When Matthew Gray Gubler (Dr. Spencer Reid on Criminal Minds) opened his box full of presents the first thing he found was the socks that a fan had knit for him. You will see many more sock pictures as my adventure continues. He loved them. :)
omg! I'm so glad you liked them! thank you Jill so much for doing this for all of this! oh boy! I look forward to seeing the rest of the sock pics and all the other great things others sent along!
I think it's Jan's fault, but looking at this picture -- on the weekend of Dr. Suess' birth -- I would so LOVE to see MGG in the lead of Suessical the Musical. He would rock as the Cat in the Hat!
As long as it meant he wouldn't miss any eps of CM, of course.
He really is adorable. (Sorry, moment of shallow there.) It's great that he loved all his pressies and cards. Yay! And really, who wouldn't like a pair of homemade knit socks? (Asks Stacy whose feet are freezing right now!) MGG is a totally cool dude! *G*
I know you said those were his clothes, but I really thought he was dressed as Reid and had taken the skinny tie off. He really DOES dress like that ... it's great!
I took many many pictures of him earlier in the day between their shooting scenes and I am sure that he changed into these clothes to leave work for the day. After our meeting he was gone from the set. :)
How could he not love the socks! They were knitted with love! I wish I could say I knitted them, but believe me, you don't want to see anything I have knitted!
What a sweet smile he has in the picture. This sojourn of yours keeps getting better and better, Jill.
I have frequent your blog for a while now but never left a comment because I am shy and stuff. Anyways awesome that you an opportunity of a lifetime to visit Criminal Minds set and meet the actors. I can not wait for the rest of your pictures and stories.
Goobers. http://www.smuckers.com/fg/pds/default.asp?groupid=2&catid=4&prodid=106 I think this is one of those things they market directly to kids -- in that "Mommy, mommy, I gotta have this, I saw it on TV!" way.
Hey, CriminalMindsFan here, the mismatched socks thing is so awesome. BTW did he seem tired because after carefully examining the picture with a magnifying glass :)(Slow Day) his eyes looked very tired.
I am so happy that you got to do this Jill. Plus, you have a very pretty name. Random,I know. Anyways glad he liked his presents and I can't wait to hear more about your trip:)
Hey, CriminalMindsFan here, Salvo, to answer your question MGG wears mismatched socks everyday because his Grandmother (I Think) said it was good luck and the one time he didn't wear them he sprained his ankle. This was on the special features of the first season of CM in "Meet MGG" which I've watched a million times because I love MGG and he's so darn cute in the video.:) Hope that helps.
Oh, that is awesome! hah i wish i would have known you were giving them gifts.. maybe i would have sent something for you to send them! lol i'm just messing with you.. :-)
anyways he seems to have definetely enjoyed the gifts!
He didn't eat much of his lunch. The plate looks pretty full. No wonder our Reid is so thin! I hope the mother in you came out and that you encouraged him to make a happy plate.
Looks like he's really happy with his new footwear. That was really nice of Paget to embroider his middle name onto the back of his chair. The material looks thick so it couldn't have been easy to do.
Awwww -- you said he'd love those, didn't you? I'm glad TSA packed them back in the top.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great smile!
Will they be seen on screen I wonder? We'll only need to see one to know.
ReplyDeleteHe is so attractive. Have I made it clear how much I LOVE those socks? So great, so great!

Yeah, I'm a total Googlegeek. Heh!
I'm so glad he liked all the stuff he received, esp. the socks. He seems like the type to appreciate the kindnesses of others.
ReplyDeleteJill! I forgot to ask, if he tried the socks on, did they fit? hopefully they weren't too big or worse, too small! lol.

ReplyDeleteOk. New to this blog but not to the show. I have been watching since the Bowl game. Someone made him socks. Damn that is so cool.
ReplyDeleteHe seems so sweet. Of course, mismatched socks would melt anyone's heart.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry but I am very new to the show. What is special about giving an actor mismatched socks?

ReplyDeleteThat is so cute....homemade socks for him to wear. And he doesn't even wear matching sock...that should be very special.

If they were athletic socks, would they be "The Gube tubes"?
ReplyDeleteToo fun!
ReplyDeleteThis is so Guberish!
ReplyDeletePlease tell me that he tried them on!
ReplyDeleteHe looks pleased with them - we are all going to be looking out for them on the show now. Are we going to see what else he got?
