"Coincidences are a true paradox… on the one hand they seem to be the source of our greatest irrationalities–seeing causal connections when science tells us they aren’t there. On the other hand, some of our greatest feats of scientific discovery depend on coincidences." Josh Tenenbaum
I was sorry to hear no ending of the episode quote. :(
ReplyDeletei really like the quotes.
ReplyDeleteGreat quote.
ReplyDeleteLove the quotes
ReplyDeleteGreat quote. I wonder who picks them each week. This was a nice selection.
ReplyDeleteI have really come to associating the show to having quotes. The show would seem incomplete without the quotes. I liked this choice.
ReplyDeleteI love taht quote, thanks for posting!

I love the quotes they use in the show. You have to think about them to really understand the meaning (I think I have to read this one again...)

that is a fantastic quote. I'd like to know who collects things like this for the show, because they have a lot of quotes like this.

I just re-watched "Empty Planet" again tonight and I'll be damned if I don't recall reading a short story or novella that had virtually the same plot as "Empty Planet" back in high school (this would have been '80, '81, or '82). As I recall, the story would have dated back to the early to mid '70s. Wish to hell I could remember more details about it, but I'm pretty sure it was the author's only well-known work, if not his/her only work. Hoping maybe this'll jog someone else's memory :c)
