quality (someone's phone???) video that someone's family member took of us. We did Jazz routines to a 5 minute medley of songs.

You can spot me most clearly between 1 and 1.5 minutes into it. My black-haired instructor is in a hot pink tank top out front, curbside; a little blonde woman in yellow is in front of me and I am behind the fence, (3rd row from street) next to a blonde lady dressed in a black tank top. I have almost shoulder length dark hair, am wearing sunglasses and a short-sleeved black Tee shirt, capris and dark shoes.

I cannot believe I am telling this...only you guys. My own family has not yet seen this...Leave it to Blimey to egg me on...YIKES!

Remind me to be sitting in a large cardboard box with my jazz classmate eating a Sonic dog at the next photo-shoot, 'K???

Have a good day. y'all, wherever y'all are...good most of you have vacated this here thread...:)

Hello everyone.... Hope this finds you all well. I feel like I'm having withdrawls not being able to post everyday. My hubby is doing better. Thank you everyone for asking.

Gubegirl: I'm so sorry about Stella. Even though it was hard you did the right thing. On a lighter note my hubby loved the choc. zucchini bread, he finally got his appetite back ( well kind of). I'm dying to see the vid. of you and your class flash-mobbing ( is that a word?) I tried the web address you posted but it keeps telling me page cannot be found ( maybe I'm doing something wrong?)

Blimey: how do you like San Fran? I was born there and have been back once. I like to visit but there ate way to many hills.... I hate driving there. Your socks sound incredibly interesting....

Eleven: your right twitter can become soooo assisting. I follow them all but only check MGG and TG religiously. I do love TTFT!

Well have a great night everyone!!!!

Gubegirl,
I will definitely check out that video.
Can't believe this but I've opted not to watch CM tonight, I'm actually getting a bit tired of the S5 reruns.

Teresa H. said...

Meant to put this in my last comment. But then signed off too soon.
On the subject of errors:
In "100", during that phone call between Hotch and Haley/Jack, Jack asks his Dad if "George " was a bad guy. When Foyet first spoke to Haley on the phone I do not remember what name he gave her but it was Agent something or other, no first name, I think. Then it seems to me it was only when she heard Hotch's voice it dawns on her what has happened and who he really is. Did I miss something?
There was no indication, as far as I can remember, that Haley and Jack would have known him as George.
What do you guys think or perhaps know that I don't.
On that note I will say "Goodnight" and sweet dreams. You all know what would make mine sweet.

Damn and blast!! I saw the vid, gubegirl, but probs have my spatial orientation all awry - what are you wearing in the vid?

Velandra - happy to hear your hubby's is doing better and that our gubegirl's recipe was a hit! Saw you on the other thread - i SHOULD head there as well, but i still find it difficult to post there. SF and sdwally have interesting things to say.

Blimey and Teresa - you should document the continuity/logic issues somewhere....Re awards - while he's on CM, i doubt he (or anyone else) would ever win an award. But i'm happy to have them to myself. Every time i see a tg interview, i am struck anew by just how different hotch and he are! even the tone of his voice, the modulation, the pitch! He seems to adopt a whole other body! some day (in 2040) i think i'll just tweet him to say what a marvellous actor he is (ha). That woud probs also be my first tweet to the universe in general.

For you, Teresa - http://gibsonthomas.tumblr.com/post/9301817381

Eleven: I am wearing a short sleeved black T-shirt (says "Rock on" - Jazzercise on it but you can't read that!), black capris, and dark shoes with my quite white legs showing:)

Read my prev post to place me better with the ladies around me and watch the time. I am in there much of the time but I think just after the first minute is when I am clearest.

Dukie and I are missing Stella but Bella the cat is having the time oif her life. Surprised me in the bathroom, reaching out from behind the shower curtain to have at me just like she used to as a kitten more than 2 years ago! She is a real character and says she'd give both Sergio and Blimey's Garfield-look-alike a run for their money...LOL

V: Glad your hubby liked the zucchini bread! Maybe you can offer him some strawberry Philly (a'la Blimey!) on something soon...maybe on either Cadbury or Ghiradelli...maybe that could be the beginnings of a new recipe???
Don't know what to tell you about finding the vid: did you get to the jazzercise website? I could not find it going directly to youtube. You may not have to spell out Jazzercise entirely (maybe just ShadowridgeJazz.com)

Going to head up to iron and watch CM reruns...it's been a month and I really need to get on it. The ironing, not the CM...well, that's not true, I'd like to get on a CM somebody....a-a-h-h-never mind....we won't go there:)

Eleven,
I looked at TG's twitter and I presume the photo you mentioned is the one of him, bearded on the plane. (Sometimes I have trouble following the links from here) Loved it, almost looks like he did as David in Love and Human Remains.
And OK this is the obsessive coming out in me but who do you think this Chasten H. person is? Getting on my nerves.

Eleven said...

Thanks, gubegirl! My late-night mission today.... (And i'll warn Shemar about you - just a presumption, as i'm not sure which of your two favourite CM boys you'd like to be on...at the moment.)

That is correct, Teresa. I'm happy to hear that you were actually capable of thought — me, i was thinking of stubble rash (ambrosia afeter a 7-year itch ;0)) and other things clearly not for public consumption.

Why do you say that about chasten h? Did i miss something?

Teresa H. said...

No Eleven,
As I say my obsessive side is kicking in and I actually read her twits. I really shouldn't go there

Blimey Limey said...

Morning all - currently catching up on emails, etc as the place I want to visit doesn't open until 10am and it's not far away.

Well folks, I went on the spoiler TV site (netbook can't cope with it, seizes up, gets angry, etc - but I endevoured!) and there was scoop from Ausiello:

Question: Any word about Criminal Minds exploring Reid’s headaches further this season?
Ausiello: The issue is not addressed in the first batch of episodes. What is addressed early on — by Reid himself — is his past drug abuse.

Hmmm, so will the "did he, didn't he, how much, how long for, etc?" finally be cleared up? Let's hope it's handled well. I'm sure it will be, but after most of season 6 it's natural to be slightly apprehensive.

Alcatraz was fabulous - what was really weird was ending up sat next to an English family and the mum used to live round the corner from me in the same random Kent village (we didn't know each other, btw).

@ Velandra:

Glad hubs is tucking into the yummies - hope he's feeling more chipper now? Keep us updated when you've got a few spare minutes available.

I really like San Francisco - but my feet don't! ;-)) A month away from the gym/Body Combat and I've turned into a sloth. Urgh. If I lived here and didn't own a car I'd be as fit as a butcher's dog & make MGG look fat! I love all the different coloured houses and the city centre is nice too, as are the parks.

Yeah, the driving was a bit scary - I'm just glad the soccer mom car has mean brakes, I reckon the Dodge wouldn't have been able to cope (they're going to get a serious ear chewing in Vegas when I take the soccer mom car back next week - I'm already sharpening my teeth, claws, etc...).

Bought some chemistry/atom geek socks a couple of days back - I love my bizarre socks! Yesterday's Xmas holly pair got some weird looks - they clashed in marvellous style with the turquoise Converse with pink leopard print laces.

@ Gubegirl:

Think I spotted you strutting your funky stuff! You lot are mad - in a good way, of course. I tried Zumba a couple of years ago, but dancing is not my strong point. I like Body Combat - lots of punching & releasing your inner psycho.

And the Garfield clone would have any cat in a fight, even with two paws tied behind his back. ;-))

@ Teresa:

I wonder if Foyet introduced himself off-screen to Jack and called himself George to appear less intimidating to a small (and very cute in this case) child? They repeated Faceless, Nameless on Ion last night - but as I didn't see your post until this morning I didn't know to look out for it. Hmmm - they seem to be on a season 5 repeat binge (as you said) so if F,N is repeated *again* I'll pin my ears back.

Seen the Ghiradelli place in town, might have to sample the goods when I next go past. Not that I need much encouragement to shovel in the schokolade! Unless it's Hershey's...

@ Eleven:

Am itching to find out why Hotch was sporting the geologist face fuzz - I suppose we'll find out in about four weeks?!

Right, time for one final caffeine fix and them I'm off to punish my hooves some more. Laters y'all...

gubegirl said...

Eleven, TY for the KE-OOT pic of such a cute couple! MGG is looking like his cute and playful self and AJ is looking like, "oh, he's at it again" and indulging him in his playful antics. Her beautiful blue eyes look even bluer than ever with her kevlar on.

And is the second pic a latte with the cardamom I saw mentioned a few days ago? I must try this but pls, anyone, tell me what you know!

Went to jazz this AM only to be locked out because of a poss gas leak reported last nite by the body-sculpting instructor. We had to stand around for 15 minutes to wait for the SDG&E guy to ck it out for our safety (it was fine - prob'ly fumes from the restaurant next door-we have no gas!)

It was iffy there for a few minutes when I suggested we go over to the Starbucks around the corner and flashmob again: most everyone was up for it! LOL. Don't know if they were dying to dance or dying for coffee - or both! Hah!

CMFAN11 said...

Apparently they might mention reid's drug problem btw the team before the senate hearing. According to gather.com, we have a month more 2 wait ladies. Heck yes!

It's taking for freaking ever! Ughhh

Blimey, Gubegirl - try searching for thomas gibson matthew gray gubler interview/video past 24 hours...nice little snippets, but actually an audio interview. has the Shemar call.

dunno if the latest coffee pic is the one with cardamom, but the last time there was a pic of black coffee. i've tried it w/ milk, though, and it's great. i'm also a fan of cinnamon...

Velandra said...

I can't wait to see how Reids drug use is brought in. It seems that while it was implied that while Hotch and Gideon knew nothing ever really came of it. I was disappointed when that storyline went into the blackhole of CM storylines along w/ slot of others that could have been great. I'm excited to see how it all pans out.....5 seasons later.
Am I the only one that can't find gubegirls link? Help anyone????

Hi guys,

Oh my, just realized I hadn't been around here since the 12th.

Gubegirl and Velandra:

I'm glad your hubbies are both on the mend. I hope soon things will settle down for you girls.

Blimey:

I'm glad to hear you're still making your way through the US unscathed. I'd love to be with you.

Okay, the questions, I wanted to get to them before I finished the thread and saw anybody else's thoughts.

Rossi: I bet he was caught cheating on Mrs. Rossi #1

Reid: Well, we know he reads, goes to movies, plays chess in the park and by now plays the piano. I'm wondering as a guy with three doctorates if he doesn't spend time working on papers and things for publication. That's a big thing in keeping PhDs up.

What I want to know is why does he carry that darn messenger bag around? He never takes anything out of it. I think I saw him take a notebook and pen out in Cold Comfort but that's all.

Take care gals and guy. I'll try to keep up more.

Teresa H: thanks for the help, I finally found it!

Gubegirl: Love it!!! It's absolutely fabulous!

So anyone have any thoughts as to why they're bringing up Reids drug problem after sooooo long? As a afterthought I would love for them to show what happened w/ Adam/Amanda. Did Adam ever come back or is he licked inside himself forever destined to be Amanda? Though I guess getting Jackson Rathbone to guest after his Twilight fame might be pretty pricey.

Now, just W-A-I-T a minute, Velandra, GF, you have a hubbie to be attending to...don't you even think about any such thing to our mutual BF....:) Besides, he hasn't even arrived HERE in his cardboard box yet (have put a note on the door for the UPS man, tho'!) so, if you don't play nice, I won't even forward him your way...actually, if I ever got ahold of him, I can't promise that I ever would let him get away anyway...I could get him to draw cool murals all over my house while I wallpaper my office with my Shemar covers...oh, yeah, and I will rumple his hair now and again while he eats at my kitchen counter....and bake & cook anything his little heart and skinny self desires...

Damn, can you tell it's almost bedtime? Dreaming again, but aren't we getting good at it? Actually, what's really cool is being able to share them HERE.

Thanks Jill!

Thanks for checking out the Jazz vid, guys, and your kind words. I still can't believe it's on YouTube. Promise not to tell my family - they would prob'ly freak out at the thought of it!

Love the drug storyline being dredged up again: it was never resolved to my satisfaction and who knows, maybe it ties in to the headaches? Or maybe he is suffering from TMJ like I am: this headache thing is getting really old and slows down all my work, which is mounting by the minute. Using Bailey's in some leftover coffee tonite to deal with it - how's that for an excuse? Hey, fewer calories than the mudslides...

Are you back at school, CMF11? Most everyone here is. Good luck with all your courses - knock 'em dead. Just don't write your papers about CM cases the way my son writes all his about hockey bio's - geez!

Going now to ck out the latest cutie patootie stuff about our boy.
Thanks, Eleven.

Hi, Pat! Good you're still around! Didn't we discuss the contents of the messenger bag last year or so? It's been suggested that he keeps his "abondonment" letters from both his dad and Gideon in there along with paper and postage and envelopes to write his mom daily. Prob'ly his journal, altho', I seriously doubnt he needs one but he may be OCD enuf to keep one anyhow...but is extremely lite (watch when he picks it up and swings it around - practically empty.) But wouldn't it be cool for someone at the round table to ask about it and him to empty it on the table right there in front of God and everybody? Hah! I am really getting punchy...I better sign off here...

Have a good eve'nin, y'all. Go have some Cadbury's or something else yummy, think of me, then dance it off in the AM....

XOXOX

Yeah, there was a discussion last year about what was in it and that could be right but what I'm saying is does he have to carry them everywhere with him? When he goes to do an interview for a case, does he need that bag? He's not going to be reading abandonment letters and writing to his mom at those times so why not leave it hanging on his chair?

Now, what is this receiving MGG in the mail and passing him off to Velandra. Hello, equal time. I'd even pay the shipping and handling to Canada and then I'd carry on with the "handling."

Oh look, it's dream time.

Eeeeeeeleven said...

While you Gubegirl, Velandra and Pat fight over boy wonder and CMF11 shakes his head at all those lost marbles, i have a score to settle with Teresa. Are you TRYING to kill me, woman?? Are you? The...uh...dark room scene was...just...was....

(Mr Eleven to the guinness book of world records: Hello, I just want this on record - my wife has been rendered speechless (sotto voce - yessss!!))

Teresa H. said...

Eleven,
I thought you'd like it. LOL. I want to be her leg. Also, just to finish you off, have you checked out the TG clips from Chicago Hope?
(Also on YouTube)
There's no audio but the two hot little numbers I'm thinking of need none, leaves plenty of room for your own, I'm sure you'll do them justice.

Eeeee... said...

You are eeeevil, T, eeeevil - but hey must finish me off in style, eh, at least worthy of being a CM unsub? Chicago Hope it is then, alas....(dr danny nyland - i'm heeeere!)

And where is Blimey when you need her? Her detached but no less tender love of all things CM would perhaps be able to prevent this truck of hormones from going into overdrive and off the cliff, which is clearly where it's headed.

...and somebody (the missus i hope) get tg to move from that damned window, please, so the light doesn't do all kinds of weirdly wondrous things to his face and Teresa's leg :-D (BLUSHES)

gubegirl said...

Pat: Hey, you. Go away for a few days and guess what? You snooze, you lose.

MGG is coming to me in a large cardboard box (read posts from a few days ago to see pic) after which I will be forwarding him on to Velandra.

She has her hands full at the present time and she does not mind waiting abit for her turn but now you want a turn, too?

Please be advised that altho' there will be more of him avail to go around when I finish with him, it could take awhile. First, to put some poundage on our boy. Then, of course, for me to finish with him. I know you will understand.

Good things happen to those who wait. Give me a few weeks, OK?

P.S. If Shemar arrives as well (NOT just his burrito wrapper), I may be sending MGG off sooner, but that may be too big a dream even for me...:)

LOL.

Sorry, CMF11, you must listen to us, but, hey, this kind of practical experience could pay off for you later...

@ Gubegirl:
I actually start Monday. I'm kinda excited

Y'all ladies are like great whites chumming for scraps of meat in the sea fighting over the CM men.

Lol

I've seen a pic of the team in front of the green screen for the still opening pic. I can't wait 2 c what it looks like. O and according to tv guide Emily prentiss gets to see her memorial pic w/ the rest of fallen agents and it makes her speechless.

Good Lord willing we will have a good season. I sure hope so. It seems like there will be alot continouity(excuse my spelling). I'm hoping JJ makes a good profiler abs isn't 2 rough around the edges, and I'd like 2 see prentisses scar after all her Doyle drama. Hopefully she keeps it 2 remind her of who NOT to get involved with.

Velandra said...

Gubegirl: I don't mind waiting for my 2nd hubby as long as when I get him he can still walk.... Don't be too hard on him ;) .

Pat: I'll send him your way after I'm done but I can't guarantee he will be of much use. He is just so delicious I don't think I'd be able to leave him alone even for a second. I'm sorry but you understand right? Maybe you could nurse him back b/c I can almost gaurentee that gubegirl and I will have used every last bit if energy he has.

cmf11: every woman has a reminder from a guy of why she should be more careful next time. But I can tell you all reminders are forgotten in time and we usually don't remember until history repeats itself and trust me it always does. We always think the next one will be diff. So Em will remember for a time and then it will get pushed further and further. Also i dont think she should adopt Declan he has a loving mother that hes always known. Why rip him away? Take what we say here and put it to good use. I'm prob. not much older than you, I just departed my 20's and trust me when I say you'll probably never get more honesty From women again. Use what you've learned wisely.... Lol

I can't wait until Sep. 21. I love my re runs but I can't wait to see a present day Reid on screen.... Yum. I'm more than a bit tired so I'm pretty sure I'm rambling and at this point not making much sense so w/ that I shall bid you all adieu

CMFAN11 said...

@ Velandara:

FYI: you rock! Thanks I love your openess and honesty. I'll take your word for it. And I agree that it would be selfish of her 2 take Declan( gah that name rocks) from his mother.

Also I didn't mean 2 come off as judgemental or rude so if I did sorry.

Ya gotta remember girls are very complicated and hard 2 figure out. Even for us somewhat complicated guys like me lol.

I hope your husband is doing well :)

Velandra said...

cmf11: you def. didn't come off judgmental or rude :) and my husband is feeling better each day, thank you for asking. Goodluck w/ all your classes I have a feeling we won't be hearing from you as much once school starts. Now we're going to have to go find a new token guy :( JK your irreplaceable and I'm sure you'll pop in every now and then right????

CMFAN11 said...

@ Velandara:

Of course! And thank you, I'll be dropping in 2 discuss the season premiere/promo and speculate about the rest of the season whenever I get a chance lol

Blimey Limey said...

My poor feet - I've done very little walking in the past 24 hours, but they're still not happy!

Currently in Solvang - a cute little Danish-inspired town about three hours NW of LA. It may actually be really naff and tacky - like that awful London Bridge nonsense at Lake Havasu, which is actually so bad it's borderline insulting - but as I'm not Danish (and haven't been to Denmark since 1989) I haven't got a clue. No ION on this TV, but there's CM on A&E which does me just fine as I loll here feeling uber-sick after snaffling TWO bloody massive Danish pastries. Yeah, I'm the ultimate gannet! ;-))

@ Velandra:

Hope hubs is still doing well?

I wonder why they're bringing up Reid's drug "issues" over four years later? It must be connected with something in one of the episodes, otherwise it would be a ridiculously late thing to ressurect.

@ Pat:

Not sure if I've already mentioned it, but I have a theory that the first Mrs Rossi cheated on Rossi, so since then he's had this "don't get emotionally involved, can't get hurt" approach to subsequent relationships.

Also, have they said what Mrs Rossi the First's name is? If not, she could be this "Emma" woman mentioned in an earlier episode? Hmmmm.

@ Gubegirl:

Ha! I'd love to see a scene where Reid and Morgan are pretending to scrap over the messenger bag, it gets out of hand and the mysterious contents fly all over the place. Bet he's got a big bottle of Patron in there...

@ Eleven:

Haha! All my hormones have been soaked up by tonight's gluttony, as well as 90% of the blood usually allocated to my brain. Feel as sick as a dog, so "hormonal thoughts" aren't an option.

@ CMFAN11:

I think your presence is required regularly - this thread needs diluting with testosterone at the moment!;-))

Right y'all - I'm off to psych myself up for tomorrow afternoon. Got to drive across Los Angeles on those hideous looking freeways and am absolutely bricking it!!!
Laters...

Blimey Limey said...

Haha! The direness which is "The Fight" - but two funnies so far:

1). Dispatch saying "There's a body in Presidio Park".

It wasn't me, honest! (my hotel was 30 seconds from the aforementioned park).

2). The dad and his daughter looking knackered schlepping up those hills.

My feet sympathise...

Blimey Limey said...

Oh yeah, and the drive south along the coast road was stunning...

(Shame the Welsh bloke who can't do an English accent to save his life didn't end up in Presidio Park...)

;-)))

gubegirl said...

Yeah, but that Welsh bloke was still eye candy, we knew it and so did Prentiss...;)

I would shave him first, tho'...

A jug in Reid's messenger bag? I love your idea of Morgan and he fighting over it (I still say dump it all over the Round Table) but it is WAY too lite-weight to have a bottle bigger than those little liquor ones they used to sell you on the airplane decades ago...my dad had a collection of 'em.

Sorry about your feet, Blimey, but at least you are atylin' with all those great socks, right? Hope you don't get mugged on Melrose in them...:)

Be sure and text us quick if you have any celebrity sightings!

Have a good day, y'all.

gubegirl said...

Er, that would be STYLIN' not "atylin'", Blimey Girl, but you knew that, right? TTF again.

CMFAN11 said...

Well thanks Blimey. I'll be here as much as possible that school will allow lol

I'm thinking it would be crazy 2 see Reid with a bottle in his bag. (Maybe the bottle would be in a paper bag) o the horror! Reid is way put together for all that but it would make an interesting storyline lol

Blimey Limey said...

I am officially a badass. More later... ;-))

Blimey (aka B.A.!): Did you ever answer my ? re: watching live epi's of BB of season 4 since I have watched all of the first 3 seasons? I'm kinda dying here and getting quite sick of the same CMs rerunning nite after nite...ion and A&E need to get together...often they are showing the same ones during the same wk! A-a-g-g-h-h!

Anyway, I think BB S-6 or 7 is tomorrow nite and there are 13 epis total. (I refuse to try and watch any of the first S-4 few on my 'puter - makes me too crazy) I'm sure the DVD won't be out for months! LMK what you think and I apologize if I missed your answer if you did respond earlier.

Also, I just read that BB just got the green lite absolutely for a 5th (but final) season which will contain 16 epi's. Cool, huh? I guess there was a slim chance it was a no-go or maybe just publicity? We know what that's like, those limbo situ's/games the networks like to play, huh?

CMF11: Love the idea of Reid with a bottle, whether it contains drugs or tequila, carrying it in his beater-bag and us getting to peek at what is going on with him. Finally! We need a good Reid story and we want one that shows us the END and does not leave us hanging and wondering. I am so ready for that, as are Pat and Velandra. We promise to return him long enuf to get his shoots done, but, heck, I am wondering if Palomar Airport, 3 miles from me, will allow the jet to land and takeoff from there? LOL
Not to waste a minute on the freeways here, and time with him is precious...well, you girls understand...you need to find a way to work the transport from your end...:)

On a side note, a new show that sound quite good I just read about is RINGER, with Sarah Michelle Gellar. Debuts on the CW mid-Sept and also stars Nestor Carbonell: the man with those amazing eyes, esp the eyelashes. No man should have lashes that lush! I loved him on Cane sev yrs ago altho I never watched Lost, I've heard he has quite a following. Looks like he could be the older brother of Adam Levine, but fewer tats? (That's for you, Velandra girl:)

Wondering how your hubby is doing? Mine just called to say he is ready to saw off his cast and has located all the proper equipment at work to do so. Trying to talk him into hanging on til Wed when he at least gets it changed if not put into a boot, but that seems a tall order for him now - he is at the end of his rope and this hot-hot weather is not helping much. Hey, but it's not a hurricane, right? OMG, it just occurred to me: Velandra and Teresa might be suffering some of that right now! I totally spaced but it is on it's way up to NYC and I have not cked to see if Mass is getting much of it. Cross your fingers and say a couple prayers for our GFs, guys, just in case.

That's all for now. Must get to the bottom of a few paperwork piles or else I need to overcome my fire-phobia and take a match to my desk...

Velandra said...

Blimey: you've always been a badass.
Well about to put in S4 and relax. Waiting to see how bad we'll be hit by the hurricane. As long as I have power I can watch CM :) small favors

Teresa H. said...

Thanks for thinking of us here in New England. Looks like it may not be too bad around here, mostly a lot of rain. People in W. Mass. may get hit with strong winds coming on the heels of tornados that rolled through there earlier in the Summer, that will be a hardship. The networks do like to hype these things.

gubegirl said...

Teresa: Glad it looks like Irene won't wreak as much havoc as much as it has been predicted. NE always gets lots of rain, esp in the summer, so except for strong winds, maybe it's just a good excuse to hole up with a CM dvd as Velandra said!

Pls keep us posted because CNN is now saying at this moment that "Irene has spawned tornado warnings." Hope you don't lose power - 80mph winds in NY are roaring thru there now(acc to CNN.)

Velandra said...

Guess I jinxed myself last night . "Conflicted" was just starting and then the power goes out.... go figure. Well I guess it's a good time to organize my closet or something.

Velandra said...

P.S. Jill thanks for keeping the thread open... You rock!!!!

Blimey Limey said...

Indeed she (i.e. Jill) does!!

Hope all's OK with the NE folks and Irene isn't being too vicious? An old uni friend is stranded in Boston for the next week as all flights back across the Pond have been cancelled.

Second day of surviving those freeways... I've found the best way is to drive 'em while ravenous - an empty belly sharpens my brain and makes me grumpy! I survived the 101 in that state, so the evidence is conclusive.

(yeah, you had to pry my fingers off the wheel by the time I reached Pasadena...)

Am also revelling in the resumed heat after San Francisco - sandals, no socks and the nose is grumbling about the AC again!

Back at the hotel and have picked up the CM binge on A&E - I do like a bit of CM while planning my excursions/mooching for the next day (and I can still "feel" my feet).

@ CMFAN11:

I reckon it's an almost empty bottle of Patron, that's why he can swing the bag! Going to get myself a nice big FULL bottle of the stuff duty free on Thursday.

(Urgh, where have the past five weeks gone?!)

@ Gubegirl:

Record the remaining episodes of this season's BB and catch up online before watching them - it's the only way as skipping episodes wouldn't work.

I'll be sad to see the end of BB after five seasons, but you know that'll mean it'll end on a high note. Nothing worse than flogging a dead horse by letting something go looooooong past its sell by date.

Nestor Carbonell - ooooooh yes, that man is drop-dead gorgeous. I'll now look out for Ringer, although he's make a brilliant unsub for a multi-episode arc on CM! ;-))

Laters, y'all...

gubegirl said...

Velandra and Teresa: Are you guys OK? Have you any power? Maybe no 'puter to talk to us? :(

Hope you are alright and that you will be able to join our lo-key silliness-occas-bordering-on-lunacy again really soon.

Thanks, Blimey. Dumped my Dexters and fired up the ol' DVR to catch BB. Hate to subject myself to watching any online but will hurry to attempt to do so since I find it so disdainful. Used to the large screen but more used to multi-tasking which is next to impossible to do with the small screen and lo-volume of the laptop.

Good on you, GF, for beign brave enuf to mobile around LA. I would NOT. Hell, it was nuts just getting back from OC Friday at 3 PM. Haven't you heard? Those Cali drivers are just damn CRAZY.

G'nite y'all.

Hey, NY friends - you guys all right?

Teresa H. said...

I for one got off very lightly with Irene. Only lost power for less than an hour yesterday and no flooding or trees down. Good day for reading Stephen King's The Stand. Velandra, hope you fared as well.
Thanks to all of you TZ's for your concern.

Velandra said...

I got off pretty lightly also though we lost power for 6 hours... no CM :( I have some friends that still have no power so I'm incredibly grateful. Glad you fared good as well Teresa :)

Hey guys! How's everybody doing?

To my TZ Yankee (I mean anywhere north of the mason Dixon line since I'm so far south) doing after the hurricane/earthquake? Bless yalls hearts, I hope everything is going ok and y'all are doing ok after all that mess. Btw: please send some rain my way lol. We got some yesterday but the drought has taken a big toll on our cattle and crops which are really important down here in the south. Lol

O since I've run dry on ideas as of lately about S7 of CM I'd just like 2 say it's been nice talking here and getting to know yalls cool personalities better. All y'all TZ's rock!

And it's nice that we all have a blog where we can get along so well with no arguments like other blogs and have a mutual respect for each other.

Ok that's my spill for the night.
Please tell me some ideas about S7 y'all have lol I need discussion about it lol

Have a good night everyone. I've got my second day of school tomorrow so I'll drop in as soon as I possibly can.

Behave ladies! Lol no x-rated thoughts ....cough cough (Blimey/gubegirl) lol I'm kidding. Hey I mean a guys gotta join the convo some way right? Lol

gubegirl said...

Blimey: Tried to find this season's BB on-line to no avail. Nice summaries and short vids on the AMC website but no luck watching an entire epi.

Any tips? I have printed all the summaries on the premise that maybe, just maybe, if I read them like a book, research any new characters on the website, maybe I will get enuf to comprende epi's 7-13 w/o watching?

Can you tell that there is nothing good to watch on TV for about 3 more wks: Dexter, followed by CM or thereabouts!) They are showing the one about the truckdriver dad again tonite. It's the Reid-in-the ditch-one (Cute) I think I have seen it 4 times this summer, tho'. Sigh...

CMF11: Who are you calling x-rated, buddy?! Seriously?! How many of my recipes have you tried?
I'm sure those and all my family history take up way more than the great ideas Pat, Velandra and I have for what we would do if we ever got ahold of....never mind...

G'nite, y'all.

Blimey Limey said...

Greetings!

Hope all's good with y'all, and that the NE folks & respective hubbies are still OK?

Any scoop or spoilers going on? Come on people, feed my need for scoop! ;-))

On my second to last night - 38 of 39. Where the hell has time gone? I must be getting old!

Just been watching CM on ION - they seem obsessed with season 5! Loved the bit from the episode set in Tallahassee where they're grumbling about the heat and Reid points out that it's actually the humidty not the heat. I've been coming out with the opposite dry heat type comments when people back in Limeyland have expressed horror at the triple digits (or above 40 if you do the celsius thing!) I've been enjoying for much of the last five and a bit weeks. Apparently it's cold in England - when isn't it?! - so I'm revelling in it while I can.

Back to Vegas tomorrow for my final tacky night at Caesars Palace. Been missing the place since skimming the northern suburbs a couple of weeks ago - it's an oasis of madness, but I've developed quite a soft spot for it. Going to drive back via the southern edge of Death Valley - I love that desert scenery, it's so different to where I live.

Obviously!! Ha!

Did the tacky Hollywood thing today - saw JM's star and generally mooched around. Didn't like downtown LA though, I felt very uneasy so went back to the station after ten minutes and went back to Pasadena. I've felt safe everywhere else this trip, but that brief interlude didn't sit well with me. However, the Metro is much cleaner and far more civilised than London's vile Tube (i.e. the Underground). Weird?

@ Teresa & Velandra:

Glad it wasn't has bad as you expected. Has Irene died down now?

@ Gubegirl:

Actually, the Cali drivers are pretty similar to how it's become in England over the past 5-10 years. I apply the logic that everyone's an arse on wheels (I'll teach y'all some Limey randomness once I'm back), doesn't have insurance and are about to do something incredibly stupid & dangerous. It works back across the Pond, and seems to work here too. Driving while hungry still definitely helps - although if there was a potty mouth box in the car I'd now be skint!

I'm assuming AMC will repeat BB season 4 at some point, but it's one of those shows where you really need to watch each episode in sequence. I'm used to watching stuff online/via downloaded Source back in the TV Third World! You have it to do when we're so far behind.

Nighty night, chaps & chappettes...

(Honestly, no Patron involved there)

Teresa H. said...

Hi to everyone. Blimey, your trip may be coming to an end but you definitely seem to have made the most of it. Win big in Vegas!
We have beautiful weather here in Mass. after the hurricane, crystal clear skies with cool comfortable nights.

Velandra said...

cmf11: I agree w/ gubegirl I'd say we're pretty PG13 compared to what we could be saying (though we're def. thinking it) hope classes are going well

Gubegirl: how is your hubby faring? Well I hope.

Blimey: time flies doesn't it???? If you hit big in Vegas remember your fellow TZs. :) hope you have a safe trip home and I agree ION is a bit obsessed w/ S5

Question of the day: Reid sexier in glasses or not?
I vote sexier in glasses.... Yum

CMFAN11 said...

@ velandara:

Haha true I agree def PG13. Lol and thank you.

O did everyone see the awesome promo for 7.01. I'm so excited the rest of the team is back together!

Thanks CBS! Don't screw up our season 7 or you know all too well what will happen again lol.

BTW: Doyle is in the premiere....but I think Morgan kills him. IMHO it should be prentiss taking care of him.

I just love coming here and getting along w/ everybody. It's not like main news stations websites where difference of opinion leads to name calling etc.... All of you rock BTW! As much as I love politics college has taught me that that's not something you bring up w/ people so it's nice not getting in an arguement.

People go buck wild over the Internet in some places on the web. I think life would be so much better if people just tried to understand the other persons point of view bc people would get along so much better lol

Blimey Limey said...

I'm officially a one woman wolfpack - my badassery knows no bounds! At check-in I mentioned this was night 39 of my 39 night road trip & for an extra $100 to what I'd already paid ($170) was offered a $1000 per night suite in Centurion Tower. Ooooh bloody hell folks, plush is not the word - now all I need is a tiger in the bathroom.

@ CMFAN11:

You stole my thunder! Saw the season 7 promo on CBS earlier and nearly fell over with the excitement of it all. I can't remember the exact wording, but I agree the implication is that Morgan kills Doyle. Loved the team's faces when Prentiss walks into what looks like a meeting too.

I also agree it's nice we can come on here, talk CM have a bit of banter/chat & it's all very pleasant. I*'ve seen other message boards & forums where it's been b!tch central! I avoid these.

@ Velandra:

Reid... since seeing those recent modelling pics MGG has definitely caught my eye more (poor bloke). I prefer him with shorter hair and as for glasses... hmmm, I'll have a ponder.

I'm not into gambling - so they won't be making anything out of me! Might push a couple of quarters into one of the machines tomorrow, just to say I've gambled in Vegas.

Right y'all, I'm off to wallow in the jacuzzi-bath. Am NOT looking forward to my return to the cold & dirty little island...

gubegirl said...

Oh, Blimey, poor girl, having to return to the real world!

I'm sitting here, having my oatmeal with the last few raspberries of the season ( no coffee yet - haven't walked the dog!) and listening to Talk, Talk: "It's My Life." So appropriate as I sit here to talk to you; one of the best songs of all time, in my book (dating myself abit?)

Hope your trip was all that you hoped it to be and maybe abit more. Hope you took some great photos and I would love to be able to help you scrapbook 'em! Feel like I know you after your "visit" and all the months we have spent on this blog.

Isn't it amazing, you guys, how this feels? Friends coming together every day or two, during busy lives, over a TV show that we love and won't be on again until:
3 wks from last nite! Whoo-hoo!

It came to me yesterday that I am seeing the Santana concert that very nite and I immed became bummed out. Who gets depressed at seeing Santana? OMG, I have never seen him and could hardly wait to get those tickets, never giving a thought to what nite it was! Thank God for DVR's but it won't be the same...sigh...

Plus, I won't be able to jump on here to mull it all over immed after - I prob'ly won't get home til 1:30 in the AM. Geez.

Stop your, b--chin, Vicki, and go walk your dog.

Yes, you're right, I'll do that.

Hi, V! Hi, T!

Hi, Eleven and CMF11!

Hello, Pat, wherever you are!

I guess I need to say "Hi!" to sf on the other thread:(

Hi, Jill! Hope this finds you well.

Have a safe trip home, Blimey-Girl!

Thanks for being yourselves!

XOXOX and have a wonderful day.

P.S. Since I fell in love with the Gube while early on when he was wearing glasses, I will take him either way, but he is SO very handsome recently - those modeling shoots are the ones I would be wallpapering with...at least FIRST....:)

Blimey Limey said...

Just a brief 'un...

At the airport, thoroughly miserable (although the bottle of duty free Patron should take care of that for a while!) at the prospect of returning to the dirty, cold, rain-soaked little island.

Am also bricking it about driving on the left tomorrow AND having to get used to having a clutch pedal & gearstick again - haha!

AND this place is crawling with Limeys & it sounds really weird after so long. Urgh!

You Americans have a fabulous country - never take it for granted...

CMFAN11 said...

Hey did y'all see how prentisses hair looks JUST like her very first episode. In a way it's kind of symbolic in my opinion bc she can start over w/ a new slate and no more lying to her team. Granted she had no choice obviously bc she couldn't tell them alot about her CIA career which I have a great amount of respect for her bravery in both the CIA and FBI. But the point I'm trying 2 make is that it will be a great new beginning for my favorite team. And hopefully it will end up leaving room for some redemption for prentiss and forgiveness between the team as well as growth.

Teresa H. said...

Good Sat. morning everybody. Don't know if you've seen it but there's an Ent. Weekly video interview with the whole gang. No big reveals but kinda fun. I imagine if you go to the EW website you'll be able to find it.

gubegirl said...

Thanks, Theresa! To see MGG on a skateboard tells me he's back in fine form (albeit clumsy!) and was more fun than reading the hard copy of EW that started arriving in my mailbox every week for the past 5 or 6 weeks despite my never having subscriberd: WEIRD!

Anyhoo, the magazine says in the premiere, "which picks up 3 mos. later, Emily emerges from witness protection in Paris when the BAU team find themselves HAVING TO WORK WITH DOYLE." ?&$# WTH?

It goes on to say that "it's the first of many epi's this season that exec producer Erica Messer says will "show the team is back together and how the world needs this particular group of superheroes." Ah, yes, my fellow TZ's, we def do need this "particular group", and after watching the EW vid, it would appear they know very well that this is mutual!

I tell you, they are listening...now let's see if a woman at the helm can do a better job than was the sorry season of 6.

No offense, CMF11, it just really needs FIXIN' and sometimes our gentle hands are better than you guys' bigger ones:)

Did you get home safely, Blimey? Adjusting to those 8 hours of time dif? That will take 8 days...lol.

Have a great day everyone!

CMFAN11 said...

WHAT?!?!?!

I can't believe they do that! That's like making a deal with the devil literally and figuratively lol. But it looks like that's apparently what needs 2 b done I guess.

BTW: who in the world is that red headed chick w/ the gun on the plane that looks like she is straight up IRA lol.

And why does it look like JJ is the girl tied up and gagged in the chair?

O my lord this is going to be a great and epic season.

God bless Erica messer!

She'll do AWESOME heading the show.

CMFAN11 said...

Do you think they will show Emily's scar?

That would be interesting if they did.

But w/ that low-cut top she's wearing at the senate hearing I haven't seen it.

It'd be nice if they did end up remembering the small things and details of the episodes.

Blimey Limey said...

Yeah, I'm now back at Limey Mansions and debating putting on the heating. At least it's not raining today though. I want those triple digit temperatures back!

The cat finally forgave me, after six hours of the feline equivalent of the Hotch stare being aimed in my direction at every possible opportunity.

Seem to be OK with the time difference as I make myself stay awake until midnight, although I seem to have forgotten how to drive a manual car! Keep going round roundabouts in 5th/6th gear (you need to be doing at least 40mph for the car to "accept" this) rather than 2nd/3rd and forgetting to putting my foot on the clutch when braking to a halt - which stalls the car.

Finally, my "went swimmingly well" jaunt had to have a glitch - the first train from Manchester Airport to Crewe was on time but the second train from Crewe down to Chateau Parents was cancelled, as was the piddly local stop-at-every-station service, so two train loads of people had to pile onto the next train - which arrived nearly 30 minutes late AND we were rammed in like sardines. Told you Limey trains are the pits!

Good interview from EW (it let me play it, unlike the CBS ones which seem to sniff out my location). Definitely looking forward to season 7 - if they deliver what they say they're going to deliver it's going to be fab! All we need now is a guest star appearance from Sergio and it'll be perfect.

AND... my upgraded broadband seems to have stablised at a decent level while I've been away, so I can now be my own Source for various goodies starting this month. Thursday nights will be CM download nights for me!

@ Gubegirl:

Weird about you receiving EW - however, use it to our advantage and share any good scoop you glean from it! ;-)) Remember, when it comes to TV I'm now back in the Third World, so need all the scoop I can get.

@ CMFAN11:

At some point it would be interesting if they showed Prentiss' scar and the emotional impact being "branded" surely must have had on her.

I'd like to see her and Hotch have a conversation about it, as he also has the scars to remind him of the Reaper. It would be good to see them open up to each other, as we'd get an insight into how it's really affected them. Maybe it would pave the way for Hotch to actually express his grief/guilt over what happened to Haley?

Right folks, I'm off to do more washing & tidying AND sort stuff out for work tomorrow. Vile, vile, vile...

Goodmorning all 7.1 just weeks away! I'm counting the days. I went to the Duetsche Bank Champ. yesterday to watch Rickie Fowler golf ( though a bit young he is incredibly handsome) let's just say I've never been to a golf tourtament before and wore the wrong shied. My poor feet are covered in blisters making it a bit hard to walk( though well worth it). Just wanted to check in and get the scoop. Have a great day!

gubegirl said...

Uh-oh, the other thread is already being affected ("infected?") with talk of RN, unfairness, etc. I hope that others can share the enthusiasm for the upcoming season and move past all the previous unpleasantness.

ITMW, me thinnin' I shall stay put, right here, in our hidey hole. Just call me CS, but I really do abhor all the fighting and haggling that sometimes rears its ugly head. I'll bet if we were all in a room together, people would not speak that way to each other so I must steer clear of all the rudeness that sometimes permeates a blog with people so-called speaking their minds. It's as tho' all manners, let alone and kindness or decency fly right out the window!

Have a great day, everyone, I'm headed to the kitchen to frost the son-in-law's b'day cake and prepare the marinades. Cherry one on pork chops?! Let you know if it's good!

@ Blimey

I'm all for that. The first episode seems like it is full of emotionally poetic moments.

Like prentiss reciting the FBI oath to regain her standing in the organization. I hope she kicks that IRA womens ass as well as that other bad guy and they save Declan.

I hope w/ such a tall order in the episode and so much in the premiere that it's all woven together seemlessly.

O Blimey since your in Europe. I have a question lol. Does the IRA really recruit female operatives? I'm just curious bc on tv it's often portrayed as it does and I was just curious lol. I hope yalls intelligence officials can put an end 2 their madness soon. There's no reason to do that to other human beings.

@ Gubegirl:

They brought up RN?! Again? Talk about beating a dead horse to death. It'd be great if we could just forget about that terrible stain on CM history for freaking good. Especially bc I have faith in S7, and am very positive about it.

On a more positive note don't y'all think that after everything that happened in S6 in a way it gave CM new life and a fresh start to go on and kick off S7? I sure do.

Lastly, I read online where the idea was brought up to make prentiss a lesbian. But nothing ever came of it. No offense to anyone but like hotch I just couldn't see her like that. What is yalls opinion fellow TZ's?

gubegirl said...

Fellow TZ's: Hope this isn't too late, but just realized A&E is running a CM marathon this afternoon/eve, starting with a 2005 epi thru 2009! Get to see ol' Gideon again, see, Reid with his weird-hair-tucked-behind-the-ears and -! Glad our guys have evolved and are so much more handsome now altho' I liked Hotch's in the first season when his was abit longer and softer: makes him look more youthful.

They are advertising that all day Labor Day (tomorrow) the marathon continues so hope we get to see some OLD epi's, not more of season 5...UGH! Have maxed out on those and don't care to see anything past season 4.

CMF11: no way do I see Prentiss as gay. She maybe hasn't been dating much since she joined the BAU but she def likes men:) Just hasn't chosen the right one yet and is taking her time because of it, throwing herself into her work, maybe trying to forget Doyle and that whole miserable mess?

The epi from 2005 showing now: Reid has confided about his nightmares to Morgan and Morgan is revealing how his started 6 months after starting in the BAU. Love scenes like this - the reason I LOVE CM! Oh, yeah, our "family..."

The meats are marinading, the butterhorns are rising and the cake is frosted. I have iced a coffee and am kicking back for a CM FIX!

Blimey,
Sorry to read about the glitches in your travels at the end but I'm glad you made it home safely. Hope you can hold onto the good memories for quite a while, they're always worth a visit.
gubegirl,
what a good mother in law you are!!
Hope everyone else is well and enjoying the long weekend.

hello everyone! i am in Limeyland. And at work. Busy busy busy and tired out of my mind. Saw the new thread - read something about RN and ethics and such like. My poor little brain can't take any of that. Hope you're all doing well. Velandra dear, how is your hubs?

I like Prentiss's new/old do. She looks adorable in the pic with hotch as i said before. very unprentiss-like attire, too.

i'm wearing epically unsuitable shoes for walking, eh. Wish me luck. Trainers tomorrow no matter how hideous they might look with whatevs i wear.

'Mornin', Folks... I have taken to cking the other blog for any "tidbits", spoilers, etc. and see now another discussion re: EM's "ethics." WTH? I think I will continue to stay here and visit and maybe not even read the other in that the convo there depresses me. Yeah, CMF11, they are beating a dead horse and then some, and just being negative. I think I will let sf go there to do battle on our behalf because I am so over it...S6 was dismal, yes, but they have done so many things right since, I want to think positive and look forward, not backward, nor over my shoulder, which many bloggers cause me to do. There's some comfort in sticking around those who know you and are not ready to POUNCE everytime you say a word; ready to do battle at a moment's notice; I dislike this kind of activity, not to mention that it totally takes the fun out of this and that's what this blog is for: FUN! Sharing/discussing something we all love with others with sim taste/values, whatever.

Yeah, whatever. I'm a stickin' here.

Thanks, T, the meal was a hit and the cake's fudge frosting is YUM. I should have sent it home with my daughter and son-in-law...it is calling to me, like, NOW:)

T: do you think that it is our old cohort, UKViewer kicking up some sand over there?

Blimey: What do you think, GF? Can you even think yet? Are you at work today, truly laboring, whilst we, on this side of the pond, laze around over here?! (Don't think it is a holiday there but I could be wrong.) I hope you haven't put yourself out, baking anything for the "gannets"...at this point, they should have baked something for YOU in your absence to surprise you and welcome you home. Something like a butter-yellow cake with fudge frosting to go with your morning cuppa...Just a thought...better your thighs than mine:)

gubegirl said...

Sorry, Eleven, I meant to greet you. Have sev. pair of runners, some dressier than others, that I am willing to loan; my black jazzercise Mary-janes may look nice with any business attire you may need to wear...just LMK:)

Glad you are cking in; just stick down "under" here GF, and you'll be safe. Don't get entangled with the RF's, 'member, stick with the TZ's.

I guess you guys ARE working over there while we lolly-gag over here (another of my mom's fave sayings -anyone ever hear it?)

@ Velandra & Gubegirl:

How are the hubbies? Doing well, I hope.

@ Eleven:

So am I - haha! Hope you've brought your thermals and a big thick coat. 15c (59f) with howling wind and torrential rain in my neck of the woods today. I am DYING in this desolate frozen wasteland, despite relenting and putting on the heating. I need a one way ticket back to sunny Vegas; where I can thaw out, marry a millionaire and move into a Caesars Palace penthouse.

As for the trainers, don't worry. Google image the word "chav" - our streets are heaving with the rioting gits, so you always look civilised whatever you wear when they're around.

@ Gubegirl:

You're making me hungry! Do you need a lodger?! I'll work for good food and an hour off each day to bask in that sweet Californian sun. A week ago seems so long ago!

AND you're making me jealous with reference to CM marathons on TV. At least I had CSI Sunday on 5USA last night (they show five or six back-to-back CSI episodes) which sufficed. Just.

AND I'm missing Hillbilly HandFishin'!

@ CMFAN11:

I don't know that much about the IRA, I remember hearing about them on the news when I was a kid as that's when they seemed to do a lot of bombings. Obviously there was the Manchester bombing in June 1996 which made the city centre a no-go zone for months until they rebuilt it (we used to go to Stockport instead). They bombed Warrington in 1993 - my uncle, aunty and two cousins were going to go that day but changed their minds at the last minute and didn't think to mention it to my granny! She was going mad until my uncle heard about the bombing and thought to phone her.

As for female operatives, I'm not sure. Maybe behind the scenes? **Googles "female IRA"** Yeah, some stuff comes up. I assume .com gives the same results as .co.uk ??

Totally agree about what you say about it needing to be stopped. Who cares which religion people do/don't follow? As long as they're decent folks it's not an issue for me.

Laters y'all...

Crossed posts!

Unfortunately no holiday here - nose firmly back at the grindstone and too cold to even think properly.

The gannets have been demanding food, so I'll make butter shortbread cookies later. You can't call these biscuits as they're large, got mini M&Ms (can't get them here) in them and the surface cracks as they're cooking. In the UK a biscuit is something small & plain like a graham cracker and a cookie is a big chunky "biccie" with stuff in it.

And "butter-yellow cake with fudge frosting" sounds delicious. Is yellow cake what we'd call a plain sponge cake (i.e. chocolate cake minus the cocoa)? Recipe please when you've time! ;-))

Cookie recipe:

Sorry folks - grams, but I'll convert to oz. Never made it in cups.

* 550g (20oz) self-raising flour.
* 400g (14oz) salted butter (soften for ~20 seconds in microwave).
* 200g (7oz) caster (fine white) sugar.
* 350g (12oz) choc chips/chunks or mini M&Ms or similar.

* Mix together until "doughy".
* Break off pieces and roll them into balls ~1 inch in diameter.
* Flatten them between your palms.
* Arrange on baking trays.
* Cook for 15-17 minutes at 180c (~350f) until they just start to look a bit more golden.
* Keep a close eye on them if you need to go past 15 minutes though!

You'll end up with loads, so feel free to halve the quantities. However, I have noisy gannets to pacify!

@ blimey:

Thanks I did end up finding some stuff on google lol. Apparently they do recruit women.

Which made for an amazing prentiss storlyine although she was a CIA operative posing as a weapons dealer, and a damn good CIA operative at that.

Also blimey & gubegirl y'all freaking rock! thanks for the recipes I'll need 2 jot them all down.

So I just got a spanish tutor that I'm meeting today. Yall wish me luck. I've got 2 more years of taking spanish, then once I get 2 grad school I'm thinking russianor chinese. Then hopefully french & italian at some point.

God willing.

Have a nice day everyone!

16 MORE DAYS!!!!! AHHHHHHH IT'S TOOOOOO LOOONNNGGGG TO WAAAIITTT!!!

YAY for prentiss and JJ being back!
and a pretty awesome looking premiere.

How dare they question EM's ethics?! I have full faith in her ability since she's been there since day 1!

gubegirl said...

Blimey:

Poor girl, sorry you are having to work today. (You, too, Eleven.) I am "busy" filing my recipes, doing laundry and enjoying the CM marathon. And trying to stay away from the kitchen where the cake is:)

BL: re: recipe: I think the dif between the "butter yellow" recipe is that there is 1/2 cup of butter (more than some) and 6 egg yokes instead of 3 eggs. All else standard, I think.

The fudge frosting can be made with just 1/2 cup of cocoa powder added to any butter icing recipe (decrease by 1/2 cup of powdered/confectioner's sugar)
OR to go all out, use 1/4 cup of cocoa powder and add 1 cup of semi-sweet choc chips, slightly melted.

Bet you can't lick just ONE beater...:) Sigh...

Yeah, CMF11, we can't wait to hear about how you blow your GF away with your "home cookin'." LOL.

Currently enjoying "Zoe's Reprise" from '09. The one where the unsub is a copycat killer and the young female student picking up on it & talking to Rossi about it, then going to the scene, gets killed.

Prentiss is looking beautiful with bangs. She has such a great head of hair, I think she can wear it with or without and look gorgeous. Yeah, CMF11, that's for you buddy, you needed a little break from your studies, right?

Later, y'all.

Lovely London weather today, Blimey! I was in trainers on my way to work. I can assure you they looked ridiculous with my fitted black dress and black jacket, but I think nobody gave a rat's posterior considering that it was torrential almost. Thanks, Gubegirl, for the offer - mary janes here I come. My poor umbrella's looking like batman 'bout to take off. Plus, my hair...oh my hair...oh my god.

Theresa - I've only been here once before and I loved it. Too much work at the moment, but closer to the weekend it promises to get interesting. Friday - jazz bar; Saturday - shopping, the mousetrap (I had to, come on, it's in its 59th year!), japanese food; Sunday - a little tour of windsor castle, eton and oxford. And did I mention the obscene amount of wine I am consuming?

What's this about flip flops and tg? Haven't seen his twitter in what seems like centuries. What's occurring there? Keep me posted.

Yes, it was ukv with the ethics comment.

Maybe ( as Blumey puts it) these goodies will put a little junk on our trunks.... Lol. The little guy is the only one eating good these days( he loves anything/everything)

Gubegirl: I know what you mean, I don't even visit the other thread anymore. Too much negativity. I'm much more looking forward to what seems to be shaping up to be a great new season. Hope your hubby is doing better.

Blimey: hillbilly handfishin is my secret guilty pleasure (shhh don't tell anyone) I just can't get enough. Hope you enjoyed your visit.

Ok so I just read online where S6 DVD has a ton of extra features, especially on Lauren and Valhalla.

Also according to gather hotches decision to lie 2 the team in order 2 save prentiss will ripple throughout the season. For better or worse he made the best decision he could under very hard circumstances and it'll be cool 2 see how it works into S7.

@ Velandara:

That's great! I'm glad he's doing good.

Well I gotta go 2 class so I'll be back later TZ's.
Have a great day guys!

Anymore spoilers/ info I can find I'll make sure 2 let y'all kno. Lol

gubegirl said...

Velandra: Glad to hear your hubby is doing better...just keep experimenting with the diet to see if anything nourishing appeals to him...like maybe eggs burritos? My friend who was on chemo preferred Taco Bell and Starbucks when she had an appetite at all, but I could get her to eat scrambled eggs cooked with onions, bell peppers, add grated cheddar and wrapped in a homemade flour tortilla. She would pick it apart, tho, and when I told her she did not have to eat it if she wasn't up to it, she looked up at me and smiled and said she was after the "perfect bite." She meant a little of every item in the burrito: a perfect bite. I will never forget it, it was a heart-warming moment.

CMF11: Good you are OK, hope your extended fam all OK, too, are they in TX, too?

Getting excited for S7 and ready to find a home for my Santana tix since my hubby, who is doing better with cast off BTW, TY, but will still be on crutches with a very swollen leg and can't do

Damn. Any ideas?

This is for fun CM discussion and talking about next season which will rock! Lol

CMFAN11 said...

Here are some things 2 look for in S7!

1.Prentiss' BAU resurrection will be "a pivotal part" of the changes coming this season, and will not be glossed over. "This event has changed all of our characters' lives," and we'll see how.

2.Ian Doyle will be back, briefly: "We see a wee bit of Ian Doyle [in Season 7]."

3.In Season 7, CM will "explore our heroes a little bit more" than the bad guys.

4.Morgan tracks down Prentiss' killer. "Morgan made it his life journey to get redemption for his friend," Shemar Moore said. "No matter what, he wasn't going to let [Doyle] be out there in the world."

5.Morgan and Hotch's relationship will be strained. Thomas Gibson: "I think the theme of broken trust within a family will have a chance to play in various ways and various times this season."

6.Hotch, at one point, will be seen out of the country, bearded, in Pakistan.

7.J.J. has been promoted to a profiler, and has been back 3.5 months!

8.Garcia will now "introduce" the cases.

9.Reid will have family problems.

10.Rossi's first ex-wife could "linger."

Velandra,
No wonder CMFAN is confused. We must each have been posting our comments at the same time.

CMFAN11 said...

Bahahaha omg that's prolly why I did get confused. Y'all really do post at the same time.

Like they say great minds think alike.

So what are yalls opinions on the JJ centric episode and also the 10 things to know about season 7? I want some discussion going bc I love hearing yalls ideas.

Also why in the world would hotch be in Pakistan of all places?

And I think JJ has proven herself more than capable of being a media liaison/profiler/ case presenter & picker. As much as I love Garcia, JJ can handle all the gory stuff as well as juggle other duties. Especially after working with the big dogs at the state department.

Oh I almost forgot. One thing I would really like 2 see in an episode is prentiss speaking different languages in the same episode.

For example,

Spanish at the beginning

Arabic in the middle of the episode

And Italian or French at the end.

I have no earthly idea how this could come together. But it would make a pretty awesome episode don't ya think TZ's? Lol

I am so thrilled that the new season begins in two weeks. Today was an absolutely horrible day. My cat, Windsor, whom I have had for more than fourteen years and was eighteen years old died in my arms this afternoon. I am so despondant and the only thing keeping me in spirits is my twittering which shows me great pictures of Tom and the gang, watching CM on CBS and now on ION tv and reading the blogs. Keep up your great words and be happy.

Do any of you guys talk to Jill? I tend to take a hands off approach when it comes to the internet and peoople's personal lives, but I know she's been battling cancer and I was wondering if she's okay. She never tweets anything anymore and rarely ever updates this blog. Is she just hopefully too busy enjoying life to be bothered with the internet? I hope so.

gubegirl said...

christyz: So sorry to hear about your beloved Windsor kitty. You may remember, we lost our sweet Welsh terrier at the end of June and I am still sad. When I look at the futon that Jazzy used to lie on in the guest room, I can suddenly break into tears that continue to take me by surprise.

I put pictures of her on a magnetic display from Creative Memories (pics can be swapped out and new display made in minutes) and that way the family can remember our great times with her and what a super dog she was. Distract yourself with as many CM reruns and spoilers as you can and know that we are less than 2 wks away from the beginning of a fabulous new season; it doesn't take the place of Windsor but gives you something to look forward to:)

sf: We continue to greet, thank and inquire about Jill often but have heard nothing in some time. I do not tweet so I cannot vouch for that. This is the only blog I participate on and I think it's mainly this very thread that so many of us faithful fans/"true zealots" have taken to sharing on because much has taken place in the months we have written and hung out here. I feel like these people are my "pen pals" and come here to visit rather than to share such things as illness, injuries, pets, deaths and on a lighter note, Blimey's US trip and our recipes(!) on the newer thread.

There I will comment only on the titled topic and not open up to all the "strangers" who also lurk there amidst the serious fans such as yourself. We would love you to come visit us and we do, back here in our "hidey hole" (phrase coined by Teresa H.) which Jill has been kind enuf to allow to leave open. We esp love your spoilers: I always look at them because I do not have the time or the tech-savvy to find them otherwise! I'm more of a hard copy person:)

As CMFan11 mentioned the other day, we enjoy your juicy tidbits but love being here where we can be ourselves and not subject ourselves to the wrath of some of the crazies out there ("nutters" as Blimey calls 'em!) so pls, cont to come here and report/check in, along with the rest of us!

Jill, if you are reading this, would you please us know how you are doing? We, here on this thread, feel we are your friends and want you to know that we CARE.

Have a great day, y'all. I am so done with re-heating this mug of coffee and MUST get my shower and get on with it! Hope it is a little cooler here today than the past 2 with my thermometer set at 84 degrees and the A/C still coming on! Geez, we are not used to such heat and humidity. CMF11, T & V: try not to smack me thru your 'puters...! Call me WIMPY!

So I wonder who will say the first quote of S7 of CM.

I think JJ should do it first, and emily do it last.

That way her return will correlate w/ her departure and be woven into the episode well

BTW: Seriously no discussion/ideas about the JJ centric episode or any of my other ideas? LOL I'm just kiddding. I bet yall are worn out w/ speculation of S7. Honestly I kind of am as well so it's all good TZ's

Have a great weekend everyone!

syd: Good to have you back, GF! Just FYI, we hae a male in our midst, that would be CMFan11 (posted just under yours) and he is a student at university in Texas. He has become "one of us" or a "True Zealot" (TZ) these days so you must include him in your greetings - hah!

We are hanging here for reasons you will understand if you read (even skim) some of the above posts.

I read the current thread's posts but don't talk much there to avoid battles. Actually, I just went back and re-read my post of a day or two ago about about the upcoming season, JJ as a profiler, etc. and am laughing at my making a typo in one, saying "mump" instead of "jump" on her "badassery" in the vid that sf told us about.

CMF11: I like your idea about the quotes and also the linguistics (altho' I think we need to call upon Meryl Streep to speak all the languages you mention-hah!) I don't believe you've addressed my comment about Prentiss' hair? or what do you think about JJ being less "motherly" and more tuff than most us care to see?

Just wondering...

We were in the dark here for about 6-7 hours late yesterday, over a million of us due to a worker's boo-boo at a plant in AZ. No TV - no nada! WOW! Very weird but thought about all the hurricane and tropical storm victims and had to say a little prayer for them. For the first hour or so, there was talk that the power outage was a result of terrorist activity. Partly due to 9/11 upcoming and partly due to our huge Camp Pendleton here, where my son-in-law is stationed. A scary thought at the least.

Pls. say a little prayer for everyone for a safe Sunday, 9/11, because we would like to think that terrorist activity is now being prevented in this country we call home... someday:)

Later, y'all.

@ Gubegirl:

Yes I agree prentiss can pretty much wear any hairdo.

Also I think JJ is very complex, although it's not as daunting of complexity of that of prentiss. It still shows thru in between moments of her caring motherly ways w/ her team/family I think there's alot more layers of JJ to unravel. After all I don't think we know enough about her past, I'd also like 2 kno about what exact work she did for the state department since there could be a very interesting episode storyline.

I think it would be a cool dynamic if she was more rough around the edges, but JJ was already a tough cookie. I'm guessing they'll keep her core character traits since that's why we loved her so much in the first place. Also I can't see the writers taking any chances w/ another mistaken season in fear of the backlash.

Overall I'm just trying 2 stay positive about it all.

O I'll be praying for any of you northerners this weekend. If any of you are in NYC/DC areas please be vigilant as well.

O although I'm from East TX I would just like 2 say that when the moments of sadness come this weekend try and remember this......

The people who passed away on 9/11 truly showed us that no matter our religion, political affiliation, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation or economic standing in times of great need we as American people can unite and help our fellow man. The brave acts of these people are very inspiring to me. The sacrifices they made for our country were impossible decisions to make, but they did it anyway. Although I'm just a southern guy from East Texas and was very young during 9/11 I just thought it would be nice 2 give y'all something positive to think about if it gets to hard 2 deal with.

BTW: In no way am I saying that y'all aren't already aware of these things or anything like that. I just wanted to take the time to say some kind uplifting words if they could possibly give someone a moment of peace during this weekend.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Just a few more weeks and we can finally quit foaming at the mouth over S7 lol and y'all ladies can see TG,MGG, and SH.

Lol later guys be back later!

Ps: Gubegirl thanks for remembering me. After all, this blog would not be complete w/o yalls favorite southern Texan college student lol.

Lastly, where did Blimey dissappear 2? Lol

And Teresa and velandara, please drop in more often if possible. Lol we miss y'all

Greetings, y'all...

Not had time to think this week - work is really getting in the way of sleep, socialising, catching up on the TV I recorded while away and sorting out my house (which hasn't been such a disorganised hovel since I moved in eight years ago). I need a week off to get everything as it should be! ;-))

I've got to go out again in an hour or so, so I'll be back properly later...

Hi Syd,
Great to have you back.
Blimey,
Hope this weekend gives you a chance to catch up, on the house organizing and more importantly on the TV watching.
Got to watch 3 hours of CM last night, good ones from S1 ending with that very intense one about the couple on death row. They were such good actors. Was struck again by Hotch's advice to Elle not let the job eat her up. Yeah, well we all know how that worked for him.

That was me, forgot to put my name in.

Sorry for th somber paragraphs guys. I'm usually waaaayy more positive lol. I'll try and stay on the topic of CM from now on, as well as more lighthearted subjects.

@ Gubegirl:

Do you agree w/ my analysis of JJ? As well as an episode of some details about her work at the state department.

It's cool syd. Good 2 have ya here BTW

Ok so according to an inteview w/ TG with TVguide

Erica Messer did not back down from any consequences the team will face for their actions w/ the Doyle case. (which will make an cool challenge for the team)

Unfourtanetly Rachel Nichols might return for one episode. Because there is some story 2 tell w/ her unique background. I really hope she is never a regular again. I only want the core 7 in S7.

Listen up for this one ladies, TG will be happy and joke more often with the team. While also juggling some of strauss's duties.

Also the team handling prentisses return to the team will be a bit dragged out. But hopefully in a timely and reasonable manner.

CMFan11: Yes, you are right about JJ, and I am very curious to know exactly what she did for the state dept, how she liked it, why she decided to return and more about her mysterious past (sister committing suicide, playing soccer in a small town in order to go away to college, etc.) I knew you would like Prentiss' look (hair.) the only "do" I really did not like was that weird one with the longish side bangs that looked kinda awkward, IMO. Maybe that was when she was growing them out? PB is quite beautiful, esp her coloring and flawless complexion.

'Course AJ is no chopped liver, having great hair and those gorgeous baby-blues. 'Member when that sicko un-sub who was doing the taxidermy stuff remarked about her great eyes? UGH - what a creep!

Also, CMF11, TY for the nice tribute/memoriam you wrote about 9/11. Let not one of us take our freedom lightly. For all its screw-ups and failings, it's still the best: ask Blimey!

Blimey: hope you are getting the Limey Manse back in order in plenty of time to relax, make those margaritas from your treasure of Patron and enjoy S-7, like SOON! How is Cat doing? Do we know the animal's name?

Did I mention that Stella is back? My son got the phone call that they were ready to put her down (no one adopted her at the pound) and he has once again, "rescued" her. This time she is living outside and is his responsibility. But I am the one home most of the time (I get to work from home) and that sad face at the door wanting in is pathetic and as you know, I am such a softie. But I am trying to stand my ground as he searches for a home for her in the next 12 days.

Teresa: We have been together too long, GF; as soon as I read your post under Anonymous I knew it was you! Then, I had to laugh as you felt you needed to tell us it was you. How about you, BL, V and
CMF11? Didn't you know that was our T writing that post?

T, I watched the same CM reruns as you last nite, working hard on my lagging recipe organization (20 years is a helluva long time to collect recipes!)

And shortly, 3 more OLD epis starting with "Profiler, Profiled" will show on A&E, starting here at 5 PST. I love that epi, it's when I fell in love with Morgan and saw him as much more than just a hunca-munca:) Still hoping he will come kickin' down my door...someday...:)

Cooler today, like not even 70 when M-W this week were in the
90's. Weird weather but cool is good. More energy, you know?

Where is Pat? Long time no here (or hear!), lady, give us your 2 cents!

You, too, Eleven! R U home yet or still waiting on my Mary-Janes over there in the wetlands?!

Enuf, must get back to work. My office looks worse that the Limey Manse does (or did when she moved in 8 yrs ago...LOL)

OMG, they are playing "Chains of Love..." by Erasure, the Brit band, late 80's...I am such an
80's freak. Sorry, I know that I am old enuf to be some of you's mama..how's that for TX English, CMF11? Try to ignore the age thing...My brain is on music and keeps me youthful...:)

Wish we would hear from Jill. TY! for letting us be ourselves here.

Good morning all (well, it's afternoon here). Hope everyone's OK and safe today, I'm currently watching the 9/11 memorial service live on BBC2 - can't believe a decade has passed.

It's one of those events where you remember exactly where you were when you heard. I was driving into town after work and heard something on the radio, thought "Nah, must be some sort of mix up" then walked into the shopping centre and past a TV shop - which had all its display sets showing BBC news. Hundreds of people were stood round watching the images (there was no sound) - our mouths were literally hanging open, nobody could speak.

On a personal level, I was also really sad because NY was my first visit to US soil and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Apart from a grumpy cabbie everyone was so friendly and helpful amidst the madness and sensory overload! I also regret not going up the Towers - it was either that or a bus tour and as we were pushed for time we said "Do the bus tour this time, Towers next time". So whenever next time is I shall visit Ground Zero and pay my respects. My cousin drew & framed a NY skyline for me two years later and I insisted she put the Towers on - it would have been disrespectful to leave them off, and that'll always be "my" skyline.

Hope everyone (i.e. the whole country) stays safe this weekend. Judging by my facebook homepage there's a lot of Limeys sending kind thoughts across the Pond.

@ CMFAN11:

I heard about the Texan fires - glad you're OK. Have they died out yet? Can't imagine what it must be like to lose your home to fire. I don't know if it applies to Texans, but we have a saying - "An Englishman's home is his castle". It also applies to the female of the Limey species!

@ Gubegirl:

I also read about the power cuts down your neck of the woods, glad you've got the leccy back on now. These Arizona types, eh?! ;-))

Ta for the recipe - the gannets have demanded an EC for next week, so I'll try out the yellow sponge on them next time after that.

@ Teresa H:

I find large/capital European cities seem to fall into one of two catagories.
1). Mostly clean and friendly (e.g. Munich, Zurich, Copenhagen).
2). The opposite (e.g. London, Paris, Milan).
There's plenty of other places in the UK which are just as nasty as London, but on a smaller scale! ;-))

@ Eleven:

Haha! Now you know why I'm always whinging about the weather! This weekend hasn't been too bad, but last week was vile. Cold, wet, windy... my hair (which loves Nevada, etc - but not San Francisco!) was not happy & neither was I. I've had the heating on, winter pyjamas... I want to emigrate to Badwater Basin!

Hope you're enjoying your time in the Smoke (as it's known) - I did used to enjoy the occasional blast of retail therapy there during my teenage years, as pre-internet shopping days you had to go to the big cities if you wanted loads of choice. Winsdor Castle is nice, there's also a fab castle called Bodium near the south coast in Sussex if ever any of you folks are ever in the area. There's a lot of castles in the SE, they apparently wanted to keep the French out! ;-))

@ Syd:
Bonjour et je suis desole - c'est un... erm... joke!

@ Jill:

Hope you're well - cheers for the thread (containing the nutters?!).

Anyway, I've done the garden and the washing, just got house tidying & cleaning to do, then an EC to make. I'll try to get back later for the CM stuff.

Be safe... x x

10 more days ladies......

Could this wait go ANY slower ugh.

September 21st can't get here fast enough.

@ Blimey:

They are somewhat contained. The wind from the hurricane on the gulf brought us some winds that fueled those terrible flames. Last week in my hometown a bunch of farmers land burned which took away alot of cattles grass. Which is not good bc cattle are very important to our state economy. I'm wondering if it'll ever rain in TX again at this point bc we desperately need it. Even tanks are drying up and cattle aren't able to consume as much water as they usually do this time of year. And when they do get water they drink themselves to death. I hope it rains for weeks non-stop very very soon. And yes the saying applies for Texas as well. Lol

Hope everyone had a peaceful and healing weekend. Watching some of the events on TV I was struck by how beautiful that water feature in the footpint of one of the towers looks. Visiting there will be on my agenda on my next trip to NYC. I did visit some years ago when they were still in the preparation stages.
gubegirl,
not sure to be happy or scared that you can recognise my paltry contributions to this conversation even without my name. LOL
You seem like a very kind person so I'll take it positively.
We're into the single digits on our wait now. Please let it all be worth it. I do know the fun I've had here definetly has been.
AND.....I believe I'm at the top of the new page
