CRIMINAL MINDS STAR KIRSTEN VANGSNESS HAS A COMMENT!
Criminal Minds star Kirsten Vangsness posted this comment and I wanted to make sure all the fans of Criminal Minds saw it:
Kirsten said...
Hi.
I always learn so much about the show I'm on when I read stuff about it:)
Hey, that shot of the "Penelope" episode is of Garcia's apartment!
That face thing on the the wall is like an old fashioned electronic, surge-er, facial thingy. Next weeks is the beginning of the two parts of it.
I don't know how soon you will be seeing it because it looks like they are going to be alternating repeats and new episodes because of the strike. It's horribly sad at work. I went and walked at the Disney gate yesterday (I wore a giant red petticoat and an apron) and will be out at studios again today. Jimmy Kimmel came and brought everyone burritos. Seriously. The crew are scared and making plans to start different jobs and move in with their parents and back other towns (because Hollywood is shut down right now) and such. We have eight more days. That's all the scripts we have. Then no more stories. That's half of the season. And it's the same for all the shows. Every camera operator, costumer, everyone- out of a job. I'm so sad about it and I though y'all should know and I would give you my special edition that I didn't put on CBS.
I will try not to only post when I do "strike talk" but I'm surprisingly shy sometimes:)
You can call Touchstone and let them know your peeved. If you are. Which I am. I think they are a great company and they employ lovely folks, I just take issue with them about this. It's all so complicated. And icky. And I want it to work out. Soon.
hug a tree or something,
Kirsten
***Heads up from Jill that Kirsten also updated her blog http://www.cbs.com/primetime/criminal_minds/blog2.php?id=13****
Good on you for supporting the strike, and for being a true class act.
ReplyDeleteWe're worried about you guys too, and I hope this ends speedily--and beneficially for the WGA.
Kirsten: Never, never, never, ever leave us. We love you.
ReplyDeleteWe are my favorite on the show and I adore you in real life. I knew you would support the strike!
ReplyDeleteHugs Kirsten. We are all worried for everyone. Please, please, please send them all our love.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for commenting Kirsten. I agree it is very sad. We know how much everyone-cast crew and producers puts into the show, and we don't want to lose a single speck of their talent.
ReplyDeleteIt is sad, also, that large companies cannot see how much the little people out here also rely on tv for entertainment. Their arrogance is unbecoming for sure. They will lose much of what they are coveting by refusing to talk.
We will support you all, whatever you need. Again, thanks.
Kirsten thank you so much for taking the time to come on here and give us your story. We are grateful to have cast members as loyal as you. I have familiarized myself with the entire strike situation and read the entire WGA website. Kudos to you for not only supporting the strike but for picketing also!
ReplyDeleteLee :)
Kirsten,
ReplyDeleteThere are a group of us that make a monthly group contribution to MS in Shemar's honor. We could divert those funds for awhile to help someone from the show who needs the money. We can also take up a collection. Please let Jill know if this would help anyone.
I admire you for taking a stand with the writers. They are the heart of the show and they deserve the respect of being properly compensated. Good for you Kirsten. We love ya!
ReplyDeleteHug everyone for us and then ask someone to give you a hug from all of us!
ReplyDeleteI am worried about all of you. Whatever we can do for any of you is a done deal. Just ask. Be good to each other and take care of one another. Your audience will be here for you Kirsten when you come back with open arms.
ReplyDeleteKirt don't leave us please don't leave us I love you soooooo much and I hope this issue get under control enough to stop and have a better outcome of this whole ordeal. I need to see you on Wed's its very important. HELL, I NEED TO SEE ALL YOU GUYS WED!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE YOU SHEMAR!
XOXOXO You are a great person KV!
ReplyDeleteMiss Vangsness, WITH YOU FOREVER.
ReplyDeleteKirsten, thank you for taking the time to visit and comment.
ReplyDeleteIt is incredibly sad what is happening but it will work out. And we will all still be here.
Love, hugs and lots of support to everyone.
Jx
We're behind you all in this! It's not easy for writers and actors, who sometimes don't get paid as much as they should...
ReplyDeleteI guess the big bosses gets all the money...
--Krissy
Kirsten, You are so kind to be worried about the people you work with. We are all worried for them and you as well. People must be treated fairly in this world and the writers are not being treated with the respect they have earned. Thank you for taking the time to comment.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, Kirsten! Love and hugs back at ya and everyone deeply affected by this strike. We support what you are standing for.
ReplyDeleteI feel so bad for all of you. After the season got off to such a rough start, and just as it seemed like the show was really hitting its stride and cracking the top ten every week and totally rocking ... the stress must just be crushing.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could wrap you all up in a big hug and make it all better.
For what it's worth, whenever this gets settled, you can believe the fans will still be out here, waiting for you to be in our living rooms again. Reruns will not make us abandon you!
818-560-1000 is the phone number for Disney which produces Criminal Minds!
ReplyDeleteCall them and tell them, as KV suggested, that we want our writers to get a fair new contract!
I wish I could give each member of the cast, crew and all the writers hugs, kisses and hot cocoa. I'm so glad to know you were there supporting them.
ReplyDeleteI called the # and the operator said that nobody there is taking phone calls from tv fans.
ReplyDeleteLoad of crap. They have no problem taking my money at Disney!
Love you Kirsten.
We support the WGA and SAG in this house. We love tv. Writers and actors are what it is all about. As much as I adore you I have to say it starts first with the writers. They created the Garcia you so masterfully portray. Good for you for standing with them when they need you.
ReplyDeleteYou and Ed are class acts for thinking about the fans at a time like this. I am sure that you know how much we appreciate you both.
ReplyDeleteI love CM and the writing is just great on the show. I support the writers 100%!
***PLEASE NOTE:****
ReplyDeleteFor security reasons (yours) please do NOT post your email in the comments here. If you do so, the post will be DELETED.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation. :D
Thanks for commenting Kirsten. I think it's great that you're supporting the strike. It's sad that so many people are affected by what basically comes down to the greediness of the studios.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope that this situation is resolved quickly and FAIRLY for our writers.
Kristen,
ReplyDeleteGood for you in joining the strike in supporting them! I hope you keep it up, and that others join you!
It is horrible that anyone should have to choose between working and walking a picket line. I applaud your devotion to the writers and the staff and we are equally devoted to all of them and all of the sag workers.
ReplyDeleteYou have always been really special to the fans of the show and to this blog and it never surprises me that you are so genuine and so honest. We feel like we know you as a person because you walk the walk. Keep on walking with the writers Kirsten.
You are a really good person Kirsten. I am so glad you are a star on our show and not another one. You are one of a kind!
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking the time and trouble to comment here, Kirsten.
ReplyDeleteGood on you for supporting the writers and here's hoping it gets resolved sooner rather than later.
Kirsten,
ReplyDeleteI feel so bad for all the people losing their jobs. They must be so scared. I wish we could help. I also tried to call Disney and was also told that they aren't passing messages from fans and nobody was available to talk.
Spread hugs for us to everyone.
Thank you Kirsten for reminding us that this strike doesn't just effect the writers but it effects everyone. We'll see on tv when the time is right and the money is there.
ReplyDeleteKirsten, thank you for commenting. I don't understand the ins and outs of strikes, but I do hope the issues are resolved ASAP so that as few people as possible are adversely affected. Everyone connected with the show is in my thoughts and I'll send lots of positive energy your way.
ReplyDeleteJan and Quentin (the Amazing Collie), Grand Junction, CO
Thank you Kirsten for lending your support to all who work with you and for helping us have a better understanding of their plight. We could help if someone would tell us where to send some money.
ReplyDeleteKirsten,
ReplyDeleteThanks for supporting the strike. You are a true gem! I love the you and the show. Please know that we'll be here supporting you, the show and the writers during this ordeal and hope that everything can be resolved in a respective manner.
I really enjoy watching the show every week, not only because of the actors, it's the writers and the storylines that come about. CM IS A GREAT SHOW!!
Love and support,
Marie from North Dakota
Best wishes for a quick ending for everyone's sakes KV.
ReplyDeleteI would also like to send some positive energy and prayers to all the people who make CM and to their families at this rough time. We knew you would be on the side of right!
ReplyDeleteKirsten,
ReplyDeleteI really hope you are reading this. I'm Jill's (struggling) actor friend here in Los Angeles. I just wanted to say that I'd like to get involved and help if there is any way that I can.
I support the writers in their efforts and would like to help anyone in need if I could.
I briefly saw you on the set of Criminal Minds a few months ago when I was there, but unfortunately didn't get to meet you. I'd like that opportunity if possible. I'm a big fan, so please contact me via Jill and let me know if I can do anything!
it,s great you are out there suporting the writers like you are and others.to bad i live so far away i would go out and strike with then.
ReplyDeleteKirsten,
ReplyDeleteYou are our sunshine on a cloudy day. You don't come here often but when you do it always makes things better and your pen reports are near and dear to us.
I feel so bad for all the people who are losing their jobs. I am sure that many of them don't have much, if anything, saved in the bank. We could help.
Kirsten=Love!
ReplyDeleteKirsten,
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting us know what is going on with the strike. It's good to know you are supporting the writers.
Kirsten, you rock!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea how really bad this could be for the other crew members--trying to get other jobs, moving in with family to save money--just because the PTB don't want to give the writers their fair share.
As always, you bring the humanity to the show and to the strike.
Thank you for taking the time to post your message.
Lori Stewart
Woodbridge, VA
I admire you for so many things. This is just another thing. You are very special. I am sorry that they interupted your bliss.
ReplyDeleteKirsten,
ReplyDeleteWhen I was asked to be in the Season Two dvds I asked to see what picture they had picked before I gave my permission. They picked one of the pics of you and I together from when I visited. I could not have been happier. It was an honor being included on the dvds but it was especially meaningful to me because it was us together and meeting you was a thrill. You are such a wonderful person.
When I wrote about my trip I told everyone that the biggest surprise for me was the sheer joy I felt spending time with the writers. I never even thought about wanting to meet them before the trip and they turned out to be the highlight after meeting you. I loved talking with them and now they are on strike and it really breaks my heart. I love our writers. I pay attention to them since the trip and my appreciation for their talent knows no bounds.
So I want you to hug all of them for me. I am asking as a personal favor and then ask Ed to hug you for me as another personal favor. Keep the faith!
Jill
Kirsten,
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting.
Good luck to everyone.
I have been following the issues/looming strike/strike, and have been talking up the writers' side to everyone I know. Just know that everyone that I have talked to is not angry with the writers. Everyone seems to understand the issues involved.
Sending you loads of happy wishes, prayers and love from Chicago!
ReplyDeleteLady Kirsten, you are doing the right thing but walking the line. Their fight is just and hard and they need all the support they can get. Good for you!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kirsten for letting us know. I know I, like so many, wish we could help more...walk in the lines like you, bring food...not only to the writers and actors, but the crew who work behind the scenes who also are affected by this strike. I join with all the others here who pray for a speedy and just resolution of this strike.
ReplyDeleteThank you for what you said in your blog...I have already written and emailed the various...but like the boycotting of the products as well. If we all do this, I have no doubt the advertisers will speak...and the network will listen!
Best of all, and know you are all missed and thought of.
{{{Hugs}}}
Thank you Kirsten for being such a classy lady! I support the strike but I'm also worried for the people who will be out of a job soon because of the shutdown. If the PTB have any heart, they'll get their butts back to the negotiation table and do what is right and fair by not only the writers, but everyone involved with the production of the shows and movies that put money into the big wigs' pockets.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many new posts on the blog since I checked it last night. Good morning Kirsten. I hope today brings clarity to the Networks and that there is progress made to resolve this situation. I commented on your post first since you play my favorite character on the show.
ReplyDeleteI think that you are very brave for adding your voice to the cause when so many other actors have fallen silent. Thank you and maybe you could be a role model to them on how to be loyal!
ReplyDeleteMany hugs.
Kirsten, you and Ed bring tears to my eyes reading these things. The strike has affected us all but knowing it comes from people we care about so much, it really hits home a lot harder. I feel for everybody that is suffering because of this. It's just awful.
ReplyDeleteIt may be an inconvenience to TV viewers, but we CM folks know it's much more important for you all to do what's right. And for that it doesn't seem an inconvenience at all. I know I can wait. I feel that it's worth it.
So big hugs to you too for spending a few personal moments with us, you're amazing in so many ways.
Best wishes to you all.
Thank you Kirsten for visiting us and for opening up about how you feel about the strike. Our hearts are with you all and I will be ready for more "Garcia" when the time is right to bring her back.
ReplyDeleteHugs from Maine Kirsten. You're a very special person.
ReplyDeleteGo Girl! Walk that line with your writers. They have done you proud and now you are making them proud. You always make us proud.
ReplyDeleteCyber hugs from Greece to you Kirsten. You are a good girl to your friends.
ReplyDeleteI would never guess that you are a shy person. You seem so out going and energetic. You write from your heart which is really great but so sad because what is happening to the crew sounds so aweful. They are as important to us the cast and the writers.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to Penelope but I can wait.
Kirsten,
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to "Penelope" too but we have been screaming for more Garcia for two years. A few more months or weeks won't hurt us but it is all of you that we hurt for.
God Bless. Don;t Hug a Tree like you wrote. You should climb it and have some fun.
Try to stay busy when you run out of work. Go hang out with friends you haven't seen in awhile or catch some plays. Find some measure of "bliss" anyway that you can. Try to keep yourself from constantly worrying. You are a young actress and all this is new to you and I imagine it is scarey.
ReplyDeleteThe WGA is going to have to come to the table soon. There is so much more solidarity this time than during the last long strike. I'm glad that you are supporting the strike.
ReplyDeleteXOXO
Natasha
KC, I am counting on the fact that you are passing our hugs like sun in the summer. Keep on hugging everyone you see. Positive flow of karma is on it's way to all of you.
ReplyDeleteYour parents raised you right. You are doing the right thing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming over to visit with us Kirsten. I wish the news had been better but we are all a family and we'll hang with you. You know that.
ReplyDeleteBIG hugs and whimsy dust are floating through cyberland straight to you.
ReplyDeleteYou're doing the right thing and lets all just say a quick prayer that this will be known as the shortest strike in history.
ReplyDeleteKirsten,
ReplyDeletewe really care about all of you and will give as much support as we can on our end. Sending you a big hug :)
Feel better Kirsten. We're here to help as we can!
ReplyDeleteWe are all thinking about everyone there and we hope it is resolved very quickly.
ReplyDeleteWell done Kirsten on being so supportive of the writers.
ReplyDeleteWe all love you.
No need to be shy around us Kirsten. We adore you!
ReplyDeleteYou are a classy lady and a talented woman. The writers are very important to us and so are you.
ReplyDeleteWe love you Kirsten. All my friends and I like Garcia best on the show!
ReplyDeleteIt's just great that you support the writers so much and I admire you even more now for you're not only a great actress but also very loyal to your crew and so close to the fans (thanks for your blog and the comment here!). There are numerous groups on myspace and other boards that support the WGA. Also your fans from Germany are wholeheartedly behind you, the whole team and particularly the writers. I try my best to spread the writer's word here in Germany and make as many people as possible sign the online-petitions and write letters to the networks. I really hope that'll help and bring the strike to a quick end beneficial for the WGA.
ReplyDeleteYour whole team can rely on the support of the German fans. We love you all!
