CRIMINAL MINDS: NOTE FROM DEBRA J. FISHER
Criminal Minds: Here is a thank you note from Deb Fisher for the birthday present that the Criminal Minds Fanatic moderators sent her for her special day. Happy Birthday, Deb!
Dear Fanatics:
I'm sitting at my desk on the most loveliest of days eating a very ripe pear and looking at my gorgeous flowers. It definitely lightens the mood as Erica and I contemplate our next Gruesome Twosome episode. What better way to talk about serial killers, than with fruit and flowers!
Thank you to all the fans for thinking of me on my special day. Your support of us and the show is a blessing and very, very much appreciated. You put a very big smile on my face.
Best always,
Debbie

Wil was awesome and donated an autographed copy of his new book for us to auction. :)

CRIMINAL MINDS: SHEMAR MOORE TALKS SPORTS.
Criminal Minds: Shemar Moore, Derek Morgan on Criminal Minds, talked sports at the CBS TV Critics party.
“Criminal Minds” hunk Shemar Moore, whose family lives in West Roxbury, said he was sooo happy that the Boston Celtics won the NBA Championship because the L.A. transplant needed to be “welcomed back into the house” in the Hub.
“The Patriots may have choked but the Celtics made up for it,” Moore told us the other day during a bash CBS threw for TV critics at Boulevard 3 in Hollywood.
“I was born in Oakland and live in L.A., but all I wanted was to see seven games - make it close - and then have the Celtics win,” said the TV detective whose mom was raised in Brighton. “It was so cool.”
During the drama’s last hiatus, Moore said he came to Boston and did all the “very simple stuff” like go to ballgames and eat at Friendly’s and Kelly’s Roast Beef.
“If it’s real regular, that’s what I love.”

CRIMINAL MINDS FANATIC'S QUESTION OF THE DAY:
Criminal Minds: The BAU closes a case but bad weather keeps them from flying back to Quantico. They decide to play poker. David Rossi (Joe Mantegna), Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson), Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore), Emily Prentiss (Paget Brewster) and Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) are all great profilers and might seem to have an advantage over J.J. (AJ Cook) and Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) but don't sell the gals short. They are sharp at bluffing and reading people in different ways than the profilers. So who wins? And why?
CRIMINAL MINDS: "HONOR" EARNS HONORABLE OVERNIGHT RATINGS. NEXT UP IS "DAMAGED"!!
Criminal Minds: "Honor Among Thieves" posted good Nielsen overnight ratings. Next episode is "Damaged" which should kick it up another notch!
A two-hour episode of “So You Think You Can Dance” averaged 8.4 million viewers on Wednesday from 8 to 10 p.m., helping make Fox No. 1 in the ratings for the night, according to Nielsen’s estimates. Although CBS’s 9 o’clock repeat of “Criminal Minds” delivered an audience the same size, CBS ranked second for the night because of lower ratings at 8 for “Big Brother” (6.3 million). CBS led at 10 with a repeat of “CSI: NY” (7.6 million), outpacing both ABC’s “Primetime: Crime” (6.2 million) and NBC’s rerun of “Law & Order” (4.6 million). ABC was third for the night with repeats of “Wife Swap” at 8 (4 million) and “Supernanny” at 9 (3.8 million). NBC finished fourth with the summer reality series “The Baby Borrowers” at 9 (4.7 million), which followed a rerun of that series at 8 (3.2 million).

Paget Brewster's flowers didn't make it to the studio yesterday but I've been promised that they will be delivered today. Also, Deb Fisher, whose birthday is in a few days, is scheduled to get her birthday present today from the moderators. Deb was sent the fruit and plant basket you see pictured above. Fingers crossed that they don't send her rotting fruits. Our luck hasn't been the best with birthday deliveries this month.
There are four Kim Harrison Aids Marathon auctions ending this afternoon. Please get your final bids in before the deadline. We will be auctioning off more Criminal Minds items over the weekend for this worthy cause. Thank you to Ed Bernero for his generousity in providing us with the items that enable us to be a part of this wonderful fundraiser. Aids is such a serious problem all over the globe. Congrats already to Kim for being able to run miles every week in the California sun to train for the marathon.
Happy Birthday to CMF moderator Phoenix. Nina is always one of the first people to volunteer for any project we undertake and I sincerely thank her for that and wish her a very Happy Birthday.
The Criminal Minds Fanatic groups will be holding a weekend chat on Sunday at 3pm est. The password is still enya.
If you haven't already pre-ordered your season three dvds then nows the time. Amazon has dropped the price a couple of bucks so order now and lock in at the lower price.

CRIMINAL MINDS: VERY VERY BELATED! ~ FLORIST DELAYED DELIVERY UNTIL THURSDAY!
Criminal Minds: The moderators for the Criminal Minds Fanatic message board only recently started sending birthday gifts to our Criminal Minds actresses and writers and it was pointed out that we started after Paget Brewster's birthday. Tomorrow she should be receiving a dozen orange roses as a very very belated birthday present. It took three attempts before Kirsten received an actual live set of flowers. Luckily we had no problems with AJ's delivery. Fingers crossed that tomorrow a dozen dead roses don't show up at the studio!
Thank you to the moderators for the suggestion. Paget continues to do terrific work on the show. When she first joined the cast the reception she received from the show's fans was at best luke warm and now she is beloved by all. I can't imagine the show without this terrific actress! So fingers crossed everyone and thank you to the Criminal Minds Fanatic moderators for the wonderful suggestion.
NOBODY FROM THE CRIMINAL MINDS STUDIO ALLOWED!
CRIMINAL MINDS: DON'T TAKE CBS OFF YOUR SPEED DIAL!!
Criminal Minds: According to Variety Online, SAG has rejected the AMPTP's final contract offer (we'll see how final it really is!)and now the AMPTP and SAG are at a impasse. "The lack of resolution of SAG's contract has slowed down but not completely stopped major feature production. TV production has been largely unaffected." Those of you that had Les Moonves' phone number programed into your phones during the WGA strike might want to keep it there until this situation is resolved. Hopefully there won't be a strike. When the WGA strike ended Les was given a very generous pay and incentive bonus. The amount is so disgustingly high that I'm not even going to post it. To quote Nikki Finke, "It would make you vomit in your mouth a little bit".

"The awards were led by Were the World Mine, which won Outstanding US Dramatic Feature. The film focuses on an all-boys school production of A Midsummer Night's Dream (and for those Twin Peaks fans out there, the crazy Nadine, Wendy Robie, pops up). On the international side of things is the excellent XXY, which I reviewed from TIFF last year. It is no surprise that this film nabbed the Best International Dramatic Feature prize, to add to its ever-growing list of nominations and wins. It's really, really worth your time."

CRIMINAL MINDS: MATTHEW GRAY GUBLER ATTENDED THE AGENT PROVOCATEUR FASHION SHOW IN JUNE
Criminal Minds: Matthew Gray Gubler (Dr. Spencer Reid on Criminal Minds) at the Provocateur Fashion show in Berlin in June. I think Dr. Spencer Reid would faint or have a heart attack if two women dressed like this approached him!
"Model and actor Matthew Gray Gubler attended the Agent Provocateur Fashion Show at Galeries Lafayette department store in Berlin, Germany Friday night.
Gubler, best known for his role as as Dr. Spencer Reid on the CBS television show “Criminal Minds,” was surrounded by beautiful models in skimpy lingerie as they strutted the season’s latest luxurious fashions."

CRIMINAL MINDS WEEKEND UPDATE:
Criminal Minds: The Criminal Minds Conversation Yahoo group and the Criminal Minds Fanatic message board have scheduled a CM chat for Sunday, July 20th at 3pm est. The password is still enya.
Kim's Aid Marathon: We have a winner in our first and second donation contests. As we said in the original posts, the first winner will be announced on Deb Fisher's birthday and the second on Andrew Wilder's birthday. We have met Kim's original pledge which is totally awesome. Thank you everyone BUT we still remain behind a runner from another CBS show in total donations and we have until September to have our runner Kim represent Criminal Minds as #1 in total donations. We have definately closed the margin this week but they are now actively competing with us so we have to keep it up and get into first place and STAY there. Thanks to the generousity of Ed Bernero, the writers and fans who have donated auction items, I know we can do this! It is for such a worthy cause and Criminal Minds deserves bragging rights. We're the best and we all know it!
There are four active auctions on this blog right now to raise donations for the Aids Marathon and I will be adding more over the weekend!
The Actors Fund auctions are off to an amazing start. A dozen or more new items will be added to that site every week so please check it often. I am thrilled to say that Ed, the writers and even some of our guest stars have sent items and you would not believe the amount of items pouring in from other showrunners, actors, writers, musicians and crews from other shows. The donation committee has done an amazing job and while it is strange for me to be working on this project with non-CM people I am happy to report that there has been nothing but harmony and incredible mutual respect by all involved.
Counting the days until Season Four and hope you are too. It is not too early to start finding more converts so be on the lookout for non watching potential fans!
Have a great weekend everyone! CM is on A&E tonight. Don't forget to watch.
CRIMINAL MINDS: WIL WHEATON FEELS THE CM LOVE:
Criminal Minds: I love it when guest stars blog about their experiences working on Criminal Minds. I especially like it when they appreciate the incredible job the Criminal Minds writers, cast and crew do to give us a quality show. Wil is a fellow blogger. Here are some excerpts from his blog and the web address so you can read more:
Here is what he had to say about our "Gruesome Twosome" (you have to appreciate anyone who appreciates our Deb and Erica)
"The script's been rewritten a few times since I first read it, and I've been able to read each draft in its entirety, which has been really interesting to me as a writer, as I track the changes and try to figure out what network and studio notes they were intended to address. It's got to be so difficult for these writers to take a certain scene or character in one direction, write really great dialog and stuff to get them there, and then be told that they have to throw it all away and take things in a different direction. And do that three times in five days. I honestly don't know how they do it."
Here is a portion of his latest entry. The man sounds like an utter sweetie. Great job by April Webster and Scott David in casting him. Ed, can we keep him?
We've been shooting nights this week on Criminal Minds, and I've worked every single day, which doesn't leave any time to write, or do much of anything else. I got home at 4 this morning, didn't fall asleep until 5, and then had to explain to my dogs that, no, just because I was in bed and the sun was coming up, I'm not interested in getting up to do stuff with them.
So I only got to sleep for seven disturbed hours, and I feel like I'm on the road to Bat Country right now. Luckily for me, I don't go to set until 5:30 tonight, and I don't have any dialog today.
Despite the havoc the last few days have unleashed on my body (which is very confused by the hours I'm forcing it to keep, and [spoiler]) I have loved every second of the experience.
I'm keeping a production diary, which I can't release until my episode airs in October, but I can safely say that working on this show, with this cast and crew, creating this character, has reawakened my slumbering love of acting. I'll have more to say about that when I can really analyze how I feel about it and why. (short short version: I miss the camaraderie of being in a cast, and I'd forgotten how good it feels to discover interesting moments with the director, writers, and other actors. I work best while collaborating, it seems.)

CRIMINAL MINDS: MATTHEW GRAY GUBLER & GALAXIE MAGAZINE!
Criminal Minds: Matthew Gray Gubler was on the cover of Galaxie Magazine this month. It is not too late to buy a copy!
"You wouldn’t necessarily notice from the roles they play (because they embody geek so well) but Galaxie has uncovered, and identified, four heartthrobs who have downplayed their looks beneath thick-rimmed glasses and pocket protectors for the sake of their art.
Lee Pace (Pushing Daises), Matthew Gray Gubler (Criminal Minds), Christopher Gorham (Ugly Betty) and Zachary Levi (Chuck) are featured on the cover of Galaxie’s July 1 issue as they normally appear on TV but inside, Galaxie reveals the hunky truth behind these stars."

So we have to reverse profile.” The episode’s slated to kick off November sweeps." -Michael Ausiello for EW

CRIMINAL MINDS CONVENTION UPDATE:
Criminal Minds: I wanted to take a moment and update everyone on the status of the first Criminal Minds convention tentatively scheduled for the end of June or first week in July. Because Criminal Minds fans live all over the globe it has been impossible to find a month that will please everyone based on the overwhelming emails of interest we have received. A very small committee, representing various Criminal Minds groups, is traveling to LA the last week in Feb. to book a hotel and to plan an itinerary based on the meeting rooms we find and the tourist attractions that we find that meet the limited financial budget that several people have asked us to be sensitive to. Ed Bernero, the Executive Producer of Criminal Minds, will be popping into the convention in 2009 at some point which is exciting and several of the writers have also expressed their desire to meet the CM fans attending.
Lori, the Co-Mod of the Criminal Minds Conversation Yahoo group, Debbie, moderator on the Criminal Minds Fanatic message board as well as Lee's wonderful MGG site, and Phoenix, moderator on the CMF message board are working hard to pre-plan as much as they can before our Feb visit. For more info please feel free to email them at loripppls@msn.com or Spymama6863@gmail.com
Now let me answer some of the generic questions I have had emailed to me: No, you do not need to be a member of the Criminal Minds Fanatic message board or Yahoo group to attend the convention. You just need to want to attend! Yes, we realize that those of you traveling from Europe and beyond will want to stay in LA for more days than the convention lasts since you are traveling so far and we are going to pick a hotel that is available for you to continue living in after/before the convention begins. Yes, we can help match you up with a roommate if you need to share a room to save money. Yes, there will probably be scholarship funds for those who may need a bit of financial help. I will know more about this at a later time. Right now the charity committee is committed to making sure that Kim Harrison is #1 in donations for her Aids Marathon but that fundraiser is over in September. The committee raising money in Rick Dunkle's name to benefit the Red Cross has a goal of $7,500 and they are about a third of the way there, so that needs to be accomplished. Criminal Minds fans are helping with the Actors Fund Assistance Fund but that won't affect our ability to raise funds. Once Kim and Rick's charities are completed we can start raising funds for those that need help. Once again our wonderful and generous friends, Allie and Maura, have pledged to help start that fund with $500 so we will need to wait and see what we can do concerning convention assistance.
You now know as much as I know! :)

CRIMINAL MINDS: A.J. COOK & NO DEAD FLOWERS
Criminal Minds star A.J. Cook (JJ) will be celebrating her birthday on July 22nd. Given the fiasco that the Criminal Minds moderators went through trying to get live flowers sent to Kirsten Vangsness (Garcia on Criminal Minds) for her birthday, I decided to start early and I used a different company. It took three deliveries over the course of several days for Kirsten to receive a live batch of flowers. Lets hope that we have better luck getting live flowers in a timely manner to wonderfully talented A.J. and future momma of our first CM baby! A.J. hasn't announced whether she is expecting a boy or a girl but I have a feeling so the arrangement that I picked is called "Pink Blush".
CRIMINAL MINDS "ASHES & DUST" CHAT WITH ANDREW WILDER
Criminal MInds: The Criminal Minds Conversation Yahoo group and the Criminal Minds Fanatic message board are happy to be hosting a chat with Andrew Wilder on Wednesday, July 16th at 10pm est directly following the airing of "Ashes & Dust". The password for the chat room will be changed Tuesday night so please email if you want the new password.
CRIMINAL MINDS GUEST STAR: SEAN O'BRYAN
Criminal Minds: "Ashes and Dust" has two guest stars. One of them is Sean O'Bryan who had some additional camera shots and a small scene left to shoot the day I was on the set. The particular set they were shooting on when Sean arrived was very small so if you wanted to watch the scene you were literally standing behind the director and continuity person in little more than a hallway. There were lots of people in that tiny hallway but Sean has a presence. Let me get the fangirl stuff over with first. The man is extremely good looking. Makes you stare good looking. Okay, done with that. He already knew who I was and why I was on the set and the conversation quickly turned to how he was also a huge fan of the show and was so happy about being one of the guest stars. I asked him if it would be alright if I wrote about him on this blog and he agreed. My first lesson early that morning was that you always ask. We talked about tv and the cast and crew of Criminal Minds while Thomas, Shemar and Paget were shooting a scene and then it was Sean's turn. The man can act. I mean he has game. I wish we could keep him permanately. For more information on Sean please check his website: http://www.seanobryan.com/ or http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0639917/

CRIMINAL MINDS: A MESSAGE FROM ED BERNERO:
Criminal Minds Executive Producer Ed Bernero checks in with the Criminal Minds Fanatics:
Hey Fanatics!
Ed Bernero here. Just want to tell you all how excited we are with the upcoming season. We had a great read-thru today of our fourth episode (written by Deb and Erica) and it's the last day filming our third (written by Andrew) so we are definitely off and running.
We're pretty excited about the things we're doing and I think you are all going to be excited as well. The cast is, as always, doing amazing work and the scripts just get scarier and scarier. Then there's the crew, who have always been great but this year are practically performing miracles. Seriously, there doesn't seem to be anything we ask of them that they can't do better than we hoped.
I read the reaction to the spinoff questions. Let me clarify that there are always discussions about spinoffs of shows but that there is no deal in place to make one and we don't even know yet what form a spinoff would take if we did do one. One thing we all agree on -- the show, the studios and the network -- is that we love Criminal Minds and wouldn't do anything to damage it.
I can't wait for September to roll around so we can get back on the air and you can start seeing eps again. Thanks for still talking about us and still thinking about us over the summer.
All the Best --
Ed
CRIMINAL MINDS: A NOTE FROM KIRSTEN VANGSNESS!
Criminal Minds: Kirsten posted this message on her birthday thread but I'm reposting it here so everyone can see it. Thanks to Kim the only flowers Kirsten saw were the live ones. I think they put the other two sets in the Criminal Minds writers room.
YOU GUYS!!!!
Thank you soooo much for my roses!!! They are totally gorgeous and I am staring at them right now (when I am not typing I am staring at them, when I am typing, I am staring at the keyboard of my mac, because, unlike sweet Garcia- I have to look when I type:)
I did have quite a blissful birthday, I am firm believer in the "birthday week" so it's still going strong, thank you very much. Every year me and my friends have a lip sync party where my gift is that they lip sync a song- I highly recommend this kind of party- it's a great mix of terror and joy.
I worked on my birthday but I truly couldn't think of a better place to be than there. We just had a read thru today of our next script, it's written by Erica and Deb true to their demented, gorgeous brains, it's totally spooky. We also have some kick-ass guest stars coming up...not gonna say who- but I was SUPER EXCITED today when I saw who is in this episode!!!
You guys are the best. Thank you so much for supporting us, for loving us so completely, for helping Kimberly(she's a running machine!), for helping the actors fund, for staying involved, for other stuff that I don't know about that you do in your personal life that you should be thanked for, and for my totally awesome birthday gift.
I am grateful for you friends.
Love,
Kirsten
CRIMINAL MINDS GUEST STAR CHANDLER CANTERBURY
Criminal Minds: Chandler Canterbury who guest starred in Criminal Minds episode "In Birth and Death" has just completed filming a new movie, "Knowing" with Nicholas Cage. The promo looks great and congrats to Chandler for starring in the movie.
CRIMINAL MINDS UPDATE!
Criminal Minds Family: Wow! What a difference a day makes. Keep those donations for Kim rolling in. We are making a lot of progress today!!! Criminal Minds rocks and so does its fans. We are sooooooooooo going to be #1 in donations. A special thank you to the donor who wishes to remain anonymous for the $750 donation they sent to my paypal for me to donate. You rock hard! Lets keep it up everyone.
Also, thank you so much to all the people who have and continue to donate to the Red Cross in honor of Rick Dunkle (WA on Criminal Minds). The Criminal Minds moderator incharge of that assistance fund sent me an email yesterday telling me that we are almost at the $1,800 mark which is fantastic. Mother nature left a mess so whatever we can do to help people rebuild their lifes is great.
Remember as well that the multi-fandom blog to aid the Actors Fund is up and running and adding new items every few days. Thank you to ALL the showrunners, writers, actors and crew who have dug in their closets and contributed items for auction. While I am not incharge of gathering item donations I have touched those at Criminal Minds that I felt comfortable emailing and ALL of them have said they will also donate items from the various shows they have worked on. Unknowingly the donations committee reached out to an actor (can't tell you who yet) that not only offered a very special item as a donation but informed them that he is actually filming on Criminal Minds next week. Terrific!
The next Criminal Minds chat is on Sunday. Ashes and Dust airs next Wednesday and I will email Andrew Wilder and see if he is available to spend a few minutes chatting with us after it airs. I know the writers are backed up busy right now but you never know unless you ask. Erica Messer and Deb Fisher start shooting their next episode in a few days. That is exciting news. The "Gruesome Twosome" never fail to delight!
I'm told that the production crew enjoyed the chocolate yesterday and that Kirsten received one of the MANY sets of flowers the moderators sent her. What a nightmare that was!
CRIMINAL MINDS: JASON ALEXANDER IS PAYING US A VISIT.
"Jason Alexander has booked a killer (ha!) guest stint on CBS’ Criminal Minds. “It’s a really crazy role,” says executive producer Ed Bernero. “He's going to come in and turn himself in, but we have no idea who his victims are. So we have to reverse profile.” The episode’s slated to kick off November sweeps." -Michael Ausiello for EW
**I am turning off comments on this post.

CRIMINAL MINDS DOESN'T LOSE TO OTHER SHOWS!
Criminal Minds Family: When I called in my monthly contribution to Kim Harrison's Aids Marathon today, I asked them how Kim's total was stacking up against the other runners. We're doing great raising donations for Kim but she is $1,868 behind the leader (who is running and works on another show). Criminal Minds beat "Lost" and we beat "Private Practice" and we really can beat whoever this person is. When Kim runs her marathon wearing her Criminal Minds headband, she should do so as the leader in donations. I would say she should also be number one across the finish line but that is a VERY long marathon and just finishing it will be a triumph.
We have a winner for the donation auction from last week for the handcuffs and we will announce that person's name on Deb Fisher's birthday since that is the date we used in the contest.
Lets kick it up one more notch and get our Criminal Minds runner into first place! Andrew Wilder's birthday is on August 19th and he has been "Lucky" for us before so lets use his birthday as our next benchmark. By August 19th lets have Kim in first place. I will call the Aids Marathon office on the morning of AW's birthday and the person who made the donation that put Kim into first place (and lets hope that happens tomorrow) will win this Criminal Minds cap that has been autographed by the Criminal Minds writers!
No donation is too small! The winner of the handcuffs was kind enough to donate $5 and she won! Every dollar helps those who need it most. We can do this!
Nobody beats Criminal Minds (except that Idol show and that doesn't really count)!
CRIMINAL MINDS MODERATORS SAY IT WITH CHOCOLATE & LOTS OF DEAD FLOWERS!
Criminal Minds: The moderators of the Criminal Minds Fanatic message board sent a chocolate birthday card to the CM studio to celebrate all the July birthdays (Thomas Gibson, Kirsten Vangsness, A.J. Cook and Deb Fisher). I used a new floral company to send Kirsten Vangsness, Garcia on Criminal Minds, flowers for her birthday. I forgot to ask this company if they use a local florist and they don't. So lightening over Salt Lake City postponed them, then they offered to also send a fresh batch to arrive today to makeup for the dead flowers she was going to receive and then, if things already weren't screwed up enough, there was a weather problem with the second set and they aren't being delivered until tomorrow. So lets do the math. Birthday was Monday, receiving dead flowers on Wed and another set of dead flowers scheduled for delivery on Thursday. I wasn't happy and this time a local florist was called in by the company, that seems to have the worst weather problems in the history of flowers, and I have been informed that today Kirsten received one dead and one live set of flowers. Tomorrow more dead ones arrive. Luckily Kirsten is a classy lady with a great sense of humor. ;)
So Happy Birthday all week Kirsten. Maybe the props department can use a couple dozen dead roses for an episode. Recycle! Happy Birthday and next year we promise to use a local florist. :)
