CRIMINAL MINDS: I WENT TO BED THINKING ABOUT THOMAS GIBSON

The above picture of Thomas Gibson as Aaron Hotchner on Criminal Minds is copyrighted by CBS and reproduced on this blog with their expressed permission.

Criminal Minds: When I left the set on day one I was very tired and as I went to bed I was thinking about how tired Thomas Gibson must have been at that same time. He had a very long day on the set and he had told me earilier in the day that he was tired and here I was at my hotel laying down and he was still at the studio shooting. Amazing to me how hard these actors work. :)

  1. I have heard that they start really early in the morning. Is that true?

  3. I have a feeling you were thinking pure thoughts so I am going with Elizabeth on this one. Mine would not have been so pure.

  4. Sorry Jill but I am going with the other gals on this one. I would not have been thinking about how tired he was.

  5. I can't believe she left us an opening like that ... you'd think she didn't know us any better!

But I'll be good ... mostly.

He must have been completely fried by the time he got to sleep.

But -- does this mean there's an upcoming ep with much Hotchy goodness?

    Mmmmm.

  10. I did't really thnk about the length of their days, it's a wonder thay can think stragiht at the end of it, let alone turn out the terrific performances that they do.

So did you have sweet dreams? lol.

  11. I hate to just chime in with everyone else, but in this case, just call me Ms. Lemming. You really can't title a post that way and expect us to think about how tired he must have been still shooting :)

I can sympathize, though. When you get up at 4 for a 4:45 call and you barely have time for a donut before you have to be ready to go, and your whole morning consists of standing around with occasional bursts of filming, and you get maybe 20 minutes for lunch before you have to go back, and you stand around a whole lot more until it's gotten dark and all you can think about is your dinner, and they finally cut you loose at about 7:30 (if you're really lucky)... you tend to get a teeny bit bushed.

And if you're one of the stars, there's the constant pressure to make it perfect every time, which I'm sure is exhausting, although they're all professionals and they don't let it show.

  12. The heading along with the picture - WOW...
    Great job, Jill. ;-)

They do a really hard job and I do not envy them for that. Thanks so much to all of the lovely cast.

  13. It is amazing that they can keep it real and fresh when they are working those types of hours. Amazing journey you have had. Thanks for taking us with you.

  14. Imagine a day's work like our TG puts in...AND STILL LOOKS LIKE "HANDSOME HOT HOTCH"!!! It must be a miracle. Of course, I would be glad to give him a massage at end of day. (Therapeutic purposes only, ladies!).

  17. I'm with everyone else, Jill - my thoughts would have been decidedly impure. But more importantly: That is a wonderful, wonderful photo of him! God, the man is so gorgeous!

  18. I knew it could be long work being an actor, but i never realized just how much went into the productions until reading about all the different jobs you've been listing out with the people you've emt, it's absoluting mind-boggling how they keep it all together.

  19. I think we all think of them as making big bucks and living the golden life and sometimes we do forget how hard they all work.

  20. I have heard about the horrendous shooting schedules and terribly long days that casts and crews put in for these weekly one hour dramas. I also understand that those hours prove too much for some actors. It just take very special people to handle the work load, look the part [swoon] and have the talent to deliver such quality shot after shot, day after day.

Um, what color are TG's jammies? Not that I care or anything....

  23. Sweetie, I go to bed thinking about Thomas Gibson many nights. Sorry to his Mrs.

  24. Jill, you're a stronger, better woman than I...I wouldn't've been thinking just about how tired he was...*G*

It's never any fun when you have to be at work for 12 or 14 hours straight (I'm lucky, that only happens to me a couple times a year). They all work so hard to bring us the show...I do appreciate it. :D

  25. I never really think about what it takes out of them. More reasons to love them all.

  26. Actors are amazing.
I would never be able to work like that!

  27. My wife almost died laughing when she read this last night. Mr. Gibson is a great actor.

  28. They really do work hard to make the show so great. Love them.

  29. It is really remarkable that they work this hard and you must figure the crew has to work twice as hard as the actors.

  30. Is it just me or does that photo on his FBI badge not even look like him? It's kind of hard to see, but it looks like a different guy. For one, the dude in the picture has a big goofy smile, and although Mr. Gibson has a big, goofy smile (but cute, nonetheless), Hotch would never smile for an ID photo. Never. Those things are no fun for most people anyway, but Hotch... well, he'd scowl his way through it.

  31. Thomas Gibson was the reason I first started watching the show. I have always liked his acting.

  32. I'm not sure if I went to bed thinking about TG, I'd be thinking about his job.
