"It's true that one team member will not survive the season finally.....sorry."

Blake dying seems too easy and predictable, first Elle then Emily, then Emily again...that character position has seen enough in and out. We can assume from the much publicized contract negotiations that Morgan, Hotch, JJ, Garcia and Rossi are safe. Matthew still has another year on his contract so we don't have to worry about Reid yet either.... That all being said my instinct would be that either JJ's husband, Strauss or Kevin are on the way out. If I were writing it I would go with Kevin just because that would bring Garcia and Morgan closer to the horizontal healing but honestly I think that would end up ruining the dynamics of the show. So in the end I'm going to guess that it's Strauss who ends up dead.

Evidence:
Mantegna: A team member will die
Messer: A major character will die

I would now say that Blake is a major character. She´s only been there for one season, and I would say the "major" part refers to either: Reid, Morgan, JJ, Garcia, Hotch or Rossi.

As Morgan, Hotch, JJ, Garcia and Rossi just had their contract renewed, they are safe. So personally, I think it will be Reid (although I love him so much...)
And I know that before season 8, Matthew got a renewed contract for two seasons. I´m thinking that he will continue on behind the cameras, as a director or co-writer or something.

I really hate funerals and a change in dynamic. But I'll go with Strauss. Can't bear to think of loosing anyone. Still not over Emily. Lol

If Ref dies I'm not gonna watch the show anymore. I'll be too busy mourning :'(

I'm afraid it'll be Reid, which will break my heart. Matthew is a director first and foremost and has proven himself with the episodes he's directed. He's also been pretty quiet about CM on Twitter, compared to the rest of the cast.

I'm fairly certain it will be Strauss. Her 3 children are listed on the cast list and there is a pic about of the actress playing one of her daughters with KV both dressed in black as if for a funeral.

It can't be Reid, us Gubloids would go into withdrawal, complete with hair pulling and gnashing of teeth. Be merciful!

I think it's Strauss, too. She's been on another show recently The Following is over, but they could resarrect it. Also the commercial shows her saying, I don't want to die.. No one would miss her (not like the others). It wouldn't be CM without the men of CM.

Minisnupp said...

But is Strauss technically a team member? I would say no...

I think it'll be Strauss. Her three children are listed as guest characters. Since we've never seen them before, it would definitely make sense to bring them in for her funeral. I don't think it'll be one of the team.

Also, doesn't being section chief kind of makes her a team member? Sure, she's not out there in the field, but Garcia isn't either.

Minisnupp said...

But Garcia is in every episode, and part of the crime-solving. She IS a team-member

We barely see Strauss, just the rare episode. She is so not a team member.

Anonymous said...

I didn't mean that Garcia wasn't a team member. Of course she is.

Oh, I don't know. I just don't want anyone to die, the show suffered enough with Emiliy leaving.

I hope it's Strauss, that would be the easiest to take. If it's Reid, I hope he's the unsub. That would be the perfect way for him to go out...

I love CM and not even going to take a guess which one it will be. With my schedule I really hate that I can't watch every episode. It really sucks that one of the characters have to leave!

I highly doubt it'll be Reid, he's far too popular a character. If the fandom went into meltdown over losing Emily and JJ it'll be even worse if we lose Reid.

My money is on Strauss. Given everything she's been doing this season, making amends etc, it's as if the writers are tying up all the loose ends for her story. Also while I do know that making amends is something people in recovery groups do as a final step, in terms of writing it's like putting a big neon sign over a character saying 'They're going to die soon'

I think Strauss or Kevin died. I don't think that JJ' son or husband dies.

Last year they kept telling us a team member would be held hostage. And then it was Will. Here's hoping they mean the same 'team member' this year.

I find JM's and EM's statements to be be deceiving...I hope, at least, exaggerated. I don't consider Strauss to be an actual team member but certainly more so than Will,or Kevin. Are they "major?" Well, they are certainly more regular than any other guests...?!

Because we learned somewhere along the line earlier that Strauss' children are in this eppy, I would say, why else? unless their mom were to die, why would we be seeing them after all these years?

OTOH, Blake is a team member, and even tho' she has a two year contract, maybe she has asked to be let go? Maybe, since she has NOT been rec'd w/ open arms by the CM fans (I, personally, like her, but she seems very lo-key and not very high profile as the others, until just this past week.) I kinda agree w/ MengleOh67, too:)

But do they really need that many profilers? I would prefer they find another media liaison, altho' JJ's old shoes may be exceedingly hard to fill.

I def do NOT want it to be Matthew, as he is my fave and I would love for this show to continue two more years with the current team in tact (selfish me!)I hope you're wrong, Minisnupp!

And I prefer for that handsome, expressive face to be on my screen and not behind the camera, altho' that may be his desire, since we all know that he loves to direct and this season, he may well have proven himself enuf and TPTB may certainly be happy to offer him a directing position. Hope not, but just maybe.

Three long days 'til we learn the answer...fun to speculate, isn't it?

Minisnupp said...

OMG! Only three days, I haven't though about it that way! Its not long! :D

And gubegirl, I don´t really hope he goes either, because he is my favorite too! But looking at the evidence, I had to face the hard truth.

BUT it is suspicious that Strauss´daughters has been cast, which kind of weakens my theory...

But then again, who would The Replicator target? In ep 16, when they found that room with all the boards, there was a board each dedicated to Reid, Garcia, Hotch, JJ, Rossi and Blake.. Meaning that those are part of the Replicators obsession.
How does Strauss fit in with all of that? ...

Anonymous said...

I think we should all ask ourselves if they all actually signed new contracts. CBS is going to publicly say that they all have new contracts because if they said something like all except A.J. Cook (just picking a name randomly) signed contracts, then it gives away who it is that dies in the finale.

I think we are going to find out afterwards that one of the actors did not actually sign a new contract, and if I had to guess I am betting that it's Hotch that gets killed for reasons not worth getting into.

Anonymous said...

You might be right. Maybe Thomas Gibson wants to go back to comedy. Killing Hotch would change the whole dynamic of the show. But it came back stronger after Mandy Patinkin left. OTOH, Joe Mantegna & Shemar Moore have been having way too much fun with this. Could be one of them. I guess we'll just have to watch on Wednesday to find out.

Anonymous said...

I think it's Strauss. She is part of the team on a technicality.
All the main people have signed contracts, even Blake's character, and I love her.
Kevin is not on the team, he's on another team, and helps out with theirs occasionally...so it's not him.

What I want to hear is who we think the replicator is. He's replicating cases as old as ones that have Gideon in the picture. But there are no pics of him. I think Gideon went nuts, and it's him. OR it's Gideon's son getting revenge for keeping his Dad away from him, and then screwing him up in the end...lol!

I don't know really...
Uuugh, I talked with Kirsten just the other day, she's good at keeping all this a secret. Lol. But I know I'll be giving her a long hug after that episode airs.

Anonymous said...

I think it`s Strauss too. I think she puts herself in harm`s way to save a team member`s life as a way of making amends. Perfect ending for a character that everybody loves to hate.

Anonymous said...

What if the Replicator is Gideon?? Who else could know that much about them and be smarter than them?

pooh said...

Who is the Replicator??? I don't recognize him??

Anonymous said...

@Pooh - Mark Hamil played the Replicator. The role he is probably known best for is Luke Skywalker from Star Wars.

Hands down the BEST season finale EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was on the edge of my seat, eyes wide, forgetting to breath and my heart racing!

Please replace Blake bring in some one fresh she doesn't fit into the team try seleen miller or emily back

I actually never though of Straus when I was trying to figure out who would die. I quickly ruled out Blake though- she's too new. Hotch and JJ weren't going anywhere-they both have kids. Morgan and Reid have been in avery single episode of CM, I didn't dare think they would take one of those guys off after so long. So, my thought process came down to Rossi. I'm much happier about what really happened though.

Anonymous said...

Okay, so since when were Rossi and Strauss an item? That came out of the blue. If it was ever mentioned before my DVR must have missed a recording.
