CRIMINAL MINDS FILMING OF "HONOR AMONG THIEVES"

Criminal Minds Trip Diary, Day Two: Thomas Gibson finished signing autographs for the members of my Yahoo Group and shooting for "Honor Among Thieves" had started. The first scene they were shooting was a very long scene. I can't give anything away about the episode but I need to tell you a few things so you will understand what happened to me later that morning. The scene in question is very long and it ends with Gideon and Reid opening the conference room door and quickly walking down the hall where Gideon goes into his office and Reid continues down the hall. What you also might want to keep in mind is that Mandy Patinkin can run faster than me and that when I say they shoot the same scene over and over I am really serious and......if you are a fan of the show getting stuck in Gideon's office is probably not a bad thing unless you forgot to carry your camera. :)

  1. Trapped by the camera crew!

Jill, does that mean that the set is laid out as if it were a location? I mean, like a real office with connecting halls and so forth? I always assumed they had individual sets for each primary location, and some hallways and so on.

  2. OOoh, stuck in Gideon's office? Now THAT would be a dream come true. ;-) Only thing to enhance the dream would have been yes, a camera to have with you. ;-)

  3. I would imagine being stuck in any part of the set without a camera with you would be horrible.

I am so excited about these two episodes you have NOT told us about. lol

  4. I have a vision of you chasing MP down the hall. LOL. I would chase MGG anywhere. Good thing I was not on the set. Just kidding. I would love to be in Gideon's office if only to look around but you took no camera. How dreadfully wrong of you!

  5. I would love to be able to get a better sense of the set layout. I have the same questions as elizabeth. Could you please give us some more info when you have a moment.

  6. So, tell the truth, Jill, exactly how many sweet little notes did you hide in the office while you were stuck there? We'll have to watch MP every time he opens a drawer or folder or book from now on to see if he finds another one ...

  7. I hope that you didn't miss getting pics of MP - but I bet you were excited to be "stuck" in Gideon's office :) Can't wait to hear what happens...

  8. I do not know how you were able to keep your mouth shut because I would have shouted out, hey look there is Gideon and Reid. LOL

  9. Stuck in Gideon's office? Oh, I hope you made the most of it. Looking forward to the rest of the tale.

And they do have some long tracking shots so I assumed the main set was a fairly big one.

  13. How great to watch them actually filming a scene. So cool.

  14. Shame on you for not having your camera with you at all times. What if you had missed something big. Only teasing you did great. I would have been shaking too much to ever even take a pic.

  15. I have tried really hard to make out the people in the conference room and I think I see Gibson and Patinkin.

  16. What an amazing experience watching scenes being filmed! I laughed at the "mom" in you putting Garcia's trash can on the floor. ("Those computer geeks, can't clean up their own offices...")

Looking forward to more info about your "Mandy sighting."

  17. OOO I wonder if Reid and Gideon alone has to do with Reid's "issues" I really hope it does. I can't wait to see how the drug storyline falls into place. The writer's have so much potential to use the drugs to further the other characters not just Reid.

  18. Jill you can always pretend that every time MP opened the door he was there to greet you; hi honey I'm home...

Wonder if the slow speed chase on the tv screen was a real one or part of the ep. I guess we will have to wait and see??

  19. Did you have to hold off using the "restroom" during that long scene filming??? NOW THAT WOULD BE A REAL TRAGEDY...MY WORSE NIGHTMARE!!

  20. The can trap me in Gideon's office as much as they like as long as Mandy is in there with me. :)

  21. So what did you do while you were stuck there?

    ReplyDelete
  22. I would have hidden notes too. Or written a note to Mandy somewhere in the office. I would have to do something. I am looking forward to reading about your meeting with him.

  24. Heh. I'd rather be trapped in Hotch's office. *G* (yeah, yeah, I know, not a big surprise or anything...)

Look forward to hearing more about your trip!

  27. Oh and do we know the air date yet for this episode?

  28. If had gotten stuck in Gideon's office they would have had to have security remove you. You are such a Gideon lover. LOL. Love ya.

  34. Thanks for the preview scene. It sounds great. Can't wait to see the show when it comes on....waiting on pins and needles...

Being stuck without your camera was not good to hear...especially when in Gideon's office...
