CBS: We, the fans of Criminal Minds, find it both disturbing and inconceivable that Thomas Gibson and Shemar Moore, after months of active negotiations, still have no contract for season seven. What makes it even worse is that it comes on the heels of the firing then rehiring of A.J. Cook and the equally shabby treatment extended to Paget Brewster.
Criminal Minds has always been a cash cow for both ABC and CBS. Unlike many shows on TV today Criminal Minds' profit margin has increased every season and then there is the fact that it continually beats out the scripted competition in its time slot. It also has a much larger viewership than does the spin-off, which continues to receive sub-par ratings. CBS certainly can't be having financial troubles since Les Moonves' new contract is for over 57 million dollars.
Criminal Mind without Thomas Gibson or Shemar Moore is inconceivable and unacceptable to us and we ask that you please read the comments attached to this post before you make another one of our cast members endure the emotional slap in the face that you extended to our beloved actresses or worse, not bringing them back for season seven.

I’ve missed Hotch this year. The character has so much to say; he’s had so much to deal with that was just ignored this season (as was the character) so I hope this gets resolved. Of course, that would mean TG’s contract getting renewed, so i hope tptb are reading this and hearing that the fans want ALL of their cast back. TG deserves a raise for all the emmy-level work he’s done so just give him and us a break and sign him! CM isn’t the same without him and is a poor replica. No Hotch no cm and not a show I’m interested in.
Hotch is so sexy! I just love this man! Looks good in a suit, with or without a tie, looks good in Kevlar and at home with Jack. He’s such a great role model and I look forward to CM each week because of Hotch. Hotch rocks so he’d better be back and lots of him for S7!!!
I completely agree Tasha. Even TG said he was surprised at the lack of Hotch this season. I hope this wasn't a 'test' for the fans and a set up for a Hotch-less Criminal Minds. I love this show but I'll never watch without Hotch.
No one can lead this team as Hotch can. Criminal Minds has one unit chief and one alone - Aaron Hotchner. Do you really need another flop a-la CSI to figure out that Thomas Gibson as a lead is truly irreplaceable? You're going to regret your decision just as much as you regretted firing Paget and AJ. Thomas Gibson is essential to Criminal Minds. Get that through your heads already!

The strength of Criminal Minds is its character-driven formula, lead by Thomas Gibson. This season got away from that formula... too much focus on the unsubs and not nearly enough attention on Hotch. IMHO, that hurt the show. Hotch has lots of fans and we waited every week to see how he’d react to all of the stuff he went through last year but we are still waiting. I don’t get it... why would you keep your best player on the bench?! Give us lots and lots and lots of Hotch next year and make this one a distant memory. As lots of others have stated, No Hotch No CM.
No Hotch/TG No CM. Need Hotch and Morgan next season. All the team and all the time.
I'm so sick of my fave show being the target of executives who just sit in their swanky office and never watch the programs they are so quick to try to destroy. They attempted to ruin CM by taking our women. Now they are trying same with our men. Both TG & SM are essential to our show. Hotch is my favorite and I would find something else to watch on Wed nights if he isn't back, with a return to the forefront status he deserves. I agree with those who have stated that episodes totally lacking in a character are beyond bad, esp when thats Hotch. He's just too critical. Sign both TG and SM. No Hotch, forget CM.
I am not the kind of person who gets hooked on a television show, but I AM hooked on Criminal Minds... it is the main reason I decided to get DVR service.
The reason I like this show so much is the cast. I was able to survive the loss of AJ Cook and Paget Brewster, but if Shemar Moore or Thomas Gibson are removed from the cast, I do not know if I will be able to enjoy the show as I once did, if I am able to watch it at all.
I think it is insulting to the actors, AND to the fans to have not already signed new contracts with Moore and Gibson. I sincerely hope that CBS has learned from their mistake with Cook and Brewster and will make every effort to keep the cast intact.
Considering how many viewers were lost with the departure of Cook and Brewster, surely CBS realizes that to lose Moore and/or Gibson would possibly be a FATAL mistake for 'Criminal Minds'.
For me Criminal Minds has always been about the team. this for me is a unit. Each part brings something to the table, they each have their unique character, their unique strengths that make them awesome and weaknesses that make them endearing and human. This show can not function without one or more pieces of the unit missing. It doesn't work without JJ or Prentiss, it would never ever work without Morgan and Hotch. It's ridiculous even to think that the show would be the same. It's ridiculous to think that the fans would be the same, that they won't get tired of this constant roller-coaster you're submitting us to. Enough with the unwanted changes. Sign TG and SM tomorrow morning, give them a raise, bring Paget back as well and maybe, just maybe these fans will forgive you.

Losing the character that holds the team together, portrayed by an incredibly talented actor is unforgivable and I will certainly draw my conclusions from the fact he remains unsigned for next season. Losing this character, and yes I'm talking about Aaron Hotchner (portrayed by Thomas Gibson), will have a disastrous effect on the show. It will never be the same and the show will most likely never recover from the loss. And no, it can't be compared to the leaving Jason Gideon. The show is still not getting the appreciation it clearly deserves - with 14 million weekly viewers - and the fans are being ignored. And we're not talking about the average fans of several other fandoms, with all due respect. It will be a bad call to allow Thomas Gibson to leave but if he does, I will not only not be watching Criminal Minds anymore, but I will not watch any of the CBS shows anymore. That's how strongly I feel about it and the value of this character & actor to CM.
Bring back Thomas! TG should have won an Emmy for his work on CM 10x over so I don’t get why CBS haven’t signed him yet. This should be a no-brainer. Seaver is expendable, Hotch is not. No Hotch/TG, no CM. PS- TG AND Paget AND SM would be great. Listen to the fans CBS!

I have put up with CBS' interference for the last time. If these actors are not given the respect they are due and do not return full time, I will sadly be forced to look elsewhere on Wednesday nights and beyond. I expect much more from such an investment in time, and I'm sure our actors do too for making CM such a success. Sign these actors now and save the show.
I don't think there's anything I could add that hasn't been so eloquently said before. the bottom line is we need all the cast back, and by all the cast I do mean ALL of them, including Paget. Totally agree & would like to add a big THANK YOU for bringing A.J. back. Criminal Minds is one of only two U.S. shows that I DVR. Not only do I watch it, I live-blog & frequently re-watch episodes numerous times.
Criminal Minds is the only crime drama that makes the victim the centerpiece, as opposed to the criminal. Also, it is intelligent, daring and frightening. I'm talking hide-behind-the-couch scary. Thanks to 'Revelations' I will never not have a piece of opaque tape over my webcam!
The dynamic between the cast is why it works. Bernero, Mirren et al have crafted a family out of our team. They ARE the knights of the round table - it is the perfect example of 'nakama' or 'found family'.
It took a couple of seasons for someone to drag me into watching the show. Most 'criminal procedurals' are too unrealistic as well as exploitive. The first episode I watched, 'L.D.S.K.' seen on a re-run channel, hooked me. The way the show evolved only made it better. The additions of both Rossi & Prentiss gelled the show into the brilliant ensemble it is.
So, yes, I DO want Paget back. Desperately. This show respects women & I want the dynamic to be back to where the characters are equal & fiercely strong.
But Criminal Minds without Morgan - a rarity of having the incredibly handsome alpha-male being a survivor of sexual assault... Criminal Minds without Hotch - the team's 'mom' who has born the weight of all of their pain, plus his horrific ordeal at the hands of Foyet, all the while shoring them up & putting the TEAM before himself... well, I wouldn't feel any need to ever watch the show again.
Now I know I am one of ever-so-many viewers, but please take my comments as heart-felt. I LOVE this show because it is something we don't see on television: a brilliantly written & acted piece that also happens to be as intellectual as it is thrilling.
PLEASE do not repeat what so many of us saw as huge mistakes with the contracts last season. The only reason I kept watching was to see how MY team would deal with the losses. Re-sign the brilliantly talented actors, bring back Paget [if at all possible] & let's see how they deal with her secrets & J.J.'s return.

I totally agree with everything said on the petition. The cast is an ensemble and every member is vital to the show's success - with the exception of Rachel Nichols, whose character hasn't been developed enough yet for me to tell. I'm glad you (CBS) have realised your mistake in firing A.J. and Paget, and I hope this mistake isn't made again with Shemar and Thomas. The numbers are overwhelming: 95% of the show's fans wouldn't watch if TG were gone. These dismissals for "creative purposes" or otherwise have really got to stop. CBS, even if you don't care about how we, the fans, feel, you have to at least care about the ratings and the profit coming in from Criminal Minds. Without SM and TG, I predict the show's viewership will take a plunge and as such the profitability will too.
Such a thought is inconceivable. So please, CBS, renew SM and TG's contracts and keep everyone happy.

I began watching Criminal Minds because Thomas Gibson is a member of the cast; I remained a FAN of the show because it’s was a well written thriller with a cast of characters I want to spend time getting to know and I love TG’s/ Hotch. I’ve invested countless hours enjoying the show on CBS along with reruns on A&E and ION; I also have all 5 Seasons of the DVD’s.
Earlier this season when “25 to Life” aired, I was devastated that CBS would air a Criminal Minds episode without Thomas Gibson it was inexcusable and the worst episode ever. I deleted it from my DVR immediately; as a matter of fact I’ve only saved 5 from this year to watch again. The poor writing, the limited screen time of Hotch and the ridiculous new character have all played into a less than stellar Season 6. When Hotch said to Rossi in “Hanley Waters”; “It’s been a rough year…” I really felt like the writer’s used our leader to appease the fans with this acknowledgement. (Not only for the viewer but for the cast too.)
The BEST part of Criminal Minds has always been the TEAM/Family, I’m thrilled that Erica Messer will be the show runner going forward, she gives me hope that the show will get back to greatness it once was. I’m very happy that AJ Cook will be back as a cast regular and I’d be overjoyed to see Paget Brewster back too.
I watch CM over and over and I ran into another fan who she said that her and her husband watch Seasons 1 – 5 on DVD and get to the end and say “Well, let’s start them over.” So I know I’m not alone!
I’m not as emotionally attached to Shemar/Morgan but I can’t imagine the show without him either. I absolutely WILL NOT watch the show if Thomas is not on the show; stop underutilizing the talents of this fantastic actor. Another poster mentioned Love and Human Remains; I absolutely agree, TG’s portrayal of David was BRILLIANT and his portrayal of Hotch is BRILLIANT too.

ITA, '25 to Life' was the worst episode in CM history. Never before have we had a character completely absent and considering it was the show's lead, it was obvious and it was pathetic. I don't mind the odd character-centric epi because I'm interested in the characters (esp Hotch & how he's dealing with his issues) but NOT at the complete expense of another. I would like both TG & SM signed so we can get back to the good old days & why I started watching. But I NEED TG to be put back into his rightful leadership place & not omitted again. No Hotch, No CM. PVR's have a delete button for a reason.

Well, it seems like we are back where we started last summer. I hope not, but with this contract stalemate for Thomas and Shemar I can't help but to think that we (fans, viewing audience) are possibly being set-up for another crazy summer.
The way that AJ and Paget were treated was unaccpetable and completely dispectful. These women poured everything they had in portraying the JJ and Prentiss characters to only be cast aside for a character that is ill- conceived, ill-fitting, and nowhere near the level of those two characters, let alone one of them. I seriously hope you don't think you can run the same type of scenario again with Thomas or Shemar. That would be foolish and would complete what appears to be a conscious effort to decimate this show. Getting AJ back gives me a little glimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe, you caught onto the fact that her character on the show was not inconsequential, just as Paget's character isn't inconsequential. I'm hoping against hope that Paget will be back sesaon 7 so that we can get back to the team that made this show a success. If not, then like others, I will be upset, but will run with the men, Garcia and JJ as team members. I really hope you are doing all you can to get Paget to come back. It is up to her whether she returns, but you can help by taking steps to repair what you broke in that relationship.
CBS, continuing the work of fixing what you broke. Please get a fair contract up and going for Thomas and Shemar.

I have to say I am never going to accept the new chick. Sorry, but the character was basically poof, there, in a few episodes after we lost AJ/JJ. Imho, that was just a cruel and heartless thing to do to fans:
shove a lookalike 'clone' at us and think it would make things alright. Well, it does not.
But that was not bad enough, no about six months on we lose another beloved 'family' member when Paget/Emily left? Twice in one season viewers and fans basically mean nothing, and are slapped in the face.

I remember a cast photo being released last season, of the last day of shooting. I believe it was mid April,2010. All seven of them,looking so awesome and happy. Not long after that, the news came out about losing Aj and Paget. Talk about a knife to the heart!
This show has a dynamic and a chemistry that few others have. That other shows and networks would kill to have. But these people seem heck bent on sending the show into the grave with all the drama going on! Can't anyone wake up and smell the coffee, and see that there was nothing broken here, there was no need to mess with it. For me Thomas/Hotch and Shemar/Morgan my two favourites. The series is worth nothing without them. I do not want them to omit these two superb actors from the next season. I am professional. I live in Hungary, and director, screenwriter my work.I would work with pleasure together once with these two superb actors. You may believe me it if I say that CBS will lose many spectators. Because nobody may replace these two superb actors.
To break up the team would be a big mistake. We all saw how well it worked this season. If CM loses Thomas or Shemar that's the end for me.
CBS. Will you ever learn from your mistakes? I never cared for Lola or Mandy and their leaving did not leave me heart broken but my heart cracked when AJ left. Then Paget, which cracked it even further. To see AJ (and hopefully Paget, although I would understand her reasons for not returning) return ....wow....insane. But then....this news: As of yet, no new contracts signed for either Thomas or Shemar!?
These two brilliant and under appreciated Actors were here for the show from day one. They help built the show and its immense fan base and to see them leave would be devastating to the show, your ratings and your cash flow.

I cannot imagine in a million years the show continuing in any way, shape or fashion without the two. WAY more so that the original loss of AJ and PB: not because they aren't special but BECAUSE of having lost them, CRIMINAL MINDS WILL NOT BE CRIMINAL MINDS without the guys. It's an ensemble cast and we need ALL the players or as close to it as we can come to be credible.
CM will survive without Paget altho' I would love to see her return. CM will survive with RN altho' I would love to see her gone: it just looks so silly to see her shoulder to shoulder with AJ - it seems like a bad joke.
Please understand that you have forced the cast and the entire fandom to ride a roller coaster this past season; we want that ride of uncertainty to end and get back to focusing with wonderment at the show that encompasses our hearts and souls every Wednesday nite. I have to vehemently disagree with you gubegirl. Having a character on the show that causes the other characters to be written out of character is never a good idea. Not to mention that having AJ and RN shoulder to shoulder is not only a bad joke, but just plain asinine. Having such a character on the show WILL effect the rest of the characters; mark my words it WILL. Would love to see Paget come back, but that is all on her, and if she doesn't come back I'd soon they just leave it at six or write a credible character into the show. A character that doesn't cause out of character writing and one that is a good fit for the show.
I also have to disagree that the loss of the men would be more serious than that of AJ and Paget. As you said, this is an ensemble cast and the loss of any of its members is deeply felt. This was different of course with Gideon and Elle because they hadn't been as firmly planted in the show as Hotch, Morgan, Rossi, Reid, JJ, Prentiss and Garcia. Their loss came in the beginning and that could be, to some extent, moved past, along with the fact that the characters that came in their place were good and fit with the show. The fact that they each left of their own accord also made things smoother. The AJ and Paget situation was disrespectful and disgusting. I'm glad that AJ is coming back and hope that Paget returns as well. Thomas and Shemar simply have to come back or you can just start turning off the studio lights and packing up the boxes at the lot because I don't believe this show can withstand another hit to the cast. You got rid of two, to insert one that is bad and off, only to get one of the ones you dumped back, another one is up in the air, and now there is a threat to two other cast members. This is insane. Do what needs to be done or start digging the grave to throw this show into.

It doesn't make any sense to not renew the contracts of Shemar Moore and Thomas Gipson. They are great actors and without them the show wouldn't be the same. Even if the character remains but you change the actor, it simply won't work. Please resign them. The show is awesome and of the few I actually watch

A decision to not secure their contracts would undoubtably ruin the show, and effectively lower CBS network ratings.

CBS finally got their heads out of their asses over AJ in time to get her back, we may have permanetly lost Paget, but now they are being idiots about Thomas and Shemar. Really, CBS? Why is it that CBS was so willing to throw money at a person with the history of Charlie Sheen, glad that blew up in thier faces, but not respectable people like our beloved CM cast? Hope CBS learned some lessons this past year and put their money and time into shows and casts like CM.

I really think that CBS -should really think about what they did with A.J. before making a decision on Gibson and Moore.This two characters are the main characters and belong to the team.
CM is a great show which I watch regularly. I think it would be ill advised not to renew these actors contracts, as they are the reason so many viewers tune in. Dont know what the agenda is here, but I would not be a viewer anymore.
I would not watch without Sheamr. He is not just a pretty face. He is an essental character. He still was needed after his bike accident- TG too. Atfist I was surpized bc i was usedto seeing him on Dharma and Greg. He is the perfect chief. I think cm would suck without the both of them.

This show is one of the best on the air. A cast second to none, with an amazing chemistry that networks would give their eye teeth for. And lo and behold, some comes along with the **brilliant** 'creative decisions' crap last year and thinks it is a good idea! Really! I give that experiment a minus. My message to CBS is that both Thomas Gibson and Shemar Moore should get contracts now. Both of them are extremely important to the show, as are the rest of the cast.
As far as other things that have been stated and discussed in the comments, I think that's diluting the focus of what this should be about. Which are the lack of contracts for the two gentleman, since they are the ones right now without them. I know there are different opinions on all the other issues concerning the show, but I don't think those things need to be written in this message to CBS. This is about Thomas Gibson and Shemar Moore getting contracts for next season and hopefully beyond, but definitely next season. This thread should present a united front on that. I'm sure there will be other threads where people can voice concerns about the writing of episodes or characters or how much screen time anyone is given. Without contracts, there will be zero screen time.
I only have one thing to say in regards to the other actors. I want both men to have contracts and I want it done without a single other actor on the show treated unfairly in the process. So, bottom line, treat every actor fairly, and have them all back next season. Thank you.
CBS - Please give Thomas Gibson his contract soon. We need to be able to relax this summer and look forward to Season 7 without the angst of last summer. Shemar too.
Angelwriter, they all go hand in hand. Talking about the other issues doesn't dilute the importance of getting a contract for Thomas and Shemar. People have been very vocal and united about that; these men need contracts and they need them now. Bringing up the other things which I feel is extremely important is showing the network that the fans are upset, that they can't be fooled, and that this is the absolute straw for many of them. AJ and Paget make a big part of this whole conversation because what was done to them looks like is what is trying to be done with Thomas and Shemar and that is unacceptable. Their disrespect for these two actresses, then their trying to proceed to fill their void with a character that is by and large not accepted by many for different reasons is what a lot fear will happen with Thomas and Shemar. Like others, I have nothing against Nichols, but I don't think the character is a good fit for the show and believe it hasn't, nor will it, enhance the show one bit and it wouldn't be the first time that a character that has been on for a season or less is written off of a show on this network as well as others. Now, will that happen, I don't know. I think it should, but I am not in charge of that decision making, if I were, AJ and Paget would still be there along with writers such as Andrew Wilder. However, in my opinion, these things are interconnected.
The network tore apart an amazing cast for nothing other than their belief that the viewing audience can be programmed to go with anything they throw out its way. They have sucker punched a show that has done nothing but perform well for the network. Well, they see now that is not the case and I hope they do something quickly to right the wrongs they have heaped unnecessarily onto this show. They made a step in hiring back AJ, now they have got to keep going and draft a contract for Thomas and Shemar.
Stop this craziness and get Thomas and Shemar locked in for next season!!!!
Sandra: I feel I need to clarify myself: I said clearly that I DO NOT want to see RN stay on this show but I refuse to beat that dead horse again anytime soon or continue to badmouth the character/actress. Most of us here agree that it is a poorly written character.
AJ is already returning so I feel hope. I feel that most everyone else will see the two ladies working side by side is unwise - kind of defeats the purpose (hopefully CBS will see this as well - hope?). If RN's or AJ's roles were different than they have been in the past, meaning a very different re-write - then MAYBE it could work. That's a BIG MAYBE. I hold out every hope that Paget will be returning as well.
As I stated, AJ is returning, which recups a portion of the loss we have suffered already but the possible loss of TG and SM would be insurmountable even with AJ back. Even if PB returned also.

gubegirl, I was merely stating that I disagreed with your assessment of the fact that one set of losses is more important that another set of losses. If that is not what you meant, then sorry. The loss of either Gibson or Moore now would be a devastating blow that I don't think this show would be able to recover from, yes, but this cycle was started with the losses of AJ and Paget. Also, I have never bad mouthed the RN the actress, nor would I ever, but rather the dreadful and ill- fitting character that she plays on the show, the character the network wrongly assumed would serve as some sort of hybrid for the JJ and Prentiss characters. It was a complete miscalculation on their part.
There have been so many missteps with this show, all unnecessary and all ill- executed. Signing back AJ is a good showing, but until I hear of official news of Gibson and Moore signing contracts I am going to proceed in believing that the network is still jerking Gibson, Moore, and the fans around.

since the "death" of Prentiss in this season i havent really looked forward to season 7. The fact that JJ is coming back makes it better because there's a possibility that Emily will come back as well. If CBS does decide to leave Thomas Gibson and Shemar Moore without a contract i will definetly not watch it, because although reid, rossi, and jj will be there it won't be the same without hotchner or morgan.
You could very well be right, Sandra, but I am optimistic and hope that TG and SM are wisely taking their time. I would think that ensuring their needs are met prior to signing on for another season is IMPERATIVE unless they feel confident that CBS is behind this show (they KNOW what it takes to make this show work) and that Season 7 is shaping up to be like the older seasons: strong and mesmerizing!
I think this show will meet its demise should Shemar and Thomas not be a part of it. They are part of the"meat" of the show. I dont think I would watch it if they were not in it. Their absence would change the show too dramatically.

I'm really getting tired of the back and forth that you are doing with the cast. It's draining! The show is a hit because of the fans but you continue to ignore the fans. No more cast changes! This is beyond ridiculous. Find a new show to tear apart and leave ours alone. CM is a big family and it needs all its pieces. Hotch is my favorite character and if you continue to reduce his role or not bring him back, I'm done. Morgan is an important part of our dynamic also. Give our men new & improved contracts for their hard work. Then bring back Paget.

As many a CM fan will agree season six has been a deplorable season for CM & this without a doubt stems from the changes that have been wrought on CM that have not been needed & completely unnecessary given the standing of this show .. yes ultimately the decisions are going to be made by the TPTB however to try and fix something that didn’t need fixing in the first place was CBS’s first mistake & now the stand off on signing these two crucial cast members will truly be the final nail in the CM coffin.

I don't have a lot more to add, but will say I would have hoped the powers that be learned from last summer's disaster (i.e., firing Ms. Cook & Ms. Brewster). I guess not, huh?
Fans of Criminal Minds don't just watch this show. We are invested in this show. (You can't help it, these people just wear you down until you adore every single one of them.) I have nothing but respect for the entire cast, but I will say that without Mr. Gibson, I just will not watch. Mr. Gibson's portrayal of Aaron Hotchner is the anchor, the heart, the glue... of this show.
PLEASE DO EVERYTHING YOU CAN TO ENSURE THE RETURN OF MR. GIBSON AND MR. MOORE.
I am a Thomas Gibson/Hotch fanatic and I do support Shemar Moore. If they both go and Rachel Nichols stay I will jump off a bridge. Also it would be the end for the show.
I also support both men, not just one, both. Both men have to stay on board! AJ is one piece of the women, the other piece is Paget. Please try and get her back. The show is not the same without her. There is something missing when I watch the show now, part of that is AJ, the other part is Paget. No disrespect to Rachel N., but she just isn't cutting it for me and for others and to try and continue to make apples out of oranges in that regard is doing more harm than good imo. Her characters presence on the show is a constant reminder of how much the dynamic of the show has been badly injured because of how tightly the network screwed the nails into the show. It is so frustrating what has been done to this show, and now this, round two of more cast being positioned to be let go from the show. Why do you insist on kicking this show around every chance that you get? Fix what you broke or there will be nothing left to fix.
The show works because of the interplay between all of the team members which is why the show has felt off because two of those members are not present (JJ and Prentiss). One alone, or even two alone, cannot carry the show, it is the mix of all of them together that make the show outstanding which is why both of these men should be supported in their contract effort. The team of Hotch, Morgan, Rossi, Reid, Garcia, JJ, and Prentiss is magic and everything should be done to get that magic back, not further degrade it.
I have never ever missed an episode of Criminal Minds since it has been on the air. My heart is into this show, I identify with the characters, and feel that they are apart of my family. Criminal Minds is the best show on television hands down, and not working out contracts for Shemar and Thomas would do a great injustice to the fans who love Criminal Minds. I urge you, CBS to sign these Emmy worthy actors, as well as bringing the awesome, and amazingly talented Paget Brewster back into the fold!!! Lets keep Criminal Minds where it belongs, at the top of the ratings chart!!!

Well i think seaver will work in the future on the show there is so much story to tell from this interesting character we haven't even scratched the surface yet.
But bringing in Pretinss would really be implausible. A person like Prentiss with so many skeletons in the closet could never return to the FBI. Also acclaimed dead to the world no FBI unit would hire her again its a fact. Not when you people say this show has to be realistic. so if people can accept her coming back nobody should have any problem accepting Seaver to the team she is just a new agent which is very likely someone in the FBI would school and learn up.
What can i say about Thomas Gibson’s Hotch? He’s the glue that holds the team and the show together. That episode without him was just awful! I hope that you never allow an episode to be written without all characters having a role again! We need so much more hotch than we’ve had lately, he’s missed by all of us fans!

CBS/ABC, I do want to watch Criminal Minds next season, I really do want to see what Erica Messer will do at the helm of CM. I like her idea of focusing a bit more on characters and storylines and arcs! But how can I watch if my favourite character is not back? I did watch ’25 to life, and didn’t like it. It didn’t feel like CM, it was missing something…oh yes it was missing Hotch! Give TG a contract and one for the WHOLE season!

I love TG! I love the way he reaches out to fans! My mom watched Criminal Minds but I only started watching when i saw all of TG’s tweets. His tweet the feet is so funny! Then I found out he’s a great actor and now I’m hooked. More Hotch next season! He’s amazing! You have to sign him! And sign SM too! We fans love ALL our team and for the whole season this time!
Dear CBS, I started watching Criminal Minds after a friend told me if there was one episode I HAD to watch it was the ‘100’ episode. Me not liking procedural ( I still mourn Lost) I took my friend DVD’s and reluctantly watched.
Wow, boy was I in for a wild ride! Great writing and acting, characters driven episode, lots of drama. I became a Hotch fan on the spot. I bought the DVD’s and watched every season since them. Hotch is such a complex character, he got depth. I like his quiet passion, his moral, his loyalty, how his team his like a family. I just love that he tries, and sometime fails ( see his marriage, also trying to save his ex from Foyet), he always tries to do the right things at home and at work.
To me it is just not conceivable that CM could be back next season without Hotch as the central character! If that was to happen I would stop watching because he is the reason I am still watching DESPITE being disappointed by his diminished role. As others have said ‘ we want more Hotch!’
Hope you will re-sign Thomas Gibson back, season 7 will suck way too much without him.

I feel so battle scarred with all of the drama that has ensued behind the scenes with this show. Why can't all have just been left the way that it was? There was no need to change anything. None of the changes have been good. What they have been are contentious, draining, and just plain wrong. Is this what you are setting up with Thomas and Shemar? CBS, what in the hell are you doing? Just give these men a contract and try with all of your beings to get Paget back so that we can proceed with the team that is the best and has brought your network success and the viewers enjoyment.
I used to really look forward to every episode of CM but now I get so stressed... after CBS' taking our ladies, then my favourite character being totally omitted from '25 to Life', I don't know what I'm gonna be hit with next. It is definitely tiresome. I continue to stick with it because I adore TG's Hotch but if he isn't back for the full season next year, count me out. TV is supposed to be my enjoyment, not my stress.

TG is such a great actor, he brings so much to Hotch and CM! He is also great with fans, tweeting pictures from the set, interacting with fans! He’s done much more to promote CM than most of your PR department have done for the whole year!

"Profiler, Profiled" and "The Longest Night" are two of the best episodes of Criminal Minds EVER in my book. Shemar Moore is a fantastic actor who deserved some sort of reward for both. Without him on Criminal Minds, the show loses a whole lot of flavor, and a whole lot of personality. Who will Garcia flirt with? She sure as heck isn't working out on the other show that I don't even watch.
Keep Shemar Moore CBS. He's the biggest asset and the heart, blood, and soul of the show!

I would like to add that Thomas Gibson and Shemar Moore are an important part of the team and without them Criminal Minds (or if CBS is thinking of replacing them which could never be done!!!) will lose a very large fan following (including myself) and I can't see it be around for season 8 even though AJ Cook has a two year contract! Nobody has done more for Criminal Minds than Thomas Gibson. He’s so great to us fans, tweeting like a crazy dude every week and letting us in on the behind the scenes stuff. I pvr’d all his NY interviews and he’s just so cool! I love Hotch too and have missed the lack of him this year, which has been pretty bad. I hate reading TG doesn’t have a contract yet so please fix it. I won’t keep watching next year if i can’t have my weekly fix of my fave gman. I love HOTch!

Shemar Moore has already been paid less than two actors who came on the scene later in the game, and in my humble opinion, it was a bit disrespectful to push down someone who has been there since "Extreme Aggressor."
I personally do not buy into the big name factor. Longevity should earn you a bigger paycheck, not your name.
Shemar Moore and Thomas Gibson should be the stars of the show, in my book. Their names should come first, before the rest, although the entire cast is wonderful.

Hotch is my favourite character not just on CM but on TV! I watch many shows, NCIS, NCIS:LA, CSI:NY, House, Big Bang Theory, Chicago Code, Parenthood, SVU but those show don’t have a great character like Hotch. He is such a great team leader and a great dad too! He is a great role model for single parents who tried to juggle work and parenthood! I cannot imagine CM without Hotch!

Resign Thomas and Shemar, they are both needed and get on the ball with getting Paget back. Seasons 5 and 6 have been turning points in the coming age of the character that is Derek Morgan, and then....no contract? Can we get some sense please?

Look at how long Shemar was with Young and The Restless. From 1994 till 2005.
His tenure on 'Minds hasn't gone that long yet, but with Y&R, he left then came back. He has been solid on Criminal Minds, thus proving he's an asset.
"25 To Life" he carried the show, and the ratings were solid, despite some online opinions that detracted from it. I personally liked it. It's one of those I watch over from time to time. Rossi was in charge. I loved that! He had Morgan's back, as he always does. I loved that even more!
His character has grown from the playful lighthearted agent, to a hardened more passionate almost veteran. He's a former BAU Leader. He knows the terrain. A character THAT important cannot go under the chopping block.
Shemar Moore for Season 7, or I no longer tune into Criminal Minds at 9PM on Wednesday Nights, and will instead watch an old rerun of "Everybody Hates Chris" on Nick At Nite. ;)
In this year, two outstanding astonishing things can happen.
One of them has already happened. We took down Osama Bin Ladin! USA! USA! USA!
Now, the only thing that's left is.....Derek Morgan officially being announced as being a big part of Season 7! Criminal Minds would no longer exist to me if it doesn't happen!
After seeing The Longest Night which was the best Season Premier in the history of Criminal Minds, there's no way someone as bad ass as Morgan can be let go, and me being OK with it.
Derek Morgan is so awesome, HE could have taken down Osama Bin Ladin...SINGLE HANDEDLY! xD
Shemar Moore deserves a contract..a contract that shows appreciation for tenureship.
Him not getting a contract is a slap in the face to Criminal Minds fans all over the world!
What... My heart is struck I finally catch up on all the episodes to find out you might take my favorite characters away. I think i would have to purposely stop watching the show if either of the two was gone. The family created on this show is like growing up to the cosby's. Pls don't break them up.. We've just benn watching too long.

Please realize what a great employee Thomas Gibson is. Everyone who has visited the set says what a consummate professional he is. He gets along great with his coworkers. He golfs with Joe, hooks Kirsten up with gigs, buys MGG Tesla figurines, and asks fans to be nice to Rachel.
He is talented. I mean, just compare his real personality to that of Hotch. It's like night and day!! And yet he is so believable as Hotch. Amazing. He is so kind to his fans and simultaneously provides free advertisement for the show by being a great twitter-er. He is just so funny and so nice to his fans on there!
Not to mention he is just plain sexy.
Please reward a good employee with a good contract. It's the only decent thing to do!
Shemar's been loyal with you guys since the beginning. This is ridiculous!
He loves his work environment, loves his cast, and loves his fans, despite him not wanting to get a Twitter. haha!
He does not deserve to get scrapped, and Morgan is the glue that holds the team together. He provides the protection, the muscle, the occasional brain, and the athleticism to take down and punish the perps. Nobody does it better.

In my opinion, Criminal Minds is the best show on TV. I have not missed one episode & have watched many episodes more than once! Although I watched the show after JJ & Emily left, I will definitely not watch the show if you do not renew contracts for Thomas Gibson & Shemar Moore. Hotch & Morgan are the main characters, and the show cannot survive without them. Aaron Hotchner is my favorite character, and I hope there will be more episodes concerning this character in Season 7. Please do not make the same mistake as last year! If you keep these two characters, CBS will continue to benefit from high ratings for Criminal Minds, but if you cut Thomas Gibson and Shemar Moore ratings will quickly plummet. Renew contracts for these two great actors so fans can enjoy many more years of Criminal Minds. Thanks.

I've already stopped watching without Paget Brewster, so taking these other actors out will definitely not make me rethink my decision. This show has been amazing to CBS and it is constantly getting slap in the face. Please rethink your decisions about our favorite show.
I don't understand how CBS can even think that Criminal Minds can continue on without TG and SM. They've already made the grave mistake of firing AJ Cook and PB and replacing them with a certain terrible character. Please, give us back the team that we all know and love.

I am from Ireland and i am huge fan of this series and its cast they are our extended family on tv i read an interview with Paget and Kirsten yesterday where they said that they were shocked in how this year has played out for them and the show was doing just fine before the cuts and the spin off and how they do not like that Kirsten is working on the new show. i have watached CM since the first season and i love Hotch/Morgan so much they and the rest of the cast are the show Hotch always trys to keep everyone together and Morgan always fights for his friends he is a great leader and big brother to everyone esp Reid and without Morgan there is no Garcia and no show CM has every thing that a show like this needs to surive great cast great storylines and there is no other show like it as Hotch once said to morgan on the show making Morgan temp leader was the only way to keep the team together and taking that away would destroy the show for no reason than to give this new show a hit criminal minds is our family its a great show Morgan and Hotch are great characters and i really hope that after losing Paget that we dont lose anyone else on this amazing show thats loved the world over and that CBS plase read this and take note on the effect of losing these great strong men would have and on the show. As evident as "25 To Life" was, Criminal Minds NEEDS Shemar Moore.
The ratings were solid for the episode and Gibson wasn't even present. Shemar did a wonderful job carrying the episode, and it would be refreshing to see more like it to break from the typical mold.
Shemar Moore HAS to have a contract, and Morgan's role needs to be increased!
If we don't have Hotch/Thomas Gibson for season 7 than I am done with the show. Give the man his contract already.

The ratings were not solid for '25 to life'. Demo 18-49 ( only measure that matter in ratings) was a 3.2 third lowest of the season ( 2.9 and 3.1 were lower) 13.8 million viewers and that was not against American Idol! 'Hanley Water' which was a Hotch episode had 14.081 million viewers 3.6 demo 18-49 and that was against American idol!
BTW CBS never said Thomas would NOT be in the episode! Thomas name with Cade Owens name were still in the credits despite not being in the episode. If CBS had so much confidence that the episode would do well without Thomas why not remove his name from the credits? By leaving his name they had to pay him and Cade. From the ratings result we now know why CBS never made it public that TG would not be there.
That said I do want Shemar back just like Thomas but for me the breaking point is Thomas, No Hotch, No CM!
I have nothing more to say than I will not watch CM without Hotch!
I love all of the team, I want them all back next season but Hotch even more so as he is the one I like a bit more than the others!

This season been a weak one because Hotch was too much in the background but the episodes we had since the start of Paget exit arc are much better as they focus on Emily and Hotch had a stronger presence. I hope we will see more of Hotch in the last episodes of season 6 and next season too!

I can't believe you CBS that you have not signed a talented actor like Thomas Gibson. He is the show and without him the show will die a sad and painful death.
Thomas Gibson has done so much for CM and continues to be stupidly underappreciated by all but the fans. He promotes the show, promotes his fellow actors and yet himself remains humble...just like his character. Season 6 didn't have enough and suffered greatly. I watch because of Hotch and refuse to ever see another Hotchless episode; start treating him like the lead he is and give him his fulltime contract. No Hotch and I will stop watching. No negotiation. No Hotch No CM.
Love all of our male cast and think that we need all of them! Have to stick up for TG though. Hotch is such an amazing character and I want to find out more about him after this season sucked with so little of our UC. Re-sign both men. No Hotch, No CM for me either!

This is getting absolutely stupid. What is CBS thinking? For years I have been a loyal fan and totally addicted to CM. I watch reruns of the reruns.
It is a slap in the face to us the dismantling of a great show. It is hard when a favorite actor leaves the show when it is their decision to move on to bigger and better things. but this isn't the case with CM.
CBS has decided to reward the loyal fans with disappointment, and the tearing apart of a great team. CBS has made money hand over fist from the loyal following and this is how they thank us. WHY?
I know I am tired of being yanked around and that is what it amounts to. For CBS to take this attitude towards the people who made it what it is, I for one won't play that game.
I was crushed when they fired J.J. and can't find any justification for getting rid of Paget B. Now threatening us with getting rid of Gibson and Moore. The charisma of these great actors are what have made the show. They attempt to replace J.J. with the new blonde, I have not even bothered to learn her name, sorry but she just does not bring to the show anything worth watching, seriously, they thought she would be a worthy replacement for J.J.? PLEZZZ
No, if this is how CBS wants to treat us, I am out, I have plenty of the great episodes on DVR to keep me happy and I will find something else to fill that hour of TV viewing. Shame on you CBS.

Gosh! how can you guys be so blind? You splited up a FAMILY, I mean, now u got back AJ, but, I see totally excluded Paget! She HAS to get back, and if you don't have Shemar and Thomas you will just murder the serie! You have to see how much you, and us, would loose. It was a heartbreak seeing AJ gone, I cryed. And knowing that Paget, Shemar & Thomas may not be back, is just UNFAIR! See how much we care! And how much this team needs to be complete, is not fair for them, and us, fans, because we all are a family, so ABC and CBS need to see how much you would loose.

I think that Criminal Minds would not be the same without Gibson or Moore. I have a core-four theory (Morgan, Garcia, Reid and Hotch), if you took any of those characters off the show, people would leave. Those four people make up the show. So please CBS, don't make that mistake, my Wednesday nights would not be the same.
I have hated this season so much because of the lack of our fearless leader Hotch. What the heck is going on with that. If he is not on next season that will be a dealbraker for me.

Uhh, Hanley waters did so well in the ratings not because it was a Hotch episode, but because it was a Post-Prentiss episode where the team was going through grief assessments.
The only parts of that episode I enjoyed were the beginning and end scenes. I DVR'd it and skipped through most of the middle because there wasn't enough Morgan for me to actually watch it.
We need more of him!
I'm not watching Criminal Minds without my Derek Morgan. I could hardly keep interest the first three seasons, and my interest picked up the past two.

nice try, the week following 'hanley water' was 'The Stranger' another Episode with lots of Hotch and it had a 3.5 against American Idol. For that week CM was the second most popular show on CBS after NCIS.

Some just watch the show for the show, the unsubs, and the profiling. Hotch isn't everything.

Yes CM lost 0.1 in the demo but the competition was AI and Modern family which '25 to life' never had to face. numbers are numbers and a focused episode on morgan didn't do as well, with weak competitions as with episodes that focused on Hotch wich did face the toughest competition in TV.
that said, I do love CM and all the characters but like you I do have my favorite it is Hotch, don't mean I don't like Morgan or don't want him back. I hope they all come back including Paget.

This could turn into a numbers war or debate, and I could ask you to check your sources, but you favor Hotch. Why should I believe you? Show me numbers for "Profiler, Profiled," "The Longest Night," and other Morgan episodes.
Don't use the ratings to slam Morgan because Hotch is your favorite.
That's all I'm saying. We're all entitled to our favorites, but stop acting like one makes the show. They all do. We just have our favorites.
I don't care about ratings. I'm drawn to characters. This has been my family for the past 6 years, and we all have our favorite family members, right? Mine is Morgan. I'll be devastated if he gets cut. Thomas needs a contract too, but I'll be even angrier if Shemar gets cut and couldn't stomach to watch the show anymore without Derek. :(
