CRIMINAL MINDS: MATTHEW GRAY GUBLER OLD INTERVIEW

Criminal Minds: I was surfing the net this morning and came across this video of an interview with Matthew Gray Gubler, Dr. Spencer Reid on Criminal Minds, it's a podcast from a radio station in New Zealand. I'm guessing it's sometime early in Season 2 of Criminal Minds. I'd never seen it before so I thought there might be some other people who hadn't either. The interview is here: http://trn-podcast.streaming.net.nz/vpodcast/vpodcast_MatthewGubler.mp4

CRIMINAL MINDS GUEST STAR CURTISS FRISLE.

Criminal Minds: Here is a link to a very interesting interview with Criminal Minds guest star Curtiss Frisle who was in Criminal Minds episode "3rd Life" written by Simon Mirren and directed by Anthony Hemingway. Criminal Minds stars Joe Mantegna, Thomas Gibson, Paget Brewster, Shemar Moore, A.J. Cook, Matthew Gray Gubler and the fantastic Kirsten Vangsness..

"It was the wardrobe people who called first, asking for my sizes and measurements," Frisle said. "I was like, 'Does this mean I got the part?'"
The character Frisle portrayed in the episode entitled, "3rd Life," was that of Taylor Coleman, a teenager who kidnaps two girls. A friend of Coleman's kills one of the captives. At one point in the storyline, Coleman tries to change his ways, only to find that he's in too deep."

Criminal Minds: WGAE and WGAW Presidents and Negotiating Committee Chair Letter January 19, 2008.

Criminal Minds: Here is the latest word from the WGA. Lets hope that things progress quickly over the next few weeks and that the writers of Criminal Minds are back to writing wonderful episodes of Criminal Minds for us soon!

To Our Fellow Members,

As you know, the Directors Guild announced yesterday that it has reached a tentative agreement with the AMPTP. We are waiting for the full terms of the deal to be made available so that we can carefully analyze and evaluate the language and numbers. Until then, members can review the DGA's press release at http://dga.org/negotiations/index.php .

The East Council, the West Board, and the Contract Negotiating Committee will all be meeting soon to discuss the DGA deal and our next steps. We also will be scheduling a membership meeting to inform you and hear your questions and concerns as more information becomes available.

This is a critical juncture in our struggle. As this process unfolds, we ask for your patience. No matter what you think of the DGA's tentative agreement, what is most important is that the Guilds East and West continue to work together in order to achieve our goal: a fair and just agreement for writers.

For more than a month we have been urging the media conglomerates to return to the table and bargain in good faith. Now that negotiations with the DGA are finished, the AMPTP has reached out to us to begin informal talks. We are committed to moving the process forward to achieve the best contract possible.

Know, too, that we have signed four more agreements with important, independent feature producers. They are Mandate Pictures, Bob Yari's Sixth Floor Literary Properties, Overt Operations/Anonymous Content, and Sidney Kimmel Entertainment. Each of these deals returns more people to work and provides further incentive to the conglomerates to settle our contract soon.

All WGA East members are invited to a large rally on Friday, January 25th at the Time Warner Center, Columbus Circle, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Additional picketing information for next week can be found at www.wgaeast.org.

We look forward to working for you and with you as we move towards a successful resolution. We are all in this together.

Best,
John F. Bowman
Chair
WGA Negotiating Committee

CRIMINAL MINDS: PENELOPE GARCIA AND THE FBI

Criminal Minds: Penelope Garcia (played by Kirsten Vangsness) is the "tech kitten" on Criminal Minds. In the episode "Penelope" we learned the FBI recruited her after she came to their attention as a hacker and we know from the episode "Secrets and Lies" that she's on some "list" the CIA keeps. What do you think Garcia did to come to the attention of both the FBI and the CIA?

CRIMINAL MINDS: PAGET BREWSTER HAS SOME ADVICE.

Criminal Minds: Paget Brewster who plays Emily Prentiss on Criminal Minds, wrote an article for Esquire magazine in 2005, titled, "13 Things You Don't Know About Women". It's short but fun and aimed at an adult audience. You can find it here: http://www.esquire.com/women/10-things-you-dont-know-about-women/ESQ0106TENTHINGS_68

CRIMINAL MINDS: MATTHEW GRAY GUBLER WANTS CHIPETTES.

Criminal Minds: Matthew Gray Gubler, Dr. Spencer Reid on Criminal Minds, wants to do a "Alvin and the Chipmunks" sequel.
"If Justin Long, who voiced Alvin, or Matthew Gray Gubler (Simon) have anything to say about that, I imagine the sequel won't be a family movie -- both commented on their hotness and anatomy. Whatever happens, I'm sure you can expect some strategically-placed clothing, but either way, the Chipmunks are here to stay -- at least for a few more rounds of money making. What say you? Would you like a CG-dose of Chipettes?"

CRIMINAL MINDS: MEETING OF THE MINDS.

Criminal Minds: Thank you to Stacy for continuing to run the Criminal Minds Fanatic blog for a few more days. I'm just popping in to say hello and share a funny story with all of you.

I spent the majority of today with the CEO of the company I work for and my direct supervisor. We had a very productive morning talking about normal business matters and future company growth. We continued talking shop while at lunch and then somehow the subject moved to the internet, new media and the writers strike.

Let me backup for a moment and point out to you that my CEO is about 100 tiers ahead of me within the company, is very personable and extremely intelligent. I mentioned the blog and both of them pointed out that they did not know about the blog. Several people within the company do and so I had assumed they did as well.

I asked my CEO if he watched Criminal Minds and was thrilled to hear that he does. Here's where he tickled me. He said "Oh, Mandy Patinkin's show. I watch it. Did you know he left the show? Did you know he sings?" I pointed out that I had been to several of Mandy's concerts over the years, did in fact know that he had left the show and actually had been the person who had posted Ed Bernero's letter announcing that Mandy had left the show on my blog. I mentioned that the blog was being run this week by a Thomas Gibson fan and he said, "The one that leads the unit". The whole thing really tickled me. He is a great CEO and a nice man. The fact that he really likes Criminal Minds was the cherry on the sundae. I think I'll stay with this company for awhile! :)

CRIMINAL MINDS: DGA ANNOUNCES THEIR DEAL.

Criminal Minds: The DGA's new contract with the AMPTP is now being looked at by the WGA. We can just wait and hope that the Criminal Minds writers will be back to work really soon. We need to wait for the WGA to evaluate the agreement to see if it could be the foundation of their own agreement with the AMPTP. I know that everyone is anxious but I don't have any inside info and emailing me is futile. Sorry. If I had some news then I would give it to you. Here is the joint statement by the AMPTP and the DGA.

"The agreement between the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers and the Directors Guild of America establishes an important precedent: Our industry’s creative talent will now participate financially in every emerging area of new media. The agreement demonstrates beyond any doubt that our industry’s producers are willing and able to work with the creators of entertainment content to establish fair and flexible rules for this fast-changing marketplace.

We hope that this agreement with DGA will signal the beginning of the end of this extremely difficult period for our industry. Today, we invite the Writers Guild of America to engage with us in a series of informal discussions similar to the productive process that led us to a deal with the DGA to determine whether there is a reasonable basis for returning to formal bargaining. We look forward to these discussions, and to the day when our entire industry gets back to work.

Peter Chernin, Chairman and CEO, the Fox Group
Brad Grey, Chairman & CEO, Paramount Pictures Corp.
Robert A. Iger, President & CEO, The Walt Disney Company
Michael Lynton, Chairman & CEO, Sony Pictures Entertainment
Barry M. Meyer, Chairman & CEO, Warner Bros.
Leslie Moonves, President & CEO, CBS Corp.
Harry Sloan, Chairman & CEO, MGM
Jeff Zucker, President & CEO, NBC Universal"

CRIMINAL MINDS OR REALITY SHOWS?

Criminal Minds: If the writers strike doesn't end soon then Criminal Minds fans will have three new CBS shows to "watch". The word vomit comes to mind.

"CBS added three new alternative series as the writers’ strike drags on.

Secret Talents of the Stars is a biweekly celebrity talent show structured into a mini-tournament to see who has the best hidden talent. It is executive-produced by Robyn Nash and Don Weiner for Magic Molehill Productions.

Game Show in My Head is a hidden-camera show in which contestants have to complete crazy stunts in public to win money. It is from fox21, produced by Hat Trick Productions and Katalyst Films, with executive producers Jimmy Mulville and Leon Wilde; and Ashton Kutcher, Jason Goldberg and Karey Burke.

America’s Top Dog has a group of pet-owners and their pets living together in a competition format. It is executive-produced by R.J. Cutler, Stu Schreiberg and Stephen Kroopnick for Magic Molehill Productions.

CRIMINAL MINDS: A.J. COOK ARTICLE

Criminal Minds: A.J.Cook plays Jennifer "J.J." Jareau, the press liaison on the CBS drama "Criminal Minds." She sees her character's use of a deadly weapon as a sign of additional responsibility in the third season of the show. Strapping on a bulletproof vest and storming a house or a building is all part of the fun for Cook, who sees J.J. as a go-between for the team and the public.
