CRIMINAL MINDS: KIRSTEN HAS UPDATED HER CBS BLOG
Criminal Minds: Kirsten Vangsness, Garcia on Criminal Minds, has updated her CBS blog and has included a pen update. She is a really sweet person to wink at us about the pens. I tried to find the picture of the pen she was refering to but we have sent so many this year it was impossible to sort through all the pen pics. We love you Kirsten! You have a heart made of gold. :)

CRIMINAL MINDS: AMANDA BERNERO
Criminal Minds: Amanda Bernero portrayed Rebecca Bryant in three Criminal Minds episodes. In "Fisher King, Part One" Rebecca was the victim the BAU was trying to save. In "Fisher King, Part Two" Rebecca was saved thanks to the wonderful fast thinking Dr. Spencer Reid, played by Matthew Gray Gubler. Unfortunately Rebecca Bryant was one of Frank's victims in "No Way Out, Part Two: The Evilution of Frank". Amanda did a wonderful job in all three episodes. What I will never forget is the conversation in the chat room after NWO 2. Ed Bernero killed off his daughter's character was the theme for much of the chat. I recently asked Mr. Bernero about this and he pointed out to me that Amanda had actually guest starred in more episodes than any other guest. Thinking about it later I realized that Frank's killing of the BAU's survivors was one of the things that actually made NWO 2 different from any other Criminal Minds episode and helped it to be the incredible episode it is. Thank you to Stacy for the screencaps of Amanda. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1057085/.

Criminal Minds: Lets say that you were in our Criminal Minds chat room one day talking about the show and a "visitor" dropped in to say hello to everyone. (all together now)
We've got to get out of this place
If its the last thing we ever do
Thank you to the Animals for setting the tone there.
British people, grab a cushion and prepare to go "Eurghh" and "Oooooh" and "Yikes" as Living TV grant us "Legacy", in which homeless people have great teeth and the team do good work.
Chattage will commence at 10.00pm UK time (5.00pm EST) in the room of chat.
Everyone welcome. Bring your own snacks.

CRIMINAL MINDS: A MESSAGE FROM GINA GARCIA SHARP!
Criminal Minds: Gina Garcia Sharp commented on an earlier thread on the blog. I am posting it for those who did not see it. It is great that Gina will still be associated with Criminal Minds. She is a very special person. I would also like to welcome Erica to our Criminal Minds family!
Hi Friends!
Thank you once again for all of your kind words! You guys are the best!
Unfortunately I had to leave CM full time due to some personal obligations. Nothing dramatic, everything's ok, just very demanding and time-consuming.
Jill had asked if she could mention it and I requested she hold off since we were all still whirling from the past few weeks events.
In any event, I love these people dearly and will be there from time to time filling in for the new gal Erica when she's on vacation etc! So you'll still see me around!
XOXO
Gina

CRIMINAL MINDS: ED BERNERO KEEPS US IN THE LOOP.
Dear CM Friends:
Just to keep you all in the loop, there is talk going around that Geena Davis may be the replacement actor. This is not true. She was someone we talked about but we aren't going that way. Still nothing solid to report. We are working our way through some pretty interesting people and we'll let you know as soon as something is definite.
Everyone is doing fine and we are all looking forward now to the future. Thanks again for all the kind words.

CRIMINAL MINDS: LIMERICK CONTEST ENTRIES
Criminal Minds Fanatic Limerick Contest:
We thought a limerick contest might be a great way for our very creative members to spend part of the “encore episode” season. We also want to get some giggles from the Criminal Minds cast and crew who regularly view the blog and website.
A limerick, for the uninitiated, is a five line poem that follows a very specific pattern. The first, second and fifth lines must rhyme and the third and fourth must rhyme. You have probably heard something like this one:
There was a young man in New York
Who ate all his meals with a fork
But he was given chopsticks
And his table for six
Got covered in noodles and pork!
To see more examples just search the internet for limericks and you can see how the limerick is designed. We do want your original creations, though.
Our topic: Criminal Minds characters and episodes from Season 1 and Season 2
The contest begins immediately after this notice is posted to the blog and ends on Saturday July 28th at 12 PM (High Noon) Eastern Daylight Time.
To officially register your entry:
Go to the message board on the website and send a PM (personal message) to “sherlockette” that includes your entry. These will be saved to match you to your creation after the judging!!!
Look for the Post “LOL Criminal Minds Fanatic Limerick Contest-Entries”.
Post your entry. You must post as “ANONYMOUS” on the blog.
RULES……
1. Only Criminal Minds Fanatic Website members can participate.
2. Limericks must be original works by the member contestant.
3. Subject matter must be PG in nature!!!!!! That means we want funny but no obscene language-we will delete you!
4. No limericks about the actors will be allowed, so don’t go “off script”.
5. Fanfic and shipping between characters are off limits.
6. Multiple entries are allowed but you must register and post each one as a separate entry.
7. Entries will be judged based on content, creativity and adherence to the limerick style and to the topic of characters and episodes.
8. The judging will be done by a "person or persons of interest"
9. Remember:
The Criminal Minds Fanatic web site
Wants to keep you composing all night
But it’s the judges’ decision
Who’s the poet with vision
He who profiles CM episodes right
Oh yes-the prize. It is a Set of the Criminal Minds Season 1 DVDs!!!!!!!
(thank you to Sherlockette for designing and running this contest)

CRIMINAL MINDS: UPCOMING EVENTS
Criminal Minds: There is a lot of great things happening in the Criminal Minds world this week. The Criminal Minds Fanatic website and the Criminal Minds Yahoo groups will be holding two chats in addition to Nebula's (boy is that room turning out to be money well spent). On Saturday the chat will begin at 5pm est. and on Sunday it will begin at 10 pm est. Remember that the room is ours and open to any members who want to chat with each other each whenever they want to. Ed Bernero answered some more of the "Writers Questions" last night, so you will want to be sure to check that out. Our wonderful moderator Sherlockette is working on a fantastic new contest for you involving writing Criminal Minds limericks. The prize is a brand new set of Criminal Minds Season One DVDs. By now everyone in the fandom knows that Kirsten has posted on her CBS blog. Welcome back Kirsten. I have some great news about Amanda Bernero that I will sharing with you all in a few days (hint: we may be seeing another thread on the message board....). We have another great repeat this week. We have lots of exciting and positive things happening this week. Everyone have a safe and wonderful weekend and on a personal note: my daughter who has been away at camp and looking at colleges for the last six weeks comes home today. Yeah for me. :)

CRIMINAL MINDS: KIRSTEN'S UPDATED HER BLOG
CRIMINAL MINDS: JUST MY OPINION
Criminal Minds: As I said last night I have three Criminal Minds topics to discuss and Mr. Patinkin is going to be the first. Mr. Patinkin sings like an angel. He is wonderful in concert. I know because I have seen his concerts several times. I have never seen him on the stage but from what I have read he is flawless there as well. I think he is a gifted and wonderful tv and motion picture actor. His charitable works and support of the State of Israel are nothing short of inspiring. His long term marriage and the poise his sons show while out in public show a true and deep commitment to family which in his business is rare. He has always been open and honest about his previous health problems and his fight with depression which I truly admire because I believe by doing so countless others have been educated about several of his medical conditions and learned how to ask for help and that is a great service to the community.
I do not know why Mr. Patinkin left Criminal Minds. I, like most of you, pray that he isn't sick again. In normal circumstances I would defend to my death his right to privacy but these are not normal circumstances. When your behavior has the real potential of seriously hurting countless others then I think your right to privacy becomes a moot point. In my opinion, Mr. Patinkin's behavior and his timing with this matter are not just unacceptable they were also reckless. Had Mr. Patinkin given the studios proper notice of his intentions to leave, for whatever his reasons are, then they would have had the time to do what needed to be done to insure a smooth transition. That is the business end of it but to me the personal side is even sadder.
To me it is not acceptable to treat the people who you have worked with and for with such disdain and lack of loyalty. Mr. Patinkin and I are both Jewish and as a Jew I can tell you that we are taught that you feed others before yourself, you take care of community before yourself, you take care of your family before yourself. It is what is expected and what is required. All religions speak of personal responsibily but Judiasm is based on it and Mr. Patinkin is a true Jewish man who seems to have lost his way. This is the part that breaks my heart and the reason I have attended services every night since this started. I pray for his health and I pray for him to once again find his Jewish compass. He has one. Tzedukah says it is not only the money you donate or the fundraising you do but also the charity of heart in how you treat those who need you. These may sound like fancy words to you but they are the backbone of the Jewish faith. G-d requires action before words, responsibilty before rest and commitment before pleasure. So it is written and so shall it be. Up until this all happened I used Mr. Patinkin as a wonderful example of Tzedukah for my daughter who is now 16. He has been one of her examples for all her life. I told him this when I visited the set in March and he told me how much that meant to him. In Judiasm you teach children from an early age by showing them other peoples' and your own example of the proper way to commit Tzedukah. My 16 year old daughter would never have handled this situation in such an undignified and reckless manner. She learned her lessons well and her moral compass is defined.
There has been talk about people never watching him on tv again, burning his CDs, etc. I cringe at what he did. I dislike it with every fiber of my being and I will never be satisfied (not that this would matter to him) until he has asked for and received the forgiveness of each and every cast member, producer, writer, crew member and security guard on the studio lot. But burning CDs and the such is not what is called for here. Mandy bashing is not what is called for either. Praying that Mr. Patinkin will find a way to not only take personal responsibility but to positively help those he has, in my opinion, damaged is what is called for in this situation. Pray for the people who have been injured both emotionally and with the new truckload of work they are wading in now. Pray that you can help find the show new viewers to help replace those that will leave. Pray that Mr. Patinkin will soon stand before those he has damaged and tell the full and real reason he left, apologize for the manner in which he left and take responsibility for his actions. That is what Judiasm expects and he is a true Jewish man.
Many of you have emailed me and asked if I hate him now. Of course not. Hate is a wasted emotion that serves no purpose and has no place in everyday life. I deeply dislike what he did. I do not hate the man. What I feel is sadness and disgust. Disgusted that he did this and sad that he has lost his way. I am sad for those he has injured and for those are are hurting. I am sad for those of his fans. like myself, that are hurting. I am sad that even looking at his picture on my blog right now makes me want to hit the delete button. It made me sad to hear the hurt in Mr. Bernero's voice when I spoke with him.
For what it is worth or is not worth these are my thoughts right now regarding Mr.Patinkin.

CRIMINAL MINDS: PRESS RELEASE STATEMENTS
CRIMINAL MINDS: HERE IS WHAT WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR:
STATEMENTS FROM ABC STUDIOS AND CBS PARAMOUNT NETWORK TELEVISION, AND MANDY PATINKIN:
ON BEHALF OF ABC STUDIOS AND CBS PARAMOUNT NETWORK TELEVISION:
Last week, Mandy Patinkin asked to be released from his role on Criminal Minds. We have honored this request, which was not in any way connected to contract renegotiations or salary issues. His departure from the series will be explained to audiences in an episode to be filmed in the near future and broadcast early next season. We thank Mandy for helping to make Criminal Minds a strong and successful series, and we wish him the best in his future endeavors. A new character will be added to the series for next season.
ON BEHALF OF MANDY PATINKIN:
Due to creative differences, Mandy has asked not to return to Criminal Minds this season. Mandy would like to thank the studios and network for releasing him from the series and he wishes the cast and crew continued success in all of their endeavors and looks forward to continuing to work with the Disney and CBS companies in other capacities in the future.

CRIMINAL MINDS: WELCOME TO A NEW BEGINNING!

To the new viewers of this blog: Please join with us in support of the show and our continuing prayers for everyone that is involved in this difficult situation. We would welcome your membership and participation in our Criminal Minds Fanatic Website. There is a link on the left of the front page of the blog.
While we wait for news we need to remember that there is a great repeat this week. Tune in for that. It is a great episode. Our normal chats will continue and I was thrilled with so many new members being involved the chat yesterday. We enjoyed having you with us and hope you will join us again.
To the staff and crew of Criminal Minds: All my love and support....always! You are the best and the brightest in the industry and I have no doubt that you will continue to handle yourselves with the same grace and excellence that you have displayed for the past two years.
I have already received hundreds of emails to deliver to the cast and crew in a few weeks. They are full of positive energy and love. I know they will be appreciated. It enriches my spirits just receiving them.
To a special new friend: I did step away from the computer yesterday. I went shopping. Thank you for worrying about me. I am fine. You take good care of yourself and I will do the same.
To the media: When I find out how you got your hands on my personal unlisted home telephone number I am going to have a whole lot to say to you. Of that you can be assured. I am always good to my word. If you want a statement of any kind you need to contact CBS. No exceptions. Why you would want to ask me anything in the first place boggles my imagination. I am just a lady with a blog.
All my best to all of you,
Jill

CRIMINAL MINDS: OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM ED BERNERO
There have been several reports recently in the media about the Mandy Patinkin situation on Criminal Minds. Firstly, they are true -- Mr. Patinkin has left the show. What's troubling to us though, is that the reports tend to suggest or hint that the Producers, the Studios or CBS have something to do with what has happened. Phrases like 'maybe cooler heads will prevail...' and the like have been used. Let me make this clear: this is not about a contract renegotiation, this is not about money, this is not about something Mr. Patinkin asked for that wasn't provided -- in fact, everyone involved in the show has for two years bent over backward to give him ANYTHING he wanted.
Mr. Patinkin told the show, the studios and the network the he was returning right up to the day before we started shooting the first episode and then simply did not show up. He also has not contacted anyone within the show (producers, cast, crew) to explain why he isn't returning. Even to this moment, we have no word from him. He gave us no advance notice that anything was wrong, no oppurtunity to find a way to make the loss of this character work, no indication that we should be looking for someone else, no warning that we might have to rewrite the first seven scripts (which is how far ahead we try to work) without the central character in them. None. Zero. He was not, as some media reports have indicated, written 'lightly' in our first episode, in fact, it was quite the opposite. Because of the construct of the first episode story, he was actually in the center of that episode. He left us completely in the proverbial lurch.
As loyal fans of the show, we think you all deserve an explanation and I wish I had a better one to give you. The most amazing writing staff in television is working very hard to find a way to make this work and we will find a way to give you the organic, dramatic experience you expect from CM.
If I have new news I will provide it and if there are questions you have, Jill will provide a way to get the questions to us at the show and we will do our best to answer. If you hear a rumor, please ask us. I remain touched and humbled by the support you have all shown the show.
Thank you so much --
Ed Bernero

CRIMINAL MINDS: SUNDAY CHAT INFO:
CRIMINAL MINDS: NOTHING TO SAY
Criminal Minds: I wish I had something to say about the recent stories, rumors and concerns that have circulated the past few days rampant over the internet but I don't and I can't say anything. CBS is not making any comment right now so that gives me a few choices. I can believe the numerous and vastly different scenerios rumbling all over the internet or I can put my faith in CBS and Mr. Patinkin and believe that when and if there is something we should know that they will tell us. I have chosen to do the later. I will disregard the media stories and rumors and wait for those who really know what, if anything, is really happening to tell us. I am not trying to be rude by not answering your emails. I am not trying to be rude by not taking your telephone calls. I understand that you are truly and genuinely concerned. So am I but I don't have aything to say right now. When I do have something to report that is from a reliable source I promise to post it if I am given proper permission. :)

CRIMINAL MINDS: TALENTED, HUMBLE & FUNNY
Criminal Minds: Andrew Wilder is one of the most talked about and praised Criminal Minds writers on this blog and on the website. He has written: "North Mammon", "The Tribe", "L.D.S.K". and "Ashes and Dust", which we lovingly renamed without his permission, "Fire and Enya". Andrew is a young, talented and dedicated writer who is passionate about the show and its characters. I had the great priviledge of watching the last day of the filming of Ashes and Dust and spending some time talking with Andrew. It was certainly one of the highlights of the trip. I said yesterday that we have many things to look forward to during season three of Criminal Minds and Andrew is one of them. He has graciously offered to answer fans questions after the airing of the season three episodes that he is writing. So lets hope that Andrew writes many of the scripts for season three so we get to talk to him alot. Andrew's picture is bottom row on the right hand side of this photo. Thank you Andrew for writing some of our very favorite episodes. You helped set the bar high the past two seasons and we have full faith and confidence that you will raise it even higher this season. :)

CRIMINAL MINDS: I HAVE NO PROBLEM REPEATING MY POSITION!
Criminal Minds: The actors of Criminal Minds only owe us a good performance on the show. They do not owe us a behind the scenes look at their private lifes. Whatever is happening to them personally is their business and not ours and that is the way it should be. Privacy and respect are hot topics with me and those of you who know me already know that. I will not be answering any emails that deal with any actor on the show's personal life. It is called "personal" for a reason! :)

Criminal Minds fan Stacy, as most of you already know, is an amazing person. She is our tech person on both the Criminal Minds Fanatic blog and the website. She helps moderate the Criminal Minds Yahoo Conversation group and she is always available to answer the overflow of newbie emails. If you haven't seen her screencaps then you are truly missing a treasure. I just wanted to take a moment to thank her for everything she does for all of us. If I could mail her Thomas Gibson, her favorite actor, I would but short of doing that I do offer my thanks.

CRIMINAL MINDS: FISHER KING II QUOTES
Criminal Minds: The quotes from Criminal Minds' "Fisher King, Part Two" were:
"It has been said, ‘time heals all wounds.’ I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone." Rose Kennedy
"The defects and faults in the mind are like wounds in the body. After all imaginable care has been taken to heal them up, still there will be a scar left behind." Francois de La Rochefoucauld

CRIMINAL MINDS: HAPPY BIRTHDAY MONA!
Criminal Minds: I wanted to wish Criminal Minds fan Mona a very Happy Birthday. Mona started watching Criminal Minds because she was "forced into it". She went to a Super Bowl party and the hosts asked everyone to watch the episode "The Big Game" and she has been hooked ever since. So a huge Criminal Minds thank you goes out to Julie and her husband for hooking us another Criminal Minds fan and for giving Mona the address to this blog. She has been a great supporter of the show and the blog. Mona is currently trying to convert the rest of her friends and family. Way to go Mona and Happy Birthday!
