CRIMINAL MINDS: "CRIM-I-CON"

Criminal Minds: As we are all now painfully aware of, due to the economy, Criminal Minds lost five writers last week. The response to this unfortunate development has been massive. I have received countless emails from around the world from CM fans who no longer want to attend or support the "Crim-i-con." While disappointing, we all must respect their decisions. This convention is a tremendous undertaking that requires a significant commitment of time, energy, and resources from everyone involved. However, we can no longer be certain of how many people would still like to attend, participate, or support this even, we, the Crim-i-con planning committee unanimously agreed that the "Crim-i-con" must be cancelled. We regret having to make this difficult decision. Thank you to the committee that worked so hard at arranging the convention.

CRIMINAL MINDS: A LETTER FROM DAN DWORKIN & JAY BEATTIE

Criminal Minds: A letter from Jay Beattie & Dan Dworkin to the fans of Criminal Minds:

Dear Fanatics,

As you may know we have become a casualty of the latest budgets cuts. We would love to continue writing twisted stories for you, but it appears that life has other plans for us. We'd like to thank all of you for your support and encouragement over the last two seasons, especially during the WGA strike. We have never, in all our years in television, come across a fan base so loyal and so dedicated. We will sorely miss slashing hookers, bludgeoning whole families, mutilating pets and putting psycho killers behind bars for you. Most of all we will miss the unique and talented individuals that make up the CM family. As we search for greener pastures let us leave you with this final quote:

"The world is round and the place which may seem like the end may also be the beginning." ~ Ivy Baker Priest

Sincerely,

Jay and Dan

CRIMINAL MINDS: A LETTER FROM HOLLY HAROLD

Criminal Minds: A letter from Holly Harold to the fans of Criminal Minds:

Friday, April 4th

To our Criminal Minds Fanatics and Fandom – a group I’ve had the great pleasure to meet both in cyberspace and in person – thank you. Thank you for your enthusiasm, thank you for your intelligent, honest and unflagging devotion to a show we all work so hard to produce, and most of all, thank you for your amazing support. As you know, for the first three seasons of CM, I was one of you – a fan. To have moved this year onto the writing staff of a show I so enjoyed and admired was honestly a dream come true, and I am only sorry that I won’t be continuing with CM next season. Being a part of this extraordinary team – the amazingly talented cast, the hardest working and most professional crew I’ve ever seen, and of course the unbelievable writing staff – has been a privilege and a pleasure.

Holly Harold

CRIMINAL MINDS: A LETTER FROM DEB FISHER

Criminal Minds: A letter from Debra J. Fisher to the fans of Criminal Minds:

Friday, April 3rd

To the Criminal Minds Fanatics and Fandom beyond:

Luckily, I had the opportunity to tell some of you personally last night after the chat with Paget, but I wanted to extend that same courtesy to all the Fanatics that were unable to attend.

After four seasons and 12 episodes of Criminal Minds, I've made a decision to move on to other projects. This decision was not made easily or without sadness, but I want all of you to know -- I have never had a writing experience like this before. I attribute that to an amazing group of people, the fans.

I am so happy that I was fortunate enough to work with such a wonderful writing staff, talented actors and the most hardworking, unflappable crew. The support you have shown to all of us and our creative endeavors is beyond anything I have ever been a part of. Please don't worry, I won't be far from the blog and will still be available for chats. Don't look at this as an ending; it's only a new beginning. For all of us...

From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Deb Fisher

CRIMINAL MINDS: A MESSAGE FROM ANDREW WILDER

Criminal Minds: A letter from Andrew Wilder to the fans of Criminal Minds:

April 3rd, 2009

Dear Criminal Minds Fandom,

I am writing to let you know that I was informed last week that I will not be returning for the fifth season of Criminal Minds. I need you all to know that while I will miss you all, I am completely at peace with this reality. My departure is no one's fault. The fact is that Hollywood is not immune to the devastating effects of the current economic downturn. Agonizingly painful decisions had to be made and I believe, whole heartedly, that in my case that decision was made correctly and made with love and respect. Please do not worry about me or my well-being. Someone had to go and it is just a well that it was me and not my dear friends and coworkers who will stay behind to keep the show alive and strong. Most importantly, I wanted to thank all of you, The Criminal Minds Fandom, for allowing me to entertain you. You are the true miracle of this wonderfully gruesome and twistedly touching show that we all care so much about. I don't think any of us who started out on this journey four years ago could ever have imagined that we would be blessed with such a loyal and enthusiastic following. I want to thank Ed Bernero, Simon Mirren, Chris Mundy, Erica Messer, Debra Fisher, Jay Beatie, Dan Dworkin, Holly Harold, Breen Frazier, and Oanh Ly for being the such supportive friends and creative coworkers this past season. I have learned so much from all of you. And of course I will be forever grateful to the diligent crew and brilliant cast who have brought Criminal Minds to life day in and day out for 4 years and counting. Writing can be tough but believe me when I tell you that it's nothing compared to what the CM crew goes through each and every day down on our set. They are truly the heart of the show and I can tell you they are going as strong as ever.

Goodbyes are always sad... and the best ones are short. I say good-bye to you knowing that the show that you and I love is left in the most capable hands possible. I know I'll be watching... and that is the most exciting part of all. Now I get to truly become part of the Criminal Minds Fandom! Thank You, CMF!!! See you around the blog.

Diane in Queens, N.Y.: The lack of Criminal Minds spoilers is killing me!
Lucky for you, then, that we just caught up with Kirsten Vangsness, and she told us the two finale episodes of Criminal Minds this season are "companion pieces" and that we should expect a year-end cliff-hanger, and that "I finally got to have some scenes with my real boyfriend on the show [Nicholas Brendon] and my real fake boyfriend, Shemar Moore, on the show. It's been a while since we got to aggressively flirt, so that's been good. And we have a callback [to past storylines]—we have some unsubs [returning] that you've seen before."

CRIMINAL MINDS: A. J. COOK KEEPS FIT.

Criminal Minds actress A.J. Cook is writing about her weight loss program on Health.com.

Criminal Minds actress AJ Cook is trying to shed her baby weight. Check back here each month to see how she’s putting Health’s Feel Great Weight plan to work.

Her story: “I gained 40 pounds during a difficult pregnancy on national TV! That was tough—it’s hard to see your body change and have no control over it. But now I want people to see that I have to work just as hard as anyone else to take it off. And I really feel strongly that it’s important to do it the healthy way.

Now that I’m back on the show, I have crazy hours, which makes things tricky. (That, and staying away from baked goods—I love a good vanilla or red velvet cupcake!)

But my goal is to get back to a toned and healthy body, even if I don’t get all the way back to my prepregnancy weight. And, honestly, I’m OK with that now because when I come home after a long day and see Mekhai smile at me it’s all worth it!”
