CRIMINAL MINDS: SEASON THREE....HOW DO YOU LIKE IT SO FAR?

Criminal Minds: Season Three of Criminal Minds...what do you think of it so far? Are you happy with what you have seen so far? Do you like the new Criminal Minds format?

I think the season is off to a really good start. I didn't love the first two but I was impressed with this last one.

It is weird not to have Gideon around.

I do not care for knowing who the unsub is in the very beginning of the episode. Other than that it is better than I expected.

Hated Doubt but the others have been good. I like just having six and wish Mantegna wasn't coming.

I love how they are adding layers of character development to our characters. I loved Children of the Dark. I hope they are all this great.

I don't miss Gideon but I don't want Rossi either.

I've been disappointed but I am still loyal to the show. I think the episode lack the normal suspense we have been spoiled with.

Not happy that we are adding a new character either. We have characters like Garcia and JJ that hardly get used in episodes now and when the new Golden Boy arrives they will be regulated again to the cheap seats. That sucks.

I love having just the six members of the team, and I'm really becoming a big Prentiss fan, and I love that the main characters are having personal issues instead of just working the crimes.

I don't miss Gideon at all, and I wish we weren't getting someone new.

I still think we don't get nearly enough for JJ to do, but other than that, I'm liking the season so far.

Lets have more of the cast we already love and not add to it. I know it is too late because he is already filming episodes but I think it was a huge mistake hiring him.

Tessa- that ship has sailed honey. They have probably already filmed several episodes with him.

What I am not going to like at all is when he gets top billing in the credits. That is going to royally piss me the hell off. He is probably a good actor but so what.

I have really liked the episodes so far. I like the way they disposed of Gideon and moved on. They have a beat going now and it is cool with me. The writing has been amazing. Paget has been the biggest surprise to me. She really has it going on this season.

We need to give JM a chance. We have already lost MP and if TG leaves at the end of the season then we will be needing him around.

I am thrilled with the season so far. I have loved every episode so far and I can't wait for Wed to get here.

Happy with it so far.

I like that they have been showing more personal backstories for all the characters. Reid already has more issues than Time Magazine so it's nice that they spread the angst around. But they still have been able to not let that overwhelm the storyline so it's been a nice balance so far.

so far i like what i seen this season. as much as like gideon. i don,t really miss him. i can,t waite for joe mantegna to be on. and what he will add to this very good show.

My only suggestion would be to go back to how it used to be and not let us know who the unsub is in the beginning of the episode. It takes away some of the thrill of the chase for me.

"Doubt" was an understandable mess since they had to edit it so much. It has gotten better since then.

Is there any chance we could get Mandy back. The show just isn't the same without him and what is up with Gibson being a no show on the dvds and not doing any pr. I read he moved his family to LA to have them closer. Are we going to lose him too?

Gideon who? I think the show is as good or better than it was with Gideon. To be honest, I haven't missed his character at all. Unless someone references him in an ep, it's like he was never there at all.

I said when we first found out that they were looking for a new character--we didn't need one (I also said the same thing when Elle left...but now it's a good thing they did, I guess.) However, I'm a little more open to this new character...and the promo Jill posted with his character? Looks interesting AND it looks like Hotch will have his hands full getting Agent Rossi to behave. I don't know if he'll get on my nerves as much as Prentiss did...but we'll see.

I also really hope that they keep TG as top-billed; after all, he's been with the show since the start and I don't think it would be fair...Not that what I think matters in the whole thing, but still.

I've enjoyed all the eps so far, even Doubt, even though it was so heavily edited. Although I do agree with those who don't want to know who the unsub is right off. I like mystery and I don't mind the red herrings. Once in a while it's okay to know who did it before hand, but not everytime.

CM is my fave show and as long as they continue to give us great eps, I'll be watching.

I liked "Doubt" but I didn't care to much for "In Blood and Death" and "Scared to Death" because I thought they lack the psychological dept and suspense we became use too. However, I loved "Children of the Dark", although it had a bit mor psychological dept, but most importantly, it tapped into the emotions of the viewers. If that continues, I look forward to a great rest of the season.

I did not like Doubt or Scared to Death but this last episode was better. Now that Gideon is behind us it will probably continue to get better with each episode.

I agree with the othres I would rather see more of the characters we have already, than bringing in a new person. But I liked how Prentiss turned out so I guess we'll see about this guy. Besides he was on SOAP which is awesome so that gives him a plus in my book. I like the new format of seeing the criminals earlier. I think it adds more dept to them and we can so of the reasoning behind why their do what they do. It humanizes them, but after seeing the horrible things they've done it is sometimes difficult to see that they are people with lives of their not entirely evil. I don't know if any of the crime dramas have done that before.

i agree with the first comment made I wasnt impress but I was very angry becuz I miss this last epidode thnx to a really mean b**** made me miss my show she called herself looking at Law & Order like thats a good show to really watch! NOT! that show is so boring!!!!

O one more thing slashgirl u r right Gideon who? I didnt even miss him until Morgan and Hotch had a discussion about at the end on the plane.

I am loving the new season.

And for me, knowing who the unsub is doesn't really matter. The "whodunnit" is never the most interesting aspect.

And I'm really excited about JM coming along. Yay!

Anonymous said...

Sorry for you lose shemargirl.

I am sitting on the fence where the season is concerned. I'm not missing Gideon but after every episode I remember that JM is coming and it brings me down. We'll have to see how big the pedestal is that they put him on.

Anonymous said...

So far so good but we are just starting out. We need a few more episodes to really know how it is going to play out.

Anonymous said...

pretty good so far

I'm somewhat disappointed. I can only think of two episodes in the first season where we knew who the unsub was before/very soon after the credits, and we've three in a row. For me, that takes away a lot of the excitement. I also feel like all I'm seeing is the unsub, how he does it, and why he did. Between shots of that, there's a little profiling of the BAU, some team moments, and not much else. When I think of old episodes, I think of how the team got the guy. When I think of the episodes so far, I think of the unsub and nothing else. Also, almost eery unsub has been very similar. All have been killing because of revenge. Is it strange for me to want a sadist?

I'm enjoying the cast, but I'm excited for JM. I loved the promo, and I think it will add a level of depth to every character. I just hope the style changes back.

I've enjoyed the new season so far, esp this last episode. I don't mind knowing who the unsub is from the start, but I'm not sure if that's how I'd like it every week; a little mixing up would be nice.

And I agree with slashgirl - Gideon who? I didn't think of him at all the last few weeks. I'm looking forward to seeing how they fit Rossi into the team; it took me a whole year to warm up to Emily (I think it was more of how her character was written and she's more human now) but I hope it doesn't take that long for Rossi!

I like the new episodes so far. The new format does change the tension somwewhat but, if you are a student of television and older than, say, 35, you'll remember they did this with Columbo and that really worked out. I think the why is much more interesting than the who anyway.

Please reserve judgement about adding the new character until mid season. Mantegna is a wonderful actor and, personally, I think the team could use the tension a new person will bring. Think of the glorious character reveal that will happen with a new person in the room! Oh, I'm ready.

I'm loving it! The last two episodes have been so different and great! Makes me not want to tell any physciatrist my deepest fear, or answer my door any time soon when someone knocks on it!

I'm loving the new season. I miss Gideon, but I the show is still great without him. I am looking forward to the new character coming on board.

You know I have thought about the knowing who the unsub is plot lines and I think they are experimenting with different ways to tell the story.

Season 1 had very little in the way of character background--they just did the job. A great job, I might add!

Season 2 had more character development and great plot lines. They introduced a new character and got everyone up in arms until they got to know her a little better.

Season 3, they are finding new ways to tell the story and greater character background. We are coming to love Prentiss this year and will be introduced to a new character who is the antithesis of Gideon.

I am excited. I have really liked all the episodes so far and am looking forward to the rest of the season.

The show is just fine without MP, as good as he was in his role.

Existing cast is doing just fine.

Will certainly give JM's character a chance. He is a good actor and I am anxious to see what he brings to the program.

The psychology of the unsub is what I find fascinating. I don't need the who-done-it factor.

Are Morgan and Prentiss a potential? Who is she going to have those children with? Loved the deleted scene on DVD Set 2.

P.S. Thank you, Shemar!

I agree about not Missing Mandy like I thought I would but I do think the show should stop telling us who the unsubs are so early in the episodes.

I have liked all the episodes so far except Doubt and I don't think anyone liked that one.

I like that they aren't focusing all their attention on Reid anymore but have blended him into the group. I guess they ran out of horrible things to do to him. The next step would have been to throw him into a blender and make reid bits. lol

JJ needs a much larger part. She has her moments but they are too few and too far between. She is really good but she fades behind the others.

Loved the last episode.

I think 6 is our lucky number. I'll give the new guy a chance but if he is bad then I hope they hand him a skateboard and send him off to find his bliss somewhere else.

Anonymous said...

I emailed Jill and asked her about Thomas Gibson but she says she doesn't know anything. Another CM group claims he is leaving at the end of the season. I'm sure some others of you have read the same posts. Does anyone have any info on that?

Anonymous said...

Wren,

I'm barely over Mandy leaving so I really do not want to even think about it but yes I read it too.

Love what they have done with Prentiss so far this season. She is really so likeable and fits in so well now.

I agree with those who said, Mandy who?

Anonymous said...

I'm literally torn. We have had 2 awful episodes(the first 2)and then 2 awesome episodes. If the last two is what we can look forward to then I'm great. But if not, I'm not super happy.

Anonymous said...

Well, I am a big Mandy fan, so I miss him, but not like I thought that I would.
I am not at all excited about a new character. I find that I like the group, as is.
But, really, where has Garcia been this season? I do think they could give some time to Garcia and J.J. as others have said.
I do miss the "work" of the team profiling. Somehow it's makes the episodes seems less pyschological. (I am making sense?)
Due to a recording malfunction, I totallly missed the first episode (and why isn't CM available to watch on CBS.com like some of their other shows and/or available on itunes?). My father also called during the begining of the last episode. These interuptions have made me feel a little lost. But I am still hopeful that the show will keep getting better and better.
Any new rumors about the looming writers strike? Will we be doomed to reality show programing like I have read?!? I will definately be watching DVDs if that's the case!

I personally think all the episodes were high-quality TV and I wouldn't change anything in any of them. The writing and acting are both always so masterful. I have complete faith in this team to keep delivering the magic they do every week. I'm very excited for the rest of the season. =)

I think it is going really well and I am looking forward to many more great episodes.

So far I have liked half the episodes but watching Gideon leave was never something I was going to like so I can't blame it on the show or slam it for that.

I liked the last two episodes. I think we are going to like Rossi. He sounds like he is going to be really different and I am going to keep an open mind.

Anonymous said...

I was so freakin sick of the repeats that I would have liked any new episode by the time the season started. I like it so far but would like to see the present cast continue to be the center of attention for the season.

Anonymous said...

More J.J. and more Garcia would make me very happy.

Unknown said...

Not really sure why, but every episode this season has been lacking, imo. Sure, the main reason I was watching was Mandy, but that's not really my problem. I still like Morgan, Reid, and Garcia. The characters don't seem to have the chemistry they used to. The stories aren't as suspenseful.

Things better pick up for sweeps, or I'll probably move on to greener pastures.

Anonymous said...

I am satisfied so far.

Anonymous said...

They haven't quite hit their stride yet but look at the crap they had to deal with coming into the season. I think they have done an amazing job getting themselves on track.

But if TG leaves then I'm outta here.

I think it's been great. Loving it more with every episode. I want to see Morgan and Prentiss hook up. She said she wants to be a mom so who better than Morgan. That would be the most beautiful child in the world. They would have a hard time casting such a pretty baby.

Anonymous said...

I'm fascinated in how much they have changed Emily Prentiss. I have liked everything since the Gideon storyline ended. Those episodes were just hard to enjoy because I knew why they were happening. I look forward to my wed. night cm fix.

Third season is just terrible! These episodes are entirely too short, I want Criminal Minds THE MOVIE!! Every week! Or a regular length episode every night, that would be ok too I guess.

Other than that, season three rocks so far - I'm a little nervous to see the new guy in the mix, but looking forward to it too. Will he become a part of the team, or is he there for nefarious purposes of his own. . . hmmmm, I'm intrigued. . . .

I REALLY enjoyet the beginning of this season!!!!! I had doubts about Doubt, but poor writers, they had a frightening job to do, editing the whole thing like this out of the blue..."scared to death" scaared me to death, and I REALLY enjoyed "children of the dark" even if my child of the light Reid was not in that much... Mr.Mantegna, if you are watching, you are not responsible for this, THEY CANNOT BREAK YOU!!!
Just come in and we will see, I think you will end up fitting perfectly. Look at Prentiss, everybody was calling her 'morticia' at the beginning, that pissed me off, and look now, everybody is loving her...soooo, don't worry.

I'm enjoying having new episodes and having our gang back but I hope the flip it back to not knowing the identity of who the perp is.

I love the season so far. I don't miss Gideon that much although it is a pity that Mandy Patinkin left because he's a great actor. And I'm curious about Rossi. I think we might give him a chance.

Criminal Minds is my favorite show and has been for a while. The writers are very good at their job and I enjoy the cast. So far...David Rossi is fitting in fine. Yes... I was and still am a big Jason Gideon fan but that doesn't take at all from David Rossi and what he has brought so far to the team. With respect to Jason Gideon...his character was very well one of the reasons I began watching the show...so while he(MP) was there he did a damn good job with his the character he was to portray.
