CRIMINAL MINDS: MATTHEW GRAY GUBLER TO APPEAR IN 'ALL-STAR SUPERMAN'

Criminal Minds: All-Star Superman is an amazing read I thought. Now we get to see it come to life in animated form. According to THR, James Denton, Christina Hendricks and Anthony LaPaglia will add their voices to the project as Supes, Lois Lane and Lex Luthor. Also in the cast are Ed Asner as Perry White and Frances Conroy as Ma Kent along with Linda Cardellini, Arnold Vosloo and Matthew Gray Gubler. Bruce Timm will exec producing, and Sam Liu(Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths) is directing.

For those of you that haven't heard of/read the comic..

All Star Superman is a twelve-issue comic book series featuring Superman that ran from November 2005 to October 2008. The series was written by Grant Morrison, drawn by Frank Quitely, digitally inked by Jamie Grant and published by DC Comics. DC claimed that this series would "strip down the Man of Steel to his timeless, essential elements". The series was the second to be launched in 2005 under DC's All Star imprint, the first being All Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder. These series are attempts by DC to allow major comics creators a chance to tell stories showcasing these characters without being restricted by DC Universe continuity.

According to THR, the animated film..

...begins with the Man of Steel (Denton) oversaturated by radiation during a rescue mission near the sun, accelerating the degeneration of his cells. Knowing that he has a limited time before he dies, Superman sets out on a journey that sees him revealing his secret to Lois Lane (Hendricks), giving Lex Luthor (LaPaglia) an epiphany on humanity and ensuring the safety of Earth for when he is gone.

I just last night watched Superman/Batman: Apocalypse and enjoyed the Hell out of it. DC/WB really are the standard bearers for animated movies. I can't wait for this. The film is due to be released in the spring.
