CRIMINAL MINDS: STILL NO CONTRACT FOR THOMAS GIBSON

Criminal Minds: As we have been posting for months Thomas Gibson still has no contract for season seven. Deadline Hollywood posted an article yesterday about the situation.

From Deadline Hollywood: Exactly one month before CBS' Criminal Minds is scheduled to start production on its upcoming 7th season, there is still no deal for co-star Thomas Gibson. And word is that talks between the actor and CBS have stalled. That is creating an issue for the series' writers who convened at the beginning of last week to break stories and work on scripts for next season. Gibson's character, Supervisory Special Agent Aaron Hotchner, has been key to the show's storylines, so it would be difficult to map out next season without knowing if he will be back.

They have to bring him back. He is the reason I watch the show. His character is everything I wish I was, his character promotes hope.

This is insane. CBS needs to get this one fixed. They know what happened with A.J. Cook last summer and now this. You would think with the spin-off gone they would have their focus back on the original. Also the poll on this blog should tell them that without Thomas Gibson many fans will not be watching. CBS is just making themselves look bad having this happen repeatedly.

*sigh* I really can't believe that CBS continues to makes such bad decisions where Criminal Minds is concerned.

Sign Thomas so we can have our team back together. Erica seems like she has a lot of great ideas for Season 7. That has to include all 7 members of our cast.

**Fab 7 for Season 7**

No Hotch=No Watch

If they don't bring him back I won't be watching anymore. He is the anchor of the show and it won't be the same without him. CBS, please show him some respect and sign him right away! It's getting a little ridiculous now.

I see a thread has been started for this subject. Okay, I will just post my comment about this that I placed on the last thread which includes a comment by a poster named Peggy:

ABC Studios and CBS, stop trying to extract every dime you can from these actors, FOR YEARS, you have been paying these actors crap pay. You lucked out in that the contracts they had before did not reflect, nor could have it anticipated, the success the show was going to be. There is no denying that this show is a success and it is a success thanks to the cast, among which include Thomas Gibson. Stop trying to do everything in your power to destroy this show and for once, FOR ONCE, do right by this show without the fans having to write these sorts of messages to you!

Peggy said:

"The team is nearly intact except for Hotch. CBS, what in the hell is going on? I cannot believe that Thomas Gibson is asking for some overinflated amount of money per episode that you so willingly forked over to some of the actors on your other shows. Does the last name Sheen ring a bell? No, well, how about David Caruso who is the lead on a show that was just inches away from being canceled. The last time I read, David Caruso was making $375,000 per episode on a show that didn't even crack the top ten. What kind of foolery is this CBS!

According to Deadline, Criminal Minds came in 17th in series rankings for adults 18-49 (you know, the demo that pays the bills!), CSI Miami came in 42nd place. In total viewers, Criminal Minds came in 10th place (tying with CSI). CSI Miami came in 21st place.

Thomas Gibson is a big factor in what has led to the success of this show. Since day one, he has shown nothing but dedication to this show and has worked tirelessly along with the rest of this cast to turn this show into the success that it is, despite the dreadful lack of promotion on your end. Speaking of promoting the show, Thomas Gibson has appeared on many shows this past year promoting Criminal Minds. From what I know, David Caruso hasn't done nearly the amount of promotion for CSI Miami that Thomas Gibson has done for Criminal Minds. I'd think that earning $375,000 per episode would include doing a little promotion here and there, but I guess I'm wrong.

It is unbelievable to me that you would correct some of the errors that you've made this past season to only completely drop the ball on Thomas Gibson. You have been kicking this show in the teeth since the end of season 4 when you fired the majority of the shows top writers and for the life of me I don't know why. If money is an issue in these negotiations, then PAY UP! Thomas Gibson has more than earned his keep and then some!"

CheetoBreath said...

Seriously? Seriously??!! I just can't imagine Criminal Minds without Aaron Hotchner. I love the rest of the cast too but this would ruin the show for me. Please work it out with TG. I don't want to stop watching but Hotch is my favorite character and it just won't be the same without him.

Ana Vicente Ferreira said...

Okay. Now I'm worried. The writers have been back to work for almost a week, filming starts in about a month, they're cutting it awfully close. I can't even imagine how the show would work without him.

Maria said...

I've posted two comments at Deadline and this is the perfect mix of both

It seems as if CBS/ABC Studios have learned nothing about this last season disaster. Maybe they think that losing AJ and Paget didn't damage the ratings badly enough than losing a different cast member now that they are both back is going to have the same outcome.

Their problem is that most of the Criminal Minds fan-base is feed up beyond belief with their idiotic antics and, even if they have stayed mostly put during this season to see the girls out and support the rest of the cast, losing Thomas Gibson will be the end. He and his character are just too important for this show and for the fans.

- Fans that have helped maintain the ratings steady against the ratings monsters that Fox and ABC schedule in the same time-slot (how happy people on those networks will be if Criminal Minds loses Thomas Gibson!).

- Fans that know he has been underpaid and generally under-appreciated for too long.

- Fans that know that this show effectively needs ALL its cast members, but as 25 to Life so graphically showed, it desperately needs Hotch to keep everybody else in character and believable as FBI agents. Without Thomas Gibson’s character we will get a very different Criminal Minds as will the rest of the 12-14 millions of viewers the show week after week gets… And know what? A great chunk of those fans/viewers didn’t like a “different” Criminal Minds and switched channels (Do I need to remember that the spin-off has been canceled due to its poor ratings!?)

CBS/ABC Studios may think they know what the fans and viewers like about this show. It would be wise of them to rethink those beliefs and listen to what the fans are really saying when they state:

ALL THE FAMILY, ALL THE TIME
NO HOTCH, NO WATCH

Lin in Ohio said...

I want to say comforting things like, "Oh, CBS can't possibly be that stupid ..." but then I look at their track record.

We need our Hotch back!

CheetoBreath said...

Just to clarify, I don't *want* to stop watching. But no Hotch would be the straw that broke the camel's back for me and I wouldn't be able to watch the show anymore. :(

sf81387 said...

I've found that I've become completely exhausted by this and refuse to invest any further energy or emotion in this nonsense. I find that it makes me feel extremely annoyed with both Thomas Gibson and the network for not having the common courtesy to just end this one way or another and I don't want to feel annoyed with anyone or anything especially TG.

So, I'll just hope for the best and prepare for the worst. If the two parties can't agree to something that works for both of them then I'll wish Thomas the best and no longer watch Criminal Minds. I will still continue to watch other programs I enjoy on CBS though as I don't see the network as the villains. They haven't fired him, they've apparently offered him a job. If it's not the job he's interested in and he decides to find a better situation for himself then I support that, respect that and wish him well, but I just don't see either side as being wrong here.

Maryanne said...

"The show is looking for cast stability after the drama surrounding co-stars A.J. Cook, Paget Brewster and Rachel Nichols this past season."

THIS! THIS! THIS!

Make a smart decision CBS, you were doing so great with AJ and Paget back and Seaver gone...

Teresa H. said...

I will have very mixed feelings if TG is not back on CM, I have mixed feelings now. I want him back and can't imagine the show without him. His portrayal of Hotch, the strong team leader of an eclectic band of brothers and sisters was what most drew me to the show and kept me watching through the awful S6.
I don't see any victimization of Thomas here. As far as I can see he holds lots of cards and is obviously looking for the best deal he can get. He probably knows exactly what he wants. I wish him luck and hope he gets it.
If he doesn't then he may be ready to move on.
Having seen him in other things I know he is capable of playing different roles and there is a huge part of me: the TG fan separate from the CM fan who would love to see him in meatier roles.
Something that is not a formulaic TV show, good and all as this one has been in the past.
Now I'll get back to my house cleaning, checking in here every so often to read other people's gems of wisdom. Not expecting to find good news on Thomas.

Velandra said...

I woke up this a.m. hoping for good news instead I get this. I would say let's put our faith in TPTB but after the AJ/Paget situation and the epic fail that was S6 and Seaver i have no more faith. If they thought fan uproar was bad before they haven't seen anything yet. CBS PLEASE dont make the same mistake again..... sign T.G.!!!! As much as I love this show and the entire cast I don't think I could watch a Hotchless CM.

Jessica, NJ said...

I'm sorry, CM, I've been a loyal fan for 6 years, I even lasted during this season, but I'm going to say it, I'm NOT watching this show without Gibson.

I put up with losing JJ, my favorite female character, I held strong when we lost Emily, I even tried with Seaver, but losing Hotch is too much. I'm not saying I'm going to give it a try, I'm not saying I'm going to see it once in awhile, I'm saying I'm not watching the next season, period.

I really, really thought CBS had learned at least ONE thing about the MESS they created last season, I can't believe they may be repeating their mistakes from last season.

You better bring Thomas Gibson back, otherwise I'm automatically done with Criminal Minds and every other show in your network too.

Steph said...

I watch CM for Thomas, so if he isn't back, that viewship will end, which would be a travesty given TG's totally overlooked contribution to making the show such a success. You can bring back 2 actresses and double the pay of another, CBS. Surely you can give your lead a raise and re-sign him? This is getting stupid.

NO HOTCH NO WATCH.
ALL of our family, ALL of the time!

Amy said...

CBS, did you SEE the disaster that was 25 to Life?! I will never EVER watch another Hotchless episode of Criminal Minds. So pleeeease re-sign my favorite character so I can continue to enjoy CM.

No Hotch/TG No CM 4 me.

Pilar said...

sf81387's opinion may not be the most popular one here, but I have to agree with it completely. Although if TG does not return, which will be very unfortunate, I will continue to watch to show for another season or half a season. Because that's exactly how long the show will last, no longer than that.

CMFAN11 said...

This is really making me mad.

you can't have CM w/o hotch he's the glue along with JJ

CBS SIGN HIM ALREADY! YOUR CUTTING IT WAY 2 CLOSE!

What annoys me most is that they have money now that CM:SB is cancelled so why not give him what he wants?

Come on CBS! We Want Our CM Family back

No Hotch/No Watch

sf81387 said...

What annoys me most is that they have money now that CM:SB is cancelled so why not give him what he wants?

I think that each program has it's own contained budget and that one has nothing to do with the other. Whatever space the cancellation of CM:SB created will be filled up by another CBS production with it's own budget.

gubegirl said...

Good grief, would they actually try and turn around all their other mistakes from last season and then let this one go unheeded?

Who is running the show? Are they on vacation? PLEASE: Get the job done and seal the deal.

We need to stop worrying and you are belaboring this WAY too long, CBS, ABC or whomever!

We want Hotch!

P.S. Thanks for the new thread:) I needed that...

If someone feels like they have been getting paid a low salary for years, it does not make them wrong to stand up and ask for what they should rightly get in comparison to what the company they work for is making off of them. Unfortunately, there is a reason why there are minimum wage laws in the U.S. and that is because people were trying to exploit workers by paying them salaries and basically telling them, "Well, it's a job, do you want it or not?" Of course, Thomas Gibson does not fall within the minimum wage scenario I have put forth here, but it is similar in that in comparison to what the show has grossed for ABC Studios and CBS both in its current season and syndication, versus what Thomas Gibson brings to the table, he has been getting terriby underpaid. That sounds funny to say because what he and earns in one episode is what many of us won't ever earn in a year, but in that world, that industry, that type of money is what is at play and for that industry what these actors are making per episode for a show of this popularity is dreadful.

So, I say, Thomas Gibson, hold your ground because you have gone over and beyond the measure of what they are paying you and if they are not willing to recognize your worth to the show, then it will not only be their loss, but the loss of the viewers, many of whom will tune out if you are no longer there.

ABC Studios and CBS, please stop undercutting the worth of the actors on this show. It is a dreadful and negative reflection on the character and integrity you purport to have as a corporation.

Rosie said...

While I agree that it takes 2 to tango, I think that CBS has the means (and then some!) to offer TG a deal he is willing to sign. Their (CBS) choice not to do so would be foolish, in my opinion, and would not bode well for the show. If TG should decide to pursue other projects, he will be just fine and it will be CBS' loss. I wish TG all the very best whatever that may be!

Pilar said...

Does anyone know how much TG is/was making??? Last I heard it was $100,000 an episode. Not sure if that is correct.

Rebecca said...

ITA ^ Rosie. Thomas doesn't seem a likely person to overstate his worth or ask for too much. He has also made it perfectly clear that he would like to stay on CM, so I highly doubt the 'stall' is at his end, just CBS being stupid yet again and tinkering with our cast. It should be pretty obvious (I don't know how many times we need to jump up and down to get our point across):

NO HOTCH NO WATCH.
ALL of our family (of which TG is the head) ALL of the time!

Re-sign TG!

Anonymous said...

How much TG is earning is completely irrelevant. The fact is that his performances for 6 seasons have been incredible, his character is far from being fully developed and is a crucial part of the team give him reason to ask for a raise. Who are we to judge what is 'enough'?! CBS needs to stop messing with our show, sign TG and let us fans relax. So sick of their stalling to get publicity and $. Like they don't earn billions to start with...

NO HOTCH NO WATCH!

OK, having left down the dust rag for a few minutes and gotten rid of the broken flower pot - it's funny how life goes on - I'm back with another two cents. As others have said on previous threads, I'm imagining that this is not really about money but about creative issues and/or a more humane lifestyle for his family. Or maybe only a hell of a lot more money will make up for the crazy schedule he has right now. But what do I know? Let me back to my scrubbing and polishing which at least I know something about and even still break things.

This whole situation has become like an old, tasteless joke (not saying it's a joke, just a comparison.)

I hear the same thing ("No Contract for Thomas Gibson") over and over again until it becomes old. And then eventually it's so annoying that I don't want to hear it anymore.

There's been so much drama off-screen over the last year that I fear that it will be the show's downfall.

While I thought '25 to Life' was fine, it was indeed lacking, and I'd rather not see anymore Hotch-less episodes. Therefore, like most, I will not watch S7 without him. The interesting thing is, he is not my favorite character but I will be the first to admit that he is needed.

Enough of this B.S. already and let the fans know so we can either mourn or look forward to a new season.

Excuse me, CBS, is Thomas Gibson asking for 1.25 million/episode like Mr. Bad Life Choices Sheen or anywhere near what the CSI actors make?
David Caruso (CSI: Miami) $375,000
Marg Helgenberger (CSI) $375,000
Laurence Fishburne (CSI) $350,000
Gary Sinise (CSI: NY ) $275,000
And their shows rating average between 10 or 11 million viewers, while Criminal minds gets between 12 and 14 million viewers, against American Idol!

So, no, I'll still be holding CBS completely responsible in case Thomas Gibson is not back.

Or they think we can forget what they did with 3 women this past season? AJ Cook, Paget Brewster AND Rachel Nichols.
Show some respect and earn your viewers, CBS!

It is ridiculous that Thomas Gibson does not have a contract. CBS needs to step up and get this done. Did they not learn anything from last year??? TG has been so integral to this show and has provided us with an amazing character to watch each week. He is an incredibly gifted actor and is a good guy on top of that. He promotes CM alot and is generous with his time with fans be it his tweeing or the chats. In fact, isn't he now out promoting CM and with no contract at that????

CBS needs to just get this done so that we can happily look forward to season 7 of our beloved show. If that doesn't happen, no matter how much I love the remainder of the cast, I will not be watching next season and neither will almost everyone I know.

I am THE die hard CM fan. From episode one. I even watched the not so great S6 hoping that it would get better. A great disappointment!! I am a fan of CM, not some mess that TPTB seem to want to foist on me. Once Mandy left(of his own volition) and Joe got settled in, the cast was perfect. The writers knew the characters and there was a good mix of profiler-centric(most) and unsub-centric(occasional) episodes. Then someone broke my show. Bad cast decisions and bad writing. What I would like to see is: 1. All writers must watch S1-S5 so they know who the characters are. 2. Feature our team(all the team) doing more investigating, profiling and running the bad guys down. And less following in the unsub’s footprints throughout the whole show. 3. Keep the team intact. I am also a die hard TG fan, but I wasn’t until CM. It is perfectly reasonable to stop watching a show when it is twisted into something you don’t recognize. And I don’t recognize CM without Hotch. No TG no CM for me.

Adrienne said...

While we don't know what the sticking point may be with regard to Thomas Gibson's negotiations, I can't imagine that he is asking for a private jet to fly him back and forth from Texas to California or that he is asking for 2 million dollars per episode. Considering how miserably he and the rest of the actors on the show have been getting paid (and yes, in Hollywood circles for a show of this success level these actors have been getting paid CRAP), I would think that there would be some more bend on the networks side.

I'm sick of all of this drama and the general lack of respect that you have shown to the actors who built this show up for you to line your pockets full of money with. What you did to both AJ and Paget was despicable and now, for whatever the reason may be, you are trying to do the same with Thomas Gibson. What you have corrected with AJ and Paget will only busrt into flames if you attempt to do the same with Thomas Gibson. Start showing that your CARE by treating this cast with the respect that actors on a top 10 show should receive.

I assume that was directed towards me??? If so, I don't think I ever said it was or was not relevant. I just asked how much!! And of course he is entitled to a raise, but we don't know how much he is asking for or how much was offered. We really don't know what the hold up is, we just know there is one.

Quoting the article:

"Despite not having a deal, Gibson has been fulfilling all Criminal Minds obligations. He mingled with international buyers at the LA Screenings and is currently in Europe."

You see, this is the kind of actor, professional, man you should be fighting to keep on your lineup, CBS/ABC.
Why don't you make an effort and show us that all the good you have been doing lately, with AJ Cook and Paget Brewster back was just the beginning?

You forgot that we know whatever the hold-up is it's all CBS's fault. ; )

The last time star salaries were revealed it had TG making 100K an episode and JM making 125K an episode.

I wonder if a raise for TG equals an automatic raise for JM? I don't know for sure, but if I were the betting kind, I'd bet JM has something in his contract that stipulates that he will be the highest paid actor on the show.

*Takes a deep breath* I'm really getting desperate. And it's so silly, because it's just a tv show and just a character and it's not that I don't have other problems in my life (solvable problems though, no need for pity at all, I'm still a mostly happy person :) ) but this TG-contract drama is tiring and annoying beyond reason. Here I was thinking or rather hoping "hey, TG is in Monaco promoting CM, surely that must mean he has a contract or is at least close to a deal". Today, I come here and not only does TG have no contract yet, the negotiations are stalling too? ABC/CBS are you kidding? Or is it TG? I don't understand all of this and it just can't be about money alone. There have to be other issues as well. TG said he wants to be back, therefore I really doubt he would make unreasable demands he knows ABC/CBS would never meet. So what's this all about. I know my asking is moot since no one other than TG and his representatives on one side and the representatives negotiating for the network on the other side know what all this is about. But, with the writers back and a mere months before they start shooting, they will have to plan the whole season without Hotch at the moment, right? That means there is no chance we will get good Hotch storylines or scenes for season 7.

pearlseattle said...

I have so much respect for TG right now, because he knows what he wants, he knows what he's worth and he is ready to fight for it. Good for him!!

Better for him to take the time to negociate and sign a contract that he won't regret later.

And I really cannot imagine CBS taking the chance to lose a fans favorite after what they experienced last year! They surely cannot be that stupid! Right?

CBS WINS THE 2010-2011 SEASON IN VIEWERS

CBS is America's Most Watched Network for the Eighth Time in Nine Years

Network Places Second Behind Fox and Ahead of ABC and NBC in Adults 18-49 for the FIFTH Consecutive Year

CBS has the #1 Scripted Program on all SEVEN Nights of the Week

Network Has 12 the Top 20 Programs in Viewers, Including the Top Five Dramas and Top Two Comedies

CBS Has More Top 10 Scripted Programs Among Adults 18-49 Than any Other Network

Sounds like they must be doing something right. : )

No, they probably don't sing that, probably something with a little more kick than that. I'm thinking they could ask the cast of Without A Trace for some suggestions, or any of the actresses that CBS seemed fit to toss out and undercut on any one of their other crime dramas. I'm sure they have wonderful song suggestions for them.

Sorry, but I am not going to join the praise train for CBS. I'm not saying they are all bad, but they aren't a network that I am going to be doing back-flips for either, specifically not for Les Moonves and Nina Tassler, but go ahead and celebrate all you'd like though. I am not going to crash your party :)

sf81387 said...

I'm not having a party or on any kind of praise train. I'm not just not of the belief that the network is evil and therefore it is ALL their fault Thomas Gibson doesn't have a contract. I haven't taken a side because in order to do that I'd have to know exactly what is going on and since I have no clue I can't really accuse one party or the other of being unreasonable.

I love TG and I'll support whatever decision he makes, but that's as far as I'm willing to go without any facts.

Like I said, based on their history with not just the examples that I gave mind you, I will not give them the benefit of the doubt. Not saying that I think they're good just that I imagine this is a very cutthroat business with some very tough cookies in executive positions.

It probably is a very cut throat business and sometimes network executives have to make difficult decisions that affect many people's lives, but in the end it's business, it's not personal and the majority of the actors have been around long enough to know how it works. Perhaps the high pay is somehow a compensation for the known lack of job security.

I know I could never do it. My skin isn't thick enough to be an actor and I'd never be able to be cut-throat enough to be a network executive, but it's the life all those people choose and for the most part it seems like it's seems like it's a life that makes them happy.

This show had enough drama going on onscreen, we don't need it behind the scenes as well! All the crap from this godawful nightmare that became season 6 became like a bad soap opera. Or an even worse April Fool's Day joke that no one wants to end.I frankly am down to my last 1/2 of a nerve with all this, and wonder if any show is worth putting up with all this?I used to enjoy watching this at one point, up until the end of season 5 that is. After that it went to hell in a handbasket. I could be here for days stating why.Without the entire team on board, it will not work, nor be Criminal Minds at all. It just turns into 'regular old cop crime show'.Judging from the many comments I have seen, if CBS does not 'grow some' and get this team back together, they may as well lock the studio doors and turn out the lights, because no one will be tuning in.
My patience meter has long since expired. It started about a year ago, and I think it is time to just say byebye to all this crap.I think I will stick to the cartoon and weather channels!
Oh, and the good old days of CM season 1-5 on dvd. Before CBS went insane, that is.

I am appalled by the somewhat lack of appreciation CBS/ABC Studios are showing or have shown to the actors and actresses on Criminal Minds. Most of them not only fulfill their contract duties, but they go above and beyond to reach out to fans. CBS has already made numerous mistakes with the cast shake ups for Season 6 and I am glad they have rectified their mishaps by bringing AJ and Paget back into the show. They have the means ($$$$$$$) to pay their actors and actresses well, as evident by some of the grossly paid actors in other CBS series, and since they expressed the desires to have Thomas Gibson back for Season 7+, then they should do right by him and pay him for what he deserves!

This show is a success because of cast/characters chemistry, and Hotch is the GLUE that holds this team together.

SHOW OF FAN FORCE FOR TG!!!

CM would not be CM without Hotch. He is the anchor of the team. We die-hard CM fans have stuck with CM through an unimaginably hard S6, and our heroic cast did a yeoman's job with convoluted scrips needed to accommmodate unwanted, unwelcome cast changes. Please, please do the only thing that's right and give TG a raise if that's what he requires to sign on for S7. The show could very well crater without the team leader...zillions of fans would boycott. We've come so far...don't lose the race five yards from the finish line!!! We long-suffering CM fans deserve to see our whole team reunited for S7!

CMFAN11 said...

I just don't get why there at a stalemate? I mean CBS NEEDS him back. CM can't function without him next season because he's so crucial to the beginning of the season storylines. And he wants to come back.

So will someone please blink and find some common ground so we can go on 2 an awesome S7. I mean really it shouldn't be that hard 2 give him what he wants or at least find a common number for a contract. I just hope he signs and soon! CBS owes us fans for S6's mistakes.

I love ion. It's so nice to be able to sit down and get lost in old episodes. To go back to a time before all the behind the scenes drama and OOC writing. Hopefully T.G. will sign, our team will all be back together and we can get back to the storytelling of days gone by. Or maybe that's just wishful thinking.

Rosie said...

Me too, Velandra. Season 6 started off okay but after JJ and Prentiss were gone, it quickly went south for me. I really hope that things will work out so that our BAU family can be complete again. Otherwise, I too will be watching only the older seasons. Not interested in another train wreck like Season 6 was.

The longer CBS waits, the more they are shooting themselves in the foot. The writers won't be able to write well. Let's get this going, CBS, and we can ALL rest easy!! PLEASE!!!

Ok, so you give SM a doubling in salary but there's issues with TG?! Come on! CBS, you earn billions! Give your LEAD and total glue of our team a raise and a new contract!

Season 6 blew chunks, with the exception of JJ & Emily's exits, which should never have been. Hotch was pushed to the background and it was obvious how much his influence was missed. For the love of all things CM, give Thomas Gibson a raise and some respect for a novel change!

Refuse to watch another Hotchless episode. Refuse to watch CM without my favorite character.

No TG/Hotch, No CM.

Hey CBS,

Do you want to know what kept me tuning in last season, despite losing JJ and Prentiss and being subjected to the god-awful Seaver? That's right -- HOTCH. Needless to say, if Hotch goes, then I'm going too. Buh-bye.

Patti said...

How many ways do CM fans have to say it? Thomas Gibson is the glue that holds the BAU team together, as others have already pointed out. CBS, learn by past mistakes. We WANT HOTCH, we NEED HOTCH!

ALL our team, ALL the time! More Hotch!

Charlie-loser-Sheen: millions.
Thomas-good guy, Cm promoter: no contract.
Hotch's importance to CM: priceless.

Give TG a contract worthy of the lead actor that he is, for what he's done for the show and for its fans.

I love this show but I won't watch it anymore if TG isn't back.

No Hotch, NO Watch!

I should not be this invested in a TV show. But i am. I should not be this invested in a fictional character. But i am. I never thought i'd be this invested in a celebrity. But i am. This is what it is - maybe CBS and TG are both trying to give me back my life. Very thoughtful of you, i must say.

My only real concern at the moment is that we're getting tired and don't know how much emotional energy we have left to fight. Yet again. For me, it's been like winning the battles with our lovely ladies and losing the war with our unit chief. That's exactly what i'm afraid of.

25 To Life wasn't a disaster, for the record.

We'll sit back and see what happens.

CMFAN11 said...

I really hope he signs soon or they come to an agreement on a fair amount that he deserves. I would be bummed out if they cancelled CM and we never got to wee prentisses return storyline and how that unravels. And hopefully the return to the old ways of writing and our CM family back together. Come on CBS! Have you learned nothing from last years mistakes? Sign him already! Production starts in a month and the writers have already begun! Don't ruin S7 for us fans! You freakin owe us for S6!

Aaron Hotchner is the character that transforms the team into a Team and elevates the show out of pure procedural status. I might watch CM without him, but I doubt I would invest as much in it as I do.

And I happen to *like* that 'stache -- but I wonder whether it's a subtle signal that he's changing his appearance because he's looking for other employment.

Tiecollector said...

You can get rid of JJ and it's still Criminal Minds - after all, it's the show that matters. You can get rid of Prentiss and it's still Criminal Minds - after all, it's the show that matters. You can get rid of Hotch and it's still Criminal Minds - after all, it's the show that matters. And next year you can get rid of the rest of the cast - and it's still Criminal Minds - after all it's the show that matters.

But what IS the show? It's the cases, the stories, the intensity of the emotions, the eternal fight Good vs. Evil. Yes, that's what makes it a good show, a show people are interested in watching. But what makes it an exceptionally great show, a show with a unique signature that people keep coming back to because they get emotionally involved, because they develop this high a level of commitment, is The Team - the individual characters that have grown into a family over the years, the "heroes" the viewers have bonded with, have suffered with, and their own personal stories that are intrinsically tied to the crimes they solve.

No member of this family is dispensable (past events haven proven this time and again); the characters we've come to love and respect and identify with are the show's signature. And it took these one-of-a-kind individuals (characters and actors) being transformed into a wonderful team to make the show the intelligent, exceptional, successful show it is.

Don't change that signature, or the show will lose its inimitability and become unrecognizable and just an also-run.

Thank God I have obligations that get me away from this computer.
Oh my lord! I've just remembered something. I grew up in Ireland, very Catholic. My mother and her sisters would write to each other very week. They were always saying Thank God but they would shorten it to TG!!!!
What would Freud make of that?

I am ready to throw in the towel on this whole thing and move on to another show and network. My patience and tolerance only last so long, and I am afraid they have been used up and then some the past year with these people and their insanity. We had to lose two of our leads, put up with the new chick being shoved in, lame writing from people who seem to know zilch about the characters(would it kill you guys to maybe watch some previous seasons for some facts and then get them right?),the gradual disappearance and complete waste of Spencer Reid, and a season that seemed a complete waste of time considering we went through two emotional goodbyes for nothing.
As a fan who is close to being a former one, I feel cheated by these people for investing all this time. And not in a very forgiving mood about it either.I would like to watch my show in peace without wondering who is going to even be there or not anymore. CBS seems hell bent on destroying the show altogether and sending it down the ratings to oblivion.Without Thomas, that is what they will most likely get.
Hotch is my second favorite character just behind our beloved Spencer Reid, who is basically a guest star there nowadays.A complete insult and waste of Matthew's talent. His turn comes around next year for negotiations I believe?Who could blame him if he wanted to go?
As bad as it all is now, the possibility of him not being around is just gut wrenching for me,as Spencer Reid and Matthew's briliant portrayal of him were THE draw for me from day one.I think I will get out while the getting is good and stick to my dvd's.
It has been a whole year of letdowns, one after the other, and we do it all again a year from now with Matthew's contract.Which will be harder than any of the other happenings,IMHO.
So perhaps it is time to say 'that's all folks'. I have just plain had it with all this.

*Ramble Alert On*
Rosie, maybe he is not in a stressful situation, maybe he knows where his contract is at, maybe he doesn't care, maybe he is a naturally happy person, who knows. (The rest of this ramble is not directed at you.) I am just wary of thinking of celebrities as either wonderful (read perfect) human beings or scumbags (read Sheen - i think it will soon be a word in the dictionary. I'll 'verb' it soon). Truth is, we don't know. We can surmise what little we can from their interviews, tweets, what have you, but we can really never know unless they are our neighbours or first cousins or pet parrots. My point is that i think TG comes across as The Great Deflector - he always finds a neat way of deflecting any questions about his personal life (and about in-jokes among the cast and crew). That he is engaging and humourous and kind while doing it is good enough for me and for that i am very grateful - i find it odd (in a good, interesting way) that i have seen bits of his study/kitchen, a third of his left foot, or a quarter of his neck on twitter. But i don't want to put him up on a pedestal and castigate CBS without knowing what's what. And i certainly don't want to say 'poor Thomas'. I really like the guy he comes across as, but i'll reserve judgement on this issue till there is more detail and it is resolved one way or the other.

I won't watch Minds w/o Hotch either, but i'd say the same about Reid, Morgan, Rossi, Garcia, JJ and Prentiss. A lot has been missing this season and it's the writing, thrown off by a lack of balance. Take away any one character and it shows (and god knows it has shown this season). However, for me Hotch gone would be the final straw. But unlike a lot of fellow TG fans, i don't think he is the lead on the show - nobody is! Losing any one of them is "in essence" an irreplaceable loss; so we can't afford any, any more.

If i made a modicum of sense, I'd be happy.

Teresa H - I was listening to some Umebayashi last night and i couldn't stop thinking about Hotch. Very 'haunted', 'damaged' and beautiful. No idea about the degree or quality of obsession, but let's just say the prognosis isn't very encouraging (for me).

To the Cheerful Twitterer, always :-)

You made some very good points in your ramble.
I too think Thomas is a very good deflector. He does it with wit and grace and we love him for it. I remember hearing an interview he did, no idea with whom or when. He was talking about the his fans and said something about how he appreciated his great fans but that they don't change who he is. There is still a private person there, warts and all, whom we don't get to see. I admire his skill at handling that.
So you're right, we have no idea whether or not he's stressed, or feels he has the upper hand, or is just going to take this great, all expenses paid family holiday in a beautiful place.
As much as I have to admit to not knowing who he really is I would be willing to bet that he is not as attached to CM as we the fans are. This has been a great longterm gig for him and he seems to have enjoyed it. That's a lot right there in anyone's life.

Rosie said...

Eleven,

True. Who knows? Maybe this is all just a publicity stunt. We don't know all the details. I am only going off what few infos we have been given.

I think the fact that he is willing to hold his ground this late in the game says that he may be willing to just move on unless the incentive to stay is really really good.

I agree with your ramble about celebs and pretty much the rest of your post as well. :)

CBS needs to man up and fulfill all of TG's demands. If he wants more money, I am in full support of him. For years, the entire CM cast has been underpaid while those of other less successful shows make so much more money than these guys! It's just unfair. Time for CBS/TPTB to recognize this cast's worth and give in to their wishes. Give them the respect they deserve! If TG, being the lead is having trouble getting them to meet his needs, imagine what will happen next year when MGG's contract will be up for renewal. CBS needs to stop being greedy tight-asses. And I've had enough. If they lose any other cast member now, I'm done. Although Reid is my favourite, I've grown attached to all of them (with the exception of Rossi). They all make CM together, and last season was a perfect example of how the dynamics were all over the place when they messed with our girls. You simply cannot take out integral parts of a body, shove in something that doesn't fit, and expect the body to function perfectly. It doesn't work.
I won't watch CM without Hotch, Morgan, JJ, Reid, Emily, and Garcia. Last season was painful, and I refuse to subject myself to another season of that kind.

CMFAN11 said...

Have you all been sending complaints on the CBS website to know how important it is 2 have the full cast?

@Eleven,

I agree hotch isn't the main character, they all have a major role in the show. I don't know why CBS is so he'll bent on pissing us fans off. I wish this show was stable again. That's all I really want. I'm tired of all the behind the scenes drama as well. I'd much rather be talking about the episodes of S7 and guessing about the storylines instead of wondering who's getting booted off the CM island next.

Will someone please make a fair contract or be happy with the amount given? I dont even care anymore how they get it done anymore.

In theory we should get some solid news within next month since production starts then. I just hope this hasn't ruined Emily's return storyline as well as the first half of the season.

God I hope this is just a publicity stunt.

MKT said...

I shouldn't be darn invested in a character, but unfortunately I am and that's Hotch. I hated seeing so little of him in S6 and hate to see a good guy be put through this crap by CBS. He deserves a raise and to be earning the same as leads on other shows. You gave SM a raise, now its time to pay TG. This show wouldn't be the same and as much as I liek the sounds of S7, I'll not watch another epi without Hotch. And pushing him into the background again won't wash either. He's our team leader, he's our glue. Quit messing with CM, increase its budget and pay these actors their worth for making the show so successful.

And I'm afraid that has already happened. The writers are planning season 7 for a week now, all major storylines and plots should be lined out by now. Without Hotch obviously, since they have no way of knowing if he'll be back. If TG returns, and at the moment I think that's not going to happen anyway, he can only be given some random lines and he'll be even more in the background than in season 6. It's also possible that filming for season 7 starts and TG gets his contract later. That would mean he'll miss out the first couple of episodes. The episodes which deal with the return of JJ and then Prentiss. Hotch is being pivotal to these storylines and he's likely not even going to be there?
I'm dreading this scenario.

I agree with your comment, MKT. I’m far too invested in Hotch and CM; and spend an inordinate amount of time commenting, blogging and tweeting in support of this show and its cast. It is really frustrating and exhausting to always seem to have to launch an appeal to the network to leave our show alone. But all of that would come to a screeching halt if Thomas Gibson leaves. He’s the reason I watch and the reason my Wednesdays are so important. CM is an event, not just a TV show.

I was so looking forward to season 7. I was looking forward to the return of AJ and Paget; and looking forward to the prospects of some good Hotch/Prentiss interaction, finally; since we didn’t have any in Season 6. Geez, we didn’t have much Hotch in Season 6, so I was hoping Erica Messer would more than make up for that in Season 7. Now there’s a possibility we will not have Thomas back.

I don’t blame TG for negotiating to get what he deserves. Compared to the leads of CBS’ other shows that do not perform as well as CM in demos or total viewers, TG is grossly underpaid. He may make more than most of us; but compared to industry standards, his salary is low and that’s the only measure that matters. He/we didn’t make the rules, but he certainly is entitled to maximize his value within the framework that’s established.

More power to him, I hope he’s able to get what he’s demanding; and I hope it doesn’t mean we’ll lose him. But that’s the risk he has to take for what’s important to him. CBS has demonstrated that it will stupidly support other less worthy stars through drug use, abuse and idiotic behavior. TG is a class act and always an ambassador for CBS and CM. It’s about time he reaps the value of his worth.

I’m hoping this all ends well. I really would hate to have to give up my weekly CM event for something far less satisfying like Modern Family or the X-Factor. I know ION doesn’t air repeats against CBS’ CM episodes, so that’s not an option. But no way can I watch CM, without Thomas Gibson; that’s just not happening!

CMFAN11 said...

I just hope they reach an agreement in time to save S7's storylines and prentisses return which hotch has a crucial part in.

The saving grace is that maybe after he's been such a greay employee promoting CM WITHOUT a contract, that maybe CBS will realize that they need him more and get their priorities in line.

although i'm freaking completely out I'm trying 2 stay postive bcCBS asked him back and they got the girls back so hopefully it'll work out soon.

A couple of years ago I was pretty much climbing the walls between seasons 4 and 5 waiting to see what would happen to Hotch - this time it's a different type of anticipation, and not one I'm getting any enjoyment from.

As has already been said - how the hell are the writers supposed to come up with decent storylines when Hotch is so integral to the Prentiss "back from the dead" plot?

Also, as a character there is so much more to learn about Hotch - for starters, how's he dealt (or not dealt) with the aftermath of the Reaper & Haley's death?

My head is well and truly pecked.

If Mr. Gibson decides to leave Criminal Minds, we wish him all the success in his future endeavors.

gubegirl,

I posted some links to some pictures of TG and MGG in Monte Carlo on the Message Board that is connected to this blog. They're both sporting some "interesting" facial hair.

Jessica said...

Thanks for posting the links to the pics, sf.

Gubegirl and Blimey: I want some EC while we're waiting for the news.

Velandra said...

Gubegirl & Blimey Limey: While your making Jessica some do you think you guys could get together and make enough EC for all of us whilst we wait for good news? I've been reading about it for weeks now and it does sound delicious :)

Jessica said...

yum yum yum :)

gubegirl said...

sf81387: Thnx for the photos. Someone needs to tell TG ASAP that the 'stache can stay but the scruffy white hair on his chinny-chin-chin MUST GO - it ages him and we can't have that. Plus: it doesn't match. And hopefully that mop on his head won't be gray/silver/white anytime soon...

MGG looks his age and I love it...and his Lennon glasses! What a cutie he is.

Thanks again.

Jessica and Velandra: so who should be baking the Earthquake, me or Blimey? Which do you think can get it to you fastest? I'm almost ready to post the recipe here on the blog and hope that you all have a 13" X 9" pan and the meas cups and spoons to properly make it!

Wish we could get together and have a super Girls' nite with it and the margaritas, too...I just LOVE Girls' Nites, don't you? Instead I must keep my iron and ion company and my DVR guide said CM would be on at 6 and w/o a trace is instead and I am bummin'...CM is only on at 9 tonite. May have to dust off the DVD's instead...

TTFN

Velandra said...

Gubegirl: I'm guessing u could get it here fastest... Lol. Margaritas sound fabulous though I do make a great chocolate martini. We could sit around and talk about our men of CM and forget about this whole contract mess... Well one can dream right :) oh CM is on ion tonight at midnight also

Oh i just chanced upon a few piccies of the Gube and TG at the MC TV festival. OMGG and TG - they are the coolest dudes. So funny - worked like caffeine i must say - am no longer sleepy.

But i'll say this once more - Dear Happy Fweet, please could you give us some Hotch next season. pleeease? Thank you (and since when am i a classic nag and a basket case? Oh yeah, since you %^&&*^ with my head).

With love (for TG - unapologetic, platonic. Don't worry Mr. Eleven), lust (for Hotch. Sorry hubs), and all things good (for the whole cast and crew of Minds), Eleven

Jessica said...

gubegirl: Both of you can each bake an EC and we'll have ourselves a lil party lol. A girls' nite sounds great. ECs and margaritas, oh yeah! I love the older episodes on ION too. Thx for the reminder.

Velandra: Oh a choc martini sounds even better than the margarita!!

Eleven: Yes, they are two cool dudes and I hope they are having a blast! :)

Stayed up until 1:00am this morning watching CM. Those early ep's were so good. Would love to see those pics of TG and MGG, where does one go to find them. I believe sf81387 said something about a link but can't find it. I love Margaritas and Chocolate Martinis but I had my first Mint Julep on Mon night. That is one delicious beverage. Some research is now required into how to make the best one.

FYI everyone marg helgenberger and all the CSI people are still in negotiations, so there's still hope for TG.

Laurence Fishburne opted not to renew his contract for CSI, choosing instead to return to doing movies. I think he's been wanting to return to do movies full- time for a while now.

Teresa H, just type in thomas gibson matthew gray gubler monte carlo tv festival - images. But given my unparalleled tech skills, i'm pretty sure there are easier, more productive ways of getting them.

Hey, and maybe we could through the entirety of S7 without knowing whether Hotch'd be back. Great storyline/suspense

Teresa H. said...

Found them, thanks for the tip.
It's interesting to see the expression on their faces; they're obviously "in facing the press/paaaarazzi mode". Not to mention the facial hair. I think it's good to see TG not wedded to the handsome man look. That's not well put but I'm rushing, I should almost be out the door by now.

Kirsten said...

I've been a loyal fan of this show since the outset and love it, primarily because of Hotch. I was so looking forward to this season to see how he dealt with all the stuff from last year but was disappointed. Not only were our ladies taken away, but very little Hotch. It sucked. :( So CBS, please re-sign the extremely talented actor that is TG and let the character fluourish once again. Sorry, won't watch another episode that doesn't have him in it.

No Hotch NO WATCH.
No Hotch No CM 4 me.

sf81387 said...

Hooray! TG shaved! Hopefully it was some kind of joke between him and MGG and we won't be subjected to that look again. He looks very thin. I think you girls need to hand deliver some of that Earthquake Cake to him. : )

Velandra said...

Theresa H.: Bring the mint juleps and we'll make it a party. I've never had one but they sound incredible.

Love the pics of M.G.G. and T.G. they look so incredibly hot. Not sure if I'm in the minority but M.G.G. Is def. working that facial hair!

Jessica said...

I will volunteer to bring some Earthquake Cake to TG! Can CBS pay for my trip to Monaco to deliver it? Lol

I'll pass on the Mint Juleps though. Don't like mint in my food or drinks. Too toothpaste-y.

LunM said...

Fabulous MGG and TG pics. They look hot.
Thank God, the stache is gone. LoL. Not much of a mustache fan generally and, although TG definitely still looked good wearing one, he looks much better without. But he's really very thin. I wonder if the uncertainty about returning and the negotiations wear him thin so to speak. :( But he looks relaxed and happy. This man is such a sunshine and I'm sure he and MGG have a blast promoting CM together. :D

No Hotch/TG, no CM for me.

Blimey Limey said...

Okay folks, hideously off topic - but in the light of keeping our sanity until this is all sorted, us stalker ladies of this CM parish need chocolate.

And lots of it.

This is my version of Earthquake Cake (or should that be Earth Tremor Cake in the UK - the most I've felt here was a 3.6 - although I seriously geeked out).

My entire workplace is talking about this cake - I've had people from other departments stop me on corridors and demand I take some round to their lairs!

Grease a 13x9 tin.

Mix 1 cup/70g coconut, 1 cup/110g chopped pecans and two 100g (not sure of the cuppage) bags of choc chips. Spread them around the bottom of the tin.

I make my own chocolate cake (but aparently a German chocolate cake packet mix does the job fine), but as it's an old family recipe I don't know what it is in cups.
220g/8oz caster sugar (the fine stuff).
190g/7oz self raising flour (erm - if there's a US term I don't know it).
A stick (hey - I'm learning!) of butter (110g/4oz for the Limeys).
2 large eggs.
120ml milk (erm - I think 30ml is a fluid ounce?).
60g/2oz high quality cocoa powder.
Blitz it with a hand blender (it's quite runny, but makes a lovely moist cake) and pour it over the coconut, pecans and choc chips.

Melt another stick (damn, I'm good!) of butter, 220g/8oz of cream cheese (a la Philly), and 1lb/450g of icing (confectioners) sugar in a pan. Pour over the chocolate cake mix and use a knife to swirl it gently so some of it goes beneath the surface.

Cook at 180c ... googles ... 356f (!) for 30-40 minutes, then check every few minutes if it needs more time.

Remove from the oven. Nice eaten cold but REALLY nice still warm with vanilla icecream.

Go to the shop.
Buy bigger trousers...

**************

Right, I'm off to the gym and a toning class (how apt). I'll be back to my stalking best later to talk CM and proper stuff with the rest of the Women's Institute!

p.s. That photo of Shemar - I cannot find adequate words! ;-))

Still no contract for TG...not surprised...

gubegirl said...

OMG...Pilar, I'm with you girl. SM at the top of the blog today is almost better than him on the cover of Muscle and Body last month. Oh, my. They may have to hold us back because we may want to run our hands all over that hot chocolate body...oh my.

I am loving MGG with the facial hair and I like smooth shaven guys...but he just looks so much more... MANLY. Oh, my. Oh, my....

And TG: Thank God he shaved. I needed him to do that. The dark 'stache and the white whiskies were not working for me. He does look a little thin and drawn but he is smiling nicely and looks happy. I hope he is and that things are going well and that he is able to work things out to his satisfaction. I am trying hard not to to think, let alone worry, about it. We have no control and whatever will be, will be. BTW, sorry for the typo ref to him as "Botch" instead of "Hotch"...you could say I "botched" that one...

I've wracked my brain about getting you guys some Earthquake cake but just cannot figure out a way. I wish we could get the CM convention plan underway again and if it was in LA, I def could find a way to furnish everyone with a piece! Hah!

Ok, you guys, I REALLY must go; I thought I needed a shower after jazzercising, but after seeing our guys on here, well, oh my, I am sweating again and oh, my....sigh.
I will ck back later in hopes of seeing some good news. Certainly be Friday???

gubegirl said...

Blimey, you went and did it girl! I get interrupted writing my post to take a lengthy phone call and come back and you did it! I would just like to say it's Devil's Food cake mix not German choc if you choose to use the mix, but the rest is fairly accurate, (I am using a U.S. recipe from a People/Country mag that Keith Urban graced the cover of a few months back and Blimey googled another one and then implemented her old family choc cake recipe for the cake portion. Believe me when I tell you it is too good for words and homemade whipped cream adds as much or more than the vanilla ice cream.) Because I am NOT British, if you have any ?'s that BL cannot answer, feel free to ask me and I promise I will put the recipe right next to my 'puter, like right NOW! And boy, do I wish we could hand-feed some to MGG (he needs it most), TG needs it second and Shemar: well, Eleven, I'm with you, GF; he's chocolate enuf and I get to quaking just thinking about him...:)

Sorry, Jill...we just cannot help ourselves and while waiting for some good news, we are resorting to... well, I'm sure you get it. Don't worry, we'll share...:)

There's a petition floating around out there. It's only got about 1,400 signatures so it's not really making much of a statement, well not the statement I think they're intending to make anyway. LOL

I agree that TG looks way too thin. Is he sick or is he just like the rest of us and sick of the BTS drama....oh wait...I guess he's partially to blame for that isn't he? Oh well, doesn't mean he's not sick of it too.

Pilar said...

Gubegirl, I just finished reading you comments, you are too much!! I agree with everything you said. The running hands on SM's body, MGG's facial hair, TG shaving (Thank God!!), EVERYTHING!! Shemar better be careful, because I'm a few pics away from giving him a baby!

sf81387: that petition was only started a few days ago I believe so 1,400 is pretty rapid growth IMO.

Not really. I think the one they did for the women last summer raked in about 15,000 signatures in the first 24 hours, but I could be wrong. They probably aren't getting it out to the right places. It just kind of struck me as funny is all. You're trying to make this point that this guy is so totally awesome popular that the network should be shaking in their boots over the idea of letting him go, but you've only managed to collect 1,400 signatures over a 3 or 4 day period? I think it's sending the wrong message at the moment. LOL

Yes, my sense of humor is warped and yes, I signed it. : )

Rosie said...

The petition for the women was different circumstance. At the time, AJ had already been let go and Paget's episodes already reduced. The situation now with TG has fans split because some believe there is nothing to worry about; that the deal with TG will eventually be struck. But if they do let TG go then I think the signatures on the petition would be comparable to those for the ladies.

Rosie said...

Additionally, I think the 15,000 was not within the first 24 hours and the petition was started awhile after the news of AJ's definite firing so there was time for fan momentum to build. And yes, I still hold that 1,400 within a span of a few days is rapid growth. Compare it to the petition for Rachel Bichols for example. It has been out for, what, weeks? It has 200 signatures. (No offense intended towards Ms. Nichols, we are just talking numbers here).

Like i said, not all the fans are pissed off about the TG situation yet because no definite announcement has been made yet. I think it does speak for TG's popularity that there is already strong movements within the fandom even before any definite outcome has been announced.

sf81387 said...

Rosie, I didn't mean to offend anyone. Yes, it's nice they started a petition. : )

Maybe being away from the CM set and the endless supply of snacks/food that keeps them nourished during those long days and the constant sitting around has thinned TG out some, not that he was ever plump to begin with. Or maybe he just really is that thin and the camera really does add 10 pounds. : )

Can't imagine CM without either one of them.

Anonymous said...

I think TG may just be biding his time and playing his cards to make sure he gets his demands met.

I also am sure that the writers will plan episodes taking into account either scenerio, with or without Hotch so I am not too worried about the storylines falling apart.

As for MGG, he is my favorite character and it will be interesting to see how they handle his negotiations next year. I haven't liked his new look this year at all, mostly his hairstyle. I find the short style extremely unattractive on him. That isn't the best option for him given his facial structure. He definitely needs longer hair. Now, that pic on the blog of SM and his abs--that's hot!

heyya said...

I, personally find any hair on MGG attractive, well except perhaps the perm he had way back in one of his movies =D
And I love his facial hair. There's just something about a man with a bit of scruff that's super sexy, especially that man.

gubegirl said...

heyva,

After I get a hold of the Gube and feed him Earthquake cake and wash it down his throat with good quality Kick-Ass coffee, followed by a serious session of wiping the crumbs/slurps off his newly hairy chin...well, maybe I'll let you have him for a little while...:) But that's only if Pilar gives me Shemar but I have to warn you: I have a hard time with sloppy seconds...Certainly you both will defer to me because I am older than you both?!

We won't bother fighting poor Eleven for TG...she is beside herself with Hotch withdrawal and he is looking abit on the weak side and may not be able to handle more than one of us...Sigh...

God, what the tension brings out in us, right, Ladies???

Rosie you are wrong the petition site for Rachel Nichols is from the NEW petitionsite. Where you can't sign on more times. So that site is completely flaw free. It locks you and remember you. While the petiton for the AJ,Paget and now Gibson is from the OLD petition site where you can sign with multiple signatures. You can't on the site where Nichols petititon is located. So i think you better take that back. I am sure many of the same people has signed more then once on Gibsons. Yet they can't do that on the NEW petition site where Nichols is located.
If you signed there it says "you already signed" You can't sign twice or more on the NEW petition site.

So you can't compare that one at all. You need to have facts before knowing what you talk about. ASnd here you are wrong.

Pilar said...

Here we go...

Michael said...

This is what it says

Michael, You signed on May 30, 2011.
Your signature has been delivered to:
CBS Television Network

See now the difference there is WAY more sicurity on this NEW petitionsite

www.thepetitionsite.com/

So see you can't compare that one to the OLD where you can sign dozen of times. You CAN'T on the Nichols petition only ONE time. So You are wrong!

gubegirl said...

OMG, Charlie Sheen would make a crazy-good unsub! Forget him playing any good guy or LE, let him just be his HE would love it!

Pilar, GF, I am still older than you, and you must respect your elders: weren't you taught that? Now, I promise to make sure SM gets right back to you, to your bedroom whatever, just don't come knocking on my door too soon.....OMG. If our husbands were to read this, they would think that we had lost our everlovin' minds. Mine is already describing my slightly dented and smashed-in body pillow (that he calls my BF) "looking like the pipecleaner kid from your criminal show."

If I have to breakdown and put Shemar's mag cover with THOSE ABS on my office wall...well, I'm not sure what kind of a ruckus that might cause. I'm on the hunt now to get my Canadian friend a copy because there is no GNC up there. The local store says the May issue with Shemar on the front FLEW outta there. I wonder why?? I may have to scan mine and frame it and include it in her b'day pkg. She has loved him since Y & R...Pilar, I don't know where you are but if she finds YOU with her Shemar...well, I'm just warning you, she has loved that man for a LONG time. Meanwhile, I will settle for His Geekness and have fun picking his brain and playing with his hair...

Jill, thank you for the great pics of our guys. As you can tell, we are LOVING them. And thanks for indulging us.

Thomas: eat yourself a good dinner, then pick up the pen, and SIGN!

Rosie said...

Michael, sweetie, I didn't mean to offend anyone. :)

Its OK but can you now the difference between these petition sites?

I'm couldn't have said it better myself Pilar except to add again and again and again.
Michael: we get it, your a R.N. fan and you seem as devoted to her as most of us are to C.M. so don't you think your time would be better spent setting up a fan site instead of rehashing something most of us just want to move on from?

Post midnight stalking commences with Depeche Mode on tonight's 80s playlist!

PMSL laughing at this thread btw - I think we all need to let off some steam until we get a definitive answer, and where better than with a load of fellow CM junkies?!

Quality pictures, ta for the links - although at first I thought TG was wearing pyjamas! It also looks like the weather is better on the Continent than here. They seem to have had the good sense not to come this far north (heating on - in June = outrageous).

The Charlie Sheen response made me laugh, although I don't think I'd like to see him on CM. He comes across as a prize @r$e, to put it mildly.

Yeah, TG definitely looks like he needs a hefty dose of EC. I'd been thinking he'd started looking a bit skinny of late. I reckon MGG looks like he *may* have chunked slightly (but still needs the EC treatment).

Gubegirl needs the credit for bringing the cake (figuratively speaking) to our attention - if she'd not mentioned it I wouldn't have known to google it.

If any of you folks want to recreate some good Limey stodge** might I suggest:
Jam roly poly (hot with custard compulsory)
Cornflake pie (hot with custard optional)
Bakewell tart (eat cold)
Eccles cakes ("dead fly pie" - eat cold)
Sherry trifle

** Urban dictionary says stodge is "Something sort of heavy and thick in the way of food, often devoid of any real nutritional content. Used often in Britain (for obvious reasons)."

Go on, fill your boots...

Velandra: GF, If I am fortunate to ever get my "hands" on Shemar, I promise you that I won't hog Matthew. But I'm sure that you will appreciate a bit of bulking up that I'm sure I could manage with the Gube: I LOVE to cook and to bake, esp. if there is a guy around to appreciate it. Really motivates me...any baker, I presume. How about you, Blimey girl?

I promise that I won't make him eat my homemade veggie juice and cottage cheese like I do (in order to make room for the good stuff like EC!) My kids gag at the idea of hummus and other such "girl food" that we might eat to maintain our "girlish" figures. My son just about got sick at seeing the baked yam I'm having for dinner and almost lost his chicken potpie! Go figure. It would have been a bit yummier with brown sugar but, hey, must watch the calories, right?

After a few days of filling MGG's face, playing with his hair and making him draw me some great pics, I'm sure that you will be appreciative of the improvement.

And heyva, by the time we are all finished with him, just think how experienced he will be when you finally get your turn? If we haven't worn the poor boy to a frazzle...sigh...he'll make a great BF for you, sweetie, if my daughter wasn't already married I would totally be trying to set them up!

OMG, Blimey, now I am PMSL at my own goofiness. This TG anxiety is making us all bonkers, wouldn't you say?

Love those pics. Love those pics. Love MGG looking like that...and Shemar..mmm'mmmm. and that TG shaved. Thank God. White hair on a face ages a man tremendously and I'm glad he realized that.

That's all. Off to yoga so that I can finish the raspberry shortcake off when I get home...while I re-watch "Today I Do..."

I def did not perceive your post as derogatory or rude in any way and just wanted to explain to you that we love this show and get a little crazy with it - esp now, with no new shows, TG's contract up in the air and then seeing the new pics of the 3 guys today: it pushed several of us over the edge. We are addicts and I'm sure that if you love the show the way we love the show, then you are welcome and that's why I said that about, young old, etc. I know nothing about your deleted post but do not take it personally. It happens. Always try to be polite even when you don't like something/someone.

Keep up that crush on JJ: she has the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen and I don't think they are colored contacts! Plus, she is a great actress (did you see her in the "Bring Ashley Home" on Lifetime the other nite? She was angry and upset the way we see our victims on CM upset and she was awesome. I can't wait to have her rejoin The Family because she is the Main Mom.

Anyway, welcome. Anyone who is new here might have to put up with us being a little more than usual right now til things settle down...bear with us. For the most part, the majority of us are intelligent, sensible individuals.

I, OTH, have next to no life as you do, am home alot (I am the Main Mom here) and can jump on here to lurk or jabber whenever I like. IOW, I am a regular:)

Well, I am worried and I'm totally pissed off and if that contract doesn't get signed soon, I guess I'll just have to sit down and cry!! I guess CBS loves this kind of bull 'cause they've done it before!

Maybe this is the "cliffhanger"!

Sorry for all the typos; I meant "a little more crazy than usual" and OTOH not OTH...TTF (typing too fast) and it is getting late.

and CMFAN11: thanks. I think people with positive attitudes rock, too! Not to mention they are WAY more fun!

Maybe this is the "cliffhanger"!

I've been wondering if this was the case myself.

Was away from here since yesterday morning and you've all gone nuts in my absence. I love it, you're a funny bunch. This sharing is way too much; the EC ok,(BTW thanks to Blimey Limey and Gubegirl for the recipe I'll have to try it) but definitely not TG, he's all mine.
Because, Eleven, the poor man would be worn to a frazzle if you got your hands on him. Although I don't like the white pants and shirt. While the moustache was funny and it was good to see the scruffy side of him with the beard, he looks much better cleanshaven. I was thinking during the final couple of episodes of S6 that he was looking thinner.
Seeing those pics I do feel a little more optimistic that he may be back. Why would he be doing this if he weren't returning or even uncertain of it? Or perhaps he's just enjoying his holiday in the sun. What's a few photo calls when that's the payoff?
The Charlie Sheen answer is classic TG/The great deflector(Eleven, I believe that's your term). He gives nothing away but disarms us all with the humour.

Hey, i would do nothing (damaging) to TG (sniffle - nobody understands me. sniffle). I pwomise. Hotch on the other hand.....but given that H is a fictional character, the possibilities range from zero to infinity. And my schizophrenia knows no bounds.

TG needs a whole lot of that EC, BL and Gubegirl. Although i think he looks incredibly boyish in the MC pics, he does look awfully thin as many of you have said. But i guess whatever he's comfy with....

I was reading this very old interview of his, Teresa H - he seemed much more open then (well relatively speaking). It could simply be because he is older, but i can't imagine him (now) saying that he got coffee in bed for his wife for a month to make up for playing too much golf.

Interesting.

And as much as i love goofing around here, ribbing each other about our fav characters, and being all-round good guys/gals (pats all of us on back), i'm just dying of consternation and anxiety here. The bloody great deflector - idiot (grumbles, mutters, mumbles).

Eleven, I agree I cannot see TG saying something like that now.
Regarding his thinness: I think he's looking about the same as he did in his early to mid thirties, so perhaps that's his ideal weight, he does look much younger.
If only I could do the same.
I do have to say though that I would prefer to see some grey in his hair. I just rather when men do not dye their hair.

Oh, me, too, about the grey! My 32yo hubs is 50% grey, and neither he nor i want him to colour his hair - his dimples help, though (see that's why i call him my Real Mr. Dimples).

Plus I think TG would look great with some grey - would go nicely with his age and (much-loved) wrinkles. His eyes and dimples would act as a nice offset to the grey. But whatever floats his boat, flicks his switch (or his wife's). I liked JM more, too, with the grey. And of course SM doesn't age. And MGG/KV are MGG/KV. And Paget, my god - how? (although i liked he less straightened Lauren hair). JJ - i kinda preferred her chubbier cheeks of yore, and would you think me weird if i said Strauss (JA) was very beautiful imo?

I'm changing me bloggername to 'The Garrulous Goat' - i do go on.
