Criminal Minds: Once again Nellie Andreeva is trying to claim a Criminal Minds exclusive. Whatever! Yes, they are planning a Criminal Minds spinoff that is being written by Chris Mundy. They will introduce the spin-off show during episode 17 of this season. None of the new show's characters will be from the original since ABC holds contracts with our actors and the spin is being made by CBS. Nellie Andreeva wrote that CBS passsed on a spin-off last season which is not true. "Washington Field" which was created by the Clemente brothers and Ed Bernero was never intended as a spin-off. It was a completely individual pilot meant for a completely individual show. I hope this sets the record straight.

ONLY CBS Increases Its Audience in Both Viewers and Adults 18-49 Versus Premiere Week Last Year

CBS won the first week of the 2009-2010 season in viewers and adults 25-54 for the first time since 2006, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Sept. 27, week one of the new television season.

CBS was the only network to grow its premiere week audience from last year in both viewers (+4%) and adults 18-49 (+3%).

The Network's premiere week wins, with a near full slate of regularly scheduled programs, were marked by the strong returns of its crime dramas and comedies (especially THE BIG BANG THEORY with series highs in all key measures) and stellar premieres of NCIS (the No. 1 show of the week with an all time high of 20.6 million viewers), the series debut of NCIS: Los Angeles (No. 2 show of the week with 18.7 million viewers), the series debut of THE GOOD WIFE (largest time period premiere audience since 2002) and 60 MINUTES' best season premiere since 2005.

For the week in viewers: CBS (11.77m), ABC (11.04m), NBC (7.56m) and FOX (7.35m).

For the week in key demographics, CBS was first in adults 25-54 (4.1/11) and a close second in adults 18-49 (3.2/09, -0.1 behind ABC). Compared to Premiere Week in 2008, CBS was up +3% in both households and adults 18-49, +4% in viewers and even in adults 25-54. CBS is the only network to post gains in viewers year to year and is one of only two networks up in adults 18-49 (with FOX, also up +3%).

For the week in households: CBS (7.3/12), ahead of ABC (7.1/12), NBC (4.8/08) and FOX (4.3/07).

One day before law enforcement officers raided homes in Highland Park and other areas of Northeast Los Angeles, actors from a popular television crime series were busy pursuing their own suspects, using a storefront on Figueroa Boulevard as their film stage.

Film crews started setting up shop along Avenue 59 just south of Figueroa last week, as they made ready to film an upcoming episode of the popular CBS crime series “Criminal Minds.”

The long vacant storefront, situated on a some-what ordinary stretch of Figueroa where a post office, bargain store, bar, liquor store and a pet shop are also located, was outfitted with stuffed bears and other wildlife and turned into “Lloyd’s Wild Game Shop.” The taxidermy shop is supposed to be located somewhere in Oklahoma: A long way from the very urban Highland Park shop transformed through the magic of Hollywood.

An adjacent storefront, the parking lot behind the shops and a nearby public parking lot, were taken over by large trailers and film equipment.

Throughout the day and into the night, local residents stopped to watch the filming, sometimes pointing as they recognized actors from the TV series.
But while the story being filmed was about an Oklahoma crime, the behind the scene goings on had a very L.A. feel, complete with a “taco guy” dishing out savory Michoacán style plates of food.

The season five Criminal Minds episode filmed is titled “The Eyes Have It,” and is scheduled to air at the end of October but before Thanksgiving, actor Shemar Moore told.

CRIMINAL MINDS: UM, HE SHOULD BE WORRIED

Criminal Minds has always owned its Wednesday time slot. Criminal Minds has consistently beaten any show that has gone up against it except for reality shows and I don't think that counts in the real world. "Law & Order: SVU" showrunner Neal Baer doesn't seem to think Criminal Minds is going to be a ratings problem for his show. Maybe he needs to talk to Lost's showrunner!

-JH: "Criminal Minds" is your competition. Does that concern you as far as a similar audience being splintered between the two series?

NB: No, I think they are very different shows. They are both considered procedurals but they're very different in the way they approach the subject matter and the characters and the characters' lives. It's apples and oranges, I think. Criminal Minds: Here is the overnight ratings for last night. Criminal Minds did well considering it was up against a hit reality show.

"America's Got Talent" was up to a 10.5/17 for its conclusion, with 18+ million viewers watching the second half-hour. CBS' "Criminal Minds" was a distant second, beating the 4.2/7 for FOX's "Glee," which was down from last week with 6.64 million viewers, but still had a strong 3.1 demo rating. ABC's "Crash Course" was well back in fourth. The premiere of The CW's "The Beautiful Life: TBL" had a 1.1/2 and drew only 1.46 million viewers to go with a 0.7 demo rating.

He let me go pretty crazy with this role, so I am really looking forward to seeing that. I also have “Citizen Jane” which is a Hallmark movie that I did.

"No Way Out" -- Gideon and Morgan go head to head in a stand off with a prolific serial killer who is strangely calm when they corner him in a diner, on CRIMINAL MINDS, REBROADCAST September 13 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on A&E. John Gallagher directed the episode from a script written by Simon Mirren.

Academy Award and Golden Globe Award winner and Grammy Award nominee Keith Carradine ("Deadwood") guest stars as the suspected serial killer. Golden Globe Award winner and Academy and Emmy Award nominee Amy Madigan ("Carnivale") guest stars as a small desert town's resident outcast.

He talked to us about his summer hiatus and all the fun he and his family had on vacation. All laughs and smiles. Then he walked back to where they were shooting and within a fraction of a second turned back into serious Hotchner. We are blessed to have actors of Thomas' caliber on Criminal Minds! ROCK STAR GAVIN ROSSDALE TO GUEST STAR ON "CRIMINAL MINDS"
THIS FALL ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 9 — Rock star Gavin Rossdale will guest star on an episode of CRIMINAL MINDS this fall on the CBS Television Network.

Rossdale will play a Goth rock star who has become lost in the frightening alter-ego he portrays on stage — an alter-ego whom the BAU team suspects may be a brutal serial killer.

Rossdale was last seen in the independent feature film "How to Rob a Bank." Previously, he appeared in the films "Constantine," "Little Black Book" and "Game of their Lives." Rossdale first attained worldwide fame as the lead singer/songwriter for the UK post-grunge rock band Bush. Their first album, "Sixteen Stone" (1994), was a huge commercial success. Almost overnight, Bush went from playing small pubs in London to headlining arenas in the US, the result of extensive, non-stop touring. The band went on to produce three more albums together. Rossdale was featured on the Sony Pictures XXX soundtrack in 2002 with a song called "Adrenaline." The song was also the official theme song for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE)'s "Unforgiven" pay-per-view event in September 2002 and was used in the ending credits of "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines." Additionally, he has just completed20his International Tour on his latest solo album, "Wunderlust." Rossdale resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Gwen Stefani, and their two sons.

Criminal Minds: Guest stars Clayne Crawford, Travis Aaron Wade and Blake Shields, pictured above on the set of Criminal Minds, are amazing. It was triple digits hot outside and they were filming in a house with no air conditioning and hot cameras all around them. Not one complaint from any of them. Just smiles! They are magnificient actors and really nice young men. I've never been asked to sign a script before but they had everyone on set sign their script. How cute is that! Remember to watch 'Hopeless' written by Chris Mundy. I just might have to root for the 'bad boy' in this Criminal Minds episode.

Criminal Minds season four dvd pre-sales are going well. Pictured above with Lori is Molly. Molly is the director of the Criminal Minds dvd extras. She is an absolute goddess and I was thrilled to finally get the chance to meet her in person! Molly makes Criminal Minds magic. :)

According to "best selling' figures on Amazon.com, the fourth season of Criminal Minds is doing quite well on the DVD charts.

As of Thursday afternoon, orders for the fourth season of 'Criminal Minds' jumped 66% -- some 119 spots over the last week.

What makes the success of the DVD relevant however, is the fact that it has not been released.

Criminal Minds (the fourth season) is in fact due for release September 9.

For those of you looking to pick up a copy of this DVD you might just want to pre-order or make your way to stores when it is released in that morning!

CRIMINAL MINDS: AJ IN 'MOTHER'S DAY'

Criminal Minds: A.J. Cook, JJ on Criminal Minds, asked us to let everyone know about this and I forgot. Sorry!

Director Darren Lynn Bousman announced this afternoon that actress A.J. Cook is the newest addition to the Mother's Day cast. Cook's genre credits include Ripper, Final Destination 2 and Dead Like Me.

Others in the cast of Bousman's remake include Rebecca DeMornay, Jaime King, Briana Evigan, Alexa Vega, Shawn Ashmore, Deborah Ann Woll, Lyriq Bent and Lisa Marcos.

DeMornay plays the head of a villainous family who returns to the house where they grew up to terrorize the new owners and their guests. Filming begins soon in Winnipeg, Canada.

CRIMINAL MINDS: THEY'RE SO MUCH MORE THAN STAND-INS!

Criminal Minds: The first thing you learn when watching them shoot Criminal Minds is that patience is key. The 30 second scene you watch on Criminal Minds can take hours to finish shooting. Watching them shoot on location presents more challenges than watching them in the studio. Where do you sit or stand, etc. We scouted a group of young people (everyone is young compared to me) sitting in chairs in a location that seemed to be out of everyone's way so we bee lined it over to where they were. Great choice on our part. We got to spend time with 'the kids' as I now affectionately refer to them. The 'kids' are Calvin Harrison, Patty Malcolm, Angie Kibiloski, Donnell Turner, and Stephen Gillikin (from left to right in the group picture above with Lori & Kris). They are young, bright, ambitious and very very sweet. I totally adopted all of them. I explained to Donnell that if you are going to stand-in for Shemar than you better own the abs and he does as evidenced by the above pic. But on a more serious note, these are very talented young actors at the beginning of their careers and I will be posting more about their current, past and upcoming projects soon. I always share. So 'my kids' just became 'our kids' and together maybe we can call in some favors with TPTB to get them roles on Criminal Minds.

CRIMINAL MINDS: SHEMAR MOORE INTERVIEW

Criminal Minds: Shemar Moore, Derek Morgan on Criminal Minds, talked to Extra TV. It was great visiting with Shemar again last week on the set. I asked him if he was going to be able to ride in the MS bike marathon and he said that he would be able to ride but probably not the whole course as he usually does.

CRIMINAL MINDS: THE UNSUB THAT GOT AWAY IS COMING BACK.

Criminal Minds: C. Thomas Howell, pictured above with writer Andrew Wilder on the set of "Omnivore" written by Mr. Wilder, did a fantastic job playing George Foyet in "Omnivore". Foyet is only our second unsub to get away and in April I told you that at some point he would be coming back and he is. Kudos to Mr. Howell on a masterful performance. Take a look at his IMDB. Mr. Howell has many projects in pre and post production. I know that I will be keeping an eye on his future projects. He's terrific!

Criminal Minds: I was very happy to meet Director Felix Alcala and have the opportunity to watch him work on location filming episode four of the fifth season. CRIMINAL MINDS: LANNA MAKES PAGET'S DAY!

Criminal Minds: Fans of Criminal Minds often send me gifts for the actors for me to forward but if I receive gifts close to when I am going to visit the set I like to deliver them. Lanna made beautiful calendars for Paget Brewster which I was happy to deliver to her personally. Paget LOVED them. She totally adored them and said she was going to send one to her family to show it off. Great job Lanna. You brought a hugh smile to Paget's face.

CRIMINAL MINDS: SHEMAR MOORE TELLS IT LIKE IT IS.

Criminal Minds: It is always wonderful getting to visit with Shemar Moore, Derek Morgan on Criminal Minds. Shemar is not only a fantastic actor but a fantastic person. Warm, honest and always fun! Shemar talked to us about quite a few things that I would like to share with all of you. First of all, he made it quite clear that he is not only in no way associated with the twitter and facebook accounts bearing his name but he is actively trying to have them shut down. He also, and this certainly made us all very proud, thanked us for not posting crap about him on the blog. He told us how frustrating it is for him when he goes out to meet friends and photographers snap his picture and make up completely false statements about him to go along with the pictures. Shemar is a very easy going and honest person and it was quite obvious to all of us that this really bothers him. He spoke about it in detail citing recent events. I assured him that we will continue to honor his privacy and stay away from circulating rumors and half thruths. I hope all Criminal Minds and fans of Shemar Moore will follow our lead on this matter. He's a great guy and one of our prized actors and he deserves our respect.

Paget's blanket was the one she used to sleep with in her trailer but she kindly donated it to us to auction for the American Cancer Society. CRIMINAL MINDS: AJ ON SET

Criminal Minds: A.J. Cook, JJ on Criminal Minds, pictured on the set of Criminal Minds, is holding a Gublerland pin which will be one of the items we will be auctioning for the American Cancer Society. Motherhood really agrees with AJ. She proudly showed us some pictures of her son and told us he is walking now. I am often asked about AJ and it's always easy to describe AJ. She is honestly one of the nicest people I have ever met in LA. She is warm, friendly and just very special. More AJ pics soon.
