CRIMINAL MINDS: KIRSTEN VANGSNESS ENGAGED & WE SAW THE RING!
Criminal Minds: As reported in People magazine Kirsten Vangsness, Garcia on Criminal Minds, is engaged to Melanie Goldstein. Yesterday Kirsten showed us her engagement ring and talked to us about her very unique ring decision. The ring is unique and beautiful, just like Kirsten!
Criminal Minds' Kirsten Vangsness will be walking down the aisle this spring after getting engaged to longtime girlfriend Melanie Goldstein, the actress tells PEOPLE.com exclusively.
"I never thought I would want to do it," says Vangsness, who plays computer expert Penelope Garcia on the CBS drama. "Then when you meet the person, you're like, 'I want to marry you. I don't care if there's a law against it!'"

CRIMINAL MINDS TRIP
Criminal Minds: Yesterday Laura and Lori posted for me on the blog because my computer seems to not like the internet connections available in LA. I think we fixed the problem now and I hope to be able to blog a bit. We are having a terrific time being with each other, sharing laughs and getting to know each other. There is lots of Criminal Minds news to share but that might have to wait until I get home. Here are some of the highlights:
1. We're all thrilled for Amanda Bernero who is pregnant. Another little Criminal Minds member is coming! Mazel Tov to Amanda and her husband. The baby will be Ed and Barbara's first grandchild. Congrats to them as well.
2. Our writers have made us feel right at home. They have been so gracious with their time and it has been fantastic getting to know them better. We saw a few minutes of "Omnivore", written by Andrew Wilder, in post production and all I can say is WOW! Also, Rick Dunkle showed me some pics from his upcoming episode and ALSO wow. Simon Mirren, who I simply could listen to for hours, yes his accent is that wonderful, filled us in on his upcoming episode in graphic detail and we watched them film a few scenes. No, we are not sharing the spoiler info but it is going to be a wonderful episode!
3. I've spent the last two days watching the faces of the members of our group as they've met Ed, Simon, Deb, Erica, Andrew, the other writers and the cast and it has been great to see their excitement and smiles. I wonder if I had that look of awe on my face when I met them for the first time a few years ago. For me this visit has seemed like going to visit family. Some new members to get to know but family one and all.
Pictures to come soon! I promise to delete this boring post and replace it with something better soon. We are off to visit hotels and I am out of time.

CRIMINAL MINDS PROMO FOR "DEMONOLOGY"
Criminal Minds promo for DEMONOLOGY written by Chris Mundy, directed by Edward Allen Bernero and starring Joe Mantegna, Thomas Gibson, Paget Brewster, Shemar Moore, A.J. Cook, Matthew Gray Gubler and Kirsten Vangsness.
Overnight Ratings
Overnight Ratings For Wednesday February 25th- Pleasure Is My Business
Repeats of CBS sitcoms The New Adventures of Old Christine (Viewers: #3, 5.83 million; A18-49: #4, 1.5/ 4) and compatible Gary Unmarried (Viewers: #3, 6.00 million; A18-49: #4, 1.7/ 4) lost steam, of course, in the 8 p.m. hour. But Eye net crime dramas Criminal Minds (Viewers: #2, 13.98 million; A18-49: #3, 3.4/ 8) and CSI: NY (Viewers: #1, 12.69 million; A18-49: #1, 3.2/ 8) successfully bounced back from 9-11 p.m. Keep in mind, of course, that Criminal Minds also faced ABC’s Lost, which clearly makes it a “winner.”
LA NOTES
Hello from LA. We are enjoying our time in LA. We have been researching hotels and checking out attractions and potential activities. We will have more for you soon!

CRIMINAL MINDS GODDESS KIRSTEN VANGSNESS BLOGS!!
February 23, 2009
So I’m at work, see... like--three, four weeks ago or something. And Andrew Wilder, the writer-- (and I am so not kissing his ass--this is just true-and I may be repeating myself here but- he is CUTE. Come to think of it, all of those writers in our office are cute. The writers assistants are all gorgeous in their our right too, I’m not kidding at all about this. Seriously, there’s a lot of cute mojo swimming around the land that is CriMi) Andrew-- he starts talking about the fans and such and I start talking about the blogging and the missing of the blogging and such and then we are both talking about the fans and the blogging....it was a perfect storm. And here I am.
Hello. My name is Kirsten. May I sometimes write stuff and send it semi-regularly to y’all who moderate this sweet fan site and can you please put it up when you want to?
Cool.
I was gonna start blogging on my own or something but I got distracted. Does that happen to others besides me? Where you make a plan, sometimes like a BIG plan (one of mine as of late besides the “re-start CM/KV blog” has been to make this dress involving a t-shirt and ribbons and requires me to learn how to sew better.....)and then it just, sort of stops after the planning part because it all seems too daunting and you start getting all perfectionist-y....does that happen to you? Yeah, me too. But there is hope for us all, young friends, because here I am, doing something I planned on. Ribbon-y T-Shirt dress of Wonder, here I come.
So, we are in the middle of shooting a Simon Mirren script (again, GORGE. And SUCH a writer, which makes him all the handsomer, and his ACCENT. Do not even get me started on the accent. Yummy. I love my girlfriend but DAMN.) . Jeeze, I’m so teenage flirt queen today, what is up with me? ANYWAY. We are in the middle of an episode. I get to go away from my cave and be with the gang in this, which is always super delish. I have gotten a considerable number of script pages with Garcia’s name slathered upon them since our winter break. And the other six merry men and woman in the cast are as kind and strange and beautiful as ever (there must be something in the studio water....they are all so pretty and wonderful to me. Really though, it’s just the love. All the love, it makes people pretty. And I clearly have a lot of love coursing through me as I type....and caffeine, a lot of caffeine....DC time it is not:)
I have lines to learn right now. I’m doing a benefit for a wonderful organization called 826LA tonight. It’s a wonderful non-profit that supports students ages 6-18 with their writing skills in all kinds of great ways. I get to do a sketch with Laraine Newman from SNL AND Buck Henry. So. Awesome.
And here is me (note Evil Genius Grin) and my barnacle.
I will do this again. Soon. Really. Really. Really.
Love,
Kirsten

CRIMINAL MINDS WEEKEND NOTES:
Criminal Minds: Happy Saturday to everyone! I have just a few new items and a few reminders from the moderators to share with you today. First, thank you to Oanh Ly for the wonderful chat yesterday. Oanh is a delight in the chat room and her episodes are always fan favs. "Zoe's Reprise" is one of my favorite episodes so far this season and judging from the poll and the number of chatters from outside the US who woke up in the middle of the night to chat with Oanh, I'm assuming that I am not alone in my appraisal of the episode.
This Wednesday we are adding a new twist to our chats. The "Crim-a-con" planning committee will be watching "Pleasure Is My Business" at the Criminal Minds studio at the invitation of Ed Bernero and Breen Frazier. I am happy to say that many of the show's writers will be joining us. After the episode airs we will be hosting a NOT TO BE MISSED chat. Please email Laura or Debbie at cmfchat@gmail.com for the password.
The pens for Kirsten project is now officially over. I will take a pic of the wonderful collection of pens prior to delivering them. Pens from around the world. What a great way of thanking Kirsten for her wonderful portrayal of Penelope Garcia.
I've received over 500 emails to date asking me if I have any idea of what Ed has planned for the 100th episode. I don't have a clue and I would remind everyone that our 100th isn't until next season. We are just now at 81. Take a deep breath everyone! Lets let them finish season four before we start nagging them about season five.
Also, NO, I don't know anything about the casting, stories or content of "Washington Field". I know what you know. I think it is terrific that CM fans are excited about Ed's next project and I promise that when I know something that I will share the info with the group. If I have the opportunity to discuss the new show with him then I will find out what I can and report back to everyone.
Lastly, Please remember we are still collecting donations for Kim's American Heart Association marathon. New auctions will be starting on Monday.
Have a great weekend everyone! Great new episodes coming our way! Lots to love in Criminal Minds land. :)

CRIMINAL MINDS: CLEVELAND
Criminal Minds: Here is a link to an article about "Zoe's Reprise" being set in Cleveland. "Zoe's Reprise" stars Joe Mantegna, Thomas Gibson, Paget Brewster, Shemar Moore, A.J. Cook, Matthew Gray Gubler, Kirsten Vangsness and was written by Oanh Ly.
"In the Cleveland-centric "Criminal Minds'' episode, the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit of ace profilers, led by David Rossi (Joe Mantegna) and Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson), is on the trail of a copycat serial killer. And this is the plot point that will just kill you: the sly slayer is employing the gruesome techniques used by famous murderers.
Titled "Zoe's Reprise'' and written by series story editor Oanh Ly, the episode features guest stars Amy Davidson (as Zoe).
Charles S. Carroll, a producer on the crime drama in its fourth season, is in the director's chair for this episode. "Criminal Minds'' currently ranks No. 10 among all network shows. The only dramas with more viewers this season are three other CBS crime shows: "C.S.I.,'' "NCIS'' and "The Mentalist.''
To make their version of Cleveland more authentic, the producers of "Criminal Minds'' sought some positive direction from Positively Cleveland, the Convention and Visitors Bureau of Greater Cleveland. The production office was sent posters, Cleveland Plus stickers and official visitors guides, said Samantha Fryberger, Positively Cleveland's director of communications."

CRIMINAL MINDS: TRUE TO LIFE
Criminal Minds was included in a very interesting article about TV and crime. Here is an excerpt and the link:
It's a sentiment that's shared by the folks at CBS's creepy "Criminal Minds," which consistently features the twisted minds of serial killers at work. Creator Edward Allen Bernero, a former Chicago cop, draws from cases suggested by consultants, found on the Web or gleaned from the pages of "Sex Related Homicide and Death Investigation" or "Practical Homicide Investigation" - textbooks so horrific that producer Simon Mirren moves them to his car before going to bed.
However, "they're so different by the time that they make it to the air that I don't think anybody would realize what [the origins] were," Bernero says. "I'm not interested in ripped from the headlines because there are victims to those things, it's not just about the bad guys."
Which is why fans who enjoyed Jason Alexander's turn as a narcissistic serial killer whose MO involved videotaping women trapped in an underground bunker before killing them and dumping their bodies probably didn't know that the character was modeled after California duo Charles Ng and Leonard Lake.
Or why later this month, when you watch "Criminal Minds" episodes about exorcism fatalities and a killer who starts up again after a lengthy hiatus, you'll only see traces of their original cases: and "Robbie Doe," the Washington, DC, boy on whom "The Exorcist" movie was based and the Zodiac Killer.
