Criminal Minds star Matthew Gray Gubler, Dr. Spencer Reid on Criminal Minds, has many talents. Artist, actor and writer. What impresses you most about Matthew?
He has immense acting range on the show. If you think about everything Reid has been put through it is remarkable that Gube can do desperate, tortured and funny equally well. Very talented young actor.
I really like his expressions. He can show so much emotion and ideas through just his expressions and it's very effective in bringing his character to life. He also has such a wide range due to all the things he's been through over the past four seasons.
Where do I start? Matthew's expressive face gets to me - I feel what he feels without him having to speak a word. Though I have to say, I love his voice-it is very appealing and when he is choked up, I choke up, too!
He is an amazing artist, I check his website to laugh at his drawings regularly. He also pokes fun of himself in these - he seems very selfless for all his modeling and acting experience. I'm sure he gets told often how great-looking he is (incredibly handsome!) albeit too skinny but we can deal, right ladies? Hah!
Aside from him being phenomenally talented I truly believe he is a good, sincere and QUALITY person, something you cannot say about most of the phony-baloney egotistical people in Hollywood.
He stands heads and shoulders above them all and I respect him very much. For his limited years in this carrer, he is truly made a lasting impression on me.
Needless to say, I cannot wait for tomorrow night when I can be fascinated by that wondrous face again!

so yes... The way he so uniquely interacts with his fans. :)

way too many things. for starters hes gorgeous. i know he hated modeling but i love when he models, he was born to do it. second hes the most amazing ~famous person i know. so unique and nice and funny and original in everything he does and random and ughhh seriously hes the best.
Matthew is incredibly talented in so many areas that it is very hard to choose a favorite.
I think, though, that I will have to say his acting - simply because he has such range. He is able to convey any sort of emotion and is completely believable.
A close second are his short films - so that would be his skill as a director.
I would have to say, first of all, his sense of humor and his creative originality. It shows in his art, his films, his acting, and his personal style. He is just not like anyone else . After that, Im always struck by his genuineness and friendliness. He hasnt lost the ability to laugh at himself , and he seems to be so nice in his interactions with fans. I love watching Dr.Reid on the show, but I also admire Matthew for who he is as an artist and a person. oh yeah, and he has great hair... among other things :)
His genuine warmth and charm. He'll make you feel welcomed by saying funny little comments about you or things you have in common. Kinda like elevating whimsical chit-chat to a higher, personal art form!!! :)
His acting definatley. He is so diverse and a show like Criminal Minds is such a contrast to his very upbeat personality. The dark nature of the show has to be difficult.
Well, since I basically kept watching the first season because of him I think I have to say that what impresses me the most is that he's hot and cute at the same time. (Can you tell, I still love him :).)

I like the way he takes old clichés as his own and turns it into something really personal (I think the right word would be whimsical, in a delightful way...). There's so much to love. Starting by his personality, passing by his talent, finishing on his looks. MGG is great, beginning to end. But my absolute favorite thing about him is that he is an artist, not just an actor, or director, or painter. He is a full artist. He's tried everything, probably because he loves everything about it. And that is rare to find, a person who wants to create art, no matter what or how.
Bonus: that voice. (how about audio books for your next gig?)
I think it's cool that beyond his great looks, that expressive face, the HAIR!, the personality, the fantastic art and unbelievable sense of humor, several of you notice that voice. I've always loved to listen to him - esp if he's emotional and the rare times when his temper flares- he always gets his feelings across! Yes, his voice is amazing, and I need to hear him in the Chipmunks this season altho' my teenagers will think I'm nuts! But audio might be another way to go - his voice is just as expressive as that face. You are too good for words, Matthew!
