Criminal Minds: While we were finishing up lunch on day two, Simon Mirren came to visit. Our gifts to Simon were a british sports team jersey and some other goodies. Simon is the kind of guy that you could listen to talk all night and not even realize it. He’s as gifted a verbal storyteller as he is a written one. He told us tales of his time writing for TV in Britain and stories about how his aunt Helen had once surprisingly guest-starred on Ed’s previous show Third Watch. When we started talking about his chillingly memorable first season ep THE FOX, he explained that it had been inspired by a real story. While he spoke, you could have heard a pin drop. He was memorizing and charismatic. The only disappointment of his time with us came when he left the room.
