I've been using that site for a long time. It's really great.

I also recommend:
Wikiquote(http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Main_Page), and
Yahoo Quotations (http://education.yahoo.com/reference/quotations/;_ylt=AlmVWvSi_3yx9pAXaCJHg.5QCc0F)

I LOVE quotations and have a fairly extensive collection of my faves. My quote of the moment: "I think I've discovered the secret of life - you just hang around until you get used to it."
-- Charles Schulz

A good one for CM might be: "One must lose one's life in order to find it."
-- Anne Morrow Lindbergh

Quentin's favorite: "The dog, in life, the firmest friend, the first to welcome, foremost to defend."
-- Lord Byron

Thanks for the recommendations but Wiki is not reliable.

I will check the sites you both gave. I like the quotes they use in the show.

I have been making notes of the quotes each week in CM and have now made my own little book of them ,so when the seson 2 finale is show I will have some nice quotes to look at.Each one that is featured in the seris makes me for one think of a diffrent out look on life aND i see life from a very differnt angle thanks to my fave show on tv. but I wonder who picks the quotes for each ep of CM can anyone tell me here this answer.??

The website I gave you the link to has a section for Criminal Minds and they notate the quotes used each week.

The quotes are picked by the writers of the episode and according to Andrew Wilder they use Google to find them. :)

Maura,
What problems have you had w. Wiki? Are the quotes/authors wrong? Does it not contain obvious selections? I'm curious b/c I use it a lot....

Thanks,
Jan

Not sure on how they are with quotes but their other information can be very wrong. I have looked at parts of that site that deals with actors and shows and I find mistakes all the time.

Sorry but I cannot help. Don't know the site but I will checkout this one. Thanks.

Jan: wikipedia is not a reliable source because ANYONE can go in and edit the information on any article; they do not have to cite any sources. It's equivalent to looking at a webpage someone built regarding a topic--and they don't cite where they got their information from.

By all means, use wikipedia, but if you're using it for serious research or something where you definitely want correct information--always use another source (or three) to verify what you've found on wiki. As with any resource on the internet, you need to look at and evaluate the information you are presented with. [/librarianish lecture] ;)

It's great for casual searches, but as maura said, it is not a reliable reference source. I often use it if I just want a quick overview of something.

I use thinkexist.com (http://thinkexist.com/quotations/) for quotes, most of the time. I like it and it seems fairly accurate. If I'm unsure, I always check a second source.

Hope that helps.

Stacy,
Thanks for the info on Wikipedia/Quotes. I've used Wiki much as you have - a rough source of working info. Frankly, I don't understand how it functions competently at all, unless they have a heck of a lot of checkers working round the clock. I don't know what they do with malicious "contributors." But they are a good place to start.

Quentin agrees: "Collies are known to be generally sweet and protective. They are generally easy to train due to a high level of intelligence and a willingness to please." Quentin interprets "Willingness to please" as having the sense to bail humans out when they get into trouble.

Thanks for the link. I love the quotes they use on the show. I like to think about them and try to figure out why they choose the ones they did.
