CRIMINAL MINDS: THINGS YOU LEARN REALLY QUICKLY ON SET

Criminal Minds: Day One: One of the things you learn really quickly while on set is that the schedule can and will change all the time. By the time Matthew sat down to have lunch he was done shooting for the day, AJ was still in wardrobe and was not shooting that day, Kirsten had the day off but was coming to the set later to meet me, Shemar was almost done shooting for the day (or so he thought), Mandy, Paget and Thomas still had a lot of scenes to shoot and the shooting was way behind. Meal breaks on a set are union regulated and any decision to extend shooting past that time means big penalties. We were already in the penalty phase. I had hoped to have all of the cast in Craft Services at the same time but you learn very fast that flexibility is essential. I took hundreds of pictures while on the set of Criminal Minds. Many of them were of events which occured prior to eating lunch with Matthew and I will show them when I am done with my trip diary. Some of them I won't post until we get closer to seeing "Ashes and Dust" and some I will need to postpone until "Honor Among Thieves" is staring us in the face. So lets get back to Matthew and his gifts as soon as possible because after that AJ enters the room and rocks our world!

  5. This got me to thinking -- is there some (or several) unsung hero there whose function it is to keep track of/round up people as they're needed for shooting?

  6. Heh. He does love his name.
Thanks, Jill, for all the sharing, and certainly for all your updates on your big adventure. How am I going to get any work done while I wait for more?

  8. Wow, you're really good at leaving us hanging aren't you? Underneath university classes (and *cough* during some of them.......) this blog and the CM board have been having a lot of my attentions, just checking in constantly for new updates and pictures.

And alas, to find out that we get this for weeks yet till the shows air just makes it that much more exciting.

This blog is giving me the feeling that almost every CM ep does at the end....grossly wanting MORE!

  9. Looks tempting ... did you sit?

  10. liked the chair. Well, if you have 3 names, why not make sure they are ALL on your chair.

(but what I want to know is what happens if people sit in the wrong chair?

Is there some kind of ejector button so the rightful chair owner can send the cheeky chair pincher flying out of their seat?

Alas, I bet no-one will ever tell me)

    really enjoying all this tidbits.

  12. Actually they are not territorial about their chairs at all. Funny story: Day two I was sitting in a chair behind the Director and Continuity Asst. when the writer walked in and I asked him if I was sitting in his chair. He said yes but not to get up he would sit next to me in someone else's chair. The only chair I tried out was actually Shemar's. No particular reason other than it was there and I wanted to. :)

  14. It really does sound as though they get along in rl as well as it comes across on screen, which is good to know. I supose even pictures might give the game away regarding future episodes.
