I am confused. Wasn't this episode scheduled for before the Super Bowl? How are they refering to Reid's drug problem if this was an earlier episode? Sorry if this is a bad question. I am rather new to the show.
Oh -- and that probably explains what happened to Garcia. The original script with her scenes was probably cut so they could make time for the Reid scenes.
After watching the episode and a very long chat about it tonight with the Yahoo Group I am still on the edge about what to say about the episode. I liked it. And lets face it folks, SHEMAR can act. Criminal Minds is the first thing I have seen him in and he blows my mind. Incredible talent. This episode, even with his few snarky lines which personally I liked (sorry yahoo group), showcased him very well. I missed having Garcia in the episode. If you sneezed during the show then you missed Kirsten. That I never like. TG and MP were their same talented selfs. A.J. had a good night. Matthew keeps getting better and better. Imagine when he has a few more years of experience under his belt how far he will go. Wow.
Did I like the episode? Yes I did. The problem I am having is that "No Way Out", "The Big Game" and "Revelations" were so incredibly great that now a very good episode pales in comparision to me. My problem and I better get over it because there was nothing not to like about this episode. From the responses I have read from new viewers the show was a hit. Criminal Minds fans got a great Valentine's Day present tonight. Thanks to the actors! :)
Did it seem like they went out of their way to make sure we saw how attractive Morgan was? I'm especially thinking of the scene at the cemetary, the lingering shots of him in the sunglasses.
Don't get me wrong, he is a gorgeous man and there's nothing wrong with that. But it just felt like there was a lot of camera time going, "see, see, isn't he gorgeous?" Maybe I was more aware of it because of his interview where he talked about not wanting to be just pretty. I thought he did some fine acting in this ep, and I kinda wish they could have let that be the focus. Or am I just nuts?
I agree with you Jill--with the bar set so high with No Way Out, The Big Game, and Revelations, I think it must be really hard for the writers to satisfy us! It was a good episode.
I also liked Morgan in this one, espcially when the cop was dying and Morgan kept talking to him, trying to will him to live.
I think Lin hit on the reason why Garcia had such a small part in this one--to make way for the Reid flashbacks.
I think Garcia should have a good part in each episode--she is the lightness of the show and kind of like the barometer of the show--she gets to show all the emotions that the others try to suppress.
I am agreeing with all of you. I think "the bar is very high" and that is an awesome thing. The writers have climbed a mountain and now we have to see what the do while they are up there.
I did answer all the emails you forwarded to me last week and if you need help this week just let me know. I am here and ready to promote our show!!!!!
If they want to let the camera linger on Shemar for an extra ten seconds so we can see how beautiful he is, I'm good with that. And wow, he has become a really fine actor.
I think the conversation between Morgan and Emily was a good start, adn mentioning that she's still feeling pretty new to the group is kind of a good out for not having been outgoing before this.
Where was Garcia in this episode? Did I blink and miss her? Other than that it was a good episode.

ReplyDeleteNo, it's not a bad question at all. It's one we've kinda been scratching our heads over.
ReplyDeleteI can only think that they re-wrote or re-shot some of the Reid scenes to make it make sense, once they realized it was going to air later.

ReplyDeleteGreat episode as always. It's like the show can do no wrong. Thank God for Tivo!!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome caps. I need to rewatch the episode again tomorrow. I was so late getting home I really couldn't concentrate. I liked it though.
ReplyDeleteGreat caps. Sorry I missed chat tonight.
ReplyDeleteI'm still doing a happy dance around my living room...there was so much Morgan!!
ReplyDeletesnuggles to poor reid and way to be one helluva handsome hunk morgan.
ReplyDeleteI honestly had chills up my spine for that last 3 minute dialouge between Reid and Morgan. MGG is such a phenomenal actor, such raw emotion.

ReplyDeleteThis might sound stupid, but ...

Lin: I get what you are saying. He is always so good and last night even better than usual but the camera thing you mentioned well I did notice it.

ReplyDeleteWhat was everyone else's opinion of the opening conversation between Prentis and Morgan? I am still not feeling the love.
