CRIMINAL MINDS: TALENTED, HUMBLE & FUNNY
Criminal Minds: Andrew Wilder is one of the most talked about and praised Criminal Minds writers on this blog and on the website. He has written: "North Mammon", "The Tribe", "L.D.S.K". and "Ashes and Dust", which we lovingly renamed without his permission, "Fire and Enya". Andrew is a young, talented and dedicated writer who is passionate about the show and its characters. I had the great priviledge of watching the last day of the filming of Ashes and Dust and spending some time talking with Andrew. It was certainly one of the highlights of the trip. I said yesterday that we have many things to look forward to during season three of Criminal Minds and Andrew is one of them. He has graciously offered to answer fans questions after the airing of the season three episodes that he is writing. So lets hope that Andrew writes many of the scripts for season three so we get to talk to him alot. Andrew's picture is bottom row on the right hand side of this photo. Thank you Andrew for writing some of our very favorite episodes. You helped set the bar high the past two seasons and we have full faith and confidence that you will raise it even higher this season. :)

L.D.S.K. is my all time favorite episode. My husband's favorite is Fire and Enya. I guess we are a Wilder household. This is very exciting news. Pleasant to have good news for a change.
L.D.S.K. all the way! Welcome to our CM world Mr. Wilder.
This is bright news. Lovely. I am partial to North Mammon. I love A.J. Cook and this was her first real meaty episode. She is so wonderful. Great episode. Well done Andrew.
My fav was "Ashes". There was so much emotion in that episode. I wanted to cry when Hotch was giving Abby's son his business card. It was so touching and so sweet. Both guest stars were wonderful. I loved the guy you played Abby.
I must admit that when Enya comes on the radio I immediately do think of the episode. It truly should be renamed Fire and Enya. It was such an interesting song selection.
Mel: That is so true about the song. I sometimes forget the titles of the various episodes but if someone says the Enya episode I immediately flashback to the family stuck in the car while he lights it on fire. Great episode.
Andrew Wilder is responsible for three of my favourite episodes: LDSK, The Tribe, and Ashes & Dust. Hmm, what do these all have in common? Lots of Hotch! (Hey, I'm nothing if not consistent.) Andrew does such a wonderful job writing Hotch--I hope he gets to do more Hotch-centric eps this year. That would make me a very happy slashgirl.*g*
I'm so glad that Andrew will be answering our questions/comments after his eps. I think it's a very generous thing for him to do; he seems like a genuinely nice guy. I look forward to reading what he has to say.
So, thank you, Andrew for doing this for the CM fans; we really do appreciate it!
Thanks Andrew - what a lovely thing to offer to do and it will be a great opportunity to be able to ask the writer questions after we see the episodes.
And I'm with slashgirl - Andrew Wilder's eps are some of my favourites too.
This is going to be a great treat. Wonderful writer. I vote for LDSK.
-You just had to shoot-
The Tribe is my pick.
LDSK is one of my all time favorite episodes. Can't wait to talk to Andrew!
Lee
I wish we could ask him ?s now but this is great news and certainly something wonderful to look forward to. I would like to know if A & D was a hard episode to write. It was incredible and of course I loved it but it is really dark. From the opening scene until the end the entire theme was dark and I wonder if he felt that. Maybe he will allow us to ask these questions along with the new season questions. Fire and Enya. You had to love that episode. Thanks for arranging this for us JD.
All of those eps are among my favorites.
The wall of heroes pictures totally crack me up. Pretty much everything you need to know about the sense of humor on the CM set is right there, isn't it?
How in the world did you do this? It could not have been easy because we have been talking about this man non-stop for so long and there hasn't been a peep from him. Great news and even though you can't see it I am smiling. What a wonderful way to celebrate that new beginning you preached about yesterday.
"Hotch, you kick like a nine year old girl."- How do you not love the writing of a man who wrote those words for Reid!
Voting for L.D.S.K.
That epi rocked.
I love LDSK. Any episode that gives a little insight to Reid's history, let's him show that he's more than just a brain, and still vulnerable is great.
I can't wait to see what Mr. Wilder has in store for us this coming season.
If we are voting I am casting mine for "Ashes, Dust, Fire & Enya". It was so good that I didn't even answer the phone when it rang during the show. I was on the edge of my seat. If memory serves I yelled at the tivo because it wasn't forwarding through the commercials fast enough.
I hate to be shallow and say it, but he is pretty cute, too.
Quentin: What's his treat factor? Can I be an extra collie?
First piece of really good news in a week. Thank you and N. Mammon was great. It gave J.J. a personality and showed us she wasn't eye candy on the show but a smart and intelligent character. I didn't pay her a bit of attention before and now I am a big fan.
What a treat to get to talk to the folks behind the scenes. Smart fans know it's not just the pretty, talented people in front of the camera who make a great show; it's also the pretty, talented people behind the camera who tell them what to say! CM has more than its share of both. I can't wait to see what Mr. Wilder comes up with for us this season.
I ditto Stacy's comments...re LOTS OF HOTCH! Can never overdose on him. As you may know, she and I fight for Hotch! (giggles)
I have watched LDSK, TRIBE, and NORTH MAMMON so many times that I almost know the scripts word-for-word..!!!!
THANKS ANDREW--FOR GREAT SCRIPTS, FOR FEEDING WE "HOTCHAHOLICS", AND OFFERING TO BE INTERROGATED BY US NEXT SEASON!
We won't let you down.

Jan and Quentin said...
I hate to be shallow and say it, but he is pretty cute, too.
Ah, I'll join you in the shallow end of the pool, Jan. Yes, Andrew is a very good looking guy. And very talented, of course. :D
So he's the one to blame for my nightmare after North Mammon! lol. That was a great, although very disturbing episode. Although I'm partial to LDSK and the Tribe. Mr. Wilder is very talented and I look forward to seeing what else he has in store for us this season.
I'm torn between LDSK and Ashes for my fave of Wilder's. Can't wait to see what other fantastic work he comes up with!
I agree with Nicky that this is the first really good news we have had in a week now.
I pick Ashes. They all are very good but this one was a reach. It had to be a hard story to tell and burning up families isn't something a writer would take lightly so I imagine that more than ordinary hard work went into that episode. I really liked it.
North Mammon. It was important to see that they don't always get there on time. I just really enjoyed the episode.
Toss up between Ashes and Tribe. I think I am going to have to go with Tribe. I really agree that Mr. Wilder writes a great Hotch!
L.D.S.K. was one of my favorite episodes as well! Can't wait to see what Andrew has planned for Season 3.
It's wonderful that the writers really care about the fans in that they will answer our questions after the shows. Two really big thumbs up for them!!!!!!!
This is wonderful news. I am thrilled. He is one of my favorite writers.
I am not going to pick one because they all on my favorites list. I look forward to seeing what he has up his sleeves for us this season.
L.D.S.K. is one of the episodes that I love to watch and rewatch. What did we do before tivo and vcrs??
Welcome to one of our very favorite writers. We look forward to hearing what you have to say and we are praying for all of you.
I absolutely love LDSK and North Mammon. I look forward to seeing Andrew Wilder's episodes next season. Here's hoping he'll write another JJ-centric one, since North Mammon is really the only one we've ever had, and it was fantastic.
I am so glad to hear we will be able to correspond with Andrew.
His eps ooze emotion. The main reason I watch CM is the humanization of crime. Andrew does that so well through his writing.
I loved the tribe. Two cultures working together. Great episode.
Andrew Wilder is an incredible writer and I bet all his scripts are like his babies to him so I won't pick a favorite. I am wildly excited to have him participating with us. What a wonderful chance to thank him and ask questions about the writing process.
They are all great episodes! I can't choose which one I like the most!
I am certainly looking forward to seeing more of his work!
I wonder what gems he has in store for us in season three?
I am so glad that it is not only me that hears enya and replays the whole episode in my mind.
I really am excited that he will be participating. I think was much needed happy news for us fans. I am thrilled.
Wonderful news. This is finally something that makes me smile.
Yes, welcome Mr. Wilder. We truly admire your work in this group and are so honored and pleased to have you amongst us.
L.D.S.K.
North Mammon
Ashes & Dust
The Tribe
That is my order. I really like how he writes outside the box.
The Tribe is my vote.
Exciting news.
This is cool news to come home to. Wow. I love his episodes. This is going to be great.
How did I not know about this blog. I love it. Andrew Wilder! I love him. He has written really great episodes. I can't wait to read what he has to say.
He is a cutie pie------fangirl moment is over now. I promise.
I loved all these episodes but I was especially drawn to N.Mammom. I liked seeing JJ showing us just how smart she is and how her childhood had helped shape her. If I am not mistaken it has been her largest role on the show so far. I would like to see her have a larger role.
very cool
Thank you Jill for making this wonderful op happen for us. Wilder is a wickedly awesome writer. All of my senior high class used to watch the show together and we loved Ashes so much. Now I am off to college. I hope my new friends like CM.
I didn't realize that Andrew was the one that wrote North Mammon. I probably walked right by him many times when I worked on that set.
Keep giving us the great episodes to make the 3rd season great.
I am looking forward like the rest of you to having this happen. This show cares so much for us fans. Amazing. We need to really find out who the Nielsen families are and beg them to watch season three. I will be watching.
L.D.S.K. is a magnificent episode. We rewatched it a few nights ago. This is wonderful news. Thanks Jill.
Take some better pics of him when you are out there. He is a very talented man. It will be wonderful to talk with him.
Brilliant.
Brilliant writer and brilliant news for us!
With all the excitement over hearing from Ed again I failed to comment on this wonderful news. I have to pick L.D.S.K. It is my favorite of all the episodes. It hooked me on the show in the first place.
This is great news. Ashes gets my vote.
L.D.S.K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That night I fell in love.....
I can't pick one. Just as I start to type an episode name I remember a great scene from a different one so I am picking them all. Andrew Wilder is incredible and I am on a high just thinking about reading what he has to say to the fans about his writing.
Tribe and North Mammon. So well written. They all are but those two are great. L.S.D.K. is the episode that made me a die hard fan and Ashes, Dust and Enya is probably an episode that I have rewatched so many times that I could recite the words by heart. This is just very exciting news.
The Tribe was my fav. Loved it.
I think my wife and I could never narrow it down on this writer. We both thought them all brilliant.
Love them all. Wilder is amazing.
L.D.S.K. is to this day one of the best episodes we have. I would bet every fan has rewatched it at least two or three times. I loved it. That gets my vote.
I am leaning towards "North Mammon". It is the episode that brought JJ to life.
